I checked on this one today and it has indeed gone. This is about the third time so it is time to put this one to sleep. It lasted nearly four years.
Did not find this one. I am afraid it may have been muggled. I checked both sides of the fence but it was not there. Anyway, thanks for the cache. Hope I just may have missed. cheers.
Loathe to post a DNF, but read the clues and tried to find, but to no avail. Having read previous logs, maybe on the wrong side.
Will try again another day, and maybe bring reinforcements.

Doing the second pass of our Eastlink walk with the Essendon Bushwalking Club, Part one.
Took a few minutes more than expected, but soon had the cache in hand.
Had to stay with the herd, so it had to be quick.

Had trouble getting the GPSr to reveal gz so resorted to the hint which helped immeasurably. Felt very conspicuous at gz but you get the feeling no one sees you. SL, TNLN. TFTC.
Second time round for this one, after getting a clue from a friend. Turns out I was looking in the right spot, just not in the right place! Much easier to access after the tip - thanks Ali!
Second attempt to get this one and found it after a quick bit of advice on how to access it. TFTC
After a bit of scratching around and hiding from passing muggles, we soon found the cache, leaving a camera flash globe.
Found on an afternoon caching run with HosCal. A nice easy find on a great walk. Thanks for the cache Alansee
Tftc. Very dangerous night run when taking stairs literary! Much safer during the day when a)can see all access and B) when our brains aren't trying to read too much into the clues
After a night out with mates I wizzed by here and after a u-turn or two I was back and parking my Geo Go Go Mobile to make the short walk into GZ for a not soo quick find.. I don't like putting my hands where I cant see them. I hate spiders etc.. however with the smart phone/camera I made reasonably quick work of this one.. as far as night time finds go.. Thanks Alansee for the hide.. Find #2215
Read the previous logs and decided to divide and conquer - geo son 1 side of the fence and me on the other - geo son won! TFTC

In the area to pay a birthday visit to family members. What a perfect opportunity for a bit of a caching treat.
We have driven on the other side of these barriers countless numbers of times. It is certainly a different feeling on two wheels on the outside!
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt Alansee.

Hmmmm. Reading previous logs - which side of the fence? We chose the correct approach and found the cache with no dramas.
2nd for the day had looked for thus early in in my caching career and thought it to hard but On closer inspection find it Thanks for the tip baluke.
Not sure what we were looking for last year when we went away empty handed, but this seemed remarkably easy in hindsight. TFTC, TNLN

Find # 1461
After a DNF on this cache in October 2010, I am finally in the area with some time to spare. It is going to be a very hot day today, so I dont want to be out in the sun too long today. I was unable to see or access the cache from the first spot I tried, but I was determined to find this one today. Eventually arrived in the right spot for GZ and made a quick find.
This was my 20th GEGP cache, another five to go.
Thanks to Alansee for the cache. TNLN.

After consuming our dinner, on this wonderfully warm Melbourne evening, we decided to go out for a long night walk. Walking along the bicycle path, our first stop was the Kinder Hill cache. From there it was only a short walk to this cache. Crossing over such a large intersection was the first challenge we faced. After eventually making it over the road we found ourselves in the GZ. We looked around for a while before realising we were on the wrong side of the fence. We used the other approach and BINGO we made the find!
This has been our second find as part of the series Great Eastlink Geocache Project. Thank you Alansee for all the effort that you put into this cache and for maintaining it.

Found @ 8:58pm, find # 1214.
Out on a bit of a night caching run,
stopped off at this one for a look around and made a quick find.
I have found all the second half of the GEGP series so it was about time I found some at this end of the series.
Made my way to GZ and made a quick find.

