Out on a maintenance run with the CO and Zobo04. Such a great day for it and just cool and windy enough to keep most of the muggles away. After a short search I spotted what I was looking for.
Thanks Gonefishen07 for the cache and the fun day

Tricky hide this one but perseverance paid off. Had to paf with the puzzle. But managed the cache
Was unable to find it. Maybe I have the wrong coords. Will have to check. Thanks for the hunt anyway
Our third nystery for the day, unfortunately we ran out of time to complete the series and will have to come back another day. Thanks for the hunt, this was certainly a bit of a brain teaser!

Finally at last found after 2 previous visits over the years. Not sure why I found this so hard but so happy that its now off the list. Believe this is may be the last one or 1 to go before the final. Man have been chipping away on this series for about 4 years really hope I can finally reach the final. Its been awesome fun doing this series. Great hide too.

We've been working on this series for a number of years now. We've searched unsuccessfully for this one before, and finally found it today just as we'd about had enough of the wind and patches of rain.
Well hidden by nature ( sand and greenery).
Two more to go, but that will have to wait for another holiday.
Thanks for the series.

Find #4400
I had a good nights sleep in the Wonthaggi area and the plan was to find a few more local caches in the cooler weather and gradually make my way towards Phillip Island for the night.
After finding some reasonable accommodation on the Island, I decided to make use of the longer daylight hours abd go find some more caches. Being around dinner time, there also seemed to be less muggles about.
Continuing up the road, again needed the hint, covered in sand.
Thanks to Hell+Back for placing this cache. TNLN

After some mucking about with we had a set of coordinates and then set out to find the cache. We looked in all the hard places first before laying our hands on the prize. Thanks.
Another find on this sunny day. This one was trickier than it should have been. Thanks
We did a good bit of research and solving of these puzzles at home during the summer months but the Island was like mugglemania so we decided to leave the searching until the cooler months. This morning dawned cloudy & dismal, just the day we thought, but those keen & hardy surfers were still on all the beaches. Thank goodness they were interested more in the state of the surf than watching us.
Perhaps our confidence after the first 2 finds is misplaced as after an extensive search we were unable to find this one. We'll be checking our calculations & returning soon.

Far too many muggles out investigating the surf, had a broad look but didn't find a cache here.

We have wanted to do this series of caches for a very long time and finally our travels have bought us close by. A fine day and awesome scenery made this a caching day to remember. We ventured from spot to spot, occasionally groaning at yet another set of steps and another walk through the sand but then the incredulous comments about the shape of the rocky outcrops, the changing colour of the rocks, the changing sea or the way the sea looked like waterfalls coming off the rocks. As the day turned into night we experienced an amazing sunset with the hues changing to soft and calming colours. During the course of the day we saw Cape Barren Geese, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Sea Eagles and penguins. Our company for the day LazzaL, Gonefishen07 and when school finished Zobo04 joined in the hunt, we could not have asked for better. Thanks to hell+back for the enormous effort in organizing this variety of caches and for showing us the beauty spots of Phillip Island.
A very big day doing this series of caches with Liz and Gonefishen07, some very challnging walks to the caches and some extremely beautiful scenery. This is definitely at least a 2 day exercise to get all of this series. Home at 8pm with pizza for dinner, the rest will have to wait. Thanks to hell+back for hiding this cache.
Found with Liz & Bruce and Lazzal on a perfect day for caching. I was very lucky to be able to tag along with these teams today and gather knowledge from them. These teams carry a wealth on knowledge. It was also a pleasure to be able to show them some fantastic local sights. It was a fun filled day with lots of walking, talking and laughs. Thanks for helping me show them around the island. Thanks to hell+back
No joy for me today. I looked everywhere I could see and reached into spots I couldn't see.
Till next time

We tried this one of a night with no luck. Back today with success. Cache in good condition. Took troll, left key ring. TFTC

Today was our last full day in the Phillip Island area, for a while. We enjoyed being out and about in the sunshine (for a change) in an effort to put a few more smilie faces on our geocaching map of this part of Victoria. We took a few strokes in this series about three years ago and with extra workouts and training at home, our wish to return has become a reality. We unsuccessfully looked for this cache a couple of days earlier. A more thorough search this time found a very tightly secured container. Satellites today had our GZ 6m east of where we found the cache located.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt hell+back.

