Whilst on our half lap convinced muggle driver to make a few stops here and there to make some finds. Thanks ps late logs sorry

24-Jul-24
Starting to think there are no yowies out here. Nice path and beautiful place thank you, wasnt brave enough to take the car across the creek bed

16-Apr-24
Now back on track, I decided to detour to this cache. A quick find was made and my name added to the log. With everything returned as found, I continued on my way. TFTC

02-Jan-24
Great little wander to find it

05-Aug-23
Parked car at Garlands creek as it was quite sandy. Enjoyed peaceful walk to cache. Lovely forest walk with lots of animal tracks in the sand

19-Jun-23
Traipsed 30 minutes through the scrub and along a dry creek bed to find this one! Lots of grass seeds and prickles were very attracted to pants, socks and shoes.
We didn't want to risk driving across the very soft sandy creek bed with no rescue plan or phone reception if we got stuck!

Travelling from North East Victoria to Longreach Qld happily caching along the way.
Thanks to all COs who maintain caches for us to enjoy. Smile

30-Dec-22
Thanks!

30-Dec-22
Parked at the creek and found the cache quickly. A few rusted cans was all we’ve seen. TFTC

23-Oct-22
I couldn’t get it because I was flooded on the other side of the creek

27-May-22
Drove as far as I could (baulked at the river crossing) and walked the rest of the way to the cache. There must have been a bit of activity around these parts in times past..

16-Oct-21
Thanks! We’ve just started our journey and are so excited!

11-Aug-21
Found easy. Need 4WD if wet to get to cache. TFTC

11-Aug-21
Way off track. What an adventure.tftc.

#15000 @1445
A short detour on my second day of my long weekend trip to Narrabri from Canberra stopping overnight at Orange. Almost ran over a long snake on my way in. Didn't have a lot of map detail, so parked 400m short and wandered through the bush an over the creek for a quick find. TFTC.

05-Apr-21
Found on the way home from the Dayboro MEGA Event. Just what I needed, a break from the highway. Many thanks Team Yowie. Cache is OK.

29-Mar-21
Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.

Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??

Thanks Team Yowie (F=46 H=5) for placing this cache and adding to our game.

19-Dec-20
12 years ago I found this cache, now on a visit past, I checked on it. All good, but getting a bit shabby, just a small break in the container, log dry, swaps getting sad and could do with a clean. Perhaps next time, I could do something about it.

23-Aug-20
Found 23.08.20 with Jorien16, been a while since this one has been found. TFTC

23-Aug-20
Found with Eloicius 23/08/2020. Not suitable for low cars. Cache and log a bit waterlogged, otherwise in decent condition.

22-Dec-19
This cache marks the end of day 1 of our 9 day Christmas adventure.
The flies were friendly but it was worth the detour. We managed to do a bit of exploring on foot and drove out a different way than we came in on.
Tftc

03-Dec-19
Great spot for a cache.off the beaten track

11-Sep-19
Nice diversion off the highway and into the bush. Parked by the creek and walked in. My ball point pen wouldnt work on the log and neither would the ball point pent provided in the cache so I pressed hard with the pen onto the paper and left an impression that I coloured up with soem charcoal.
TFTC.

03-Sep-19
Thank you for taking us off the besten track. Took BeeWare TB. TFTC

13-Aug-19

21-Jul-19
Never before ventured off the highway here and it was great to be amongst the scrublands. This is whats amazing about geocaching, thanks for bringing us here Team Yowie! : )

20-Jun-19
Tftc. I have been threw here hundreds of times in my life. Only started Geocaching in April and was happy to find one at the crossing. Left a trackable to continue it's journey with someone else

09-Jun-19
Travelling to Moree during the long weekend from the ACT meeting TheSkype. Long but a rewarding drive, seeing the sights and caching along the way. This cache was a short drive off hwy, creek dry as a bone. TFTC

14-May-19
Yaaay!! I'm off on my Brisbane trip. Sad to be leaving my lady and her kids. I shall have to cheer myself up with geocaching ...

