I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Hi KiwiLeon
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.
Regards

Can't find the geocache and the last 3 people couldn't either... My suspicion is that it is missing
This was another suburb I hadn't been to. My dad lived in Howick when they first came to New Zealand in the 40's after the war. They later moved up to farm in the Hokianga. The boys came back to the boarding school at nearby Sacred Heart. It was a huge journey in those days. They had to get to Okaihau first. Then they caught the train from there down to Auckland. There must have been another bus to get from the CBD out here. It was neat to drive past his old school today. Thanks for replacing this cache. It was easy to find and it did indeed have a great view
Found the old lid and replaced it with a new log book & container! Happy hunting guys
We searched for ages before checking the log & realising it probably is not there (first search)
However we are going back tomorrow to put the exact same description in so please continue to search this spot!

Didn't read the logs until after I had tried finding it. All I found was a broken bottle top with some camo tape on. Could do with a visit, as others have stated.
Nice location even on a grey day.

What a lovely view! Thanks f bringing me to this spot. Lid was broken, needs maintenance. Tftc!
Interesting to learn about the history of this spot, that also happens to have awesome views. Found easily enough. TFTC
What an awesome find... Nice and easy and child friendly. First geoch for nz have been oversea and done a few there at least here there are no snakes or nasties
Over from Australia visiting my cousin. After spending the day in the city I took the bus back to Howick getting off close to this location. After a short walk and a quick look, the prize and TB were soon in my hand. TFTC
Had plans to meet up with some cachers in Maraetai in the afternoon, so I headed out this way beforehand to find some caches. A nice walk to GZ and a lovely little memorial seat.
Good easy find, Awesome view
The lid is loose so needs water proofing or a new lid.
Myself EvilEva11 & Sinautus & I left the cave to get the find so was memorable.

Nice cache. Was dark but we managed to find it with the light from our phone flashlights.
Last cache for the day, but not by choice, Broken GPS brought everything to a halt....but at least we found the cache
Great hiding spot! Needs some more log paper though! Sorry we didn’t have any on us as this was our first geocache!
Phew thank goodness for the lack of bushes at GZ. Was rewarded with both a quick easy find and a nice view as mentioned. Tftc
Awesome view. Wow drive past regularly but have never stopped to admire t view. Thanks for allowing t access to stop
This was a great spot to admire the view and name Auckland's Eastern Islands. I looked directly where the cache was and still didn't see it. Geocchi's sharp eyes spotted it. Tftc
Had a nice evening stroll up stockade hill and were able to find this cache while there. Very well hidden, thank you!
Found while out caching with TwigNZ. Found cache quickly after a bit of a hunt around. Signed log and replaced as found TFTC
Happy to get my 2018 Geocaching year started in a positive way. I'm spending a couple of weeks in Auckland for a change, and have flown my lad up to spend the 2nd week with me and to give him a chance to catch up with a few that I had already found up here, but also for the pair of us to discover lots of new ones together.
So this was a quick trip out get my lad's 200th cache and a few others along the way. We found ourselves in Howick, and decided to grab a couple of quick and easy ones whilst here. This one definitely filled the bill. I had never been up Stockade Hill before, and was blown away by the great views from the summit. We took a few moments to read up on the history of the place before finding GZ after which it was a quick signing of the log. The Cache had obviously been affected by damp recently. The log was almost completely mushed inside the canister, and the previous finder had left an EFTPOS receipt as a temporary replacement log.
As always, I am eternally grateful for all the CO's who make the effort to place Caches to be found, so thanks to the CO for putting it out there, and Happy New Year to you!

Picked up on a walk over the hill to the village.
Paper added to the geotrash, hopefully it will do as a log for awhile.
