A DNF for us today despite 4 pairs of eyes looking and some time invested. Will be back.
We had a bit of time up our collective sleeves before a catch-up with mr b but with 3 of us looking, then a PAF, there was to be no cache found this first day of 2018.
Happy New Year K_E, will be back

TFTC. Out for a late afternoon stroll along the track side of the Maitai River.
Cache located after a bit of a hunt around.
Thanks Kiwi_Explorer for placing the cache.

A bit more challenging than others in the area. We wanted to get rid of a TB, but no suitable container found so far. TFTC
I did not know about this part of the path until today. I followed geotrails to get me close to gz, which made getting there easy. Then I made it much too hard, searching far too many places before slowing down and looking. Once it was spotted it was a - pleased noone was watching - moment as it really wasn't that hard to see. Thanks Kiwi_Explorer for the cache
Had a good hunt around in th bushes, feeling a little dodgy. GPS kept telling me I was 5 metres away, never got any closer. A challenge for another day.
Two recent DNFS and no finds for quite a while so came to check cache today. Hmmm now where did I hide it!? [xx(] Stood in a likely spot that looked familiar but GPS said 20m to go. Heck Im going to have to "find" my own cache. So I followed that until GPS said 6m. Ahh there it is. Log a little damp but ok for now. Checked GPS again - 4m. Happy with that. All good here.
Found on our 25 day New Zealand South Island holiday.
Apologies for the late log but with little or no internet as we travelled and only super slow WiFi in van parks I decided to log all finds on my return home.
Found on a two night stopover in Nelson

With Cwnn and hollytean on a lovely Christmas day swim and bike ride. Merry Christmas.
A big apology to those that found this one in the state it must have been. We should have got out there to fix it. But a big thanks to Tonyflew for the maintenance. Much appreciated.
Having read the previous few logs we set off with some new equipment in hand. A reasonably quick find and replaced the disintegrating log with a fresh one and a new zip-lock bag. Nice cammo! TFTC #268
Thank you. A very challenging one. Log is non existent I'm afraid but we were there!!
#8406. The GPSr had me up a steep bank next to the boundary fence. I made it up there with some difficulty, but it didn't look promising. Luckily Troodles spotted the cache lower down. Nice swimming hole. TFTC.
Swimming hole looks pretty deep. No-one around today even though it was a pleasant day and ideal for a swim.
A challenging environment, both from the satellite and from the terrain point of view. Finally found the cache even though the GPSr was indicating I should be another 10m further up the hill.
Despite the plastic bag looking in OK condition, the logbook was wet mush and ditto with what looks like a replacement log book someone has popped in. Didn't seem any point either adding a new log book or sealing up the bag. Took a photo instead as proof of finding. TFTC.

Great short walk in the sun, used to ride round here before I moved. Well hidden, log is damp. You should make it lid side up. Thanks
Found by Mr Kiddzinn after Mr Wacls lead him to it.

GZ is a place I spent lots of time at in the past with the little ones. The temperature today was not conducive to swinging from the ropes so no muggles. A short intensive search delivered a smilie. Thanks for the memories and the cache.
Anytime I've been in this area there has always been too many muggles to attempt to find this cache but today it was pretty much deserted so we took advantage of that and headed to GZ. It took a short hunt to find the well camo'd cache while heeding underfoot conditions. Both log and bag are wet but log is still usable if careful. TFTC.
Needed help for this one (Thanks JNYMAK) as both my gps's don't put the cache location where i found it. TFTC
We visited on the this side of the river this time, so we searched for a few minutes and found the cache. Thanks!
At last, no muggles on this side of the river and having an enjoyable run with my lady [:-)] TFTC.
Finally found after lots of slipping around. Cache smaller than expected, no room to drop off TBs unfortunately. Lovely location. Put new dry Ziploc bag in as old one was very wet. Tftc.
Quick find on a morning wander before the weather sets in. Cache a bit damp, tipped out some water in the bottom. Thanks for the stop.
A sunny afternoon to walk to this cache with HelloMrs who had already found this cache on a previous visit.
Got this one quiet quickly. The log is a bit wet and would need some sun tho.
Thanks fpr the cache.

Third attempt at this one, lots of mugles to avoid! Finally used common cache sense and realised where it would be, thanks!!
GPS had me scrambling all over the place, after a while realised it wasnt being very useful so thought logically "Where would I hide it if I was CO?" soon had in hand. Thanks
A quick diversion on the way into work this morning and found pretty easily. Good job the cache is above most heads judging by the river debris nearby!!!
Thanks goes to Nordy1 for the dry log. Much appreciated.

Wandered round in circles for awhile before finding it, GPS was a bit off on this one,, Dried out container and bag , replaced log with a few pages out of pad i had with me signed and returned to spot i found it (old log unreadable) Thanx4tc ,,,,Shud B ok for a while now,,,
Found it on a glorious Nelson winter's day and remembered where we used to come for a summer's swim with the kids. TFTC
So pleased the KEs can't see THIS cache from their dining room window!!!! They would have had a good laugh!!!! Seems my GPS was 6 metres out today, and I believed it - - - until I thought again and looked at the terrain rating. Fortunately at this stage a big helping of luck kicked in and - - - - there it was. Thanks for the fun.
Found with the help of the hint. Warm, windy afternoon and people swimming nearby so had to be discreet.
Cache in good shape. Cellular triangulation in this area may confuse tracking, so beware.

I fear that the river may have claimed this one. Will replace in a higher spot soon.
Merry Christmas! We weren't able to search for this when we visited the lovely location yesterday as muggles were sitting nearby, so we called by again this morning when all was quiet. SL. TFTC.

Nice spot TFTC. Was this tied at one point? Might be good to identify the cache name and owner in the log book. I think some of the heavy rain came through this way but cache only had a few drops of water inside.

Was really happy to get this one on 06 November 2010 at 11:06:00. I logged a DNF previously after I just couldn't find it on my own... I was looking for a 400ml container, but the one there is only 200ml container, so I didn't think it could've been where it was! Karen spotted it, and we left a GC behind.
Cache replaced today and it is now tied to the fence to avoid it going kayaking again.
I think the flood might have put paid to this one. Searched thoroughly with hint but only debris to be found.
With todays flood this cache might have gone West. We will go check on it when the river recedes.
Second place I looked and no muggles around so a quick sign of the log and off for some other nearby caches showing on our gps thanks for the cache - we must come back and do more of the walks around here
Target Cache. We left home intending this to be the third cache of the day but were slightly diverted and it became #14 mmmm never mind (this seams to happen a lot to us when we cache) a nice stroll and a quick cache TFTC
Searched every spot mentioned in the clue but no joy, all i got for this one was a cut finger by the rusty barbed wire - hope my tetanus is up to date!
Second find using the new iPhone. Got us there but we needed the hint. Good spot for the family. Thanks.
11.30am - Had to watch a muggle roung our parked car, had a nice wee walk to find it, we are amazed with all the lovely spots and parks in Nelson - TFTC
I have had this one loaded in the GPSr for ages and I must bike past here nearly every week. Had a few minutes spare today between jobs so snuck down the track for a quick find. TFTC
After a nice river walk we chilled on the banks and searched for the cache. Easy find.

#1671 As the GPS wanted me 7m into the field I guessed that I would need the clue. An easy find once that was read. TFTC DS8300
Nice brisk walk to this one.
Nice spot.
Grabbed a pic, but had shaky hands so its blurred - so wont post it.

Good one Mr KE. We have splashed around in the water there many years ago when the kids were younger and still wanted to go to the beach with us. Now it's just sad old us geocaching in these lovely places.
