This cache has "had its day" - let's archive it and give the area a chance to recover. I may re-hide a replacement sometime in 2012.

03-Dec-11
Very overgrown, had a good search but nothing here? Maybe I'm going blind...

26-Nov-11
Tried to find this one a while back but never found it, turns out it's days were numbered anyway! Thanks pwags!

Last of the three Blairgowrie backbeach caches to find and can now say i've found them all. Had a good time at each one and this one proved to be the most difficult to locate. After a long walk along the tracks I eventually arrived at GZ only to find the way in was going to be rather challenging.
Not one to let some shrubbery block the way I ventured in and started hunting for the cache. Using the clue I looked and looked and found there were quite a few fallen tree trunks about. I was going to 'phone' a friend, but didnt have to as I finally found what I was looking for.
A nice idea for a cache, always like the ones that are a bit different. The log book was a bit too wet to sign today so may need replacing.

Thanks pwags for the cache.

OMG, scraches scraches and more, Judith even hurt her foot.

Found log but it was too wet to be signed.

We found the cache. However the area is extremely overgrown and the log sheet was saturated so we were unable to write in it. Despite our numerous bumps and scrapes on the way in to retrieving it.

03-Oct-11
We found the cache after crawling through some extremely overgrown shrubbery. Great idea though!

21-Aug-11
I don't think we took the approach we should have made with this. After finishing #1 we headed off via the coast and the dunes on a relatively straight-line here. Boy, was that an adventure, especially with a 9 and 7 year old in tow. They were brave enough and kept up well moving up and down the dunes with great delight, leaping off sand cliffs and having a great adventure.... There was no direct path so it was a matter of a hundred double-backs and constantly trying to find our way there without damaging any vegatation.

Eventually we found our way to a solid path and then it was a far easier trip to GZ. Once there we checked the hint and soon found the container, although as others have said the 'bizarre' factor was missing. TFTC

20-Aug-11
2nd for the day. This is turning out to be a great walk! Once again, geo-kids found it easily enough. We signed the log. TFTC

13-Aug-11
3.25pm As previously mentioned...bizarre factor all gone. Quite a nice walk however! TFTC

07-Aug-11
The majority log container was discovered complete with possum bitemarks, however the remainder of the camo was not to be seen..

06-Aug-11
Thanks Pwags for the cache, the well needed exercise (after eating those yummy fish n chips) and to º for the company.. A nice walk was had and lots of discussions about the suitability for a night cache in this wonderful area.. fidnd #1405

only found the container for this cache, no object in site, but still, nice walk out into the bush TFTC

22-Jul-11
Found this cache quite easy but the bizarre object was missing. Altho I am happy to say the log book was not damp as mentioned in past logs. Enjoyed the walk to this one. TFTC

Aaargh!

13-Jun-11
Disappointed, but maybe it's disappeared for good? Flukey-in-laws will go back!

04-Jun-11
Second find of the morning, nearly gave up on this one but the persistence of the youngest geodaughter paid off, log book is very damp so were unable to sign. TFTC

21-May-11
Really difficult cache to find, but that probably only because the 'bizzare' part of the cache has gone missing, i tried to find it in the area but had no luck. Log book was soaking wet and really damaged.

21-May-11
Needs some maintenance plastic bag has got some holes. Couldn't find the actual bizarre but found the log

22-Apr-11
found this one on our holidays Smile

15-Apr-11
Bag and log need to be replace - bag getting holes in it and log starting to disintegrate. Tftc - nice walk.

14-Apr-11
Nice hide. The zip lock bag has some holes and the log is a bit damaged. We're from Virginia, USA. Visiting my Australian family. Tftc. We loved the walk.

After Bizzare 3 we took a sweaty walk to this one Surprised)
The cache was scatterd on the ground and we found only one half of the tube.
Logbook and plastic bag damaged, so I put in a new logbook and restored the cache as good as possible.

Geoson, myself and a family friend made our way here from #3. Great walk through the scrub. Had to make a few decisions about the correct path to take, but we got there in the end.
The cache is not in good condition however. The bizarre item, whatever that may have been was missing and the cache container (same as No 3) was lying on the ground. It appeared to have been chewed or something similar. The log was dry, but extremely brittle from being wet. We did manage to make a mark however.

Thanks pwags - A great walk in an amazing place. I won't add to the "needs maintenance" logs, but it does!

18-Sep-10
Log paper very wet, needs replacing.

