I spent a fair bit of time searching but to no avail - I decided to refer to the recent logs only to find 3 DNF's ...... perhaps the CO could perform a status check on the cache.

Cheers

I have been eyeing off this series for quite a while now, but it was only a short time ago that I had the idea of doing all along the trail in one go, by bike. The weather looked good today, so we put the bikes on the car and started at #24 and collected 18 for the day, meaning we didn't end up making it to #1. I am sure we will pick up from where we left off eventually......... but I was quite pleased with the total. We ended up riding for 32.5km which was quite a lot considering the total. Oh well, it was very enjoyable Big Grin

I think this one is definitely gone Surprised Please check ASAP Echo and Spice!

We looked around GZ for quite a time and the clue suggested it would be on a flat ledge that was just perfect for a cache! I wonder it this one has gone missing?

11.17AM

Today, I set myself a challenge to find as many caches as possible without driving my car (Except the drive from home to here!). By the end of the time available to me, I had found that number was indeed 14 as well as reducing my caching impact on the enviroment. Cool

I had seen this type of hide previously but I really liked the spot, I sat there for 5 minutes while at least half a dozen cyclists rode past me completely unaware I was watching them while logging my find. I have seen many types of Systema container, but this one was a first.

Thanks to Echo & Spice for the cache, Another GEGP crossed off the list. TNLN.

Found it with Wild and Uno this afternoon. Parked the car and did the walk back to GZ with Uno holding the GPS and counting down the metres to go. Wild and Uno found easily and the first thing they said was if the Logs had said anything about ants. Only saw one muggle ride by during the 15 or so minutes we were there. Uno took the $5 note keyring and Wild took the small pencil top rubber. Left a small doll and a panda stamp.
Swapped TBs. Kids were impressed by size of cache, the climb and the location of spot.

While GeoMum did the Christmas shopping, the GeoKids and I headed out on Saturday morning to see what we could find.

Pushie under a Greenie was our first introduction to the Great Eastlink Geocache Project. What a great idea! I had no idea how good the bike track along Eastlink was.

The rock climb was an added bonus... the kids were all over it.

Cache In Trash Out works well here. The area looks a lot better for it.

Echo and Spice, thanks for the cache!

Driving through, figured I might as well stop for one last cache for the day. Parked at Ordish Rd, and walked up. I perched on the rocks to fill in the log. I grabbed the Spirit of the Endless Knot GC, no other swaps.
Thanks for the cache Echo & Spice,
best wishes,
Wal

08-Nov-09
Parked up off the side of the road, and walked the rest of the way in. EB Nano & EB Max climbed up the structure to no avail. EB Chief, leapt, jumped and a little bit more and soon had the cache. Said hello to Speeding Skull TB which we dropped off in other cache on Halloween, took Walk a Mile TB and left Endless Knot Geocoin. Had to wait while first a group of cyggles (cycling muggles) and then an ambulatory muggle took in the view and passed us by. A quick movement by EB Max and the cache was returned to its hide awaiting future cachers. Thankyou for the cache.

08-Nov-09
EB Chief found it before we did so he got to claim the geocoin. I got to put it back. I think I'm better at climbing than him or maybe I'm just better at getting down. TFTC.

Where on earth do you park to get to this cache? We were probably a little bit naughty and two stayed in the car while GabGab and I checked for the cache.
A nice esy find too, especially as we checked the clue in order to be n and out before we were spotted.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks Echo & Spice for this caching experience. It was a nice sized cache too which made GabGab happy even though we didn't swap anything.

Found by Mary & David at 1150. Parked as suggested. A short brisk walk to GZ for a quick find. No pushies in sight today - they're probably all at home getting into the chocolate. Our thanks to Echo & Spice.

Stream Of Cacheousness #44
This was a stream of caching that was to take me along a ribbon of freeway from Williamstown to Frankston.

Parked nearby and spent quite a while trying to figure out this simple cache. People seemed very keen to beep me too...but no-one stopped.

08-Feb-09
After the 46 degree heat kept us inside yesterday, the cooler weather today inspired me to get out and attack the southern end of the GEGP group.
I found this one at 1:10pm, observed by some ducks on the slightly nasty smelling pond below. Haven't come across one of these long sistema boxes before.

As I was here nice and early in the morning I decided I would chance a creative car park. A quick sprint to the cache, sign, and sprint back again and got back on the road before I was asked any questions. Not a single car passed during that time, what are the odds?

A nice spot for a cache, a bike would be a much better way to see it.

Thanks,

R - B

The great Eastlink ride continues and the legs were getting tired by here - and we weren't to the turn around point yet! Cache in hand at 1:35pm

30-Nov-08
This was the second cache after lunch with Alsume and friends. The old sandwich still hadn't settled before reaching for this one. This was where we found that EuDes might have had a puncture which did not seem to slow him down and we headed on south. However not before we picked up a purple cat kiwi type of TB. Thanks E&S

29-Nov-08
Today I escaped weekend duties and rode my bike 42km from Wantirna to Carum along the Eastlink path and Dandenong Creek trail. This was cache 5 - starting to get pretty tired now!

Climbed up to the cache to sign the log etc, and then down again only to find I'd left it visible, so up again I went and then found the easy way down. The grader operator on the other side of the creek probably thought I was mad, but somehow I don't think he was a muggle risk.

Left a GCA swaggie and a TB.

Thank Echo & Spice - interesting spot.

Found at 2015. Having spent the best part of the day along the Eastlink trail, it was nice to arrive at this one at night. No muggles around meant that I could pretty much crawl all over this structure until I had found. Fortunately for me it was in the first place I looked.

Thanks E & S.

On the way home after visiting family in the SE, I figured I could grab a couple of quick caches too Wink. This one looked like it would be pretty easy, but I didn't fancy a longish walk in the cold wind from the nearest legit parking spot, so I ended up parking on the footpath and doing a quick run to GZ. A quick scramble toward a likely looking spot and I'd soon signed the log and was running back to the car Smile.

TNLN

Thanks Echo & Spice - I think this one's pretty safe from muggles Wink.
