Hmmm - pretty sure we found the right spot, but alas, nothing there. Oh well - we headed off to find another nearby cache. All good!
I've taken this cache for some maintenance. Probably best to disable for the moment. Miss Muffet would not have enjoyed the cache retrieval. Thought I saw a spider (a big huntsman) on the cache, but shooed it away. Got it back to the car and there it is again - in the boot of the car! (Or trunk for the Guamanians/Chamorro's) Didn't managed to squish it before it ran off - and spent the rest of the afternoon terrified it would crawl on me while I was driving. Luckily it appeared later on the back window as I was putting my groceries in the car and I could flick it out of the car. Phew!
What I learnt was that because something is straight ahead doesn't mean you can get to it in a straight line. There was abvious geotrail to the GZ, so it was easily found. I didn't realise there wasa such a great picnic area in here.

First find of the day. A short walk from the carpark and not far off the path. A quick find. Grabbed Caching in the Holidays geocoin. Will move it on soon. Lots of muggles around so had to time it well but managed to duck in and out without being seen. Thanks for the cache.
Nice spot here for a picnic and/or short walk. Once I got within shouting distance of the cache I thought "There has to be a better way." and of course there was. Cache is in good condition.
SL. No swaps. Thanks.

Coming down from doing some tap dancing thought this cache was pretty close so began crawling around the creek trying to get GPS to drop below 17m. Hmmmm. Must be a track round here somewhere to get higher up on to the bank (lesson - read cache notes). There was and cache was soon located. Dropped Geocoin. TFTC
This was a nice easy find once we had hit the right track. Completely missed the very obvious steps as we headed down the track and ended up wondering why we couldn't get closer than 20+ metres from GZ...
Trekking back to where we came from, the steps to the cache almost jumped out a hit us in the face.... HELLO....
Funny how sometimes you just walk straight past the obvious route....
TN, left Euro 10c TB.
Cheers

We wanted to do all nine Caches within the scenic drive loop, but the weather had other plans for us, so after walking in the rain for three hours and getting soaking wet, we gave up at Cach number seven.
Took Guam disk and left a camel. Box in good condition.

Easy find, nice location, came from the top rather than the bottom of the hill... and back up again! TFTC!
Found by Sunshine Toledo at 9:04am. Lots of cleared ground at GZ; hope the cache survives as it's a good place for one. TFTC
Nice easy find, great spot, unfortunately all the access roads are closed temporarily so i had to stomp in. Oh well the walk will do me good and it didn't take too long. Cache in good nick and well hidded from view. Grabbed a Guam patch and the GC, left some goodies. SLTFTC.
Cache is in good condition despite the storm on Sunday. Looks like Mt Coot-tha avoided any carnage! Took a couple of TB's and left a Guam geocoin to start its travels.
Found it. Cache in good condition. Took travel bug and pencil, dropped two travel bugs. TFTC
Found it as the first for the dat at 1:15. Had to be quick as in the car park there was a wedding being set up. Raced in, dropped of a Golden flute and ran down the hill to move the Wogers Toy. Thanks for the hid.
A nice short walk to the cache on a sunny day and no muggles around - perfect! Took a canister and microfish, left some coins. TFTC
We parked near the J.C. Slaughter falls for a nice hike to Mount Coot-tha. On the way back we took an alternative road to the cache.

Accompanied with patox for the day. Lovely national park. We enjoyed walk along to the cache. No swap. SL. Thanks rhodesisland & posthaste for organising the cache and hunt.
All 4 of THENANKS had enjoyed a picnic with family friends after doing a kid swap for sleep overs! The cache was found easily by one of the geoboys, much to the delight of his little sister!
We signed the log and took two TB's to move further along on their journey.
Cheers,
THENANKS

This has always been one of our favourite places around Brisbane. Found without too much trouble by the eagle eyed Geo-kid. Maybe one day we'll get to Guam to find its sibling.

Nice to have to visit this area again and with time to burn I had another look around the path.
Muggle workers were at play at the carpark but well out of view of the cache. The cache was found easily and I suspect the well worn caching signs may attract unwanted attention. I did a little work on GZ so it was not so obvious.
Left a swag of TB's and coins. TFTC

visited the area with B&B from NZ to get a few caches but couldn't find the access tracks to a few. This one was easily located and we continued on to do the Aboriginal Art walk. TNLN.
Felt somewhat exposed at the cache site. I'm liking all of the 'Guam' bits and bobs which are appearing at these hides. cheers
WanderingAus wandered by on day one hundred of a 6 month trip Wandering Australia and made an easy find.
My find No 810, LCC, TNLNSL, dropped my WanderingAus Happy New Year 2008 Gold GC in for a visit before grabbing it back again.

