24-Nov-24
Many years ago I calculated WP1. A couple of years ago I collected the information to work out GZ. Today I drove to within 100 metres and took the walk around to GZ. Once there I soon uncovered the hide. But, the logbook was a sodden mess. With permission, I dried out the container and replaced the logbook. TFTC.

We couldn't find it. Will have to come back another day.

DNF for this one, We lcould not get sny where near the walk or GZ as the road there was under water about 1.2 K from GZ, It might need some TLC, if it ever stops raining. . Marcus Vitruvius.
Attempted to find this at 9:02AM on this Friday the 11th of November in the year 2022

This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 10996.

This one was solved many moons ago and I had to apply some correction but when arriving at GZ I found an empty container. This had been planned for and with the CO on FaceTime I replaced it with a new container and moved one. Nice puzzle and theme. I. Early got bogged on the way out, it’s a bit wet in here at the moment.

Thanks Marcus Vitruvius for the cache.

Armed with a set of corrected co-ords following the recent maintenance, we wandered off to GZ, but after a good 45 mins of searching on and around the structure indicated by the hint, no luck….awaiting a response for assistance from the CO and a confirmation of cache placement from a previous finder

Cache is ready to go again.

22-Jan-22
Stopped by today to take a look at this one, and both WP's 1 and 2 have been removed or altered in a way that makes them no longer viable. The cache listing has now been updated with the adjustments required to the solved puzzle to find GZ.

### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###

----------

Hi there Marcus Vitruvius,

It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is an issue with the placement. The cache has been temporarily disabled, so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location until the issues/s with this cache can be addressed.

**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days, so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.**

#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-

- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache and repair and/or replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache.**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) Then sit back and wait for the logs of praise to roll in.

- **Place A Write Note Log::-** Reviewers don't have a crystal ball, so without your note on the cache page explaining that the site works are on-going, or you have been in hospital, or the area is in flood, they can't tell what is going on with the cache.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and when a Reviewer next looks at the listing, all will be fine for a little bit longer.
**Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks, so as to keep everyone up to speed.**

- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it,**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56) so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.

You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when a Reviewer next looks at the cache page, it is likely that they will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) on the basis that it has been abandoned.

Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

**JUST A TIP:-** Have you checked out the new Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own? Have a read about it [**HERE.**](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2020/07/welcome-to-the-cache-owner-dashboard/?newsletter=PM) You will find your very own dash board [**HERE**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/owner?utm_source=geocaching&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=COD)

Thanks for your cooperation,

Bunjil

This geocacher reported that there is a problem with this cache.

A clever puzzle, enjoyed making the solve, but upon arrival at WP1, nothing could be found to gather the information required, contacted a previous finder who later visited WP1 and confirmed the structure containing the information is missing, also previous logs have confirmed WP2 is missing, so no hope of making it to GZ ... hopefully some maintenance can be performed to restore the cache to it's former glory, because from all reports it's a good one !!!

02-Jul-19
Well, this one was quite an adventure. I began working on the puzzle yesterday and i felt i was in the right track but unfortunately couldn't get anywhere, I took a break and retrued the puzzle with a slightly different idea and I soon made the breakthrough. A plan was hatched to go for it this morning. I grabbed the bike and awhile later I arrived at WP1

I spent a LONG time at WP1 without anything turning up, I contacted a previous finder and I soon found the information required. But i did not know what to make of it, so I took some photos and decided to pick up another cache that I had solved nearby, after I collected the other cache, I suddenly realised what to do, WP2 was calculated and I was on my way.

At WP2, I looked around for a bit and nothing. I read a few logs and saw that WP2 is missing, I messaged a previous finder who confirmed this. What now?

At this point I recieved another message that pointed me towards GZ, a short search later the cache was in hand.

This was a brilliant cache and well worth the effort, a definite favourite. I would love to see WP2 get fixed so that others can enjoy this one just as I did.

I have looked at this puzzle for sometime and got nowhere.. I messaged Co for hint which I got but the hint was wrong . It was only that a previous finder provided the correct hint that got me going.. searched at the first waypoint and finally found the numbers needed.. a quick calculation and we were off to the next waypoint.. We have been to this area twice to obtain the information but to no avail, today I met a previous finder who confirmed the information is missing. It was only that their youngest remembered where gz was that the cache was signed and returned as found.
We loved the thought gone into this puzzle hopefully wp2 can be replaced

