Quick find.Found with Mogni and JJ52. All logs stamped as JAMS. It was a day when the JAMS crew got together again or at least three out of the five of us. Plan A was to do the Abandoned railway trail on e-bikes but Allister is out with injury so, Plan B was a day the three of us ( the remianing one is STILL on holiday, that is a dam long holiday ) and host a CITO in propect ( i need a CITO in that LGA ) on sunday and find caches " in that general area ), Mogni decided we needed to attend a event on the yorke's on saturday. So Plan C was born. Off to the Yorke's it was, the first cache found was in Kulpara and then working down to Port Victoria then over to the Welcome to the Yorke Valley Dam event and some tasty food provided and then some more caching to our overnight accommodation in Adrossan. Sunday saw us caching along the coast on the way home, somehow taking a detour through Mallala before getting to prospect to host Cane Reserve Clean up CITO, I even got a cacher from England at the CITO. 80 finds plus labs for the weekend away, it wasn't about the numbers, it was about a relaxing time away. Any caches that were found broken/cracked/etc were replaced and any full log books were replaced.

26-Feb-24
I have attempted several big days caching in the past and have managed to weigh in at 204 but that magic 400 has always eluded me. Today was the day we could maybe put that right by combining resources with Paddlechick, Bullertrout and Nanzie. Signed logs SPBINZ (even though Bullertrout had already found some of today's caches). We couldn't have asked for a better day. Starting temperature for the day was 19 degrees, no sunshine and temperature didn't climb beyond the high twenties at any stage. I love travelling the countryside of Australia, one sees so much more than those tourists who stick to tar-sealed roads and travel from town to town.I do get a bit side-tracked when I'm caching and take time to enjoy the local flora and fauna. The plants are so obviously adapted to life in a dry climate, the birds are colourful and screechy, and the ants - - well, I've never seen such large ants or had such a vicious bite from an ant.I do love the pictures of the trails on the Yorke Peninsula, such creativity.Greetings from the Shaky Isles and many thanks for the cache.<*}}}< <*}}}

A quick find on the smallest 'Regular' sized cache I have found lately. SmileSmile

Another Wednesday Wander for some members of the Befuddled Puzzle Solvers. Surprised Today myself Blackadders and SA Sewer Rats headed over to Yorke Peninsular in search of some more Gone Fishn' caches and others we might be passing. Wink We commencing Fishn' from where we all needed to get caches as we were individually at different places from previous trips. [B)] Then is was off to Curramulka for some lunch and a wander around there in search of some solved puzzle and other caches. Smile Then it was back for some more Fishn' before heading home another route via some more unfound caches of course. Cool A very fun day. Big Grin

Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. Twisted So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers to single digits. Cool That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]

Today, the weather was forecast to be dismal with thunderstorms and a rain drenching! Consequently, gridge98 and I retreated to the more dry vicinity of Upper Yorke Peninsula. Other than a few drizzles, we had good weather. We visited Paskeville, Kadina, Moonta, Balgowan, Point Pearce, Maitland, and Arthurton, with highlights of the mining relics, 4WD-ing along the west coast beach, and finally dinner and heading around Maitland. A long day out and about, arriving home just after midnight.

No issues with this one, and turned out to be a quick driveby. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Rocky Glen Grommets for the cache placement, and Dazzatron/Margieh for its ongoing maintenance.

After a review of the geocaching map in South Australia it was determined a trip to the Yorke Peninsula would yield some significant numbers. So, The Rats, Hoojar and I teamed up once agan to tackle the many caches on the peninsula.

We started in the darkness after flying into Adelaide and the next day set some personal records (550+ caches in a day) and milestones before bunking down. The next day was another massive numbers haul which resulted in a bit over 1,000 caches in two days Surprised!

Then it was a little more sedate down to the bottom of the peninsula and then back up the easterly side, ticking off a few EarthCaches in the process Big Grin.

After that, back to Adelaide for some night caching, virtuals and more EarthCaches!

The power trails on the peninsula were great- quiet roads, some great green wheat and yellow canola scenery, coupled with some great company and usual ribbing of each other [^]!

Thanks for your cache- sorry about the generic log. For the EarthCaches and virtuals look out for an email or two shortly.

TFTC!

This was a trip that had been some time in the making. A journey from Wollongong in New South Wales to the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, in search of large numbers. Five days were set aside, and The Rats, Steeba, and myself planned the details out. Lofty numbers were floated; we could find one thousand geocahces... Maybe more! The world was our oyster, all we had to do was make it happen.

We flew into Adelaide and quickly rented our car, then headed off for a series of thirty letterbox caches late that night. We then set up camp, ready for the next few days.

Two days journeying down the Yorke Peninsular saw us collect 550 caches the first day, and 450 the next. One thousand caches in two days! The numbers were phenomenal, unheard of, and excellent! At one stage we found fifty caches in a one hour period! We worked ourselves into a solid routine, and managed to push these numbers without caching after dark. Incredible! We camped out beside the trail, ready to commence again the following morning.

