Time to let it go?

24-May-11
The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 30 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.

16-May-11
Since this bridge is no longer there and the owner is no longer in Melbourne to attend to it, this one can now be archived.

07-Apr-11
I think this one needs to be archived, as I would expect that it will be some time before the City of Boroondara replaces this bridge. Until then this one stays within my 10 km radius Sad

05-Mar-11
Went past this evening looking for a couple of quick finds - but not to be tonight....

This either needs extreme maintenance, or more likely be archived.

20-Feb-11
Mrs Facit and I walked along this path today seeing much damage to trees and even the asphalt path has had to be replaced in places. But nothing compared to the scene at the final GZ for this cache, I don't think I'm posting a spoiler... No cache will be able to be hidden here again.
The rain did some damage last week but this was more than I expected! Not only has the container gone but so has the whole hide!

03-Jan-11
Found today while I was having a Glen Iris cache clean out. Thanks, all is in good order at the cache, but one of the signs has been vandalised and is a little hard to get the clues from.

11-Dec-10
Found at 0015 with SirJ-Oz - luckily, 'cause apparently I can't tell a sand-trap from a smudge! (Admittedly, the graffiti on the info sign doesn't help). TNLNSL - TFTC.

11-Dec-10
Found (and finished off) @ 00:15 with AmethystPig, but groundwork done with my eldest geocachelette 2 weeks ago. Picked up a bag of rubbish when doing the groundwork. Took bag, left golf tee, SL. TFTC.

02-Nov-10
We did Grumpy Ol' Troll 1 a while back and hadn't had a chance to get back to this area until today. Not to many people around on Melbourne Cup Day today so was able to wander round in peace. Found the cache without any mishaps and was very pleased to be able to leave a Troll for the Troll Smile

27-Oct-10
Council workers kept advising me which detour to take through the park as they had closed of parts of the path to work on. Gave up in the end as I couldn’t find enough clues to have a guess at gz. maybe another day

30-Jul-10
Revisited for the last cache of the day. This time had no trouble locating it. TNLN (I forgot to bring the golf balls I've been collecting whilst caching...) SL
The cache is full with some cloth item - bit of a squeeze to reseal it. TFTC

23-Jul-10
Decided to do this one on way home. Find was easy. Putting back was tricky as the muggle factor increased, had to wait and enjoy the creek until they had all moved on. TFTC

18-Jul-10
Thanks for another awesome cache surrounded by muggles and in some cool parklands?

17-Jul-10
Did this one after Grumpy Ol Troll? Took us on quite a tour Smile As a diver I also get quite annoyed at the amount of rubbish that ends up in our creeks, rivers and the sea. Had to wait a while at the 16th for the golfers to pass in order to answer all the questions. Apart from the rain we got caught in near GZ a very enjoyable Cache. Thanks to the owner from Team Schnuffi

01-Jul-10
Found the location after a recount and recalculation put me on track, but I couldn't see the cache in the hiding place :-\

26-May-10
This was excellent. Logged my visit under team name ("Galactic Empire") and was a great multi-cache.
I think i did my last coordinates wrong and ended up in the wrong spot. However I tried one of the two locations using the hint and found it finally!

12-May-10
In the area doing another cache and decided to give this one a shot. Looked over the clues and then looked at the rest of the needed clues... Nope not today. Not my type of cache.

09-May-10
Bit dangerous! Left a rubbery thing and took ball keyring. Thanks.

Found with CDNB on a day of casual caching. We decided to park on the far side of the golf course in the railway car park and walk to the first w/p, where we soon had w/p two calculated. Then on to w/p three and then w/p four. Only trick was, some of the information at w/p four was a good 30m – 40m from the designated w/p site! Information to hand the GZ was calculated and there it was, right where we thought it would be!

Finally got around to completing this cache. There was rather a lot of research involved as I am not a golfer.

The area around the final gz is very popular with cyclists and golfers, so there was a bit of a wait until the cache could be safely retrieved.

Thanks, Team Hayjagen, for the cache.