Like the-stephenson5 I have been looking at this one for a long while. Have picked up many times, and had no idea where to start. Once I got a subtle nudge eventually got a good figure for WP1 (though even that took a while - needed to reverse the way I was looking at things). Headed down on Friday morning to WP1 and after waiting for a morning dog walker, inspected the structure present and eventually found the required information - this is very clever. Headed towards WP2 (though parked in the run spot and so had to walk cross country through long wet grass) and got to a similar structure and started looking. Ran out of time - have to work sometime so headed off thinking about potential hides.
Contacted a couple of previous finders and while they couldn't remember the specific location of the details of WP2 they both said that it was much easier than sneaky WP1. Headed back on Saturday morning and spent a good 15 minutes looking around the structure - including both ends and under. There appear to a number of components missing and I am assuming that the information required was located on one of these. Sent some photos to CO with question about possible hide. After no response I headed back in the afternoon after contacting a previous finder. Had another look but then wandered down to the GZ and searched amongst the rubbish (including what I thought was the busted container) and eventually found the cache. Signed the log (got the date wrong though) and headed back.
So wanted to like this cache - the original puzzle is a challenge, WP1 is brilliantly clever, but the missing WP2 and the messy GZ mean I am glad I have found, but this an area I wouldn't want to explore at night. Did hear 3 threatened birds (Brown Treecreeper, Scarlet Robin and Dusky Woodswallow) while hunting at WP2 so that was a bonus.

Final found, solved the numbers for WP1 a few years ago but had no luck at finding the numbers for WP2. Today after a nudge in the right direction by the “wackyweedos” WP2 numbers retrieved, at WP2 the GZ numbers were quickly put into the GPSr, and a short walk to GZ and the prize was located. TFTC, gets a favourite for the puzzle, and great location for GZ.

Woo hoo. This puzzle has taken forever to solve!! Have lost count of how many times I've attempted it over the years. Hubby had the numbers for WP1 in 20mins the other night!! Today we were able to continue the adventure through each waypoint to gz where our youngest found the container lying on the ground. Nearly 2 1/2 years unloved. Pleased to finally sign the log. Log dry in snaplock bag. Container full of water. Emptied it out & dried it out. Needs new snaplock bag as couldn't get it to reseal properly. Pretty good nick considering how long it's been out in the elements. Rehid according to hint for the next finder. Thanks Haveanez for confirming what we were thinking . Fav for the effort yet simplicity of this one. Tftc

This cache has been on our to do list for a long time. Hours where spent poring over the cache page, eventually the puzzle was solved and the evince had us singing in the right location.

The first waypoint almost had us beeched as the Grand Carnival doesn't have very good clearance! Mr Lost Wanderer and one of the junior lost wanders spent some time hunting for the clue, all care was taken to ensure that legless lizards where nowhere about due to the extreme heat of the day.

Off to WP2, Mrs Lost Wanderer wanted the opportunity to look for this one. Ten minutes later Mr Lost Wanderer was requested to come up with the goods. A 2 minute look and then 5 minute rest back at the car had the final coordinates worked out. The chariots where loaded with children, drinks where consumed and off to the final wp.

The children and Mrs Lost Wanderer where abandoned on a track due to the GPSr informing it was time to leave. The chariots where in no shape to head cross country so Mr Lost Wanderer carefully headed off with one eye on the GPSr and one eye on the ground to ensure that no wildlife was disturbed. The cache was retrieved from it's hidey hole and signed. I was grateful for locating the cache after all this time.

TFTC MV a favourite point from us.

As per the disabled log...the area at GZ has been fenced off, so as soon as that has been removed, the cache will be enabled. I will endeavor to respond within the 28 day period to maintain the cache listing.

It seems the area around GZ has become fence off for a while, so I'm taking it offline until the area has been fixed up.

Found with gonefishen07 and some others while at the event. Thanks to the CO for helping with this. TFTC

As the owner knows Team Crackers and I had a DNF of this one last year when it went missing so it was good to get it today, thanks in no small measure to the CO himself!

A clever puzzle which I thought was pitched at a good level - do-able by those of us not as into tricky puzzles as others!

Found with Zobo04 The coffee's and a few other while in the presence of the CO thanks for giving us the opportunity to sign the log Warren. TFTC

Here for the CITO event we were keen to try this one before heading back home. We had had a great time visiting all the waypoint with Alansee on a previous visit but unfortunately at gz we had come up empty handed. A phone call to the cache owner had confirmed that we were in the right area but obviously the cache had gone missing so it was good to be able to get our name into the log today.
Thanks Marcus for a very enjoyable puzzle/multi that we were actually able to work out without too much help.
A favourite from us, we enjoyed the theme.