15-Sep-10
Easy find great walk

Couldn't write on paper - very soggy - did visit cache tho 4/9/10 great series normanutbean

Geez, we had some fun trying to find a track to this one...we decided to walk from the first in this series....GG and JB battled on enthusiastically, whilst I followed hoping that they'd pathe a track for me....they nearly did. JB eventually found the track, GG found the cache. (what a novel idea these cache containers are). Whilst I get to do the log and put another stat on my records...ha ha...The log was very wet and requires replacement and possibly a sealable glad bag. Great adventure the way we walked....it's all character building. TFTC

Beautiful trio of caches - quirky as well!! If doing all 3, set aside a few hours - they're quite stretched out. TFTC!!

Our 2nd bizzarre cache. Had a spot of trouble finding the track to this one. But none the less enjoyed the challenge. TFTC

Having just completed #3 of the series, and having got very wet in the process, we decided to find this cache before seeking warmth. After a little bit more confusion with the tracks we eventually headed in the correct direction, this time being wet by the damp undergrowth. Arrived at GZ to find a phone call waiting for the team. What a great series of interesting cache containers.

Found by Team Ladava on our weekend in Blairgowrie to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary.
What else would you do but cache?
We had time for two of your bizarre series while we waited for the agreed check in time.
Found after a lovely stroll in the bush.
Indeed bizarre but good fun in a beautiful part of the world. We continued on to the beach for some spectacular panoramic views.
Our thanks to pwags for the cache and bringing us here when others would have simply gone to a coffee shop.
Cheers

Yeah, well if we (Mrs Biggles & I) hadn't found "Bizarre #1" then I would have completely over looked this one - the cache object thingy, that is. Found it as I was trying to navigate through the foliage whilst keeping a keen eye for any snakes. Looked almost as if it had been discarded by a passer-by. Come to think of it, it probably had! A keen sense of direction needed to go from #1 to #2 even with gps. I too found the possible earlier cache. Geopals Dingo Trackers from Denmark with me, mini geodingo tracker got a tad grumpy walking back to car. TFTC

26-Jan-10
Just a note: Coote Close, the street nearby is actually a driveway.
Owner asked for this to be written on this site, as they dont want geocachers going down their driveway.

This would have to be the 2nd bizarrest cache I have ever found
Lost the track a few times coming from No 1 but co-ods had me almost on top of cache

We now have a personal TB to track the km's travelled while caching so just dipping it in to catch up on the km's

21-Jan-10
Well this one was a bit of an epic!!!!
We originally continued on from #1 thinking we would be able to get to it along the sand dunes .......
and whilst we probably could have if we had a better GPS - we have a cheapy black and white one which doesnt have maps or anything!! So anyway we went along the dune track until we came to this huge divide between 2 dunes and went down and straight up again (puff puff) but by this stage I was getting a bit nervous that we would get lost lolol
So we headed back up where we came from to see a jogger come along and head down the dune and back up the other side but along much much closer to the water and then we saw a post and what appeared to be a proper track, however I really was still a bit unsure so we headed back to the first cache and then the car.
We then went and did no 3 and then went to the back beach at Koonya - my goodness that beach is scary - we didnt stay long but long enough for GMelb to be bitten by lots of sandflies!!
Anyway after the beach we decided that seeing we had seen entrances to the side streets from the track on the way to #3 that maybe we could get to #2 the same way.
So we headed down the closest side street and thankfully found the right tracks, winding back and forth to GZ.
OK so we were finally here ........ after about 10 mins hunting GMelb finally found what I now think is part of the original cache as I have just looked back through the logs to see you had replaced it after someone else reported it missing the main part. What he found was the "long cylinder thing" (dont want to give away too much here) with wire hanging out and nothing attached!! Anyway not knowing it had been replaced and thinking it had been partly muggled we signed this log and we were going to report it as partly muggled!
So anyway TFTCaches pwags - it certainly was an adventure!!

Found eventually after thinking we were a bit off the mark, but after coming back for another look, found it! alas didn't have a pen so couldn't sign log though.

Very off the beaten track! Drat forgot our pen!

Took a scenic tour for this cache along the Blairgowrie beach to rejoin the path into the bushland for an easy find. TFTC

22-Dec-09
Easy find, a little wet but still usable.
I really enjoyed the walk and the veiws were stunning

22-Dec-09
691. Bit of a windy walk in to this one gave us a chance to enjoy the birds flora and fauna, log a bit damp as lid was missing. pwags-TFTC

22-Dec-09
Easy find, a little wet but still usable.
Trailertrash79 and I decided to drag along our geo kiddies and see if I can get my first 100 before xmas.
Nice cache in a great location. Onwards to BBBB#3

14-Dec-09
Go get it!

