After climbing the crazy Walshs Pyramid I had only a short amount of time left to play, so I decided to try for an archive cache. Making my way to the suggested starting coords I parked the car and began the trek to GZ. Haha! More UP for my tired legs
I followed a track and then noticed I was a little to the left of where I wanted to be. Hmm, bush bashing downhill through jungle and long grass it is then This was certainly turning into quite the mission, all I could imagine was giant snakes and crocodiles bursting from the scrub and devouring me whole
Slowly the metres counted down and I found myself at GZ. I started poking around and then.... Oh my! Is that the cache [?] Woohoo!!! It sure was *insert happy cacher dance*
Even though the beasty was full of water the log was still able to be written on. I left my mark and then replaced the container as it had been found. It sure had been a while between finds.
Thanks for the adventure and smiley a herd of camels

Cache is no longer able to be maintained as cache owner no longer lives in Cairns
If I may quote a meme, "One does not simply visit Cairns and not do a herd of camels cache" -.-
I was nearby so I decided to look in on this one. I followed the parking instructions and had no problems at all. Interesting they have bits of tape everywhere so people don't fall into pits of cables?! I made my way along the little track - and after a bit of a look I came up with the prize.
Unfortunately, it was quite wet. I signed the big of paper (and baggie) The Drovers had left in the cache. A very beautiful area. TFTC a herd of camels

Caching while in Cairns, on our travels around Australia.
A bit of a 4WD, a short walk, and the cache was found.
Thanks for the hunt today, a herd of camels.

Took awhile to locate this cache. GPS didn't work well under the rainforest canopy. With the help of the Geokids, the cache was found and the log signed. TFTC TNLN SL {#73}.
Out looking for a few stragglers in Sth Cairns, Didn't fancy the 4WD challenge as my 4WD is 20 years old!! Decided the walk would do me good, ambled up the building site and soon had the cache in hand!

Parked the car at the bottom and enjoyed the walk up to the GZ. What an amazing creek and rainforest. A very special place and thanks for bringing us here. SL TNLN TFTC
Had a few attemps at this one. GPS didnt work to well under the trees and gave us a bit of a bum steer. Ended up leaving the GPS at home and paced distance given in other logs down track and found in 5 mins. T. robot man L. army man SL

Persistance paid off with this one. Once again, we made the job harder than it really had to be. Nice spot. We live nearby and never knew about this place. Its a shame about the abandoned construction site nearby.

Didn't find today as it was getting dark. And reading about how someone saw a red belly black snake we did not want to be in there while dark!! We'll be back to find it another day!
Found ok once we got in the right street. Log damp and only a few pages left otherwise all safe and sound. Sure is a pretty spot once you get passed the development works that look as if they have stalled. T N L a garnet. TFTC Garnets
Locating an appropriate parking spot was not a problem, while the walk to the GZ was more of a slog through the wet and muddy construction site.
A search ensured to locate the cache which was eventually located. Log signed. TNLN.
Given the recent rains the cache is in good condition with the log and contents dry.

The GPS decided to have a little play before settling on the right street for parking. It is times like these when the geo4WD comes in handy. There were no workers in sight so Ballbag locked the hubs and off up the hill we went. We got within about 20 metres of GZ. After a brain-dead moment by Bumblebee and a bit of a search, the cache was located.

Great little creek to bring the kids during the holidays. There some heavy machinery developing the land adjacent to the creek so we walked along the creek edge. Took: balloon, golf ball, frog, button. Left: bracelets, soldier, brush, ring. TFTC. The Azzo's
Nice little spot near the creek. Looks like it will be developed soon. Found with waynecarly.

Nearly walked into a massive orb spider and web before locating the cache, quite a scare!. Nice quiet muggle-free spot. Found with Chatmanais. TNLN TFTC
Did some exploring/caching on the dirt bike this afternoon and came across this beautiful spot - cache was easy to find in an obvious location (even without a GPS). I'll be sure to take a dip one hot day. TFTC

After doing the White Rock double cache I suggested we do a short cache that could include a cool dip in a stream. As we parked a car pulled up and introduced themselves as "well endowed" Four great guys enjoying an afternoon caching. We soon found the cache and then sat on a rock cooling off. That was just the best. Took Scottish flag TB.TFTC
Although we didn't find it, was still a great place for a walk and dip in the creek. Next time!!
Really nice spot, took GC left TB.
Tip: Unless your car is lowered it is possible to drive right upto within 8m of this cache.

Parked car near bitumen and walked the rest of the way, only small distance. Still new at this game saw the trackable item (cool) but wasnt sure what it was but did swap with other treasure. Fantastic location, cant believe we found it
Interesting terracing on the way to GZ - for houses maybe? - I hope not. Made my way to GZ and found the cache OK. Left California geocoin. TFTC A Herd of Camels

10.25 - Enjoyable walk up to the GZ. Saw the tree cover and thought oh sh*t. Turned out to be an easy find. +/- 0 T4TC.
Had gone out shopping only to find that the shops do not open on Sunday, turned on the GPS and grabbed a cache as a consolation. A great drive although we couldn't get to the end as our clearance was not high enough. An easy stroll with the sleeping bub and a quick grab. TNLNSL.
I had a great "Camel Day" on Wednesday and this was one of the caches I found. I thought it ws a great spot and I was glad to be able to discover it. TFTC Herd of Camels. TNLN.
Oh, what a relief after DNF "Camels in the Sand"! And than the Vanilla scent coming from the Camels' cache into my nose!
It is a really nice bush up here. And it offers a good view South to the Pyramid, too. Glad I came here.
But take care, the cache is guarded by very defensive black ants!!!

Easy walk up to GZ and happy to find a TB we have been looking at for some time. He is Vikram and is the prettiest fish. Very colourful. Lovely spot but resisted the walk down to the creek as it would mean having to climb back up again and the legs had done one too many climbs today.

I was convinced I knew exactly where this one was, as I have explored these hills before. Well, what an adventure, I ended up one valley over doing some *very* exciting 4WD climbs!
Once I figured my hunch was wrong, I returned to civilisation, tried another approach, and found it with ease. I have been to this great little spot once before.
T: Nil (forgot to take the frog!)
L: Toothbrush, just in case someone is staying over
Thanks for the cache, I will be doing the other Camels in the school hols!

This was our last chance to find some camels today. But it would seem that they have retreated well into the scrub. Maybe because it was black Friday and they were to scared to come out.
Drove the geocar to GZ and checked out the creek.

FTF. Found at 5:30pm with my son.I feel a little guilty about doing this one and 'Camels in the Park' so soon after they have been placed but I guess we would be doing them anyway at some stage, and they are so close to home.
What a great place to come and hunt around. Found the cache and did some swaps. We even went down and had a look at the creek and took some pictures.Left before the rain came.
Thanks for another great hide.