We're still up here for a few days after the MEGA and so this morning J&M had another lazy morning whilst GMelb went out to grab a few caches. He had solved the first puzzle at home and so arrived at the WP and realised he was going to need some info so he rang us back at the holiday house as he doesnt have a smart phone. He described the info and we were able to give him the numbers. He really enjoyed the walk early in the morning with no-one in sight. Cache was easily found TNLNSL Second signature in new log.
TFTC Marcus Vitruvius, a great puzzle and walk. We will add a favourite point when we have one (we owe about 6 at the moment!!!) lol

Found at 5.05pm GAFF5 in the company of Blackie_71. A group of us from Port Macquarie had a lovely afternoon while camping at Diamond Head working on this puzzle. One of the few puzzles that we could do! We enjoyed the places where this one took us and actually found a great fishing spot for one of the guys camping near us at the mega.
Thanks Marcus Vitruvius.

New cache and new final location. Enjoy!

WP1 worked out from the cache page. Just need to get down to Albury to figure out the rest of the cache!!
Thanks MV, I enjoyed this part, anyway.

The cache has gone walkabout...so will replace cache at WP2 in a couple of weeks.

10-Feb-12
We had solved this one a while back but not without a few long nights before the penny dropped and we had a set of co ordinates. This is our first opportunity to visit here since and after meeting Alansee for lunch we both proceeded to WP1. Here we found a set of co ordinates which would have stopped us there and then but Alansee had remembered a vital piece of equipment needed. A few minutes later we had the second set of coordinates and were off to WP2. The area was living up the traditional owners name as we were doing a lot of chatting as we traveled. It is good to see the area is now being looked after a bit better but unfortunately a lot of the past damage is unrepeatable. WP2 was a nice quick find and we were off to GZ where once parked we were soon heading off to a likely looking location but unfortunately found nothing. We expanded our search and still came up empty handed. Alansee rung the owner and it looks like we were looking in the right place so it does not look good for the container. Marcus Vitruvius kindly offered us a find as we were at the right location but both teams would rather wait and actually sign the log before claiming it.
Many thanks Marcus this was a great puzzle cache, which was solvable by us normal humans, and with excellent Way point clues, we look forward to hopefully finishing it in the future.

Finally sorted out the puzzle and then teamed up with Team Crackers to do this one. No problems with the clever wps until, as the CO knows, The cache was gone! Surprised Now we know where to go when it is back up.! I didn't realise until just now how long it has been since a find for this one.

This is find number 1000 for WazzaAndWenches.

After a few days of holidays with the Wench and the Wenchette I think I have earned a break away on my own.

Fantastic. Find number 1000 and about time too.

It's taken a long time to get to the first kilocache find but it's been a great journey. We've enjoyed every minute of it and look forward to many, many more years and many thousands of find.

The cache...This has been a pain in my backside for quite some time. I solved the puzzle many months ago but then struck a problem. My previous log tell a sad story about being thwarted at GZ by a combination of hot weather, thongs and long grass. It also tells of some less than desirable attention we received.

Well, this time it was a bit better. I did have the attention problems with three separate vehicles with single male drivers slowing down and looking carefully in my direction. The other issue was access....Plenty of water between a suitable parking area and my calculated GZ. As the cache was found just recently I suspected I had the wrong info for GZ and decided to ring one of the previous finders. He was able to confirm I had the right info so it was on with the boots and off through the mud I went.

Cache was found and I can confirm ammo cans are waterproof. The cache was floating in around 40cm of water but the log book was totally dry.

Finally I was able to mark this one off my list and also able to write in 'find number 1000'.

Also left a GC we picked up in South Aust last week and also a new GC I have released just for this find.

Thanks MV for the great cache and for the adventure of finding it.

A combined find, geodad solved puzzle, son found waypoints & GZ and mum held gps. Dad also enjoyed 4wd to sites. Thanks for the location and cache, MV. We are in area after athletics carnival nearby. It was an interesting puzzle thought there may be two ways of interpreting this but on closer inspection one seemed to work better than the other. But even then it appeared to be about 16 ways to use this interpretation. 4 didn't seem to work so well, leaving 12. Decided to use a spreadsheet to assist with all the possible combinations & after a while the answer popped out. But on solving, I realized that a bit of counting may have made things a bit easier - but there was a danger of going dotty. Thanks for a great cache & a good chance to take the geoprado for a gentle workout.

Second find for the day on the way to Melbourne after dropping my daughter off at boarding school at Walla Walla. Had the puzzle solved for a little while now, and decided i had a little bit of time today, so i decided to get this off the list.

Arrived at the first WP and found the information i needed to proceed to the next, but i was approached by a male, who appeared out of nowhere.... I have read the logs on this one and heard some other peoples experiences, so i was ready. I had a bit of an advantage because of my employment, and soon had the bloke sorted and on his way.... hehehehe.