I've done some pocket queries and some research on the results. I'm trying to meet lots of targets for Professor Rapidly Wild's UGC series at home, so I'm seeking :

Two caches placed in 2000 - none found so far
One cache placed in 2001 - none found so far
119 caches of size "Regular" - Twelve found, counting this one.
20 caches of size "Large" - none found so far
One letterbox in Qld - none found so far
One letterbox in NSW - none found so far
Any puzzles and multicaches I can reasonably find.

I've located enough caches to find on this trip on this trip to complete all but the last target. So we'll see how I go.

I came out here for the "Regular" sized cache, and I'm glad I did. I loved the drive, the puppies got a walk, and I found the cache. The bush on the drive was magnificent.

Day 1, Monday - 12 in total, including five "Regular" sized caches.
Day 2, Tuesday - 16 in total

Find no 12 of 16 today.
Thanks, Team Yowie

Find #3109
Heading north from Canberra to Brisbane doing the windmill multi and noted that CO suggests this cache is a worthwhile visit. And it is! Had no trouble getting across the dry creek to GZ. We had a good look around and saw lots of old metal bits and bobs.
And we are the first visitors this year to sign the log!
Thanks for showing us this spot Team Yowie.

15-Dec-18
Travelling to the event in Dubbo. Decided to detour to this one. Not sure of what was under the haze as it was spitting we took the 500mtr walk to the easy find. Thank you for bringing us yet to another Cobb & CO station.
TFTC.

15-Dec-18
On our way to Canberra for Christmas after overnight in Narrabri, with an Event in Dubbo this afternoon. Can we make it in the Astra we are driving? Made it to the creek crossing ok but as it isn't our own car, did as others did and legged it the 500 meters our so to a quickly found cache. All in good condition. And we made it eas1ily out and back onto the Highway.

Yeah! That was fun. A Favourite Point for the location.

Log signed and cache replaced at 9:28 AM on December 15, 2018. TFTC.

09-Nov-18
Good cache spot

05-Nov-18
Big Grin I Liked the short trip off the Highway into a nice creek /forest area .looks a great bush camping area . All good with the cache!! Thanks Team Yowie.. +FP

04-Nov-18
TFTC!
Saw some kangaroos on my way in, no yowies (Or snakes). Left a travel bug that wanted to see kangaroos

07-Sep-18
It's easy to miss the turn off from the highway (especially if there's a B-double on your tail), but after turning around at a rest area a couple of km down the road (southbound) we got to Yarraman Rd and headed for GZ. Nice easy drive for the GeoOutback and we soon had the cache in hand, then spent some time walking around discovering some relics from the past, and maybe not so distant past.

TFTC. Coming to locations like this is what caching is all about.

Nice exscuse for a walk.

05-Apr-18
Well that was a fun bush run in the Nissan Pulsar! Heeding previous advice we parked at the T-junction closest to Creek near cache.

Taught the geofam about bush tracks...saw roo, emu, lace monitors (goannas) and then near GZ we saw the real thing...munging on a very old stinky emu No trackable. ..but tftc...great distraction from the 2 day drive home!

31-Oct-17
A nice drive in through the bush, the geodog enjoyed exploring the site. Nice little hide, easy to find. The pen was not working, so log wasn't signed. Tftc.

22-Oct-17
Found by Mary & David at 1330. Our first for the day driving from Goondiwindi to Dubbo. Followed Yarraman Road in from the highway. There was one sandy bit en route to the creek crossing but the GeoPrado handled both easily. Cache found snug and dry. A FP for showing us such an old site. We thought we could see races of stone walls, shaped pieces of timber and lots of rusty iron. We also found a fragment of kitchen china, and here and there were traces of garden. What an existence. The resident Yowie (an acquaintance of yours?) must have had the day off. Our thanks to Team Yowie.

24-Sep-17
Hot day. Gauged Bohena Creek as impassable with our Hyundai i30 so parked and walked the 500m or so to the cache. Hard to imagine the hive of activity this place once would have been. Thanks for bringing us here!

