Solved the puzzle and walked in the most amazing scenery. Miss 4 loved the caves. Found the most likely cache home and GPS agreed but nothing there.
Couldn't get the GPS to help, but we just looked at the bottom of each flight of stairs and found it in the end
(I apologise for the late log but the date is accurate)
Found today with the help of TwigNZ while we were up in Waitomo for a holiday of sorts. I had a great time finding this cache and thanks for placing it. TFTC

School holidays, plus the combination of public holidays and 3 days leave means I get to take my lad on a road trip. This time we have chosen Waitomo to be our destination, and today was our first full day here having arrived yesterday evening.
So having had a good rest after the long drive yesterday, I figured that a more relaxed day was on the cards and how better to make use of the wonderful autumn weather than to go exploring the local area? So we decided to go to the Marokopa Falls first and then make our way back to Waitomo from there.
The wonderful thing about Geocaching is that you are tempted to make an excursion to somewhere you may not have been bothered to, and discover something totally wonderful when you get there. This was definitely the case today. The lad and I had so much fun exploring all the wonders to be seen, both above ground and below. Just as well we were wearing clothing we didn't have to worry about lol!
Having initially read that the sign wasn't there (for AAA) we discovered that it actually is there. No matter, we had the info we needed so now for a interesting walk. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves walking around this reserve. Lots of points of interest along the loop track, and places to explore more fully.
The GPS was bouncing around all over the place, resulting in first putting us in a place that completely fitted the Hint, but was frustrating as we couldn't find the cache. Then I backtracked a bit and found another possible location, and the cache was soon in hand. All is good with the container and contents, and so the log was quickly signed etc etc.
Thanks for the adventure and the memories, and most worthy of a FP.

Today I walked from Waitomo Village to the Ruakuri Scenic Reserve along the Waitomo Walkway. It was a lovely peaceful trail and the Reserve was beautiful.
I collected the information for the multi cache at the start of the Reserve bush walk (note: all the required info can be found on the signs). My GPS was all over the place under the trees but after some careful reading of the hint I spotted a likely hiding space and then the cache.
I love multi caches! TFTC

Tftc,if I could it would be a favourite this is what geocaching is all about what a awesome walk
After visiting the glow worms, we went for this multi...
Off course the answers were not that heard to find so all what was left was the nice walk.
We a great environment is this, we took a lot of pictures and at the end found the cache in a typical caches location... very clear for a geocacher, muggles will never take notice

Also solved this one before traveling, but that was just doing homework right? The final location was a spot that Indiana Jones would have checked for relics. TFTC
Must admit solved this one from home and popped the coordinates in to the GPSr. In the area today and we greatly enjoyed the lovely walk around the area - it really is a fascinating and beautiful place to visit and well worth the time spent.
Did the full walk about and got to GZ where we decided this was where the cache should be and Mrs Tuolei was on to it in a flash and made a startlingly quick and easy find where I expected it would be quite challenging. Well done to her.
Signed in and got all replaced as found in its hidey-hole. All good here and thanks for the cache. IN: Travel bug.

Having solved this one a little while ago in preparation for our caving trip, I was hoping to pick it up when we came down on a previous scouting trip to see if we could find the 'Whalers' tracks. That time we were running a little late so had to save it to the actual day of the cave adventure.
Had a great walk around this very scenic track with Tuolei to the spot we had worked out where it should be. The GPS was a little bouncy in this area and there looked to be plenty of places to look but Mrs Tuolei made a great find here almost right away.
Thanks for the cache in this beautiful area.

We were returning from a week at National Park and detoured out to Waitomo to collect a few caches. Near the information board was a group of muggles waiting for their tour guide before entering the caves. We found the necessary info and did the required calculations before setting off to explore this area. No problems with finding the cache thanks to the hint. Favourite point for bringing us to this amazing area.
For our Christmas vacations, we stay for two days in Hong Kong and then two weeks in New Zealand : a lot of geocaches are on our way, including that one !
Geocaching : a good opportunity to discover the area.
One favorite point ! ! !
Merci beaucoup pour cette cache !