Eventually made my way to the final waypoint, and found some people fishing about 50m away, but they caused no problem. A bit of digging and scratching was needed to locate the hide, due to recent floods in the are, and a phone call to the owner, but it was all sorted in the end. Thanks MV for a bit of an adventure.

I'm not sure why but I seem to attract some undesirable attention (see my log for GC1PVEP ).

This time around things were less threatening than the last but unnerving nonetheless.

The search for this cache started back in April 2009. At that time I was working in Wodonga for a few weeks and spent my spare time finding a few of the great caches around the area. This cache caused me a few headaches (I'm not a fan of puzzle cachesSad) and I consulted another local cacher. Between us we solved the puzzle but only managed to gather some of the info at WP1 due to time constraints.

Passing through the area again today gave me the opportunity to continue the search although I didn't have any of my previous info with me.

I managed to find WP1 straight away but then the unease started...

Arriving at WP1 we noticed a number of vehicles parked around the general area. Nothing unusual except that WP1 is in a remote area on the outskirts of Albury and it was almost 42 degrees and a bit after 1pm. Even more unusual was the fact that each car had just one occupant; a male.

While I gathered the required info at WP1 a man walked closely past the Wenches sitting back in the airconditioned car. They felt a bit uncomfortable with that.

As we left WP1 and headed to WP2 a vehicle followed us. One bloke dressed in a white business shirt and wearing a necktie. We stopped along the way and he passed us and kept going.

While gathering the info at WP2 he showed up again and parked a few meters away but stayed in his car. A second vehicle drove passed us at very slow speed with the driver staring openly at us.

Upon leaving WP2 we took the bumpy track and managed to lose both vehicles as they used a much smoother path.

Unfortunately we drove straight past the turnoff for WP3 and ended up driving quite some distance before we were safely able to turn around. Lo and behold, car 1 drove past us then turned and followed us yet again.

Yet again we took the bumpy track and this time we lost him for good.Big Grin

The dramas were not over though... The gps pointed to the cache being "just over there" but "over there" was the other side of a very swampy area filled with stagnant water and lots of long grass. I was wearing sandals and, despite being very keen to find this one I had to walk away and leave it for another visit when there is less chance of encountering an unpleasant reptile or two.

I can only hope this cache remains active for a lot longer because I doubt I'll be over Albury way for a long, long time.

Thanks MV for the "entertainment" and for the challenge of solving the puzzle.

This puzzle had been staring us in the face for quite sometime now, and having known what we had to do to solve it, it was a matter of actually doing so. So one sunny afternoon a week or so ago, Mrs H was laying out in the sun, and it all started to unfold nicely! Yay! Big Grin
So, a quick trip to WP1 with the GeoKids had us in mud nearlly knee deep - and being paranoid about snakes, it had to abandon till we had the 4WD - not to mention the muggles aswell! Red Face

Big Ez, Mrs H, Foss & GeoJo (& GeoKids) headed off on this sunny day to finish it off, and had a great time doing so - this was a great little adventure in a place we sometimes visit in the summer for a swim in the river, or to launch the boat!
The nicely hidden WP1 was spotted with the keen eyes of Big Ez, and Mrs H had the next WP worked out pretty quickly & off we went, a thorough search of the area & we had the tricky hide in sight, not to mention uncovering a few other 'treasures' along the way! Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin
A short drive to GZ with some big puddles to dodge & Foss Ez, GeoKid & Big Ez went to retrieve the cache that was nicely tucked away. Big Grin
SL TNLN

Many thanks to MV on yet another brilliantly put together puzzle that is definately sitting in our 'Top 5'.
We really do appreciate the time & effort that has gone into creating such a wonderful cache.
Two thumbs up from Team Haveanez!

This was a puzzle that was brilliantly put together. We loved every aspect of this puzzle and hunt. It took a little while to get started but once we did it all fell together really easy. The only thing that made it hard for us was the muggles.....muggles at WP2, WP3 and GZ!!....So we just waited....and waited...until finally hooray!! We are pleased to be able to cross this one off our list. SL TNLN Thanks for a great cache.

#256 Found at 2.05pm. The Queen had spent a great number of hours deliberating over the solution of this one. Once GeoPrincess was in bed last night she brought it out again for another look and the puzzle fell into place. This was an exciting night as we had also cracked the final co-ords to Bill & Hams Excellent Adventure (feel like we've won lotto!). This was an excellent puzzle & we nearly relented to obtain a hint but thankfully it all fell into place at the right time Big Grin. We were greatly impressed with the way this was put together & in better weather we may have gone on a walkabout however today we opted for a driveabout instead.