21-Sep-17
Lots of dry loose sand on the road heading in made for a few nervous moments heading in to this one as i was worried that being on my own i didn't want to get bogged here and i didn't really have much in the way of recovery gear. But fortunately just being in high 4wd gear was enough to get by and i managed to park at the closest corner to the cache.
Made my way to the GZ and took me a few minutes to track this one down as the gps wouldn't settle. Changed mode to radar and locked on to the cache location straight away.
Thx for highlighting this area to me, i had driven through here several times before and had never ventured off the bitumen before i discovered geocaching and this time the big straight road was far more interesting with a stop or two along the way. Cheers

17-Sep-17
We really enjoyed the country drive in on the track to find this well hidden cache. Great to see some wild flowers out now as we drove along - pale purple ground and some broom and golden wattle - sure signs off Spring?
TFTC Team Yowie and for placing your cache here for us to enjoy our drive in the bush!

04-Sep-17
Found geocach at 30 42.460. 149 34.121.
The coordinates in my phone were 1km out but my fortunately my GPS had the geocach preprogrammed into it with accurate coordinates.
So . . . after two attempts and a lot of bushwalking, I found it.

09-Aug-17
Found a track, unnamed. Heading to the cache, perpendicular off the highway. 3k's direct was about 6k's by track. Quick find one there.
Spotted a family of emus near the highway turnoff. Stayed with them till they headed back to the bush.
TFTC and for the Pilliga experience Team Yowie

08-Jul-17
An easy find, drove right to quite close in the Hyundai I30, the creek crossing was interesting both times. Cannot find any info on this Cobb & Co depot, will keep googling...

29-Jun-17
6589. Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1100. It was very wet this morning and baby had to take the appropriate measures to stay dry. Found the track in and went for a bit of a drive through the forest. Locating the container was the easy bit. Decided to continue on and have a bit of a look through the area. Some where the road disappeared and we had to 4x4 through some deep sand across the creek. The country here is worth being geographically embarrassed in. SL Tnx Team Yowie

06-Jun-17
Pulled up and walked to it

10-Jan-17
Tftc. A hot day today for a stroll in the scrub!!

10-Jan-17
Heading from Narrabri back to Orange with drobbonz and kiwisteve2. Took the plunge in our non-4WD and got to the area of the creek crossing. From here we decided to go by foot. Great stroll across the creek with the spotting of lots of snake trails - some huge! No snakes sighted though. Found a lot of scrap around the GZ and the remnants of days gone by. Spotted 3 pairs of kangaroos as well. Definitely worth the detour. Here from Portland Oregon (home of the original stash) visiting family for the holidays. Tftc

06-Jan-17
Found on a holidays, more details to follow when holidays are over.

24-Dec-16
What a beautiful spot, flies were very friendly today and the birds were in full song TFTC

02-Dec-16
After exploring the caves we travelled on to this cache. A few k drive in on the dirt track. A quick find among the Roos here today. TFTC.

12-Jul-16
Pa wasn't too sure about driving in here as the van needs plenty of room to turn around. After perusing his maps he decided it would be OK, so off we went. Nearly missed one turn but found our way in. A lovely drive and what a peaceful spot it was today. However by the look of the bike tracks, I know it isn't always. It was possible for Pa to drive almost all the way to GZ and it was certainly an easy find for me. No other treasures to be found however, so we drove back to the creek crossing for morning tea. Many thanks Team Yowie for placing and maintaining this cache which brought us to this magical spot! TNLN SL TFTC

08-Nov-15
Driving our way back to Queensland and the placement of caches along the way is always a very good reason to stretch the legs. This place, today, was exceptional, with all the rain that has happen lately there was not one brown plant and everywhere you looked was green. If we had had our camper we would have stayed awhile here and soaked up the essence of the area. It appears that Snap Happy has been here by the log book and snavelled the Coin I thought we were going to collect LOL.

[green]Find #7082[/green]... Cool

Found this en route to Werribee from Warwick... Big Grin

A beautiful day to be out and about in this beautiful area as I head for home after another fantastic house sitting job... I apologize for the generic logs - It no way detracts from my enjoyment and the efforts gone to by the CO's... Cool

A short search, found the cache, stamped and returned... Cool

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for my enjoyment Team Yowie... Big Grin

I headed for this cache from Baradine this morning, via the forest roads of the Pilliga Smile
What a relaxing cruise through the seemingly endless forests [^]
My relaxation was briefly interrupted by having to cross the busy Newell Highway, but crossing the highway was as much highway driving as I had to suffer before being back on the dirt Razz

And about 10 minutes later, I arrived at Garlands Crossing Smile
What a beautiful spot !!
Just far enough away from the highway to not be able to hear the trucks Big Grin
And with plenty of interest scattered around on the ground !!