That was a really beautiful walk! Thanks a lot for placing this multi cache here!
After the visit of the Ruakuri cave, the guide advices me to take the bush walk at night to see some more glowworms. So I did! And that has also been the opportunity for another cache . Of course at night, it's a bit tricky, getting the info to calculate the final coordinates was a fairly easy task, even though, some text appeared hard to read under the flash light. But in the end, it turned out to be fairly ok. The walk is pretty fantastic at night, a bit too bad, many other tourists seemed totally unable to enjoy the area and the atmosphere, they just rushed through the path shouting, laughing and completely oblivious of other people around.
Anyway, that has not prevented me from enjoying the moment.
Arrived by the point, the GPS appears a bit playful, I walked the path up and down a few times before starting to drop the idea and have a DNF . But I'm pretty stubborn, one last round with thorough look at every detail, lead me to spot something a bit too odd to be innocent, and surely there was the box Good to be stubborn in geocaching . I hear voices coming up, so I quickly log and put it back in place before muggles show up and leave the area undisturbed

I helped find this cache on our North Island family holiday. We went to some museums, visited friends and family, did some walks and found some interesting caches.
I had a good time travelling all over the North Island finding caches. It was nice to find some different types of caches/hides from what I'm used to. Thanks to all the COs for setting them up.
Day seven of our epic North Island road trip to visit friends and family as well find a few caches along the way. The boys don't like lots of stops so it is important to pick which ones we are going to hunt for. The earth cache nearby meant this walk was high on my list. I brought the listing up while we were still in the car and we had the numbers solved rather quickly.
The youngest was the only one who didn't need to bend over as we made our way away. Oldest son had the GPSr and made a quick find while I was still figuring out where GZ was. It is after all all about team work isn't it.
Cache found with KNv2.0, MCB, and BFC
Thanks for the hide, an interesting area to visit.

Solved the puzzle on our way into the walkway. At WP2 the cache could be spotted quickly. Thanks for placing this cache at this amazing spot of NZ.
Great trail! Well worth the walk. I love New Zeeland hides like this. Beautiful place yet it is right there.
Was rather a puzzle cache than a multi as we already figured out the final coords at the i-site. After visiting some caves we did the walk in the morning sun to collect the cache...
Found it even in the dark, thanks to the hint. Beautiful walk among glow worms tonight!
Another weekend road trip with my mom. This time we are on our way down to Mt Ruapehu. Enjoyed a stop at the Waitomos Cave for some leg stretching. Easy find after solving the questions. TFTC
What a nice walk! The place is beautiful. Cache in good conditions.

We enjoyed this hike very much. It is a fine combination of rainforest, tunnels and more. We will go back this night to see the glowworms.

Yesterday I walked with my mom from Waitomo to the starting point of the Bush Walk and picked up the information for this cache. But it was too late to go there. Fortunately a nice ranger brought us back... today I come back and after visiting the really great Aranui Cave I walked along the amazing Ruakuri Bush Walk. Quick find with the hint.
Thanks for showing and greetings from Germany!

We spent the day visiting the 3 commercial caves in the area. After these tours were over we came back to this reserve to do the bush walk and pick up this multi as well. Great track with many interesting places to explore. We all loved it. Cache found fairly quickly. Deserves a favourite point. Thanks for bringing us here.
Found with Gmccul & Ellehcim2001.
Visiting NZ and currently completing our Waitomo stretch of the journey.
If it wasnt for this cache or the earth cache we would never have discovered this enchanting place.
Thanks for placing and maintaining. Found with relative ease. FP for placing and helping us find this place.

3150 I had done my homework on this one before coming to the area but did read the information board. I really enjoyed the walk around the track. The tunnel excursions are what helps to make it most interesting. All quiet at GZ today. The only people I saw on the track were 4 lions supporters and a DOC worker having his lunch. Cache quickly located. Signed and returned. Thanks for the placement and bringing me back to the area.
My plan for today after leaving taranaki for rotorua was to make a bee line for caches in this area, in particular the virtual. So I stopped off here and punched in the data (note the info board is back). Wasn't going to do the earth cache but stumbled across the required info on the way. It took me a little bit of time at gz to locate, but then I moved something and hello that doesn't sound like nature. What a great place, I'm really pleased I stopped off for this multi.
This is an amazing spot for a cache. First time here. Walk along the waitomo walkway to this track. Been a great outing. Found cache easily. Good hint. Left a tb to carry on its travels. Tftc
Thanks for placing this multicache. I learned things, and got to take a very beautiful hike, and find a geocache. Had a great time! Greetings from Canada
The family Tognisserne ( can be translated into Train Pixies ) is on vacation from Denmark to New Zealand.
Was visiting the Waitomo cafes. While waiting for our tour I managed to find the needed information ... and shortly thereafter the cache itself.