TFTC - a very impressive and well constructed puzzle & Multi - thumbs up from us Big GrinBig Grin

This was cache # 18 of 27 for the day in the company of acts2youthgroup on our way to the Oz Mega event.
Well all I can say is I was glad to be with acts2youthgroup on this one.
I looked at the puzzle and thought, how do I work this one out.
Got some numbers, then acts2yg pointed me in the right direction, then solved the cache page puzzle.
What a great area to have a cache in, from WP1 I just followed acts2yg to GZ.
Thanks to Marcus Vitruvius for the cache.

This was cache # 16 of 25 for the day in the company of hipressure on our way to the Oz Mega event. It took me quite sometime to solve the puzzle on this, I loved the area the cache was located in and was kind of Glad I had decided to drive the Beast up to Wagga. Thanks for the assistance on the rest of the cache. My thanks to Marcus Vitruvius for the cache.

Another fantastic cache.

I knew what I had to do to work out WP1 but needed a hint to get started. Once that was sorted the initial co-ords were sorted.

At WP1 it took a while before things clicked and I was impressed as to how the co-ords for the next WP were hidden.

After driving around in circles to get to the next WP it was also soon sorted out and onto the final.

Surely I'm not putting any part of my body in there!, but sure enough, a clink of metal revealed that was were the cache was and I reached in for the retrieval. Thanks for a great unknown cache MV!

With some confirmation from Marcus that we were on the right track with the puzzle. Geowife and Geoson went on their way to solve the other parts of the puzzle to find the cache.
An hour later the cache was found.

Another great adventure and brain tickler Marcus.

I was on the right track to decode this one, but didn't quite have it. After a clue from MV (yes, I needed one too) and a couple of suggestions from WazzAndWenches, I soon had the coordinates for WP2.

After a man's look at WP2, I was stumped. A quick glance around by my wife then revealed the necessary info for GZ.

GZ was a nice easy find. This was a well thought out cache. I loved it. Thanks MV for a great look around Mungab.

04-Jan-09
Just like most other logs for this cache I did it "with a little bit of help from my friends" or is that line copy righted. The hill via Doctors Point is getting smaller every time I ride the bike over it. I must thank MV for continuing to improve my health but destroying my ability to see clearly. As we get older we cannot have it all. Signed log and pedalled off.

18-Nov-08
At long last I hit GZ today
I don't think I'm the smartest kid on the block I have been staring at this puzzle for a long time. A small hint helped me along .It took a couple of gos at WP2 and 3 which is not surprising as I have trouble finding the beans in the fridge. GZ was easy thank goodness, this must be one of the best spots on the Murray.
Thank you MV for keeping the brain alive and the frequent trips to Mungab

I solved the puzzle with a little help from a friendly owner, and then joined in the hunt with Fred6603 on our trek around the area. Great waypoints and thanks to Mrs Fred for the eagle eyes. Took a coin & a TB and left a watch. Thanks for the entertainment MV,
Roostaman.

04-Oct-08
Found in the company of Roostaman at 1730. Roostaman was the puzzle solver as I got stuck part of the way into the puzzle. It took the keen eyes of Mrs Fred to find the required info at WP2 and WP3. It was then off to a nice easy find at GZ. Took The Newly Weds TB. Thanks Marcus for another challenging well thought out cache and for the time and effort that went into creating this puzzle.

26-Sep-08
When this puzzle was first published I set about trying to solve it and had it after an hour or so. What impressed me, other than the clever puzzle, was the amount of effort that went into constructing it! Talk about patience. Anyhow, my first attempt at this yesterday was thwarted when I realised I'd forgotten to bring some important info with me. I returned today and was able to complete it without too much trouble.

I really liked the way this was put together, a lot of work has gone into its implementation and some beautiful places were visited. If I had some swaps with me I would have topped up the cache, but I simply grabbed a coin to move along.

Keep up the good work,

R - B

Yay, another FTF.
Had worked this one out 2 nights ago but held out for the GeosportZ game to start before finding it.
It took a while to work out, something was obvious, but then it wasn't. After a bit more of a look and trying different possibilities I managed to solve it.

Enjoyed the area (for the second time in a few days) and was thankful it was a miserable day to keep the muggles away.

Thanks Marcus for another puzzle cache.

OUT - 2 x GC,
IN - GC and TB

Cheers.

Signed of on Mada1234's Gz and thought a FTF would make sunday arvo. Well 45 frustrating minuets later we gave up dodging the bike riders, dog walkers and motor cars and headed home feeling very let down at failing. Will watch the log with greater interest to see who will be FTF.