13-Feb-10
With never a find in our "13 Feb" column, it was time to rectify the situation. As I had found the first answer for this one last Saturday night, I thought I might as well finish it off. I headed along the track on this very pleasant afternoon and built up the coordinates for the final find ... or so I thought. Not having played a game of golf for almost two years now Red Face, I'd forgotten what a double-bogey was (but I'm sure I'll remember once I get a club in my hands again Wink) so I was off on a bit of a wild goose chase for a little while Red Face. The name and the hint didn't match that GZ but with a bit of rechecking, I was soon at the real GZ for a quick find at 13:20, sans bees thankfully.

TNLNSL. Thanks Team Hayjagen.

26-Jan-10
Lots of muggles and lots of bees. Made the suggestion to Dad where the cache could be but I watched from a safe distance. I didn't want to get stung!!

26-Jan-10
Lots of bees about today

02-Jan-10
Took longer than it should have. No idea about the 'snowman', and unable to find one of the other clues. Worked it out just the same. TNLN TFTC.

01-Dec-09
Nice adventure before work,
left 2 golf balls, took nothing
TFTC

14-Nov-09
well i have to say I made a real mess of this one and ended up on the gold course as my final GZ. that cant be right, I had passed an object that matched the name of the cache so I headed there and soon had the cache in hand, I found the cache with the lid open, this may be to do with it being so full and the lid does not close to good. Thanks for the cache.

18-Oct-09
Regretfully we could not google this cache and so we had to appear here this morning. But what a good day to be out on the trails! The game players over the creek thought the same thing. And what a merry chase we had for a while. Still found in a good spot although I would not like to do this one at night without a torch. Thanks again Team Hayjagen for the cache.

Did the research,enjoyed the walk.

Took a bit of research, but we got there. Had a great time. TFTC

Was a wonderful day to search for this cache and found it without too much trouble. Took euro coin and left bouncing ball.

great little hide this one ... had a lot of fun.. good clues.. ladies day at the golf course... a few concered looks but avoided dectetion left 1 euro from europe trip...

18-Jul-09
Having sorted our google maps challenge, which stopped us short on our last visit we came feeling confident. Found the signs and worked through the clues. Embarrasingly lacking in my ability to determine North and South. Lucky I had company. Assuming we worked out the final GZ coordinates correctly (?) there seemed to be lots of options for hiding a cache. Not being able to get an exact read on our locations it was difficult to find GZ. Looks like there has been some really high water as debris looked to be quite high and recent!
Will put a watch on to see when its found next and go looking!

19-Jun-09
The path was thick with golfers on a sunny winter morning. I still don't know what a snowman is to a golfer but I solved the co-ord puzzles anyway. I took an eraser and left a smiley top. Thanks Team Hayjagen. I checked out G O T #1 as well and it is fine.

06-Jun-09
Well it took quite a bit of research on golf, though well worth it in the end. As this is one of the closest cache to home, it had to be solved. Finally found it at around 16:20 today while out bike riding.

The seat was certainly very familiar. I've set here a few times before, admiring the valley and catching up on breath before climbing the hill back up to Ashburton. It was only at the very end that I realised that my research wasn't extensive enough and I had to do some googling on my phone. My co-ordinates were a little off, though some geotracks in the grass lead me to the real GZ. Seems that there really is a Grumpy Ol' Troll living as well, with a deck chair and a crate with a few other possession stored near the cache.

The golfers certainly weren't put off by the cool weather anymore than I was. Wouldn't mind giving that game a try sometime. Nice to see a revival of the Dodo as well. Big Grin Thanks hayjagen. Took the geocoin.

30-May-09
We had a very pleasant walk along in the wintry sunshine, working out the clues on the way. At GZ waited for some muggles to move along, and then retrieved and logged the cache. You do have to be careful not to fall in here. We took the geocoin, but left a replacement one. TFTC.

Found by Mary & David at 1135. Enjoyed the water, the ducks and the autumn leaves. Stunning vertical rock strata along the creek too. The path on the south side of the creek was fenced off today while council muggles installed flush solar lights along the path. Wonder how long they will survive? We were able to use stepping stones though when we needed to briefly cross over. Managed to retrieve and replace the cache in between passing golfers. Dropped off 'Albida 034 GCC Anniversary Edition' geocoin. Our thanks to Team Hayjagen.

hahahaha! Very funny! Laughed my argyle socks off with this one. I think I must have missed you by minutes as the seat was still warm.