14-Dec-09
Replaced cache today, ready again for some summer caching bizarreness!

02-Sep-09
Definitely time to disable this one until I can replace it in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for the log, timbo45!

02-Sep-09
Aaaah - should have read the logs. I was working off an old printout so spent a fair while getting scratched legs in the scrub for no result.
Nice walk on a perfect day though.

15-Aug-09
Re-did this hunt today as I was introducing a friend to caching... IT'S GONE!!! The "Bizarre" object has been removed completely - I knew exactly where to find it, and it wasn't lying around nearby when I checked, either. Luckily I did find the log container and sheet close by, which was still in tact and dry, so I've popped that back right at GZ where it should be safe. So this cache can still be done, but it's lost it's sense of humour, which is a real shame!

15-Aug-09
Thanks very much to Team Goanna for reporting this one. I'll definitely replace it, so stay tuned. In the meantime, I'll leave it online, as the small logsheet container remains at GZ for those keen for a find. It's about the size of a 35mm film container, so I have amended the size of the cache to a micro temporarily.

26-Jul-09
Luckily, no-one was around here today, so we were able to find and log without muggle interference. The bush smelled magnificent, I think maybe there was some jasmine in there.Loved the bizarre cache container. TFTC.

18-Jul-09
Second of the three presented a challenge working out which road to take. I thought I was trespassing and then ended up in the bush but the path to the cache is not direct, and it's impenetrable scrub so no bush-bashing allowed. Nice cache container. Kept expecting it to ring... Thanks.

12-Jul-09
First caching trip, found with Scratches, this was the funniest cache I've seen so far, loved it

12-Jul-09
Love the whole series - this 'bizarre' container is by far our favourite!

TFTC Smile

11-Jul-09
Found @ 12:30. This was my 3rd attempt at this one. Today I down loaded the GPX file again so I could check past logs if I had touble again. Think I must have had a problem with downloading the co-ordinates to the GPSr last time because this time it was about 30m from the last co-ordinates I had. Now having the right ones, the cache was found straight away.

TNLN, CSI=4, thanks pwags.

It was an enjoyable walk to GZ. After leaving the track I followed the GPS to where it should have been. I looked in a couple of spots, then turned around and there it was, and I just had to laugh when I saw it, and so plainly obvious. And so out of place. Thanks again for a great walk and an enjoyable cache.

21-May-09
Found by Mary & David at 1430. Thomas Thomas, our faithful navigator, directed us to a nearby parking spot. We set off from there along a narrow track, across what appeared to be a driveway, then along another track. This one started off in the right direction but then turned away. We began to doubt where it was taking us, so we went back to see if we'd missed a turn. We hadn't, so turned around again and continued on past where we'd stopped the first time. Sure enough, we soon came to a junction with a new track that took us right to GZ. Another great container and more laughs awaited us; this one was engineer David's favourite. Something of a pity to note that lavender, African daisies and cotoneasters are now established in the natural vegetation. Our thanks again to pwags.

Found with Landsergruppe.
Found a "shortcut" to the cache after ignoring some of the misleading "No Beach Access" signs around here.
There was a clear pedestrian access and then after coming to what looked like a private driveway, found it wasnt. Always a good thing.
Arrived at GZ but no one would answer.
Very nice cache.
Thanks for bringing us here!

14-Apr-09
Found with Jyetara, a little easier on the legs after we found a car park not too far away, wanted to ring my friend with the good news, but couldn't get through.

22-Mar-09
We wandered around in the dunes for a while, trying to access GZ without crushing the vegetation. After while,we found the right track through the pretty bush. A short search yielded the unique hide more by surprise than by looking. VERY cool cache.

TFTC!

P.S.: Ring ring Smile

18-Mar-09
What a fabulous cache! Just loved this one - up there as a favourite so far!
Had a giggle and signed the log (fairly easy find), then waddled on through to have a look at the beach before heading back to the car.
Nice walk with bub in backpack and dog running along with us, too.
TFTC!

