TFTC nice little hike

The family were keen to get out and go for a drive to somewhere we could go for a walk. We arrived at this beautiful camping spot and wandered down the water and just enjoyed the serenity. Wonderful spot. We arrived at GZ to find the cache on the ground out in the open, so we placed it back in the most likely spot with off the ground. Great location.

Very nice little spot, if it wasn't winter I may have braved a swim at the nearby beach.

great hide, the up hill walk almost killed me!!!

Container spotted halfway down hill. Wet log, put cache back at coordinates. TYFTC

Well what an adventure.....note to self .....don't drive down steep greasy track in the wet......lol. low range 4wd required to get back out from down at the river then realised that there was no need to go all the way down. Cache container was found in a very bad state and smashed up so we replaced the cache container with one of our spares and put in a new log.TFTC.

Found on our 2 week trip to Bathurst and surrounds with Roostaman.
Many nice trails, scenery and lush pastures around here.
Thanks for the cache Smelly Boot,

**# 23943** Found on a fine sunny Autumn day with MrsRoosta. Wink
Another trip around TRLT series to do the latest few sections.
Some of the roads are VMLT (Very Much less travelled) and that's a good thing.
Mainly good safe hides and nice quick finds. Wink
The log was soaked, so I added a few pages as a temp log.
Thanks for the cache Smelly Boot,

Past the gate,
and down the track.
I found out where the Baker's were at Big Grin

I left the geomobile,
by the BBQ,
and went a wandering cross country.

Along the way I gathered an entourage of curious cows !! [:o]
They wouldn't stop following me,
until I headed down the steep slope to reach GZ Big Grin

They continued to watch me poke around though,
from high above !!
And eventually I found the remains of the cache Big Grin

Looks like the muggles got to this one while looking for firewood Sad
I pieced together what I could,
but this cache is in dire need of some help Smile

TFTC and visit to an out of the way place that only a geocache can take me [^]

Tftc. Very exposed so did a big cover up job. The container is very cracked and decaying.

Found as part of an Orange and surrounds geomission with fitzy_1965, AngelG27 & Sol de Lune (signed as FASS to save time & spaceBig Grin) Top weather, great company and lots of laughs meant for an epic weekend of caching all round! Big GrinCoolBig Grin

Moving right along on our geomission through the reserve and this one was a quick grab at GZ. Great views and lovely to see and hear the water running over the rapids!

Thanks for the hide, Smelly Boot Smile

Out in the back blocks with SpecimenX, AngelG27 and fitzy...with dirt roads and mud thrown in for good measure. Certainly makes for interesting caching.....

A short walk over towards the general GZ area where the cache was soon found nicely tucked away and in good condition. Some great views in the area and worthy of a trip back one day......

Thanks again Smelly Boot. Fav point for this one. Enjoyed the area.

11248. Headed up to the Orange region with AngelG27, Sol de Lune and specimenX ("FASS") for a fun-filled weekend of caching. Lots of caches found, a few not found, and a lot of laughs had as we toured around over 2 full days as far north as Wellington which resulted in 124 finds for me.

After being muggled out at Shame shame shame, this was the next cache on our drive around below Orange. This is where having the Jeep proved to be useful and a lot of fun !! Wheeee !! Got close to GZ and walked the last 80m for a quick find. Log signed, cache returned and we were off to the next one.

Thanks again Smelly Boot !!

Fitzy_1965, SpecimenX, Sol de Lune and I (logged as "FASS") headed from Canberra to Orange and surrounds for a caching blitz over the 30-31 July weekend. We logged around 1000kms in the Geo-Jeep, selecting those caches that Fitzy had not previously found. I scored around 130 caches for the trip. The visit was characterised by blue skies, very green paddocks, lots of water off and on the road, a fair amount of mud, and good company! Still plenty of caches to collect and scenic spots to explore on a return trip. Thanks to my fellow travellers for a fun weekend, and the COs for all their efforts in putting out and maintaining the caches.

55th for the day at 1435 (60th for the trip). After being thwarted by muggles at "shame shame shame" we headed into this reserve to grab this little series. The geo-Jeep powered through the mud and water - weeeee! More great river views as Fitzy and I made our way to GZ, but Fitzy made the find. Thanks Smelly Boot!

Orange trip April 2016. My search for an overnight spot brought me to this amazing reserve. Plenty of thistles as I walked down to this one.

Thanks.

This cache was found lying on the ground in the open and looked like it had been attacked by local wildlife, so after signing the log we tried to make a more secure hide for it. TFTC.

We found a really nice campsite at Bakers Shaft and after a bit of a late getaway we again started heading north aiming for the pprass camping event this weekend picking up caches along the way. We pulled up about 70 metres from gz and it looked like the road went round in a circle so laziness kicked in and we decided to dive on down. Once down the steep track on the river flats we were greeted with another fantastic camping area which hopefully we will use next time we are in the area but unfortunately we now had 80 metres to go and all up hill, that's what happens when you try and be lazy but the walk through the long grass was well worth the views at gz where he cache took a little while to locate as there were quite a few places it could be even for a container this size and colour.
After taking some pictures we headed back to the car where we had to use 4wd to drag the camper back up the loose hill.
Thanks again smelly boot, a favourite from us.