The trip home it was my turn to be grumpy when a tarago driver didn't understand the concept of a "zip merge" and clipped my rear bumper when 2 lanes became one. Claim lodged and he wont be happy when they send him the bill - he was adamant I'd done the wrong thing. So the Grumpy Ol' Troll has been handed successfully off to the tarago driver now...I wonder where he will go from there??? Back to collecting golf balls??? What an adventure.

I had actually created a "guess" final co-ordinate from home using a combination of google satellites, street views, educated guesses...and I had got it right too! Just didn't see it first time I looked.

Found @ 10:45 while out bike riding for the day with the GeoMrs. While wondering backwards and forwards gathering the clues I had a chat to some golfers who helped me out with some of the answers. Calculated final GZ and no surprise, it was where I thought it might be as I started the cache.
Took TB "Kierspe, Germany Unite for Diabetes"
Left Nothing
Thanks.

15-Nov-08
Another cache that extended my normal conservative ways - particularly during warmer months when slithery things are around. But this was for a very rare D/T combination for the Well Rounded Cacher competition, so after gathering all of the clues, went head-first to grab the cache. A few grazes later (shorts and thongs weren't a good idea here!) and the find was logged.

Many thanks for this nice little pair of caches this morning. Luckily I wasn't spotted by any of the passing muggles at either of them.

Fun cache! Had to stop and ask a golfer what a double bogey was. After he told me, he said "stick around and I'll probably show you one!"

Just took a wild stab at this one and found both the cache and a very suprised duck.

Oh my what a lot of question I have no idea what the answers are to. Snowman? Golf? Bogey? I thought they were the things that came of out your nose when you sneezed.
Nevertheless I plunged on taking wild guesses where I saw fit and hoped that something would reveal itself along the way. Most of the time luck paid off. I came a little unstuck right at end as the sand trap sign has been vandalised so I took a punt and came up wrong Sad Given the name of the cache though, I took another wild guess and came up trumps.
That's got to be one of the craziest ways I ever found a cache.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks Team Hayjagen. I got sprung retrieving the cache by a man and his dog. I explained it was a treasure hunt, he just nodded knowingly (like I was a nutter) and continued on with his walk. I doubt he'll be back to steal the treasures.

We found our 2nd Hayjagen cache at 11:30am as the 2nd of 19 on our "Day after the GEGP" caching tour of the Inner Eastern Suburbs. We followed the clues around to the final GZ. We, as many before us had done, did not know what a snowman meant to a golfer but after seeing the puzzles on the other cache, we thought it best not to ask the golfers nearby as we thought that it may have been a trick somewhat like sending an apprentice into a hardware store for a left hander screwdriver, so we pushed on regardless. After retrieving the cache, we came back to the car only to be approached by one of the cache owners asking if we had been successful and we enjoyed a short chat. We also took the two coins. Thanks for the cache from D,H & A B-A.

I was here a month ago but didn't have the opportunity to complete this cache owing to a lack of time. I stumbled on one of the golfing questions but decided it didn't matter all that much, and after some lateral thinking and careful observation I was able to make short work of the remainding clues.

Once at GZ I had to contend with an elderly gentleman scooping out golf balls from the creek. Fortunately this kept him quite focussed and I was able to retrieve the cache, log it and escape without too much trouble.

Thanks, a very enjoyable pair of caches.

A neatly put together multi which worked out well despite not knowing what the snowman was. There was also a case of miscounting at wp4 but logic won out and the cache was soon in hand. Thanks Team Hayjagen for a couple of nice caches.

06-Jul-08
The last of 6 caches in the company of Alansee this morning and the only multi we tackled before retiring for a well earned coffee. All the waypoints were found though one of the golfing questions stumped us though it really didn't matter.
A logical hide too. TNLN
Thanks Team Hayjagen.

On the plains of the Serengeti there were two lions and one dinosaur and they liked to play with each other. The lion’s names were Simba and his not so cleaver brother Dimba. Their friend Dino thought he was a lion but he was actually a dinosaur. They were very playful until there was an earthquake and then Simba slipped onto a log and said, ‘help, help!!!’ The river took him out to the sea when he got to land he was in United States; Texas to be exact. Team Hayjaygen have found Dimba and Dino in Australia and need your help to get back to see Simba again. They are on a race to Texas and need to go to all the continents (except Antarctica) to the Defenders of Freedom (GC1DKKT ) cache in Bowie, Texas. So please, can you help Dimba & Dino get back to see Simba.

