As there has been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, or it has been a number of months since the last owner note I am archiving this cache to keep from continually showing up in search lists and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future (next 28 days), just contact a reviewer (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, the reviewer will be happy to unarchive it.

Should you replace the cache after 28 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.

The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 30 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness. If you require more time please be sure to post a note (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require. For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the page and post a note every month or so to keep everyone up to date.

This cache is definitely gone - if there was any chance that it may have still been present the new fence that is being built would make well and truly sure that no one is able to access GZ anyway. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I note the cache owners are "disbanded" and that this cache is up for adoption - suggest archiving.

Out for the day in the Byford Hills to tackle some of the newer caches that have recently appeared.
Weather was set to be quite warm so an early start was made with team OOH YEH.
No snakes seen today thank goodness and despite our best efforts to keep the ticks in the bush a few hitchhiked their way back to our homes.

We started off our day with this wonderful treasure chest. Loved that it was filled with treasures. GPS took us right up to it. Grandsons would have loved to find this one.

Since the geo hubby was home i thought it was time to tackle the rest of the byford hill caches. We picked up skippy 46 on the way and made an early start before it got to warm. We put on heaps of bushmans spray so we are hoping not to bring any ticks home with us this time, but we will see. Started at this cache and this one was an easy find and the cache box contained lots of treasure TFTC

Hadn't intended to come out this way today, but here I am. Found another cache not too far from here, and did a search for any caches nearby that were loaded onto a friend's garmin that I am trialling. Was surprised to see this one pop up. Didn't know what I was looking for, but it was hard to miss. Another smiley face earned. Thanks Mischief's Crew

You have the honour of making this my very first cache. Congrats to you. I was going for a run and decided to look for the cache. Lots of nice things in there, but I was not prepared enough to leave anything. Will be better prepared next time. Actually decided to head off and find Steel Gong up the valley further. That became my 2nd cache.

25-Jan-11
A nice easy flat walk. BUT the ants were everywhere except at GZ thank goodness. Chwiliwr covered cache with leaves but they have blown off. I too did my best to cover. I set out to find this cache today as I had a Pirate TB looking for a suitable place. Dropped it off TNSL and almost ran back to the car to make sure I didn't get 'ants in my pants'!! Loved the walk and the area TF bringing me here.

21-Jan-11
Last cache for this morning in this area. Was a very enjoyable walk in to the cache. Only saw one muggle walking his dog on the way in and a couple on the way out. Found the cache a bit exposed once I got to the right side of it so when I put it back used some leaf litter to help disguise it from casual observation.

Thanks for the cache.

Lovely walk in my favourite park. A nice easy find though nearly got taken out by the wire fencing hidden in the black boys... sure I won't be the last Razz We took another trail back home which was covered with ants. My young boys learnt quick not to stand in one place too long. The cache is in good condition. My young boys were absolutely delighted with the contents. TN LN TFTC.
Sorry, being new to this Geocaching, I'm not sure if I mention the Travel Bug which I left. I'll be logging it elsewhere as per instructions.

Put in a couple of geocaching badges and a transformer - took out a DVD, cuddly horse and a head net - middle-sized Piglet assistant was suffering from the flies! TFTC.

17-Jul-09

Today is AlliedOz B'day and what did he wish for? Caching and lots of it! So an Annual Leave day was booked at work and an early start to head down south for a full days walking and better yet caching!

This was our first of a few today, a pleasant stroll along the road to the cache, lots of ant hills but due to the recent rain and a colder day they all seemed to be in slow motion.

The cache was found without too much fuss, cachers be careful as the nice long green grass is hiding the rusty wire fence at the moment.
Nice to see an Ammo box, the treasure box appealed to our youngest BIG time, so much so we might have to make one for her after the disappointment that it was not a trade item Big Grin Life is hard when your 5.

Grabbed the Lewis Bear TB

This location is familiar. We remember doing the old archived cache a few years ago.
I took the bike out for a spin and rode along the track to within a few metres of the cache.
The cache was easy to find and very well stocked. We liked the Pirate treasure chest.
We took the mirror and added the Fly net.
This time the stream was running even though it hasnt rained for a long time. We didnt hang around too long as last time we managed to collect a few tick bites while here....once bitten, twice itching.
Thanks for the nice cache location.

A lovely walk along a very nice - flat - track Smile Had no trouble finding the cache.
Unfortunately the ants found me, and I'm not really very fond of ants. I was quite a sight hopping around from one foot to the other while trying to sign the log book and chat to my husband on the phone from Argyle. LOL
I didn't see the GCs in the cache, but there was a recent maintenance note from the owners that suggested they may have taken them to move along. But I was a bit distracted because of the ants too.
Lots of black cockies and other birds out and about this afternoon. Thanks for the walk and the cache!

23-Aug-08
We have not been to this area before - our loss - what a wonderful place for a stroll. Left some treasure took nothing.

21-Aug-08
Popped in with 3BlindEyes to check to see if our Cache Aid coin was still there or not, so many visits and not grabbed. Yah, it was! Lost at the bottom of the cache.

We also dropped off our new TB All Blacks Rugby Ball which has the co-ordinates for our new cache First Five Eighth.

Oh and we grabbed the Kiwi coin that 3BlindEyes dropped off. Had to grab that - I mean it's Kiwi!

21-Aug-08
Enjoyed a nice cold evening walk out to this cache with Mischief's Crew to see if their 'Mischief's Cache Aid Box Geocoin' was still actually in the cache as nobody had logged it out yet. It was laying down on the bottom of the ammo can, so it was still there. I grabbed it to move it on to another cache. I left the '2006 Kiwi - Japan 3' geocoin here to continue its travels. I also discovered Mischief Crew's 'Mighty All Blacks Rugby Ball' TB while I was here after they placed it in the cache. The mozzies were getting quite friendly while we were here! Thanks for the cache Mischief's Crew. Cheers! Mal

Why are pirates pirates?? Because they ARRRRRRRR...