Gps was a little off but as mentioned in other posts, the hint helped. With Indiana Jill.

Yesterday I drove down to Waitomo from the Coromandel, and went Blackwater Rafting in the Ruakuri Cave. I had first done Blackwater Rafting soon after it was started, in 1991, as part of a school geography trip. It was fun to repeat the adventure in my 40s!
Having emerged from my Blackwater Rafting adventure along the DOC track, I was keen to revisit to walk the track in dry clothes. To call this walk stunning doesn't really do it justice. I loved the bush scenery, the rock formations and the surprises around every corner. Absolutely one of the highlights of my holiday this year. Found the cache easily using the hint, and returned back to the carpark very happy indeed.

Ruakuri Bush Walk is awesome! So many amazing natural features in such a short walk!
I feared that with the dense tree cover and all the caves and tunnels the GPS coordinates will be unreliable but they turned out to be quite good and the cache was easy to find anyway.
Definitely recommend this walk to everyone visiting the Waitomo caves vicinity.

Together with arbor95 I am on a holiday tour in New Zealand.
We are two Germans, old friends since a long time. Together we visited a lot of other countries in the past, even before we started geocaching. [^]
For our trip we usually looking for some extraordinary caches.
For this cache the GPS not really helped, but with the hint it was essy to find. The logbook is full and we putted my business card in.
Thank You very much for this geocache, for the challenge and for the maintaining.

We have found this cache after visiting Glowworm Cave and before Aranui Cave, which we liked both very much. The distance of final coords from carpark is not too big, but it takes some time to get there, so we had to run on our way back to be on time to our Aranui visit.
The log is completely full and should be replaced.

At World’s End – New Zealand – One of our dream become true.
Our plan was to stay 4 weeks in New Zealand. But this wasn’t this easy to manage at work. So we moved spontanic the plan from march to november. We informed us before about point of interessts. The list was this long so we decided to go by campervan from the north to the south to have the most mobility. We arrived after way to much hours in Auckland and started there our round trip. At first we enjoyed the area in auckland and the north. In Waitomo we were able to see and enjoy glohworms in one of the famous caves. But this area had a lot of nice hiking trails were we could discovered the Piripiri Caves, Natural Bridge and the Marokopa Falls. This was already impressive to see and still the beginning of our adventure for life. The trip went on over Okere Falls Scenic Reserve direction Rotorua. In this area we enjoyed each hour, because each corner was different. We visited the Haumurana Springs – what amazing water -, Blue Lake and Green Lake and relaxed in Kerosene Creek. We liked all the water and in our travel guide we found a hike cloth to the Huka Falls, which ofcourse we did as well. All this flowers were bloom. One oft the Highlights was Wai-O-Tapu. The weather was perfect and all this colors awesome and the geysir a nice shower. By Campercan the to tour went on direction Tongariro Alpine with a short stop at Orakei Korako and the Tongariro River Loop Track. Lu like nice hiking tours and what could be the best for her birthday? Of course the famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing. We started early in the morning and walked approximately 9 hours over gras, stones, snow and colorful water. Now we had to leave the Heart of North New Zealand and went over Taranaki Falls to the East Coast with the goal Napier. The weather was cloudy and often raining but a small sightseeing was a must have. The last stop on the North Irland was Wellington. But it was only raining and some streets were already flooded. That’s why we change spontanic our plan and only did the First Cache of New Zealand and went by ship over the Marlboro Sound to Picton. We went over Farewell Spit to the lonely Wharariki Beach with sea lions. On the way back to the big streets we stopped at Waikoropupu Spring and Janie Sesson Shipwreck and drove untypical to Karamea. In Germany we do not have this much and public caves and that’s way we enjoyed this area! Cloth to the West Coast we took a look at the Pancake Rocks. The weather was just raining and so we could not see the Franz Josef and Fox Glacier, but we still visited them. We leaved the bad weather in the hills and enjoyed the Sun at Ship Creek, Thunder Creek, Fantail Falls and the Blue Pools. Wow they were relly blue and this clean and deep. I never saw something similar before. About Wanaka we read a lot in our travel guide and looked forward to it. There arrived we visited the Puzzling World and walked around the sea. Queenstown the next town we drove just through because at this time there was a marathon and it was really campervan unfriendly. So we used the time and drove to Milford Sound and enjoyed the hills surround us on the water. I never felt this small. After we are landed again on land the trip goes on to the Chasm and Clifden Caves and the Clifden Suspension Bridge. Wow what an adventure. At the end we visited a few cities like Bluff, Duneding, Moeraki Boulders and Christchurch were our Trip sadly ends.
At all this places we looked for nice and unique caches which shows us places which we never would had seen without. We enjoyed the nature and wildlife each day and it was really an adventure for life. At the end we drove approximately 5000 kilometeres and felt this relaxed.
Thanks to all owners for placing this caches and this much informations which we got about the particular areas. This was an adventure for life for us. Thanks for this beauty time.

