### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###

----------

Hi there mada1234,

It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is an issue. The cache has been temporarily disabled, so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location until the issues/s with this cache can be addressed.

**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days, so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.**

#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-

- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache and repair and/or replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ). Then sit back and wait for the logs of praise to roll in.

- **Place A Write Note Log::-** Reviewers are not mind readers (unfortunately), so without your note on the cache page explaining that the site works are on-going, you have been in hospital, the area is in flood, or some other reason that has prevented attending to the cache, they can't tell what is going on.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and when a Reviewer next looks at the listing, all will be fine for a little bit longer.
**Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks, so as to keep everyone up to speed.**

- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56), so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.

You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when a Reviewer next looks at the cache page, it is likely that they will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) on the basis that it has been abandoned.

Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

**JUST A TIP:-** Have you checked out the new Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own? Have a read about it [**HERE.**](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2020/07/welcome-to-the-cache-owner-dashboard/?newsletter=PM) You will find your very own dash board [**HERE**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/owner?utm_source=geocaching&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=COD).

Thanks for your cooperation,

Bunjil

###**CACHE OWNER PLEASE NOTE**###

----------

This cache would seem to have had some welcomed action on behalf of the CO by a Good Samaritan - 'heymissjo', so it fortunately lives for another day.

Please remember that cache maintenance arrangements need to be proactive, not reactive. This means regular visits (by the CO) to check on the cache and not relying on or expect passing seekers to fix issues or replace missing caches.

Even though a Good Samaritan has addressed the issue, there is still a need to Enable the cache - see here: [**Temporarily Disable and Enable**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235) and then remove the "Needs Maintenance" attribute. You can do this by logging a "Owner Maintenance" log - see this Help Centre article: "[**Removing the Needs Maintenance Icon.**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404 )"

**I have removed the NM attribute and Enabled the cache for you on this occasion.**

Heymissjo and I had just emerged from the tortuously windy stretch of the Omeo Hwy to the south, when Heymissjo suggested pulling over here.
We are suckers for cemetery stops!

HMJ did her good deed and replaced the damaged cache with a new log and new container, while I kept us safe from the bovine cache guardians with a trick Mick Dundee taught me, lol!
Such a serene place to be laid to rest, with a view of the hills, lazy cattle and majestic elms(?) in the pastures across the road.
Granite Flat is so serene, they even paint the electricity transmission towers green!
I love it!

It was interesting to read the historic info boards before leaving. I hadn't even noticed the unusual brickwork on the church building until then!

Thanks so much, mada1234.

Driving passed whilst on a road trip with The Welder we noticed this small cemetery and a cache in need of some TLC. Despite the paddocked cows and bulls, we strode across the paddocks, dodging the paddies and headed towards the small cemetery. For such a small place, I was surprised to see so many ‘Johanna’s… it’s quite an unusual name. Although my name doesn’t include a ‘h’, it nearly did. My Dad outvoted my mum on the spelling. I’m just a Joanna, but known mainly as jo (or heymissjo)

Anyway, I happened to have some left over old caching stuff in the car, so we removed the broken cache container and disintergrated log and replace it by a new log and pencil, in a small bag, in a new container. This cache is good to enable for the next finder. Thanks for the cache.

### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###

----------

Hi there mada1234,

One or more logs indicate that this cache appears to be in need of owner intervention, so it is being temporarily disabled. This is to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location until the issues/s with this cache are investigated/addressed.

Whilst it is recognized that as a result of the current Covid-19 situation, it might not be possible for a Cache Owner to just pop out and check on a cache straight away, we still need to know that you are on top of the issue. Caches where the cache owner does not currently feel it is safe to maintain will not be archived in the normal time frame, as long as there is some indication from the CO.

**You do need to respond within 14 days, so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this cache. Please don't let a lack of communication kill this placement.**

#What you should do now:-#
- Should you feel it safe for you to maintain and address this cache now, AND your regional Health and Governmental authorities allow it, please feel free to do so.

- **Alternatively,** what you need to do is place a 'Write Note' log indicating an expected date when you you hope you might be able to attend to the issue/s.
**The Write Note log should be placed within 14 days.**

#Please Note#
When a Reviewer next looks in on this cache, if there is no acknowledgment from the CO as requested above, the Reviewer will assume the cache has been abandoned and process accordingly.

Beautiful little cemetery, great spot. I could only find the container with no lid and 2 bits of paper. Needs replacing urgently. Nice hide TFTC

16-Mar-21
Alas, only the base and my makeshift logsheet remain. Some TLC definitely needed on this one.

15-Mar-21
Even though this was a hundred metres off the road, I decided to stop by for a look. Once at GZ though, things were looking rather DNFish. Just as I was about to head off, I spotted the base of the container lying on the ground a few metres away from the object of the hint.

A quick look aroung revealed nothing else so I signed a piece of scrap at 13:55 and replaced the container where the hint indicated.

Some TLC definitely needed on this one.

TN Left logsheet, SL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks mada1234.

Cache description failed to mention that you need to cross a paddock to get to the cemetery. Said paddock full of protective mama cows. Once in the cemetery we had a cursory look around but were convinced the cows were planning a pincer movement attack, so we didn’t hang around, we made a quick dash for the church and safety instead!

Quick find. Very interesting history. The local cows watched my activity. TFTC mada1234.

