Lovely location. The water looks so inviting. We were able to restore the original cache to its former glory.Freddo and e.gregory1 were heading up the middle of Australia following Stuart's well trodden route. We were travelling in air conditoned comfort and style. No stale food. No camels to carry water. We were leaving the cold winter for the northern season.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is the twentieth and ninth day of Julius Caesar's Month in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a cool cloudy and raining. No wind today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Found on a trip north from Adelaide for a few weeks with Freddo. After checking out the creek we clambered up the hill and found the lid from the original cache and a bit of cache junk. We broadened our search and found the original tin and new cache with the original logbook nicely hidden about 4 metres away. After signing the logbook we put the old lid with the new cache and re-hid it as found. Thanks CHEDENT for the cache.

On the hunt for other beautiful spots we also discovered this one thank you! I would not recommend a 2WD in but if you know what you're doing you might be fine.

Ocw the Bebes. We stayed at Pine Creek and made a quick dash in one morning g to collect this one. Track off the main road to GZ was easy and once there we made a quick climb and soon had CIH. Tftc

OCw PelDroedGwin As were travelling with geocat Levin and geodog Peppa and the National Park is sooo big we had originally thought that visiting (and caching) Kakadu would have to wait until another time. However, we stayed the night at Pine Creek and realised that this cache was just a short hop. We left the pets minding the caravan and set off early to dip our ties into Kakadu. We saw no traffic on the road and enjoyed the drive to GZ. I wonder why this secret spot is no longer signposted. The signage close to the parking area looks quite new. A fun scramble soon had CIH and after taking a few pics we were on our way back to the caravan for breakfast. Tftc

What a beautiful spot. Thank you for guiding us here. Definitely a 4WD Track after the last wet season, as there are some deeper washouts on the road, though still an easy drive if you have some clearance. Had a bath in the pool too Smile Geocache is in good condition

Driving from Litchfield to Kakadu, we’re stopping for what we have time to, prioritising better DTs where we can, and not forgetting trigs where practical.
Awesome.
We had a great drive in from the highway, we had a Prado today, but would have had no problems in our Forester. The little creek looked great, a bit snappy looking for me to swim though! We started searching for the cache, found some great spots and hit gold right at the top…. Cache and log on good condition. If you think the cache is lidless and logless, look deeper…. The original logbook is there, and in great shape. Coordinates accurate to 2-3m for us today.
Thanks for hiding your cache! The best of the week so far!

After a great few nights staying in Litchfield/Batchelor, it’s time to head to our next destination, Kakadu! But of course, we have to grab caches along the way, and this just so happened to be one of then…

This is one of my favourite caches we’ve done this trip. We got our rental Toyota Prado in perfectly fine, a few near mirror takeouts, but otherwise nothing.

Then we wandered to GZ, up the rocky hill avoiding all the plants and the just as I popped over the apex of the hill, the cache was soon obvious. All in good condition, CO should put an owner maintenance to clear the NM attribute… TNLN SL

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache CHEDENT

We came to checkout ferny gully. What a nice little spot. Not sure how many people visit as not much signage on the road. We rode our bikes in we are towing. Had a quick dip in a small rockpool.
The cache was found after a bit of a search.
Thanks for placing

Erste Dose im Kakadu NP. Der Weg hierher ein kleines Abenteuer. Hat Spass gemacht.

Not a chance we would have got the van in here, although the track was good but a couple of sections most cars with sense would get in. I'm sure the walk was good for us though and the track showed the many footprints of many varieties of critters and creatures that use it also. The creek once we arrived was stunning and so worth the walk. Not too tricky getting up to the cache, a few green ants but only a couple. Cache was found okay, found the tin with pencil and behind it the newly replaced container with old log and items, very waterproof and tucked away safe.

When GreyHams discovered a great deal to relocate a motor home from Broome to Darwin, things quickly slotted into place to head out for another adventure together. Three planes and a full day of travelling later we arrived in Broome, with the most amazing orange sunset out the windows of the plane.

Plenty of time to discover a few of Broomes caches and places before collecting our wheels the following morning. It slept 6 and had all the luxuries, it was huge, climbing up into it there was no going back and off we set!