Another easy find at a great camping spot. Love it! TFTC

Third cache on a morning walk from the Bakers Shaft were we had camped for the night. Nice container, would probably had been even better had it been painted in some camo paint.

Was suprised when we drove over the hill to find this little spot. Looks great for camping and relaxing. Thanks for the great day out Smelly Boot, really had a fantastic time.

The bit in the description about only suitable for 4WD is sooo True, pity Geo-Dad didn't read all the description before we went down the hill in the Honda CRV. After a bit of savage rally driving with Geo-pup in back, managed to get the CRV up the hill (God only knows how), I thought we were screwed.
Lesson learnt, read all the description before proceeding.
Thanks for the Cache Smelly Boot, next time we will walk in. lol Smile

Drove along the track towards about 120m away from GZ and decided to stop because the track heading below to the river looked rather steep and rough...Mr Bushies2 went out there by himself and I took our dog for a walk around till he returned...another beauty spot and we would love to spend all day here but we had to go back to Blayney before dark. Thanks again.

The last of the three caches in this lovely little reserve which we had to ourselves today. No problems finding this particular container. After the duties we retired back down to the river where we had lunch and spent a couple of hours doing a spot of panning. Gold mining operations were carried out on the nearby Junction Reefs on and off from 1870 to 1954. After that open cut mining was carried out up until 1996. Unfortunately the mining area across the river from Bakers shaft reserve is off limits even though it is now closed. In fact Bakers Shaft was a small mine also. The toilet now sits atop it. Enough of the history lesson - nice cache spot.

Came out this way to check on a few of our caches - this one seems all OK.

Easy find and easy drive to it, ground a tad soft under rubber but had no problems at all. Plenty of flow in the river.

A bit of a 4WD drive down to the river, a nice stroll and a cache was found.
Nice peaceful spot here.
We had a slightly bouncier ride out, but quite tame really.

Thanks.

Found the grassy track leading off from the campsite and followed it all the way down to the river. Lovely spot. Walked up to GZ and found the cache. Contents all dry.

Though it was going to be a challenge getting the 4wd out out of here, but Webguy got good traction and fanged it up the hill without any worries. Thanks for showing us this nice spot.

No worries with this one. very long grass, hot day and shorts n thongs made for a slow tense walk..interesting container. I gained access from bakers shaft cache
GC1DE7X the track is up behind the toilets...thank you

GPS was sending us down Bakers Road, which is locked with a big gate, has danger signs and threats of fines for trespassers. Needless to say we didn't find this one.

Had a great walk to GZ and was just starting the hunt. Looked up and saw a colour that was not meant to be there. That always helps.

Great spot. SL TFTC

Walked through the long grass to this one, keeping a wary eye out for Joe Blakes. Camping at the reserve which I quite like so left the other cache for another visit. Thanks.

2649.

Our pups would love to come camping in here, plenty of room to run around and a cool spot to swim. The cache was found quite quickly and I'm glad it was a bit bigger than the previous cache.

Thanks Smelly Boot for sharing the area.

Cool a caching nook, a caching hive,
This will keep a cacher happy and alive
A brisk walk to the first on the hill
Through grass clumps, taking the odd spill
To reach a tree standing, tall and wide
With a large cache safely stowed in its hide
Took a duck and left some roo’s
This kept the kids amused

Was able to drive the 2wd to within 120m of GZ withount any problems. Great to see water flowing in the creek.

Found the cache quite easily and quickly. Parked up on the top of the hill and took a nice casual stroll down to GZ. Another great cache by the Smelly Boots. Thanks for bringing us to this location.

Drove all the way to the river and had a bit of a look about. Be a nice camp spot. Now off to find cache and a quick find it was.

Now this really is a great spot for a Cache. In the afternoon sun out of the wind the cache was soon located.
Took a Key Chain and Left a Duck after which Geo Missus and Geo Dog decided to venture down to the river to explore further.
Why walk when you can drive? so I followed the track to the bottom to pick them up for the climb out.
This really is a terrific place and we will be back again.

Thanks Smelly Boot for the Cache

We loved this area so much that we vowed that we would be back when the weather warms up a bit for a bit more of an explore. The day we visited was quite wet and very cold. As we mentioned in other logs for the nearby caches Mr Stilllookin used to camp just a little way down stream, but now you have shown this alternative to us, we will be back.
Took nothing and left nothing as we left our swaps back in the car.
Thanks for the cache.

Found itBig Grin! We walked on over from the other nearby cache. Thats when we spotted the fresh tyre tracks and realised that we could have driven in. Oh well, I needed the walk anyway. It took a while to find this one due the the great camo job. We took the LED torch and left a candle holder and a medalion. I was interested in looking at the camp site down below so we legged it back to the car and drove in. Magic, 5 FTF's and a 4wd adventure thrown in too. What a great day. As I was leaving I realised just how lucky I'd been because we bumped into the Scenic Routers. Thanks for stopping to say g'day. Thanks smelly boot for a grand day out.