I strolled the last couple of hundred metres to GZ and found heaps of bits of glass, ceramics metal and plants that just don't belong out here !! Razz
I was hoping to find a lemon tree !!
Alas no !!

The cache was an easy find on me stroll.

I left the "Torsten vs Karen" geocoin here for the next lucky finder Big Grin

TFTC, definitely a favourite spot !!

09-Aug-15
Great spot for a picnic lunch!!

19-May-15
TFTC nice spot

25-Mar-15
Drove in via Yarramans Rd forgetting the heavy storm of yesterday. A few boggy sections so used 4WD for the duration. Had to cut a fallen pine away from the track using my Swedish hatchet which I had only thought yesterday as one item to leave behind next trip. Arrived at creek & it boggy but very fresh 4WD tracks so followed them. Then a short walk & caching deeds done. Enjoyable drive with plenty of emus about. Thanks Team Yowie - always a pleasure to go off road & see a bit of nature.

19-Jan-15
On our way home from Coonabarabran to Belmont via Narrabri picking up smileys on the way.
This cache is a great example of why we enjoy this hobby so much, getting to interesting places off the beaten track. Arrived at GZ for a quick find, cache is in good shape. TNLNSL.
Although there's not much to see here you can feel the history, well, we could. Saw the biggest Oleander tree ever just here and tried to imagine the hustle and bustle as the coaches came through. No yowies today. An easy drive in the Geo Forester. Thanks Team Yowie. This gets a fav point.

11-Jan-15
Found with Bedmaker.
Finding this cache was a nice breakup to the highway drive and gave us a chance to explore the area a bit. We made it to GZ ok and quickly found the cache.
This area was very interesting, thanks for bringing us here.

11-Jan-15
Found with Tassiegirl13 while on the way back to Brisbane.
This was a nice little detour off the highway. There had been only the slightest bit of rain around which had settled the dust so the drive in was easy. Once at GZ it was interesting walking around the area. We found a few old bits and pieces so can only assume they must have been left over from the ruins.
We searched around and found the cache easily enough. All was quite fine with it so we added our names to the log.
Thanks for placing this cache here, it's somewhere that we wouldn't have known about if not for the cache. I'm happy to give it a favourite point and hope that encourages others to stop by.

31-Dec-14
On New Years' Eve we left our camper trailer at Warrumbungle National Park, and went for a caching trip to Narrabri, Gunnedah and Coonabarabran.

Took off from the hwy on a small dirty road, a few kangaroos jumped over the road. The way back to the Hwy was more straight forward.

21-Dec-14
Sorry for the delay in logging this on the internet but we went without it for a couple weeks holidaying. Not much to see here but an emu. Always think it amazing that a Cobb & Co station would be in such a remote area. Thanks for the cache.

20-Dec-14
Heading south today on the highway we took the opportunity to grab this cache.

We loved this little adventure of the highway to break up our day. Once at GZ the cache was a nice quick find.

This one gets a favourite point from us for the location and the mini adventure required to get there.

Found on a trip to and from Tocumwal, NSW, from the Gold Coast. Appologies for the late logs, I have not been well of late, suffering from mental illness, but am planning a caching comeback, so thought I should do my best to catch up on logs.

Tha caches visited on this trip were not very numerous, but were quality caches. Thanks for all the hides.

Another favourite point here. Kept expecting a Yowie to run out and grab me..... Pic uploaded as well.

17-Jul-14
going down dirt tracks are good to test any car capabilities but forgot that sgt.rios88 car is only new to him and his wondering if a scraping noise was going to get to his ears got the cache at the end. tftc

17-Jul-14
Great dirt track drive to this cache. I wasn't sure my car would be able to handle it but being a ford it was a champion and cut through the sand and dirt with ease to the GZ. Saw a few kangaroos and other wildlife looking for this cache. Was a beautiful trip here. Great hide tftc

17-Jul-14
Found with Rios and WC as we returned to sydney, driving a sedan through here was prob not the best idea as i had to listen to Rios not stop talk about how good his new ford is. The cache was a lot less painful Wink TFTC

28-Jun-14
Don't know how you knew this was a coach stop bit it was a good location. Didn't have the cruiser and had a couple of anxious moments on way in. Lucky no recent rain tftc

05-Jun-14
Revisited this cache and grabbed a couple of TB's that have been here for more than 6 months, will move them on to another location.