Driving through from Corryong to Lakes Entrance with Ausyowie. He knows I’m a sucker for cemeteries, (especially old, pioneering cemeteries when I have my camera with me) so we had to stop. Left Ausyowie to the hunt whilst I played with the camera. He wasn’t having much luck, till I walked over and said “there it is”

Up this way to do some fishing for the next month. Taking in the Goulburn, Kiewa, Mitta and Omeo Valleys. Focus is mainly on fishing, but any cache is likely to be nabbed along the way.

We are unable to log details when on the move so have used "Log Later" as a filler till we return.

Thanks for your patience and the cache. mada1234
Nice find after moving from Kiewa valley to Mitta Valley.

Always meant to stop here on previous occasions. Thanks for bringing us back, with an excuse to stop and absorb some of the rich history in this area.

Lots of Irish settlers in this area from the headstones.

Camping on the Mitta Mitta River over the long weekend and spent time doing a spot of sightseeing. Passed this cemetery on the way to Mitta Mitta so called in on the way back to camp. Geocaching Pa had given up but geocaching Nan down on her knees spotted the find. Great information on the history, its hard to imagine what life would have been like here over 100 years ago. TFTC.

We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the Land Down Under" ...

First we had a look at the cool old church then paid our respect to the residents. After an interesting look around we got down to the searching. With the help of the hint and really good look we came up a find. Cache was well hidden and appears to not have been found in quite some time. Cool

After signing the log we replaced it back in it's hidey hole.

Thanks for an interesting hide !

Been spending the long weekend caching around the High Country with friends Harrowang. Duty calls and they returned home yesterday. We found this at 1:20pm, must be getting to know our new GPS as it took us straight there! Oh yes, and I happened to be standing in that "sweet" spot. The cows across the road had a sweet spot too! Mother and Father dragon out by themselves! The young dragon spending time with friends allowed this strange phenomena to occur, so why not grab a few geocaches whilst spending a weekend away from home.
This was find number seven for the day. What a pretty place, and now quite lonely place. Dragons and bears enjoy exploring old cemeteries, and this one was no exception. After the brief walk across the paddock, we found a cow and calf in the cemetery. The calf left by crashing the fence, probably the way it got in, and the cow with a little encouragement left is spot right at GZ to wander around but not find the way out of the cemetery.
We looked hard, then harder but no luck. On the third round, a lucky place to stand allowed a glimpse of something out of place. Not much showing as a result of rain, cows and general time since last find. However, the cache is in good condition. TNLN. SL. Carefully replaced cache in its hideout. The cow was not interested in leaving via the gate, so left it in peace, still in the cemetery.

TFTC mada1234.

I stopped at the olde church for a quick squizz first Smile
An empty shell is all that is left !!
I bet it is full of ghosts !! [:o]

And from the spooky church, I headed across the cow paddock to the spooky cemetery Smile
A quick inspection of the stones revealed some olde, some new.
The lastest installment in the continuing history of this cemetery was in 2009 !!

The cache did not want to show itself !!
After a couple of searches I couldn't find it Red Face
A third look finally discovered the ruse !!

All good with the cache.

I'd visited this spot last November, the day of the big storm that ripped through here. The weather caused havoc with my GPSr with it refusing to give me any accuracy better than 100m.

Today, however was a different story. The weather was good, the GPSr was accurate and the find was made.

About a year ago, on 14/03/2011, when we were camped in the valley with our caravan owners club, we wrote a note about not finding this one. It was a note and not a DNF because we wondered whether it was still there to be found. Fellow Trackmaster owners and geocachers logged a DNF the day before. Back this year for another Gathering we had an idle look at the page and there they were, six finds logged from 06/04/11. What's going on here? So off we went, back to GZ, and the cache was in hand at 3.30 pm (we don't say 'easy', it's so aggravating when you can't find it and others say 'easy', 'quick', and so on). When the logbook was read it all fell into place - or did it? There was the first entry dated 06/04/11. Then there was an entry dated 13/08/11 by DazRascal who found both the new and the old containers. So mada1234 hid a new container? After our note? But the old container wasn't removed at that time, so could even the owner not find it? More questions than answers. Pity Geotrecaz is not also along this year. The bottom line is we enjoyed the drive up the valley and the revisit to this interesting site, thank you mada1234. Left a little pressie for the next finder or mada1234 if you want to pick it up. 2nd on a day out with Haveanez to pick up a few around Dartmouth and towards Omeo.

Interesting area for a quick stop. Bit of a shame the old church is in bit of wreck and ruin, good info on the plaque with a bit of the history of it.

Big Ez watched as I made the easy find, then proceeded to show me where the original one was and hey presto, I had 2 containers in my hand so signed both logs. To save confusion we rescued the old container and left the new.

Thanks for the interesting point of interest.

TNLN, Cheers.

Posting a note only at ths stage, rather than a DNF, because we had four pairs of eyes and hands searching unsuccessfully and really think it has probably gone. Some action to follow.

13-Mar-11
The three of us spent some time looking for this one without success. Found half a pencil and part of a shuttlecock that had obviously been contents of the container.

06-Mar-11
This one took a little bit to find, and when we did - all we found was the note book. On a wider search of the area, we located the lid, then the clip top container, so we put it back together and hid it in what we believed was the hiding spot. It was sad to see this one had been damaged, but hopefully it is now back where it should be. TFTC
