I approached along the nearby trail from the north and then hopped the small creek. The cache was found without any dramas, but it’s totally cooked. The logbook is screwed and lid is broken. If there are any future cachers coming, bring a small container or a preform to replace it. Cheers trail_geek!
Definitely took the wrong route from the track, luckily saw it from the wrong rock.
Little nervous after seeing my first snake in the wild near the last cache.

Bit of bush bashing to get to this one which isn't great for the environment, but we found it, TFTC
A nice easy find on an enjoyable walk in the park. Great views. Thanks for the cache
After trying to work out the best path across to GZ, still ended up with a few scratches on my legs. All for a smiley
Trying to get that song out of my head is probably going to be more difficult than the ascent to the rock!
The lid of the cache container is crumbling and no longer secures in place.
Requires maintenance by the CO.

Did my jobs in the morning - this means I can go for a walk in the bush and get some caches. This time to do some John Forrest NP. Beautiful arvo for it - a quick find. Thanks for the hide.
Out for a bit of a walk on the eagle view trail to cleanup the three remaining caches here and perform some cache maintenance for alliedOz.
Good hike, flowers out, and a few hikers out too.
Thanks for the fun.
This one needs some TLC, we found the berrocca tube, but the lid is completely disintegrated so we placed it with the bottom up to stop the moisture. Added a new piece of paper as the other was inwritable.

We were in the area today cleaning up some unloved caches with BJA3. This one was out in the open with contents scattered. We gathered up everything that looked like it belonged and re hid closer to the original coords as we were about 15 mtrs out by my GPS. Log was beyond saving so we added some paper to replace it. TFTC trail_geek!
Out on a lovely Saturday afternoon caching with Team Barritts. Bit of a slog in to this one but we got there in the end. Tftc!
No luck with this one today but will be back for another and more appropriate pants
Was out with some friends hiking the Eagle View Trail. Couldn’t resist getting at least one cache so we snuck to this one while they were having a break. Couldn’t sign logbook as it was saturated so attached photo as proof.

I was walking the trail today and thought I would go up the hill and have a look around. I didn't find a small container with a blue lid but on getting on the PC I notice that disappeared a while ago. The thing I did find was a little damp inside so I didn't scratch my mark on the paper but wrote on the outside. I will go by another day soon and will clean it up a little and try and spend some time leaving the log in the sun. I left it as I found it which didn't seem quite right but that's what's called for.
Friday morning hike in the hills, taking advantage of possibly the last cool morning of the year.
Took a good 5-10 minutes of hunting but eventually found the cache a few metres higher up than my gps was telling me. Loved the walk up here, great views. TFTC

Seriously hard work getting to the cache. Glad I was dressed appropriately. My companions who were not had to call it quits 30m out. Big sigh of relief when I spotted the cache and on cue an eagle did a fly-by. Log is completely water-logged and needs replacing. TFTC (I think).
Had a great hike in the sun to this cache but should have worn my bigboy pants as my legs did not come out too well on the last few metres. The next finder should be able to follow the blood trail straight to the cache (mostly kidding!).
My phone and I were not getting along too well at GZ, but just as I was about to hop from one rock to another I spotted something incongruous which luckily enough was masking the cache.
TFTC amd the solid workout trail_geek.

I visited this cache back in 2012 when it seems it had succumbed to a fire. I found traces of the cache and sent photos of what I'd found seeking permission to log but never got a response. It now seems it has been replaced so whilst walking the Eagle View Trail I stopped by to find it. There's still traces of what I'm pretty sure is the original cache melted onto a rock but there was no sign of the replacement. I broadened my search and soon had the new cache in hand. Glad to tick this one off almost 4 years after the original search. TFTC.
A little further off the beaten track than I was expecting, but not too challenging to get to. Really loving this walk along the trail. Apologies for the late log. TFTC trail geek
A friend and I had decided to hike the Eagle View trail today, and she was nice enough to let me find a few caches on the way. She got a phone call as we were about the cross the stream, so I went to find this one myself. Probably a good thing, as it was tough going through prickle bushes and up rocks. Eventually found what I was looking for.
Enjoyed wandering the trail until about 70m from GZ but the final section of scratchy bush was something I would happily leave next visit. Sadly, as I got closer and closer to GZ, the rock became less and less eagle looking but once back on the track after logging the find, I stopped again to admire it. Thanks for the cache trail geek.
From being "a regular plastic container with a blue lid" it seems to have morphed in to a small orange tube.
Great views on a fine day.

