Disabling due to bush fires in the area.

Did a night hike for the first time along here and came up with a couple of caches. Good fun although a bit cold. Unfortunately missed the views except for a few lights. TFTC

Last adventure of a long day of geocaching, but well worth the effort!

rogerw3 and I managed to drive within about 400 metres of GZ before deciding that it was wiser to walk the rest of the way. Your own mileage may vary . . . Safest approach is to walk from the 'emergency landing strip.'

Anyhow, great spot for a hide . . . requiring a very minor bit of scrambling, but not too bad at all.

Amazing to find one of my own 'Bookcrossing' books in the cache container! What are the chances?

All was in good order.

TNLNSL.

Walking back 'up' at the end of the day did indeed require some stamina . . .

Many thanks to team stilllookin!

Started off as a casual stroll (with thoughts of this might hurt on the return journey), was not long until The lookout became UN-lost. .....it was on the return that I learned that whitemushroom sees that 'Photography = Rest-point) must remember that one!
Thanks Team Stilllookin ....nice one!

On my agenda to seek, and in a weakness invited All Strung Out along. ASO earned his keep with a find, tho, it must be said some folk look to, and appreciate, the view first. With such single-minded focus on the prize (Cache) ASO will have the photographs to appreciate the spot. Thanks to team stilllookin for a cracker location Smile

Another outstanding location for a cache team stilllookin. I think this one had me huffin & puffin more than "edges all round". Did the classic camera out, finger on the shutter - no response - visualize the battery sittng on the charger at home, doh doh doh. Just had to spend a few more minutes taking it all into memory. Beautiful afternoon. T:Nil L:Pencil

Found it without too much difficulty. A nice walk down and some nice excercise walking up ( who needs the stair master? ) Great views made it worth while. Thanks.

Another great location, congrats Team stilllookin. I enjoyed that one, even the climb back to the main track!
Great vista and great weather if getting rather hot. Found the cache with no problems it seemed a logical spot for it. Took small torch and left 2x Sydney Olympic Pins.
Now onto Eleven fifty!

Found with RogPol.. much fun on our first 4x4 expedition! Hopefully not our last! Thanks a heap rogpol! I really struggled getting back up that hill lol! Phew indeed!

I thought that the theory goes that all caches are "up hill". This one was slightly different. The wind and rain added to the atmosphere somewhat.
An enjoyable walk down to the cache from the fallen tree and a great view to the SW. with sheets of rain approaching. A challenging walk back up the hill which had added impact after visiting a couple of nearby caches.. fatigue was setting in.. phew
Found in the company of Team Gotcha and Dockersgirl

Found itBig Grin! 15:45 I had just finished "Hidden History 7 Air Defence" so I headed along the old air strip and followed a track near the end. Having the Topo map of the area helped. drove as close as I could and then legged it. Another great location and find number 15 for the day. SL TFTC

We drove in along the track which sidles alongside the old airstrip. There were a number of trail bike type people on their noisy devices going up and down the strip. We believe they were actually trying to take off - guess the noise and fumes etc does that sort of thing to brain cells.

We poked along in our vehicle up to the top of the requisite hill and then proceeded to wander down the slope following the old fire trail. After completing the cache duties we continued on a little futher to fnd a nice spot for morning tea whilst contemplating the views. These were quite good despite the heat haze. This was another fine Stilllookin cache. Good area, container, contents etc.

This was closure on what has been an expensive find for me. My last attempt ended with a stick going through the side wall of my brand new tyre.
Today I managed to get all the way, found the cache in the obvious spot, then had to run like hell as the approaching thunderstorm rained down on me.
This was the last of a Stilllookin bonanza today, now its off to the owners house to swap some tales. Thanks guys

This turned out the last cache for the day after the Doctor fell over, it did not like where I wanted to park it. Dampened my spirit somewhat. could not fix it there so found the cache and off back to town! thanx for the cache and after washing the Doctor you cannot tell!

With the rest of the family firmly ensconced in the damn car, and refusing to get out, I set off down another hill to the cries of "Take one for the team Dad!"

Yeah yeah....

Easy walk down, down, down, not too hard to find.

Enjoyed the views briefly as we had to race the sun going down if we were to go visit the new zombie in town.

Back up that hil, I hate hills.

Cheers

Fresh from our sucess at Eleven Fifty we had to grab this one on the way back to the main road.
Parked the vehicle and headed down hill guided by the trusty machine.
Arrived at the GZ - What a great spot with great views!
Quickly located the cache and swapped the Glo Sticks for some massage thongs.
Thanks for the cache.

Finally got the chance to head out this way for a spot of caching. Found the road to this one with no troubles and parked at the fallen tree. A quick walk down the hill and we had the cache found in minutes. A great view from the lookout with the sun popping through the clouds here and there.
Another great Team Stilllookin cache.

30-Jun-08
The cold night made the walk in and out quite plesant. Down on the flat area some light in the valley could be seen but nothing else. A bit of a scramble and the cache was found. With the logging bit done and it returned to its spot it was back to the geomobile and into lithgow for a snack of a Maccas hot apple pie to warm the insides up.

Parked at the fallen tree and headed into the dark of night, enjoying the down hill walk to a flat Lookout area.
Could see a few lights off in the distance and found a way down to the cache.
Once again a well stocked cache.

Finally after blood ,sweat and tears. Great spot. Thanks

20-Jun-08
The look out was all but lost to the fog today which swirled around the mountains like a pole dancer trying for a fifty dollar tip.
Ignoring the GPSr we used the common sense approach and noting some rather fresh tell tale signs the cache was soon in hand.
Took: Mosquito repeller
Left: Swivel torch thing.