The drive was full of changing scenery. Loved the Boab trees in all their different shapes and mass numbers, termite mounds and the red earth. Wildlife lined the roads, always cattle but birds, wild horses, snakes, dingo's, pigs and even buffalo! Stunning rock formations, waterways and even many little fires it was a great drive stopping for the caches as we passed... but no crocs (sad face!)

Leaving Broome we had overnight stays in Fitzroy Crossing, Kununarra and Timber Creek, great places but the highlight being the Lazy Lizard in Timber Creek. Passing through Halls Creek, Katherine and even Kakadu among many other little towns and stops along the way added to a great trip. The van was comfortable and a novel way to travel, the caches spread out over big distances a chance to stretch the legs.

Arriving into Darwin and the van returned it was into town for a few must find caches, and to explore the town, a tad warmer than we were used to at 33C!

Many thanks to all the COs of the caches we stopped at along the way and that added to the enjoyment of the trip.

Aquilus1 & I decided at short notice to add another 'crazy' trip to our growing list of adventures. Flying from Canberra to Broome and driving a 'war rig' huge campervan from Broome to Darwin. It could sleep 6! The hire itself cost almost nothing as it was on a 'relocation' deal.

We arrived too late to pick up the bus on our first day....not surprising really as it took 3 flights to get there. The hotel we stayed at in Broome at had a "competition" on the night we arrived and several barmaids in odd clothing.... "Welcome to WA" it would seem.

After picking up the battleship, we proceeded easterly on our adventure. In three days we would see Fitzroy's Crossing, Hall's Creek, Kununurra, Timber Creek, Katherine, Pine Creek, Kakadu & Darwin, as well as a lot of road.

No crocs spotted, but we did see dingo's, water buffalo, horses, lots of birds & cows.

Favourite stop by a mile was in Pine Creek, at the Lazy Lizard. Very cool and also the cheapest!

Thanks to all the CO's for placing.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Didnt even try to get the bus in, so we walked the whole way. Cache found easily

Wow what a beautiful place! Took our rental Suzuki Jimney down here with no trouble but suspect 2WD vehicles could could have issues in a few spots of loose sand and some places where ground clearance could be an issue coupled with a few water ruts. Certainly not caravan friendly as the gap between some of the trees is quite narrow.

This is what caching is all about for us - going to places we wouldn't even know about were there not a cache there.

A nice fresh water stream and nobody else around - what else could you hope for?

Definitely gets FP from us

On the slow trip home from Darwin now, staying in Kakadu for a few days enjoying the warmth and beautiful scenery, doing a few side trips and enjoying the pool at the caravan park.
Today we went for a trip to Nourlangie Rock, Mirrai Lookout, Ferny Gully and back to Cooinda for the Yellow Waters cruise.
What a magnificent place, sadly I didn’t even have time to wet my feet as we’re running god awful late for our cruise, time for the pedal to the metal!

Came along here for the drive with ilook4geo and had the place all to ourselves. A short scramble up the hill and a container was spotted. Aaagh! It was empty, but a closer look into the hide revealed that a replacement container was also there and this held all the various bits and pieces, including the log. Yay! Very happy to find this. The log had two more names added to it and all was replaced and we had a look at this beautiful place.
Thanks for this cache placement go to CHEDENT.

Wow what an awesome spot! The 2WD made it down the track just fine… slow and sensible Wink nice watering spot to cool off after climbing around on the hot rocks. Still plenty of water in the creek even now in the build up. This corner of the world is amazing. Kakadu has really stolen my heart in many ways! Hope I get to come back in the future!

What a beautiful location. The cache was tucked away up high and nicely sealed leaving a dry log. Cache is in good condition.
If I was here earlier, I would’ve gone for a swim, but it was getting towards the end of the day and I didn’t want to drive the track in the dark. And apparently even though there’s some “freshies” there, I was on my own it’s not something I’d be keen to risk if I ventured near one.

Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving around in the Kakadu NP.

On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.

Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.

Thanks to 'CHEDENT' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'J.A.B.S. Kakadu' and for the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.

Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

We traveled through Northern Territory for four weeks. We started the journey in Alice Springs and drove to Uluru, Kata Tjuta and then to Kings Canyon, MacDonnell Ranges, back to Alice Springs, to Devils Marbels, Katherine, Katherine Gorge, Kakadu NP and then further on to Darwin. On the way we found some caches. This was one of them.

Detour around Australia - family of 6 travelling in a camper trailer for 6 months!!
Due to the lack of reception in the outback regions of Australia, we got seriously behind in logging caches. But a new year's resolution is good enough for me to get the trip of lifetime logged! Thankfully I did diligently write in my diary to record each days events!!

We left Darwin to spend a week or so in Kakadu. What a wonderful and cultural experience we had. Despite the heat, we did all the ranger guided walks we could, climbed up to all the vistas and generallly tried it all - even a helicopter flight! The escarpment is just a wonder of the world!

Today we left Kakadu. There was one more cache left to do. It made the GH extremely nervous to pull the camper in here, and try to get down the track with all our bikes on the roof, with no one knowing where we were, not knowing if we could get out of here - but once we arrived at gz we were very pleasantly surprised it was a public area, with plenty of parking, that just isn't marked as a turnoff from the road anymore! What a shame! Fabulous spot and really great for a swim!!! Perfect little hide away before we left this amazing wonderland!

Thanks for the cache - an easy favourite point from us!!

Together with ravestorm on vacation in Australia, unfortunately a DNF here.

We first searched at the bottom, then, reading the description, we climbed to the top. Found nothing there, so we slowly moved lower, searching in many holes - obviously not in the right one. No Internet reception to check gallery or similar. What a pity because the place was so nice that we would have been happier with a smiley on top.

Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! Our journey started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island, before heading to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier, Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. The second leg of our journey was a fabulous 9 days in Tasmania. Having then returned to Melbourne we set off on the third leg of our journey, which was to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. We then spent a few days in Sydney with geocaching friends efore flying on to the Gold Coast for the fourth leg of our travels, that included visits to Lamington National Park, Noosa and an overnight trip out to Fraser Island. We then flew from Brisbane to Cairns, where we spent a couple of nights before heading out to the birding hotspots of Yungaburra and Daintree. Following on from a visit to Cape Tribulation we turned to Port Douglas. After a day out on the Great Barrier Reef we returned to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs and the fifth leg of our travels, which was a wonderful week driving the circuit to and from Ayers Rock in our 4x4 camper. On returning to Alice Springs we then flew on to Darwin, where we picked up another 4x4 camper. We are currently making our way towards Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Emma Gorge, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!

Once again geocaching took us to a wonderful off the beaten track to a place of beauty, with the massive bonus of having the place to all to ourselves - so very nice to briefly be able to get away from the madding crowds! Thanks so much for the cache, which we found quickly enough once we had scrambled our way to Ground Zero. Please have a favourite point!

This was one of our favourites... we didn't have tme or the vehicle to drive to Jim jim falls, so this little offroader was a very nice way to continue our caching, and get to see a bit of kakadu that is not often visited. It's a lovely place, and it was worth the effort of driving there.

A tough climb up hill. Little searching around the hot rocks then cache in hand. Signed log and climbed down what we thought was an easier way, until we got to the bottom and found no way through to the other side to car. So up we went again and down again. Cache easy, navigating the hill tricky. Thanks for the challenge, chedent.

The cache showed us a beautiful place we would never have seen without this one. Had a great time in the river, no other people, perfect attributs (for us:-), a big container ......, just one snake guarding the cache....

So of course we would like to set up a blue flag and say thank you to Chedent for sharing this place with us!

This was another find in Northern Territory while crossing Northern Territory and Western Australia from Darwin to Perth on Gibb River Road through the Kimberlys. During this 8500km journey we've met many nice and friendly people [^], visited countless marvelous places, saw lots of interesting local wildlife (and plants), took some 2500 pictures home and logged some 300 Caches Cool.

This nice hidden treasure we would never have found without this cache Big Grin. The box we found after a rough ride and a short climb up the hill quite fast Big Grin.

Thanks for showing us, we've enjoyed it very much [^].