We did the Eagle View Walk and this turned out to be a good spot to have lunch. A bit of climbing around but had this in the end..TFTH
Found while out walking Eagle View Trail with some muggle friends, they stayed below while I dashed up the hill side to make a quick find, yeah right!
After searching for some time I had all but given up and decided to make my way back down through the thick scrub to my waiting walk buddys when I stumbled across the cache, not what I was looking for at all,
I was so very happy to find it I let out a whoop and then had to tell them to go back, I was OK! They thought as I had been gone for so long that my holler of joy was a cry for help LOL
TFTC
Logging well after my find as I'm just getting back into caching after a rest.

Whilst exploring the John Forrest NP with my family (jasenjanine), this was one of the caches we found today... Thanks trail_geek
This cache was next on the list as we walked around the John Forrest NP. Janine and the kids decided to stay on the track at the little creek crossing while i bush bashed my way towards GZ. Once there, i began climbing some rocks where the GPS'r was pointing, but it just wouldn't settle here. I ended up rock hopping all over the place and my bare legs got torn apart by the evil prickly bushes that seem to be everywhere that i need to jump down off a rock .
After about 15 minutes, i climbed onto the right rock and spotted some camo .. and then the cache . I hadn't read back through the logs, and didn't realise i was looking for a micro ... had i known that, i may not have bothered searching for it with kids getting tired, and the heat that was now taking it's toll on all of us [XX(]
TFTC trail_geek ... all good with the cache.

Looking for two new caches by AlliedOz and saw this a few hundred metres away so decided to call in. Enjoyed some scrambling around the rocks and soon uncovered the new-ish cache in good order - it might be bright orange but you have to do a bit of work to see it. Love these boulder fields, stunning. TFTC!
With the young fella, very steep hill/rocks around this cache location so was a little too difficult whilst keeping an eye on him. Will try again another day.
I had planned to do this cache on Anzac day and actually walked to within 600 metres, but turned around as I wanted to finish the Philosopher's Stone multi and I didn't think I would have time to do both and walk out before dark ... I had earlier spent way too much time at Philosophers Stone WP1 as well as at a couple of DNFs before that, which is why I ran out of time ... so I returned for this one today.
Walked in from Pechy road with the geo-wife, following Jane Brook on the right bank till it met up with Eagle View trail and followed the trail until 75m from the cache, crossed Christmas Tree Creek which has a bit of water in it today and sat on some rocks below GZ to make a cuppa before I climbed up to look for the cache. Found when I stopped and cast my eyes around the scene after a few minutes of clamoring around the rocks ... spotted a likely hiding place and there was the cache.
Signed the log, and headed back to the geo-Camry, taking a bit of a short-cut on the way back. Thanks for the hide trail_geek.

The Geo-girlfriend and sister found this one on a hike on the Eagle Walk trail.
Had anticipated dropping off a geocoin we had picked up but found that the container was a little too small.
Lovely view, but no Echidna. TFTC TNLN.

Managed to slip away while hiking with some yr 10 students. They stopped for a rest and I scrambled up and around the rocks until success!
My scratched up shins didn't like the route there or back to the path!
I had hoped to grab a few on this hike but Im unable to divert too far from the planned track and away from the group.
Log was dry and not to hard to find as a little different from other rock pile caches and long as you stand in the right spot!

