Looked all around at GZ and even disturbed a poor ringtail possum's slumber in a possible hiding spot. No luck today.
We are staying in Gray's point for the long weekend, and decided to take advantage of the good weather and kayaks and go for an explore. Of course we had to check out if there were any caches nearby, and we're able to find this one relatively close by. Approaching the cache we were surprised to see two teens having some PG rated fun on the sand, making it a lot harder to look. We started as far away from them as possible, and as luck would have it it was only at the very end when we were about to give up that we found it right near where they were frolicking. Had forgotten a pen, so we're very happy to see that there was a pencil inside! Then off we popped back into the kayak to paddle home. Tftc!
After work i decided to go a bit farther than i usually would at this time of the day and grab The Gra. I needed it to tick Grays Point off of my Sutherland Shire Cachers Challenge.
After parking at the end of Grays Point Rd i headed down the track to the GZ.
Thanks to the clue i was able to spot the cache straight away and soon had things signed and replaced.
As it was low tide i sat on a nearby rock and looked out over the sand bar and the river as i was writing my comment and enjoyed the cool, peaceful evening.
It was worth the pain of peak hour traffic to find this spot.
Thanks.

I came from 'The Bra' to find 'The Gra'. The dingo cache guardian is still looking after the cache. TFTC Usat31
#2364 headed down here this morning to get a few caches with this one being the first, parked nearby and walked down it was a quick find at GZ.
With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache Usat31
After replacing the cache went for a walk along the sandbank towards the mangroves

OCW the Bebes we found this pretty quickly after a search around GZ. Lovely spot and we found a little guardian nearby that we left with the cache. Tftc
A stunning location !
The water was out when we arrived today so we had plenty of time to explore the area.
After we’d found the cache we also spotted a dingo toy that we added as a guardian

Found on the 1/7 with blissbaby. Such a nice spot. We left our kayaks said hello to the passing muggles then set out searching around for this cahe. We walked around and climbed into small spots, we went up and down and then found it thanks to the help of a trusty mobile light. Happy caching!
found with chubbytryhard on a kayaking journey round the area. we ended up being defeated by the chilly wind but will no doubt be back again someday. this cache had us stumped for a little while, we went up, we went back down, we poked our heads in dodgy places and eventually spotted the cache with the help of a phone torch. by the time we had faffed around and signed the log the boats had nearly decided to venture off on their own. spoiler photos helped in the end. tftc Usat31
19/2/17. 8:35 AM. Cache #4773.
2nd of 4 finds (& 1 DNF) - Grays Point & Sutherland
After redeeming a prior DNF at "Butch", I drove around towards this one. I had seen the past two logs, (one DNF and one found) and from both of these I'd gleaned that it was a good idea to get a good look at past log photos. Before I got too far down Grays Point Rd, I noticed that I still had good phone reception, so pulled over and downloaded all past log photos onto my phone.
Drove the rest of the way to the end of the road and walked down towards the point. A muggle was down at water level, playing fetch with his mutt. I found a safe way down and soon saw a feature that suited one of the spoiler photos. Thoroughly checking around this area, I soon made the find. SL, replaced the cache and went back up to the car; only a short drive from here to "Swallow Rock". TFTC.

Another pleasant evening in The Shire with friends, so came out early in the heat to grab a few caches.
Decided to concentrate in one area near Gymea to try to clear it out.
Went for five and found four - one cache just doesn't like me...
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Back for another DNF here.
When I arrived there were two dogs and their pet muggles coming back over the sandbar - really low tide. They were on their way out as the weather was starting to turn.
Searched high and low but nothing after 30 minutes. No phone coverage so couldn't check as much info on the listing as I'd have liked.
Time to get to my friends' place.
I guess I'll have to come back again. Eventually.

Note to those coming after me. Go first to the place you think it SHOULD be. The coords were all over the place, which is understandable in a place like this. It is hidden in the place it should be hidden. I enjoyed the runaround, so i'm not going to say mach more. Just look at photos of previous posts and it will all make sense.
Third attempt at trying to find this Geocaching, and thought I'd try again another time, found it within five minutes of looking, pretty good hiding spot. Found it with Natashak._ and my dog Lucy.
Arrived on ANZAC Day and a beautiful Autumnal day with Brewmaker to a serene location that I had never been to before. After reading some of the previous logs I thought that we might be in for a long time searching. Once the gps settled I started searching in a likely spot. Got down low then glanced up, and there was the cache staring back at me. So it turned out to be nice easy cache find. Signed the log, took a tb, and replaced it carefully. TFTC
After attending my local ANZAC Day Dawn Service, I decided to go caching with Mikev1 to grab "The Gra". Having read that so many previous loggers had difficulty finding it, I wasn't feeling confident. Especially when there is little or no signal down by the water, and your compass seems locked in one direction! However the tide was out this morning, so we ventured on as at least my phone was showing the distance to GZ was getting nearer. Almost immediately, Mikev says "Here it is!". I couldn't believe our luck, given the last finder said he took 7 hours! GPS said 5m away, but given the lack of signal that seems pretty good.
A good sized container, with contents and log in good condition. I made a few swaps while Mikev took the TB. A beautiful place in The Shire that I had never ventured to before, yet so close to home. Thanks for bringing me to such a calm and peaceful location. The local fishermen and women were lucky to have such warm autumn conditions today. TFTC. Lest We Forget! #557

There was a massive spider on it when I got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Read the clue before starting the search and phone had me all over the shop. Once a had married down gz it took me longer than it prob should've (usual story for me). Due to my height i was looking too high. However when i was just about to give up there it was. TFTC great location.
Happy Valentines Day
Dinner with friends in the Shire tonight, after a few false starts over the last few weeks. So, as usual, arrived in the area early to grab a few caches.
Decided on a multi (the quality of old multis in the Shire really is excellent) and then whatever else I could fit in around Gymea / Grays Point.
Got three with a few DNFs and a DNAttempt.
After dinner grabbed two more by torchlight.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Finaly attempt before dinner - but there are muggles on beach chairs right at GZ.
Disappointed and did not attempt as a result.
Methinks I need a weekday.