Nice little multi. Not being a golfball collector, I checked on the net for the the definitions of some of the golfing terms, but had never heard of a snowman! Fortunately a mystery gave it away.
Late at night, with head torches we couldn't see how many sand traps there were (or even the 16th hole!) but we had an idea about the hide.
Thanks, Robmc.

30-Jun-08
Whoops got my logs mixed up here. I was thinking of this one when I logged the other one if that makes any sense. Anyway we enjoyed them both despite it being a rather cold and windy night.
Thanks again

29-Jun-08
Geoson and I went looking for this after running out of time on our first attempt. We did the calcs and searched but came up empty so we used the clue which suggested a location about 30m away. Hmm? Seemed too far, but there it was. Turns out the 'y' clue for the last waypoint was changed since we printed the cache page. Now it makes sense.

Know this spot well since I used to play down here as a kid and attended the state school just a bit North.

Grabbed two nice GC's and signed log. Thanks Team Hayjagen.

28-Jun-08
I enjoyed the short walks gathering the clues, and was relieved that my calculated GZ was a very likely spot. At first look, I couldn't see it, but after a bit of slithering, was able to see from an alternate view point. I took nothing but left a geocoin. Thanks for the walk and for the cache.

Found 200806281718 Smile. I'd certainly be a grumpy ol' troll if I had to live at GZ [:p] A very enjoyable late afternoon walk to collect all the relevant information resulted in an easy (and squeezy) find at GZ Wink

Found by Bob at 1115

The second of the two new caches for me this morning, although I did bits before and after doing the other one. There were a few muggles about on the trail this morning along with a few playing golf - but it was rather windy and I think most had stayed at home (or gone to work Wink), so I had little trouble on that score. I had been afraid that this might be a long multi and I wouldn't have had time to finish it before work this morning - but it turned out to be fairly short and I enjoyed the walk along the creek a lot Smile.

TNLN

Thanks again Team Hayjagen - a couple of nice ones in a nice area.

Found by Facitman and the Facit Family at 11:38am
After success at Grumpy Ol' Troll we couldn't leave this cache unfound even though we were "enjoying" steady rain. Our coats were holding up but we had some concern about the PDA! Walked from point to point and collected the information while enjoying the action on the creek as the rain had generated quite a flow - we think the local Dodo birds would enjoy surfing it as much as the ducks were today. Smile
Final coordinates put us at an odd location and after a short search we moved to a more logical site where Facitman spotted the cache before s-facit retrieved it. Once again we happily found a *FTF* Certificate and made a very quick log due to the heavy rain. Retreated to the Facit-mobile and home to warm up and dry out
TNLN (Red Face the Geocache swap bag is looking a bit bare)
Thanks Team Hayjagen, it's great to have another local cache to find

22-Jun-08
Found at 3.40pm GAFF1 (although there was a bit of assistance). We worked out the co-ords partly while doing the #1 troll cache and when we got to GZ we were a bit puzzled as to why we had to look in the middle of the creek! Looks like p-pprass's golfing knowledge is a tad short of being desirable. In any case c-pprass knew exactly where to look, but as there was a nice big muggle resting basically on top of it, she could only take a brief look. In the meantime the owner Team Hayjagen turned up and introduced himself to us and after a good long discussion of all things caching and watching Hayjagen junior 's skills with the GPS, we departed. Thanks for a very entertaining cache Team Hayjagen and it was very nice to meet you two.

22-Jun-08
We started this after Grumpy Ol Troll, but ran out daylight and good weather.

Waypoint 3 has been graffitied. We had walked past this point a few minutes earlier, but when we arrived after getting the location from wp2, we found some of the writing was obscured. Geoson was sure that the sign had been ok only minutes earlier, but he could be mistaken. However, I was able to remove most of the writing with some wet grass (no shortage of that today!) so he may have been right. Anyway, while most of the writing was removed, some letters remain obscured, however, the correct co-ordinates for WP4 are not effected by the vandalism.

Thanks Team Hayjagan, we'll come back for the cache soon.

Team Hayjagen launched its 2nd cache today. Enjoy!!!