Fence in the way from what the clue says, went up around the path and came in from the top for easy access, found the cache with a little bit of perusing
8/12/2011 22:27 As I was not to far away tonight I thought it was time I did this one. I read up the logs (including the controversial ones ) but was most concerned about the DNF. Walked to GZ and had a look about. "Ahh, (I said to myself) its over there, and there's the fence". Shone the torch about to get an idea of the layout and simply walked around and approached from the other side and as Covert mentioned. It was readily available with only a moments searching required. TFTC Alansee TNLN SL

I was supposed to be home half an hour ago but I've phoned to say I'll go straight to pick up the kids so now I have a spare 15 mins. I find my way to gz, follow the path and quickly have the cache signed. I've got to wait for a few muggle cyclists to pass before I can emerge but I'm off and back for pickup with minutes to spare. Thanks Alansee for the cache.
A good one to start my short afternoon caching ride. I like this as it is, slightly tricky as per usual Alansee. If it is too quick you don't feel as happy when you finally find it. Liked the camo too. Thanks AC.
Has anybody done every cache on this trail in one go? Specifically by bike. If they have, how long has it taken you? I am thinking of doing it from the southern most one riding all the way up to this one. Are all caches accessible from the path?
Cheers

Parked nearby, had to take a steep path (well worn) down to the path and through the tunnel to get to GZ, after that it was clear where to go, although a little rough from water damage. Took a minute to locate the cache as was some neat hiding places here - TFTC
I liked the nearby pond/retardation basin - it's exactly what I was after for one of my remaining few Leapfrog geocaches - stay tuned, only a few days to go!

In keeping with my principle of doing things the hard way I came up on the wrong side of the fence! Fast find after that. TFTC SL
It is clear from Ollave's log that the cache, although having possibly suffered from some vertical cache creep (which future finders should feel free to alter) is in the correct position.
I also totally disagree with their views on the location, for several reasons. Otherwise I would not have put it where it is, let alone left it there for several years.
Hopefully Ollave did not experience any pain putting it back in its proper spot!

Hi -- would the cache owner please check if this cache is in its original/correct location, and if it is, consider adjusting the coordinates so that a wider range of physiques can follow the clue successfully, without pain and bruising?
Right now, looking at the logs, many cachers are approaching this cache from the "wrong" side, and while I'm not an expert by any means on what legislation VicRoads has pushed through parliament (or what parliament has thought up on its own) I'll bet the intended approach is the only fully legal, not-subject-to-official-harassment one.
We both want and really need Geocaching to be seen to be law abiding; it would be unfortunate if we get forced into the position of defending our game (or sport, or whatever it is!) the way photographers are required to defend their rights worldwide.
P.S. Yeah, I realise that a maintenance request is a PITA, and that you've been undertaking maintenance in response to what people log. But this cache in its present position seems to have a real problem.
A minor change in both the clue and location could keep the "feel" of the cache but let people find it even after it's drifted, and know where to replace it to correct the drift. Downside: increased chance of muggle discovery, but the area is pretty clear (compared to most urban caches) of the empty beer bottles etc that are frequently present ... can't promise it will stay that way, but so far so good.

This was my second visit to this one, and I still had to resort to phoning a friend, who fortunately managed enough of a clue that I f found the cache.
The position disturbs me a bit: access from the direction the clue suggests is only barely possible and with pain. This is why it took me two attempts; from the other approach the clue makes no sense but the cache is readily visible.
Has the cache drifted (again?) or is its position merely very difficult for some cachers? For what its worth I'm six feet tall, but that's not unusual these days.

Found today on my 7 hour bike caching run along the Koonung Creek Trail. CamBendy has been gracious enough to lend me his pushbike for me to go caching. I must admit, after many years of not riding a bike and not exercising, my fitness level has gone terribly low..It did surprise me because I often cached by walking. And I did not realise that Melbourne suburbs had so many hills! It was really a pain going up those slopes and more often than not, I was pushing the bike instead of cycling up (I was that weak). Came to a point when I almost felt faint cycling. Thankfully, I managed to stop and find a place to have dinner and rest before I rode home on the train at Nundawanding station. Anyway, 13 finds today with 1 DNF.
This was one of my finds today. Second last find of the day. Like covert, I couldn't find the cache following the clue but found it using a different way. TFTC Alansee

We had a wonderful later Afternoon springtime, where we caught up and as a trio all three members of StaceV went Caching together. Worked thru some 'where is that' locations. This one had been on our 'gotta do' list for ages.
Thank you Alan, we didn't even know there was a (sophisticated) pathway along here! StaceV

Came past here on my daily ride. Had some time so did a few cached along the way. Grabbed TB TB2R5PQ (Huddy's Travelin' Buddy #1). I've got a mate from Britain staying with me this weekend, so I might be able to persuade him to sneak it into a cache far, far away.
10:45. No. 1 for the day. Out with CamBendy and a tribe of geokids. It's safe to say that this was not where its owner planned it to be but after Cam scrambled under a fence then climbed on top the cache was retrieved. Getting down was an event that left a 10cm gash in his hand. We replaced the cache where we think it was supposed to be. Asked Cam if he wanted to visit the pharmacy down the road ... "Lets get the next one first." Cachers are tough. TFTC.

