Definitively gone (or grown into the flax)
Thanks for visiting.

Clearing the area for other caches.

09-Oct-10
Checked the cache out, but couldn't find it myself.
Looks like it's missing.
Will reconsidder the hide or maybe re-locate it

Another one of those that seem to have gone missing...............needs to be checked

04-Sep-10
There has been some new planting leading up to this cache and we felt a bit wary having to trample through it. To make matters worse we didn't find the cache despite being pranged by some vicious foliage.

21-Aug-10
Difficult to find especially in we conditions. No success this time.

16-Aug-10
As soon as I saw where the needle was pointing, I asked StreetWalkerNZ to decode hint. Gee, thanks! I refused to search (everything was damp, making an unpleasant task even more unpleasant), but SW had a poke around, and soon gave up.

30-May-10
No luck on this one today

21-Feb-10
Couldn't find it, and didn't want to go in there.

23-Jan-10
Had a thorough search at GZ, spurred on by the recent find after a string of DNFs. But no luck for us today. The first of our flax nemesis caches this weekend!

16-Jan-10
Finally found this one on 2nd attempts. Thanks.

29-Nov-09
Ah ha, another of those Auckland speciality caches. Sad Gave it my regulation 10 minute search then it was time to move on -- too many other caches to find.

13-Nov-09
No luck with this one today. It often requires some luck to find these sort of hides. Still, a nice quick find across the road so still worth the stop. Thanks.

13-Nov-09
No luck today with this very well hidden cache.

29-Sep-09
Lovely area. Out and about with Team Welsh. T4TC

Yep, my first thought was the hint!! Thanks.

31-Aug-09
Pleased to be wearing my gumboots for this one, very squishy here today.
Hmm... not sure I'm in love with these type of hides though.
Thanks for the placement.

Well we have finally made it to your patch is kiwiLeon. Luckily it was a quick find Smile on a reasonably brisk day out and about. We tried to phone home on the pink phone but it needs a top up Surprised T4TC.

Quick easy find. Made a call to god on the pink phone begging for no more flax today.

Thanks

I’ve come to realise during this latest trip to NZ that I really don't like the looking for caches in these objects - and I'm glad we don't have them back home... OK, with that off my chest - I'd like to say thanks again KiwiLeon for the cache. Lucky for me I managed to find this one in reasonable time, because I’ll admit that I was very close to walkin' away from GZ without the find! TNLN & SL at 5:35pm. Regards, 38degsouth – Vic, Aust.

An easy find - especially for "One of Them". I hate these plants; they are the geocachers curse!!! These and "cutty" grass!!!!
Thanks for the cache anyway. SL

12-Oct-08
A wrong turn on the road from "Plain Sailing" left us about 400m from the cache at a dead end. In the spirit of fresh air & exercise, we walked the rest of the way.

10-Oct-08
Surprisingly quick find considering the hiding place.Prince Regent Drive coned off to parking on both sides of the road 500 metres either side of the park.Whats that all about?

Cheers KiwiLeon

08-Oct-08
Almost avoided this one on approach, I didn't even want to look for it but gave myself 5 minutes and managed to find it in about 2.
I'm really beginning to hate flax.

Cheers.

08-Sep-08
A careful eye meant I didn't need to spent too much time rooting around in the flax. I did start on the wrong side, but quickly returned to the right side for a relatively quick find. Cheers Gav [2405]

Number 3 (5:00 PM)

Oh yes it is there! Twisted

Enjoying the walk so much I overshot the mark and headed back to find Kathy arms deep...

(think the snails/slugs have eaten the label!)

+ Pink fridge magnets
- Spider (almost lost it - See photo!)

We think the log books are slowly getting smaller as we find each cache [:p]

Not really a DNF as I didn't hunt. After a frustrating hunt in this type of foliage earlier in the day I just couldn't face it again so walked away when I realised where it was hidden Twisted. Getting picky in my old age Smile

27-Jul-08
My first one!

26-Jul-08
Found it with my friend Anna this afternoon. Her first geocache! It was awfully soggy out, but the cache was in good shape.

12-Jul-08
A nice find. Got it the second try. Was a little hasrd at night in the rain

29-Jun-08

#3 - Quick find after taking a shortcut through the boggy grass.
Dreaded the Oh No! but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Today, we were on our way together with tofska on an East-Auckland-Caches-Powertour.
After having met TramperTed at the previous cache, it was sp8sm8 greeting us from a near DNF when we arrived. He had given up the search in the midst of horizontal downpour, but agreed to give it another go together with us. And voilà, there it was.
From now on we were placing bets on which cacher we would meet next.

TNLNSL, TFTC

28-Jun-08
Out for afternoon with Rumo & Rala, and then bumped into Sp8sm8 for this one. Second geo-clash in a row! Hunting in this type of vegetation is better when there's four you looking Wink.
T4TC - M@

28-Jun-08
Started hunting this in sunshine, and was happily eliminating the possibilities when the rain came. When it went horizontal I decided to call it quits but on approaching the car, saw Tofska pull up with Rumo & Rala.

Back for another look, much easier with four sets of eyes.

What does one do when its too rough for sailing? One goes caching, JC & AC left GC digesting McD in the CC, and splashed to GZ for a quick find. - light + coin.

21-Jun-08
Another interesting park. Some people digging up something, not sure what!! Oh no, not a hide in one of these, thought we had moved on from that agony! TFTC

21-Jun-08
Was 'up the creek' with this one late last night but things looked totally different in the daylight, and what seemed 'offshore' turned out to be on the opposite bank Red Face
Thanks Léon for the ongoing series of caches to keep us going through the winter season. TNLNSL