Having reached our goal of one thousand, we rented a cabin and enjoyed a solid relax and beet, and we were then able to dedicate the remaining time to specific caches, mostly Earthcaches to keep Steeba (The Professor) happy, and a good number of Vrtuals as well, as we made our way back from the end of the Yorke Peninsular to Adelaide. It really became a Tour De Earthcache! If your geocache is such a hide, stand-by, as Steeba will soon contact you with our answers.

As is always the case with these trips, the company was the highlight, with banter non stop, the time went by in an instant.

We saw some amazing things, found some excellent caches, and had an absolute blast.

Ticking just over 1300 finds for the trip, you will have to excuse the boilerplate logs!

Thanks to all of the cache hiders for their efforts in placing and maintaining their hides. It was fantastic exploring this part of the world that I had never visited before. Thanks also to my geocaching partners, without whom such a trip would not be possible, nor fun!

Cheers

06-Sep-18
The Rats, steeba and Hoojar have teamed up for a York Peninsula adventure of massive proportion. With much planning and logistical coordinating, we had a great five days meandering the country roads collecting a plethora of caches. Our journey started with a handful letterbox caches before heading down the peninsula following the “Gone Fishn” series. We followed this up with an array of geo-art images that litter the lower peninsula. Returning to Adelaide we collected a gaggle of old and rare finds which included some interesting earthcaches and virtuals.

My apologises for the generic log, but thanks to all the cache owners and caching buddies who made the road-trip such a memorable and fun experience. Smile

After spending nearly 4 months in Western Australia we made a rapid trip over to South Australia and down to the Yorke Peninsula over the past few days, picking up a few caches as we travelled of course!
We set up camp in Maitland and today headed out on to the Gone Fishin' power trail to tr our luck.
As fate would have it, a few other caches cropped up on the GPS as we worked the trail, so we just had to divert to pick them up as well.
This one was at the end of the day as we travelled back to our caravan after completing the first 300 caches on the trail.
Biggest cache for the day!

Found on the 03/08/2017 at 7:21:00 AM.

On the final day of caching Yorke Peninsula with J+J. We had to stop earlier last night than expected due to the dreadded rain started to fall. Unknown to us in the morning was just how much rain fell! One local farmer later told us there was 15mm of rain overnight.
The extra water made our caching trip wet, and very muddy. The final highlight was having to be towed out off a muddy road by an 8 wheeled tractor!

Thanks for the all the caches.

Found it with TICE [Hiltsu, J&T, kapeka & laalaa]

We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( South Australia and Northern Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!

Greetings from Finland!

Team ICE on a two week geocaching trip in Australia. Our main target was the Red Centre Experience at Alice Springs but of course we did some caching in other places too. We drove from Adelaide to Alice Springs and then back. We saw lots of interesting and beutiful places like opal mines at Coober Pedy, Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta. Our rental travelled almost 6500km on gravel and tarmac roads. The weather was great, only on last day we got some rain.

All the caches logged as Team Ice, T-ice or Tice with kapeka, laalaa and Hiltsu. We had a great trip!

Today our trip continued from Port Augusta to Port Vincent. On a way we visited beautiful Weeroona Island, spend some time at Port Pirie, visited Moonta's himalayas and found many caches on the way.

Thanks for the cache and greetings from Finland!

Many thanks to Speedmistress for the repairs. The Hedgehog was happy to be first in the new log. Third cache in Maitland for us. I love the smiley faces.

07-Jun-16
Great parking place, nice and safe off the highway. The cache is indeed in poor condition but we have Speedmistress who comes supplied with many spare items. The complete cache container was replaced including a new log book, and we took away all the wet yucky items in the cache. Unfortunately this has left the cache fairly trinket poor.

First we must appologise for the generic logs.

We came to Yorke Peninsular with Speedmistress who hails from Queensland to cache our little hearts out and this we are doing.

We solved loads of puzzles prior to coming and with all the earth, multi, trads and puzzles there are here we were never lacking in variety.

When we found caches that needed repair we have done our best to do what was possible, unfortunately we have now rum out of spare containers, so no more repairs can be done. We have enjoyed the scenery, the walks, the animal life and the challenges that was encountered while traveling the Peninsular. Not all the caches have been attempted due to time restraints but those have been earmarked for future visits.
We also would like to thank Speedmistress for supplying our geocaching chariot.
A huge thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for us to enjoy.

On this occassion, I am doing a generic log. I have travelled from Queensland to meet up with Muff1 for a Geocaching extravaganza on the beautiful Yorke Peninsular.

Our goal to Cache, Cache and Cache. Each day our "finds" have been growing in number, some days more productive then others. Repairs and replacement of broken containers, new log books and adding a new plastic bag here and there have all been part of the fun we have been having.

We have also been careful to take time to appreciate the natural wonder of the areas we have visited. The variety of caches was interesting, some very clever, some the quick grab they were designed to be.

My sincere thanks to Muff1 for providing me with the opportunity to join them on this geocaching holiday.

A big thank you to all of the dedicated Cache placers who have made this possible.