Find #1 of 6 today @ 1045am
To say that this cache was probably not in it's original position is an understatement.
Didn't have to do as the hint said, so much as we had to trespass to retrieve.
Not bloody fun, as long cut on hand testifies.
Replaced in more appropriate position as per hint. Consequently have confirmed with Alansee that this is now indeed in its correct location.
Thanks for the fun Alan!

I can’t believe how many parties the kids go too, but it gives me a couple of hours for a quick cache run in the nearby suburbs while they play with their friends. What joy! Today was no different and I picked up 10 caches in a couple of hours, which I thought was pretty good going for a wet Saturday afternoon. I concentrated on the Mitcham and Ringwood areas and this cache was one of them. Thanks to Alansee for placing this cache. I really enjoyed the area and it is a really ideal location for a cache. It took a little longer than I hoped to grab it but nicely done. SL TFTC.
After attending the Chase the Cache at Docklands and the 9999 + 1 event, walenators took me on a caching run.
Arriving at GZ, we left mrs walenators and their daughter in the car for this one last cache before heading home. We approached GZ from one side of the fence and had a search. Found nothing. Went back and had a go from the other side. Still nothing. I turned around twice and suddenly walenators was over the other side of the fence again, not really sure how he got there so fast. Anyway, it was good that he did as he had the cache in hand shortly after that, in an area I had half looked through already. We signed the log as the rains started to fall heavily
Thanks for the cache Alansee

Our last cache for the day on our way home from the BBBS Chase the cache event and this cache owners 10000 find event, two big event in a day. On arrival at the Gz we fumbled about quite a bit in the dark and under torch light, but we eventually foubnd the cache. I think we were thinking too hard for the find on this cache and got ourselves cobfused. Thanks for the Hide Alansee. TFTH...SL...TNLN
After bobbing up somewhere else, the cache was found in an interesting little spot which appears very safe. Thanks Alansee for the cache.
Out on a caching run with lochb.
The third cache we walked to without driving the car.
What a HUUUGGE road to cross!
Lucky for us we only had to cross one side and use the tunnel to get near.

Found at 5.55pm on our way home from an afternoon of dancing. Decided to stop and get rid of some of those annoying Tom Tom beeps as you travel the freeway. After finding an appropriate parking spot walked towards GZ - after a little thought found it and SL - it was only when we were walking back to the car that we realised there would have been an easier way to access the cache if we had looked at our GPS's earlier when approaching GZ - oh well still found - TFTC Alansee

Tried this one for the first time on a route via 2 other caches, parked about 400m away and walked. when I arrived at GZ, the sole of my left shoe came un-stuck and I found myself walking back to the car with a hobble. Thankfully the motorists were oblivious as we hunted madly for this one. There were a couple of more obvious places that we tried before clambering to investigate other areas. The cache was then quickly in hand.

FINALLY - WE FOUND IT!!!
Although we did have help. (Thanks to caughtatwork).
This had become our nemesis cache. We would drive past & wonder what had we missed? Why was it so hard?
So after several unsuccessful hunts, we asked caughtatwork to give us a hand after the end of a long, wet caching day together.
We headed to GZ & caughtatwork pointed out the locale, but I still couldn't find it. So he tried... no cache. Not where he had previously found it anyway.
So we hunted around & found it almost in plain sight, with a single rock on top. Needless to say it did not provide much in the way of camo! And this was a place we had extensively canvassed before! [:(!] Not something we would ever have missed!
After reading the logs, it appears this cache has had quite a bit of cache creep. So we placed it back where caughtatwork originally found it, as this matches the hint & it's actually hidden from muggles. [^]
Thanks Alansee for providing a great caching challenge.