Found after a bit of a scrabble about the rocks with members of the Family Bushwalkers of WA. thanks for the hunt trail geek. melvilla
Having rest and looked at the GPS, what do you know a cache 100m away! All through lovely prickly bush.
Finally found the cache when Ben shouts below, ECHIDNA!!!!.
We quickly finish logging the cache and puts it back, race down the hill and watch the Echidna do a little swim. Very rare thing to see.

Doing the Eagle Track Walk, reverse direction. Wow, this cache isn't found very often. Didn't have too much trouble locating it's hidey hole in the rocks. Just after replacing the cache we saw an echidna down by the creek. Bonus. Would not have seen it if we hadn't been delayed with some cache hunting. So a double thanks for the hide.
That's one small cache in such a big place!! Beautiful spot. Thanks very much for the cache and the maintenance - the new container is still in excellent shape.
MAINTAINED!!! couldnt find it so i replaced it! luckily we brought along a spare cache container. You shouldnt miss this one now! its a bright orange Redoxon tube! and its exactly at the original coords!
I'm not really sure whether I found the cache or not. As pointed out by IOrienteer the area appears to have been burnt some time between Chwiliwr's visit in 2010 and IOrienteer's visit in Aug 2011. I found traces of a pencil lead, a spring possibly from a pen or toy and some glass fragments about the size of a microscope slide (see pic), all in a likely hiding spot for a cache and within 1m of what the GPS was indicating to be GZ. Disappointing not to find the cache but an enjoyable walk in from Rocky Pool. I'll email the owner with a pic of where I found my possible cache contents and hopfully they'll be able to confirm the caches existence or not.
Found something that looked like a burnt plastic container in among the rocks. Not sure if it was the remains of the cache. Found small glass item that was clearly burnt. Will alert trail_geek in case bush fire destroyed the cache. Nice area though. Water was well and truly flowing today.
(Chwiliwr team catch up log)
After finding the nearby multi cache we came the long way round to this cache.
Found without trouble at the first spot Chwiliwr looked.
Thanks for the cache.

Our 400th found cache! Phew!
We came up from Rocky Pool, via WP1 for The Philosopher's Stone. We were congratulating ourselves on the last 30m -- finding the best way through the trackless bush -- when two blokes strolled down the hill, from a direction that had no tracks for many hundreds of metres... Ah well...

Found this cache with my new Garmin Vista H (first find with it) that replaces the dead and buried Garmin EMap that took a swim.
Bit of a cloudy day but wish I took the track to get to the cache instead of bush bashing from up the hill.

Found this one after doing Christmas Tree Creek. Introduced my friend Stephen to Geocaching and this was a wonderful spot. Had a bit of trouble to start with so decided to have a cuppa first, then on the way back to my pack I found it. Sat up here for about an hour enjoying the peace and quiet. Left Couch Potato. TFTC
what a great place! awesome veiws - even a rainbow today. Saw roos and bright blue wrens and really enjoyed the bush and the hike . Thanks for bringing me here. The gps had me climbing all over the place until i finally gave up and turned it off. When I looked up I could see the cache! I thought the hide was a bit dangerous . I got attacked by a billion tiny ants and nearly slid off the rock. TNL key ring clip. TFTH
We needed some fresh air and, especially, exercise, so a walk around the hills of John Forrest seemed like just the ticket on a lovely spring day.
We took a slightly longer and hillier way here than is strictly required, testing MBL's stamina and PBL's patience (we're back on speaking terms now!)
The creek's running nicely, not too much water to cross easily, but enough to be pretty.
After a brief look, MBL sat down while PBL pulled out the PDA to refresh our memories of what we were looking for, then she leaned over and said "Here it is! Sorry."
It's certainly less covered up than it was on the first visit here, and much more appropriate for the location!
A quick log in the book, then down the Eagle walk with a small detour at the end back to where we'd parked, feeling duly exercised!
(BTW, the blue lidded container is in a black bag, so don't go looking for blueness!)