Found this cache today together with SpookyEyes on our way back to the south with our campervan. We did a trip through the caves and after that we looked for this great multi. Thank you for hiding it.

After a semester abroad in New Zealand, I travel around the country with MMXX now. There are plenty of amazing spots to discover.
Thanks for placing a geocache here and sorry that I keep my logs short.

We were in Waitomo for a bit of R&R whilst remembering our fallen angle... Had a hunch where this final might be after reading the cache page so headed out for a little tramp... Arrived at GZ after completing the maths required and soon had the cache in hand.
Cache is in good shape.

Nice walk with redsoxbean after some cave tours. Found it just before it was too dark to see. TFTC. From Pennsylvania, USA
On our journey to New Zealand, xhead and I travelled to the South and the North Island and to Stewart Island. We had a lot of fun hiking in these great landscapes, viewing a lot of interesting animals and nice peoples. Sometimes a little treasure likes this Cache was crossing our way. Thank you very much for hiding this Cache in this amazing place.

Akirey and I visited in April and May New Zealand. First we decided to look around on the South Island including Steward Island then we went to the North Island.
All the time we enjoyed our trip. We saw a lot of sweet animals, amazing landscapes and met many nice people.
Also we searched for some caches. This one was one of them.
Thanks for hiding and greetings from Frankonia

Found with Minyakano on a nice night walk around the track. A great place to visit and definitely impressive at night. Thanks for the cache
Worked out the coords for GZ while watching the hordes of trail running & cave touring muggles streaming by. This led me to a nice walk the next day along the course I'd missed out on the day before due to injury so was rapt to take in the absolutely amazing scenery. The cache is fine but could use a cleanout perhaps & some new log paper soon sorry I didn't come better equipped.

This is why I love geocaching. Whilst I probably would have visited this place the draw of a geocache took me further than I would have gone. Worked out second stage and off I went. Quite a few muggles with children today so had to wait to grab the cache but stealth mode was engaged.
this was our first multicache in nz. it was a very lovely walk. thanks for showing and the cache, greetings from germany.
On the way on the waitomo track we arrived here and had a short break and had e a look at the informationboards and made the calculation to get the coordinates .
A nice hidingspot, very awesome place out here, found on this nice and easy walk we have done today.
Thanks for the hide and the maintain.

Solved the puzzle on the way in and almost forgot about it! Followed the hint and boom there it was!! Beautiful location
Stopped on my weekend Road Trip to geocaching event in Whangamata, as there's usually too many muggles about. But at 6pm on a wet Friday evening I almost had the place all to myself. Came to this one on the recommendation of a friend. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk in the rain for eventually an easy grab. Had the whole track to myself, getting out just before dark. TFTC well deserves another FP
Very nice walk, liked it a lot.
Many things to see after I visited the caves.
Thank you for the cache.
Answers are on its way.

After visiting the caves wie walked this wonderful trail. After the coordinates were clear it was easy to find. Enjoyed it very much. Tftc
The car had a workless day because we walked from Waitango Village to Ruakuri and back. Now there are no more geocaches to find, so we have to leave
Thanks
Thanks
Nice little walkway, we really enjoyed it. On the way the black water rafters came out of the cave. The cache was easy to find, because of the detailed description. GPS was a little bit jumpy here.
Thanks for the cache!

We camped at the top 10 Waitomo Caves holiday park after doing the epic 7 hour Lost World cave expedition yesterday, and went to stretch our legs this morning with the much shorter hike around this loop. We gathered the information required for the nearby Earthcache and to calculate the waypoint to finish this multi. The walk was stunning and we had the place to ourselves at this time. We were glad for the hint as my device was "11 metres away, plus or minus 26 metres" when found! Thanks for the smiley!
Because of the earthcache we also did this little multi. On the car park we quickly got the final cordinates and the fitted to our walkway plan. So we went there and after some search i could find the container. The hint is very good but the GPS was all over.