24-Feb-09
Second in the series but my third find. I was going to do all 3 in one walk but got hopelessly "bushed" trying to go direct from 1, so I had to retrace my steps and try from a new angle. Finally found. Not as beautiful as 1 & 2 (I now notice the "bush" addition to the name). Thought of ringing for help but in actual fact did not need to! Thanks for the series

15-Feb-09
Found by Bob at 1510

I wasn't sure whether there would be any vehicular access closer than that for #3, so I opted to do the walk to this one on my way back from #3. Luckily, there turned out to be a rather nice track through the "jungle" and it was quite firm under foot (I don't like walking on soft sand) and I really felt I could have been a million miles form civilization. On reaching GZ, the GPSr lead me into the only (slightly) open area near the path and the truly "bizarre" cache container was quickly spotted Smile.

Thanks again pwags - a really good one.

13-Feb-09
I thought that this was easily the best of this little series. TomTom didn't want to take me to an obvious access point but I went there anyway. After a short enough walk the hint reduced possible scrub damage and the very inventive cache was found easily. Very nice piece of work and thanks to pwags for the effort.

03-Feb-09
Found shortly after #1 at 1345.
Nice to get off the dunes for this one! Quite amused when I found it.
Thanks,

Found at 1705 hours, after trying to find number 3, gave up on #3,turned my attention to this one. I was going to go after this one the other day but ran out of time. What a great concept for a cache, it's way up there in the Bizarre.

Found this one on a beautiful sunny morning walk along back beaches - we loved the cache container - really different. Thanks PWAGS Regards Sarian

01-Jan-09
We parked close but it was still a very convoluted walk to GZ. What we wouldn't have given for a machete on the way back.
An interesting item at GZ, we were starting to lay bets on what number three might be.
Thanks, Robmc.

01-Jan-09
Took a rather convoluted track to get here but we found it without resorting to bush bashing. A muggle happened along who was more than a bit curious so we let her in on the secret. Might have a new convert. Strange container but I suppose thats the object of the excercise.
Thanks again

01-Jan-09
2nd pwags find of the day and it was a good thing we did not need to use the "device". This track was certainly very busy today with walkers and future finders should keep an eye out for muggles. Anyway the cache container raised a chuckle with us as well.
Thanks pwags for the cache.

03-Nov-08
Quite a few bees around and lots of joggers! Loved the bizarre item, made me laugh Smile Thanks pwags.

03-Oct-08
We found our 9th Pwags cache at 1:35pm as the 10th of 14 on our Lap of Western Port Bay Day with Cold Freeze, Team Rubik and Acts2YouthGroup. We found an access point so whilst the others checked out if we could get through, I had to find a place to park the car. Once near, I could hear them but it took a bit of looping to find them. It was all over bar the shouting once at GZ so all left to do was see the great cache. Thanks for the cache from D B-A.

03-Oct-08
Another very amusing cache container, perhaps my favourite of the series. We parked as close as we could and found the access to the cache possible albeit with a little back tracking. Acts2 found the cache as he was a little more trusting in his GPSr, smiles all round.

Thanks, fun cache and interesting tracks.

Sixth of nine cache finds for the day, the cache was found in the company of Rabbitto, Rubik and Cold Freeze on our way back from Phillip Island. We found an access track and soon were looping back where we found the cache with no trouble so no help line needed on this one. Thanks pwags for the cache.

13-Sep-08
Found at 6.00pm GAFF1. Once again we tried to take a short cut, but we think it ended up being not the optimal way in - although we found some very interesting houses along our route. When we got to GZ we circled the area and then c-pprass suddenly yelled - "have a look at this"! Most amusing - another well constructed cache that made us look forward to the last one. Thanks pwags.

06-Sep-08
This was a part of Blairgowrie we did not suspect. Our friends TOKASS were more familiar with the area but even they did not anticipate the need to communicate with a higher authority. Fortunately the means was provided and the cache was logged around 5:40pm. The 3 cache loop was closed in 1.5 hours giving an excellent afternoon's ramble. That is what GCing is all about. Thanks pwags.

23-Jul-08
Found 200807231402 Smile. 3rd cache for the day with the reluctant Richie and slightly more enthusiastic James Wink. The boys complained when after finding #1 I announced that we would be walking to the next 2 of this series but on a nice sunny Winter's day the stroll was not too onerous and the cache found without any need to 'phone a friend' though when we got to GZ we considered that optionWink

Find # 2488 and 13th of the day at 1:28pm. Accompanied by Feathertop on the way to the Peninsula to clean up a few caches and try out the new eastlink on the return trip.
Another nice walk to GZ and loved the container. TNLN, Signed Log, Thanx Pwags....Big Grin

Third for the day and a much easier walk than we had between 1 & 2. Another easy find and the best container of the group.

A great group of caches and a great area we'd not visited before but I reckon we'll be back pretty soon.

Thanks for all the caches.