04-Jun-14
This is a nice area to 'hang around' for a while; especially when you have the flu. [xx(] gerrynewgirl and I decided to check on the maintenance of this cache and all was good. gerrynewgirl retrieved the two (2) TB so that they might continue on their way. Big Grin

06-Dec-13
I am working nearby in the forest for a few days so made some time to come and find this cache.
It was an awesome drive on some back tracks from where I was but I made sure I took the easy way out to the highway to then travel on through to Narrabri for the night.

Left 2 trackables to continue their journey.

TFTC

26-Nov-13
It was a lot further than I anticipated, we finally got to GZ and found the cache. Very interesting history.

14-Sep-13
Thanks for the awesome cash we found heaps of peaces of things from the horse and cart thanks SmileSmileSmile

18-Aug-13
Found with Just a cacher on an escape from the Canberra cold to visit some friends and family in Brisbane.

A quick grab here on day 2 of the escape. The hound liked this one as she had a run in the field as we headed to the cache. An interesting spot here.

Thanks for the cache.

18-Aug-13

Enjoyed the diversion and the drive through the forest. Stopped short of a sandy creek crossing as it looked way too soft and I would test the credibility of friends had I got badly bogged for the 3rd time in 6 months. It would be interesting to be able to see Garlands crossing when it was inhabited. TFTC Team Yowie

01-Apr-13
Took the detour and had a pleasant drive in on a newly graded road. Some folks were camped by the crossing but didnt bother us as we went I n search of the cache.

A quick find in a logical spot , not much left around to say what was here but thanks for the interesting break in the journey. TFTC

Found today while heading north. Great little detour off the highway. Thx Team Yowie for the cache

Found on the 2012 Tour de Eclipse. My Great Grandmother travelled on Cobb and Co from Newcastle to Kalgoolie. I wonder if she travelled through here. Thanks for the cache guys, we love your work.

Found on the great Eclipse Trip of 2012 with Freddo.

A day of caching from Moree down to Dubbo. A road trip with a chance to stretch the legs with a cache is a good thing.

Thanks to Team Yowie and clear skies from TeamAstro.

In company with 'Clas-Nate' went exploring for the cache whilst camping for the NSW long weekend at Schwagers Bore. A nice drive into the CZ, no trouble with the sandy creek creek crossing. After a short search of the area, located the non-local trees/bushes, the old ruins and then the cache.

Signed the log, exchanged swaps - TFTC 'Team Yowie', made the w/end more enjoyable.

28-Sep-12
Was out camping in the Pilliga State Forest and ventured out with Cache Trekker and the geo-hounds in search of a couple of caches. Lovely area not far off the highway. Thanks!

08-Sep-12
Found at 3:50 PM GAFF1. Enjoyed this detour as the track that we followed was framed with wattle. We were able to get all of the way to GZ with our van without any problem and then started to search for the cache and any signs of the Cobb & Co station and we found both!
Thanks Team Yowie

01-Aug-12
We were a bit concerned about all the hunting signs about the place but we tracked on through the scrub and over the creek to grab the goodies. Quite a beautiful spot and was nice to imagine back to the Cobb & Co days. Shame so many want to leave beer bottles everywhere - we'll blame the hunters? Cheers!

With valour rather than discretion, we decided to park before the crossing and walk. (The lumps of wood in the sand crossing worried me) A nice walk to stretch the legs, and a fairly quick find. Lots of fun removing cobblers pegs back at the car. TNLN. TFTC.

Before setting up camp for the night nearby we drove to within a few hundred meters and then decided to walk in the rest of the way as the track was getting a little to sanding for the 2WD. After a short stroll we arrived at GZ and had the cache in hand Smile With our names added we returned the cache to its hiing spot and headed back to the car.