Found about lunch time today, I walked up over the creek with no trouble and headed up the hill. After looking for a while I decided to have lunch so I turned the gps off and found a good spot. After I turned the gps back on it took me to a new spot so I searched again in a spot I had looked at before. After a bit better look this time I found it
I took the coin and left the TB,
Thanks for a good morning out, I then headed out to the Christmas Tree Creek cache.

Found with Calebreckers for a 4th to find!!! Great area, Wedge tail eagles flying nearby, followed by a swim in Christmas Tree Creek to ease our sore feet!
[Australian Branch] Well, we tracked across country to find this one and now are sporting scratched legs and arms. Easy find once we finally got to the right rock. Thank god for the lovely swim in nearby Christmas Tree Creek after. TN, left laces.
Came up here after work, and it gets dark quick these days... I took my torch with me, and I definitely needed it.
Really enjoyed the walk, I also parked on Taaffe Rd. Lots of kangaroos about, some really big ones. Sometimes we surprised each other, with the poor kangaroos dashing away madly and my heart racing.
I didn't have any trouble finding the cache. My GPS was very close, and I found it after looking for about 5-10 minutes, in increasingly darker conditions.
Spent some time taking photos, then made my way back down to the car. Getting back to the main track from the cache was a bit hairy in the dark.
I grabbed Blingg's Lizard TB, and left The 3BlindEyes Alamo GC. Thanks for a great walk and cache!

Never could resist a challenge, so with this in mind I set out to find this cache.I ended up on the wrong track and had to go cross country for 750m approached the site from the top of the rocks and soon reached GZ .Cache was located within 5 minutes and no more than 1m away, it is in rather than under and could be seen easily ( no need to move rocks or undergrowth

Well, this was a little more of an adventure than I planned!
To start off with, I didn't have the GPSr turned on and I parked in the wrong spot (950m too early) and set off along the wrong side of the creek.
I found a likely place to cross and did so carefully, but then my boot slipped (always a problem with hiking boots; their hard soles aren't good on wet rocks!) and in I went.
I thought I'd avoided dunking any electronics and only suffered squelchy boots, but when I checked my PDA at GZ, I found that I'll needing to fill in an insurance form. Damnit.
So, 1.7km from GZ and the path's not heading that way. OK, cross-country it is! Half-way there and I come across a big path, but it also heads off the wrong way, so off-track again!
The last 100m to the cachesite was thick and prickly and slow going, but I eventually made it to the rocks at GZ and started looking.
And, after half an hour, not finding.
This is well off-track and not an especially tempting area for muggles to head off to, so who exactly is it "well hidden" FROM? I do think that bringing people out on a bit of a hike, only to either deny them the cache by hiding it over-well, or letting them find a small, empty cache, is mean at best.
I was planning a walk to the trail-geek cache in Mundaring, but I think this experience has changed my mind. The ignore feature is looking like a better option.

Parked at the end of Taffe Rd around 7am and set off along the trail, heaps of Kangaroos and a nice walk of about 1300 mtrs to the area of GZ. The last 50 or so are quite difficult to negotiate especially if you are trying to get a nice accurate walk in GPS Co-Ord,all the stop, start, cloud cover and rocks were playing havoc with my GPS Needle.
I found nailing down a search area difficult..there are LOTS of likely hidey spots! Couldnt find in the first 45 mins of searching, but tried going back down the slope into a clearer area which allowed me to walk back into the area steadily for a few seconds, and that gave me a better idea as to where GZ should be. During a longish search such as this one, its difficult NOT to do a little trampleing, i did my best to minimise this, maybe a spoiler picture for those that want one?
As i turned out this approach worked and about 15 mins later i found the cache, in a previously searched spot i may add! After a little yell of triumph and pulling the cache box from its bag, i was slightly dissapointed to see nothing other than an unmarked notebook and pencil in the cliplock. Sometimes i have had my Step Grandson with me, and i know he looks forward to swapping stuff. With this in mind i left..