Had to get that one in! This is a lovely walk which we have done twice now, only because the 1st time we couldn't get satelites on our GPS but decided to check it out anyway.

Today we had none of those problems and found the cache easily. Thanks to the friendly bull ants in the area Jan did a funny little rain dance that had to be seen to be believed. Sorry Mum, I know they hurt!

T: Dread Pirate Darkwing TB (who we think is gorgeous)
LN,SL

Thanks for bringing us to this area which we have driven past many a time due to living in the area for the last 33yrs but never ventured in.

Just popped up to place Dread Pirate Darkwing TB as felt it was appropriate for him to visit this cache, along with Mischief's Cache Aid Coin to start its journey. Grabbed the Irish Hunter Geocoin whilst there, had to it's a dog coin. Amber wanted to move it. Razz

19-Jun-08
Finally found it this arvo, just on sun-down. This was our 4th attempt after a run of bad-luck. However we also experienced the best bit of our caching so far - meeting other cachers - Mischief's Crew and 3BlindEyes! Which made it worth all the fuss Smile
1st attempt: 16th june. approached from the wrong side of the creek and travelled up and around a forested hill (in the rain). Headed back to the car and decided to approach from the other side. Bumped into Mischief's Crew and 3BlindEyes, who gave us the correct co-ordinates and a GC. Headed off in the dark and spent 2 hours looking before we gave up at midnight.
2nd attempt: 17th june. Matt went out first thing the next morning and spent 3 hours out looking. DNF.
3rd attempt: 17th june. We all headed out again as soon as I got back from work. Spent a couple hours, until it got dark. By this time we were getting pretty aggravated. Decided to ask for a hint.
4th attempt: 19th june. Went out and found it after 5 minutes looking. Sooooo. happy.
Took: pins and a pad
Left: neat little pen-light
also took "cach" GC and "spend a penny" travel bug

A nice easy find (thanks!) after our arrival home yesterday from Lancelin and other points further north. Wungong Valley is one of the prettiest and accesible valleys in the metro area, and we have it here in Armadale. Some very sore muscles and joints showed up on the walk too Sad. T: Tea-towel, L: skewers and the 'Irish Hunter' TB, SL. Thanks to Mischiefs Crew for the cache.

17-Jun-08
It is a wonder I didn't actually trip over the fence and roll down the bank as well. But no, because I had downloaded off the website on to the Colorado we also were searching in the wrong area. It was dark as and trying to pinpoint things was really hard. So we took a wrong track that crossed a creek. Mal crossed it easy - the same cannot be said for me and then as I was already wet I stayed in the creek and Gav used me as a balancer. Then with a lot of walking off in the wrong directions as I was totally disorintated by this stage - to finally getting back on the right course we finally found it. One positive it was actually me who recognised the spot and found it.

BUT YES - IT WAS THE CAT who made all this happen - revenge for putting him the cattery for a couple of days!

17-Jun-08
I walked out here yesterday afternoon with the wrong co-ords which took me about 150m further on across the creek. My GPSr is about 5m out with the crew's so a short search later I had the box. I took a trackable and the prize.

It may be worthwhile going out to this one in the next couple of weeks as the butterflys, the orange ones don't know the name, are starting to hatch and we saw quite a lot still chewing away.

And Jude I don't know how you fell in the creek as the cache is no where near it unless you tripped over that wire fence and rolled down the bank. I'd still blame the cat. Smile

16-Jun-08
After an email from arlorggen saying she couldn't find the cache, Gavin & Jude had a sneaking suspicion their co-ordinates for their new cache were wrong again! They asked if I could come out and check the co-ordinates for them, so they picked me up at 8pm and off we went for a cold night of searching. We looked all over the place for their cache and couldn't find it, but after we had walked a few kilometers, Jude eventually found it. Jude fell in a creek while crossing it to make the night interesting. After the cache was found, I got good co-ordinates of S32 11.785 E116 01.414 which I checked several times. It was a cold wet night, with puddles all over the place and soggy ground. One highlight was on the way back to the car where we bumped into Dead Reckoning. It was very nice to meet Matthew & Leena. We gave them the correct co-ordinates to the cache and I passed on the Whitly TB geocoin to them to have for a while. They were ecstatic about that. We decided to have a look for Miss Terry 03 while we were in the area but couldn't find it. Headed back to the vehicle just as the rain started coming down. A great adventure, which is what geocaching is supposed to be all about! Smile

Well Mischief's Crew strikes again, actually the Jude part of Mischief's Crew strikes again. I transposed the 78 in my original setting of this cache. I checked and checked and then checked it again but was determined obviously to turn that 7 and 8 around.

We took Mal from 3BlindEyes to check on it with us tonight and so the above co-ordinates are correct. Confirmed by our stupid Colarado and two PDAs. I believe I will have to get the Ump to change the co-ords on the cache as I think it is over 160meters difference.

We met Dead Reackoning on our way back from checking it. They were off to find it and yes we did give them the correct co-ordinates. Sorry everyone but I could not allow them to go hunting in the bush with the incorrect co-ords. To me that would not have been nice to allow. So I am guessing they will be getting the F2F.

I think from now on any caches I place I will make them mystery ones. The mystery will be what goes wrong on it? Wrong co-ords, flooding, burnt out the same day or what? If the Ump will publish any more for me that is.

I apologise to anyone who went for the hunt on the wrong co-ords we are really sorry. If it is any consolation I fell in the creek tonight looking for it. Pay back I am sure. Twisted The head is hung low.