Found while out and about exploring the trails and tracks around Mt. Coot-tha. Thanks for the cache, Cheers, HawMorFords.
Today was 'Mt Coot-tha Assault Day', with 12 caches in our sights we set out to see how many we could round up. Starting the day with 97 previous cache finds number 100 was sure to be one of todays targets.
This was our first for the day and a nice easy find. Cache in hand at 11:28am

I dropped by the cache today to pick up book_freak's ghost just in case it would like to go on a trip to the land of frogs, if not then I'll return it to spend some more time some more time in A Chomorro in OZ. I forgot to bring my Guam paraphenalia with me for a photo op but I'll return sometime soon to take some pics Hafa Adai to all in Guam!!
Found with lochb. I tend to end up doing some things in a slightly more complicated way than necessary. This time the result was a steep climb through the undergrowth...TFTC!
We'd been here 12 months ago chasing waypoints for a famous old Brisbane cache. Last time we were here, it was cold, dark and raining. Today was significantly more pleasant!
We parked not far from GZ and made the short walk to the cache. As usual, with uphill walks, Miss Steve led the way and had the cache in hand by the time we got there.
No swaps, thanks for the cache!

I'd found book_freak's ghost TB last week, with a mission to haunt this cache, so what better reason to come today. Walked from the car park along the track, then pjphillips pointed at the river bed and said "let's go this way". This increased the terrain difficulty by 2 at least - we had to climb up to the path. But apparently others had done the same in the past - there was a distinct geotrail ...

A cache with an international flavour is always fun
The bike ride to get to GZ this morning was surprisingly pleasant, given it was rush hour. I wonder where everyone was ? Probably stuck in traffic
Continuing the trend, there was absolutely nobody around in the park to disturb my brief search for the cache [^]
There's a nice collection of souvenirs in the box.
TFTC,
Komu.

I always enjoy a visit to this area and today was no exception. The cache (perfect condition) was found easily given the accurate coords.
The lower section of the area was full of muggles and I had concerns about going unobserved. Not to worry...they all took the other track
Many thanks for another excuse to visit the area and of course, the cache.
Found on a quick dash at lunch. In the process of filling out log, when a van load of muggles decided to start up the hill. Log signed real fast, grabbed 2 coins and left fire truck.

I found this cache while wearing the 'I Love Guam' cap I received a few nights ago.
Today I added a Guam keyring to my collection.
I've flown over Guam countless times (at least 800, possibly more) on my way to Japan and back.
I hope to stop and visit one day!
Nice to meet you, and thanks for the cache.

Found with 'totalube' after we met at "Femur". I didn't have this one in my PDA so he kindly gave me the co-ordinates and we headed off to find it. Here's a tip, don't walk along talking when you're supposed to be watching your GPSr. This makes two off track adventures for the both of us today . Eventually, the cache was an easy find. TN/LN/SL. We thought we'd found the mother lode of all TBs when we opened the cache. I've never seen so many key rings in one cache before. Hope you're enjoying your visit to Australia 'rhodesisland'.
A quick dash out to do some caching with Water Rat I did this one while I was waiting for him to come back from SES.
A nice quick find no problems, Made no swaps thanks Rhodesisland

It was a priviledge to find this cache. Actually, Blygoat located this cache in the dark. It's winter here and it gets dark early between 5-530pm. Thanks to Posthaste for bringing us to find this one before leaving Brisbane. Lots of goodies in the cache. You gotta love it!

On our way to the airport, we made some detours to hit some final caches in Brisbane. This is one that I had to do as this was given as a doorprize by Posthaste when she attended our CITO Event which Rhodesisland had won. It's very cool to be able to find a cache by a fellow geocacher from Guam. The park this cache is hidden in is very beautiful, lined with picnic grounds and a babbling brook. The hide is an ammo can, we have many in Guam, which reminded me of home and is full of all kinds of goodies from Guam. Great location and a great hide makes this an awesome cache to find! Hafa Adai from Guam! TFTC-SL TNLN
Not as early as the Freaks, but I had a job to do at a nearby shed, so had to have a look.
Still a little misty at 7:30 and the cyclists were abundant!

The freaks were having trouble sleeping and were awake early - must have been the smell of a new cache on the mountain. A quick check of the e-mails and sure enough, an early morning trip was in order.
We left foggy Kenmore at about 6 and soon found ourselves at the entrance to the road in - where there were about 30 cars already parked. A popular cache we thought!
Fortunately the gates were open and we could drive in further away from the crowds and found a quiet parking spot at the end of the road.
A short walk later and the cache was in hand - a *FTF* for the freaks. We didn't have any quality swaps to do justice to this well stocked cache so TNLN. But we do have a coffee cup to remind as of the the visit of the cache owners - TFTC.