Found with Seemyshell on 16.1.16 and as an added bonus we met some other local cachers. TFTC
After 6 attempts it took the arrival of seemyshells to walk straight up and say (oh here it is) I nearly cried ,well it's done and I can get on with my life
Well didn't find it... Was there when it was found.... Thanks guys. It was awesome to meet up in the field... Glad the 7th visit yielded a result, even if it wasn't by my own hand!
Loved having the geokids along

TFTC - this is our 2nd attempt at this one. 1st attempt was 'muggled' out.
Met a few other Geocachers at GZ, and within a few minuites my Partner in Geocrime (Ali600) had the CIH.
Signed the Log and returned.
Great spot.

Low tide here so off to work we went. Took a little while going up and down several times, obviously we didn't look too well, until we rechecked and there it is.

Third time lucky for this one. We asked for a hint from a previous hider and got a clue which matched about 50% of the area. But it have me the courage to go on, because I now knew it was there.
Of course I forgot my pen so I had to walk back once again but at the end, log was signed, cache was found, deed is done!
Thanks!

"It shouldn't be this difficult", he thought. But it was a DNF again, despite the effort my kids helped me put in it.
Returned today for another look - eventually discovered the tricky hide - the recent rain had covered the container in dirt and gunk, making it almost invisible in a spot I had checked the other day,
Excellent container, excellent hide, well worth the multiple trips this one has taken me.

Sadly another DNF here - lots of storm damage around so not sure if its cache blindness or if its been washed away again

As there's been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, or it's been a number of months since the last owner note. I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future (next 30 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it. Should you replace the cache after 30 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.
Hi All,
Yes we do intend to repair this cache. Will attempt in the next week or so. The couple of times I have called in, it has been very busy around GZ.
Cheers,

Second visit (last one Xmas day 2010) but still could not find. Help, its a long cycle back out of there!!
It's a beautiful wall with lots of hiding places. And in the one I didn't look at, that is where the cache must be. I'll find it a next time.
Geowife coming down to Caringbah, and by providing a lift...
Well not a great day, really. While I found 3 caches pretty quickly, two others took a while, and then there were the DNFs... In the end averaged a bit over one find per hour cached.
Then there was going over on my ankle, 1km from the car... That was a fun trail walk.
The intention was to pick up more Sutherland Shire Cachers’ Challenge finds, as well as one more Happily Ever After cache.
* * * END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION * * *
Another unsuccessful hunt that took ages. The tide was lapping the rocks, but I could make my way around without getting wet.
After checking many, many rock crevices to no effect, and with the iPhone pointing me one way, but no sign of anything there, I had to give it up. Needed plenty of time to walk into the National Park for my Happily Ever After cache.

Loved the place! It was low tide so I explored all the little islands usually covered by the water. So much bird life, beauty. Next time will have kayak!
Out kayaking with Purple-Me and stopped for a break. "What do reckon the chance of there being a cache nearby?" Pretty damn good it turned out. Old legs and short ones couldn't get their on there own; but team work got us the prize.

Out for a paddle in the kayak today, I decided to try for a smiley face for "the Gra". I pullud up onto the sand bank and was immediatly assailed by the overpowering smell of rotting eggs so it was off to make a quick find and be gone. Lovely place apart from the aroma! TNLN. TFTC Mr. Us.
Found this morning while visiting Swallow Rock cache, a reach for me then signed the log, then on our way home in the kayak. tFTC
Another top spot (and I notice the Aboriginies also thought it was too for a few thousand years with all the old shells ). A very short walk from the car and also a short hunt before the cache was in hand- thanks!
Everybody HAS to visit here. No more needs to be said! Fav point from me. Also started a new compass travel bug on its journey. Have a nice trip!!

Lots of fun after school - great team effort - adult geocacher was not needed! Geokids did a great job.
Had the geowife and heading for Cronulla when I decided to check this cache out. Searched for a while and the clue helped. There was a family fishing and having fun close to GZ and their gear was close to the cache. So rather than bring on suspicion we let them know what we were looking for and explained the fun and adventure of Geocaching. One of the guys actually retrieved the cache for me and returned it safely. We may have a couple of budding Geocachers TN Left a capsicum and pegs. SL, TFTC Usat31

What a great spot for a day out with the family. I've paddled past here countless times and didn't know that land access was available to this spot.
Takes me back to my childhood and all the school holidays spent exploring this place
Really nice spot for cache. Spent some time exploring and got some nice photos. Took Trackable and left some swaps. TFTC
Great spot for a cache, found it with a geobuddy noticed trackable but didn't touch it. TFTC!
This is such a nice spot! Hadn't been down here in about 8 years I think and it brought back memories of visiting my godfather when he lived on Grays Point Road. Found easily with mandalf and left a tb. We had a nice walk around as well. TFTC!
This was an enjoyable cache as we could walk around during low tide and explore the river a bit. You're right, the Native Celtis tree did have VERY SMOOTH BARK. mmm so smooooth oh yes mmmmm ah
Found whilst returning to Audley Weir after a day of paddling on the River. Finding a cache was a slight distraction from the Jelly Fish Wars!