After working out the coordinates we headed off to find this cache but the GPS wouldn't work in the forest! Stopped on the bridge and got an update on the GPS reading which put me 200m away, but that was it for the GPS so thankfully with the hint we managed to find the cache. TNLN TFTC
More than 21 years have passed since my first visit to New Zealand. In 1994, I was only 12 days here, but this time I wanted to see the country a little more. Then I realized there would be a MEGA-Event in Christchurch at Labour-Weekend. I started my trip a day earlier and was happy to attend my first MEGA outside of Germany. I got much help from the cachers there, so I could visit the different event places without using the bus or a taxi. Later on the tour with my group, I could only look at the caches nearby.
Today we participated in the Black Water Rafting and after this funny experience we also made a night walk in this reserve. We only used the red LED of my headlamp and I still think this was a bad idea. We saw the glow worms, OK, but not much of the path. So we walked very slowly. Later, when the rest of the group left for the campsite, I stayed to look for this cache. Without these Muggels it was a quick find. After I had been searching for the answers of the earthcache, I walked the Waitomo Walkway back to the village and got really wet trousers. Too much grass on the way…

We came to Waitomo to go tubing through the blackness of the underground river, not just for fun, but to see the world famous glow worms. Or, "Glowing maggots of doom", our guide called them). [Really cool btw - a must-see if you have the chance !!!]. Eventually, after about 2 hours of floating in the dark, we emerged out of the cave onto a trail, which turned out to be: (1) the amazing Ruakuri Bushwalk trail [another must-see if you have the chance !!!], and, (2) not too far from this cache's final. We knew we had to come back to collect the cache as an extra souvenir of our amazing day. The cache was a quick find, thanx to the excellent hint, which was just as well because of GPS unreliability in the area, which is why the hint was so good in the first place. Thanks for giving us an extra reason to visit this spectacular area. Gets a fav!
Found it with Team FIN [janahola, kapeka, laalaa & temyllyl]
We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!

Fourth day on our geo-roadtrip in New Zealand, and caching our way towards south. Logged using our group nickname FIN with janahola, laalaa and kapeka. Driving to south and heading to Christchurch Mega event. Todays mission was to visit Ruakuri tunnels and other interesting places via some caches of coarse!
Found this during walking Ruakuri Bushwalk and finding information to Earth cache! Nice camouflage!

Welcome to MEGA Finland in 5-7 august 2016!
Today we drove from Hamilton to Whanganui and stopped to some caches on the way. This was fast find with a good hint. TFTC!

Thanks! Visiting these beautiful caves from Canada. Dropped off a geocoin destined for New Zealand since 2011...proud to be the one to complete the journey!
Had a day of exploring the Waitomo Caves then decided to do the walk to find this cache, so pleased we did, a great walk it was. TFTC
This has been my favourite cache of our trip to New Zealand so far. We went to the Glowworm Caves and took the trip through on the boat. That was an amazing experience. After, we decided to do this cache. We drove to the beginning and checked out the information board. A note for the cache owner: the information currently given in the cache notes for one of the questions is actually still on the board, if you want to remove it from the cache notes.
We did the calculation and proceeded to head for the cache. It was at the beginning of the track that we saw a group returning with wetsuits and rubber tubes from one of the caves. I would have loved to have done that, but we simply didn't have time this weekend. We proceeded along the track. As we got closer to the cache I began to regret leaving the GoPro camera in the car. This landscape, the river, even the track which leads you through a mini-cave, were all spectacular.
We eventually got to the cache spot and found it easily with the hint.
I wish I could give more than one favourite for this cache. An excellent experience. Thanks for taking us there.

What a fantastic place for a cache! We had the choice of grabbing a few more traditionals before heading to Rotorua or taking a walk for this one and the nearby earthcache. No choice really - we went for the interesting walk and two excellent caches.
All the information needed is back on the information board now, and the calculations were easy. All we had to do was take the great walk and make an easy find at the end.
Highly recommended cache for anyone visiting the area [:d]
Thanks

Out on a family drive today, car loaded up, dog thrown in the back. Decided to head down this way to explore some caches and some nice short kid friendly walks. This was the first stop of the day and we were soon on our way with info gathered. We had an explore of the area first before heading to the final and enjoyed this area immensely. Thanks for the nice multi that wasn't too straining on mind or body.
stopped by to get the earthcache after work and decided a multi should be attempted too! should have brought my torch! tftc