Great spot to go for a cache hunt & what a hunt it was! Climbed through snake infested long grass and over ankle breaking loose rocks to get to GZ. Despite a long search we couldn't strike this one off. We left disappointed but the rock pool and waterfall was worth the trek.
Will be back in the dry season for another go.
Think carefully before navigating the track in a 2WD. You may be in for a squashed exhaust!
Cheers

Been a long time since last find, Tin has small hole in the bottom, some water has been getting in and log book has been getting wet as the bag has a hole in it. Log book is dry for the moment but needs protection, So if anyone is going to look, please take a new zip lock bag, Smile

An interesting track – we were not sure that anything but a 4WD would make it – but a great spot at the end. We found the cache and then looked over the edge. A beautiful tropical oasis. We did go for a dip in the waterfall, after checking for wildlife. Lots of tiny fish and some big spiders but no crocs. TFTC.

WanderingAus wandered by on day 76 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, having finally moved on from Darwin to spend a few days at Kakadoo. That was our fourth visit to that magical place, and we still found it very enjoyable.

After a quick climb up the hill to find GC1BXHQ Majestic Mirrai by Groboz we headed out of the park as far as Goymarr Tourist Park (formally Mary River Roadhouse), where we had arranged to call in on muff1 who are working as chefs there.

After setting up the caravan and having the obligatory cup of tea Jackie went back to work and Dennis drove us out to find GC3J1NT Kakadu Rockhole By bubblensqueak and this cache.

Dennis hung back to allow me to make a very quick and easy GAFF 0 find, and we then walked down to the amazing rockhole, another great place almost 'reserved' for geocachers.

My Groundspeak find No 2825, LCC, TNLNSL, dropped my WanderingAus Happy New Year 2008 Gold GC, my WanderingAus GeoMobile TB and three other travellers in for a visit before grabbing them back again.

*Recommended* *Overall Experience: 4* *Favorite*

T4TH CHEDENT, a top spot.

True to it's name it's a beautiful spot. We had been there before, and a cache was a good excuse to go back. If that's a regular size cache, what does a large one look like!?

Had fun driving in in the geo4wd (AKA 'Suzy') off to GZ. After seeing so many tourists at all the other places around Kakadu, it was nice to have a place to ourselves.

What a spot. Really hope they don't advertise this spot. Bumped into another Geohuntress, Muff1. Great spot no swimming today a bit cold at 24 deg.

I was wandering around here when I met the previous finders, who would think that you would run into other cachers way out here. What fantastic water holes, I am assured that there are no snap dragons in these water holes so quite safe to swim. SL TFTC

Fantastic spot. Loved the pools and a great spot for a dip if the Freshies stay away.

Had a bit of a look but there were a few muggles around so didn't want to make it obvious. Fabulous water hole, will be back here I think Big Grin

Found with Bluejasper whilst on our way back from a visit to beautiful Gunlom where we had a really nice swim in both the top pools and the plunge pool. The cache container is just about at the end of its life span with water having ingressed and rust has well and truly taken hold. Thanks CHEDENT, TNLN, TFTC.

Absolutly a great and hidden place. One of my first caches in australia. I was very afraid of the nasties while climbing that little hill. Found the box easy and without contact of any animals.

In Germany, this one would be min. an T4-Cache I think. Not because of the hill but because of the 4WD-Track to this beautiful place. Got there with an 4WD-Camper.

Find number 3 for the day, and find number 279 on the twentythird day of our month long trip to Warwick, Lightning Ridge, Boulia, Plenty Highway, Alice Springs, Ayres Rock, Darwin, and home. Found at 1530hrs Qld time.

This is what caching is all about. This place gets the AAA+ ***** Bundy rating. Beautiful place. This would have to be the prettiest place we have visited on our trip. And thats largely because NO ONE was there. The water is crystal clear, and sweet to drink. yes, we had a dip up the top, in the rapids, the water was warm, not breathtakingly chilly like you sometimes get.

Dont worry about the croc sign, it warns of freshwater crocs, not the lethal salties. Freshies wont worry you, unless you deliberately stir them up.

Wonderful place.

Cheers