We ventured out into the wind and rain on another cold and bleak day. We took a few strokes in this series about three years ago and with extra workouts and training at home, our wish to return has become a reality. This one had us tossed, so we opted to come back for a second try in a few days time.

It did take me a while to find this one. Always happy to cross another find off the list especially when you have travelled so far to search.
Enjoyed this puzzle. Certainly learning lots with your puzzles.

We solved the puzzle. Took all the hints in the logs. Searched high and low but to no avail.

Team Mornington, Hazey1, Biger12, MrMcGee and myself on an April Fools day caching run on the island again today.
Grabbed a few and finished off others.
Nice day, for a few caches, looking for one of the new "TINY" caches
Much work done in past to solve most of this series, now is the time to start picking them up.
Really enjoying this series.

Fortunately gz was quiet today. Very grateful of a quiet morning as we searched for the cache. Loving the locations. Thanks hell+back
Suscoe's 13 th find of an early morning run before breakie.
A nice walk to GZ was had in a beautifully sunny morning but a gentle breeze was keeping thing cool.
Just started to search when a concerned muggle asked is he could help looking for want ever we had lost.
Thanked him and sent him on his way!
Once he was gone from sight back into the search, but we admired the ocean views for a while too.
Cache was located and the signing was all done.
Time for breakie now, hopefully pancakes and coffee, so a quick dash back to the caravan and food!
Thanks to hell+back for another nice caching experience.

Well with confirmed coordinates and after a good 20min search looking up and under and around and down just had to admit defeat on this one today, just too good. I'll be back for another go as I only have 3 more to find in "Not Drowning" series and so keen to finish the series. Thanks for the hunt. It maybe there? as other logs have mention it was difficult to spot. I'll watch for awhile to seen if others have better luck then me. Thanks for the hunt regardless.
Afetr finding crazybrids, headed for this one next as it was just down the road a bit. Parked and took the walk (down some stirs this time!) and got to GZ. Hmmm, where could it be I thought as I sat, and then put my hand on the cache! It just works sometimes. Thanks to hell+back for this one, another great view over the ocean beach.
What a great string of caches. Second time for this one. Had to check our information. Nice views and 3 poeple out surfing today. TFTCs.
Looked in the same spot several times before locating this one. Another case of cache blindness. Mind you we had to revisit the puzzle as our initial coordinates had us miles away! Thanks to an assist at the end from Gentopeng.

# 634. The first of the Not Drowning, Caching Series for me. Luckily I had solved 13 of these before I left home. Out with the CO and Robmc on a cache-checking run. There were a few surfers out there hoping to catch a wave but I don't think they were having a lot of luck. TNLN - Thanks H+B.
#2883 By this cache we had to admit defeat, there was absolutely no way that we could complete this series in our time left so we decided to leave a few for our next visit. So this was our last Not Drowning, Caching for the weekend, aside from one DNF we had all but completed most of the westerly caches. There were some very optimistic surfers here with not much in the way of waves. This took a little while to locate as initially a landslip caused some concern, thankfully the cache was located safe and sound. Our thanks o Hell+Back for the puzzle and series, we are looking forward to finalizing it one day.
After a full school term with exam after exam, I didn't get to do much caching. This was all going to change however when I started to plan an assault on Philip Island. I started to think of which town would be best to assault to raise me from the dead after my abysmal effort in the earlier months. With 3 different series, a power trail, and a handful of other caches, Philip Island was the place to go. So I started solving the puzzles and making a few phone calls so I would have the best chance of finding a heap. I solved most of the puzzles, however some of them required a bit of a nudge or someone else to realise my error. I started to think about my route in a way that would get me the most finds possible. We ended up with 55 in one day, and 87 for the whole weekend which was a fantastic effort . The weather was very on and off for the whole weekend which made some journeys quite unpleasant, however on the whole it was awesome. The Nobbies was a definite highlight for me. We started off the day with the 'Pathway' and managed to complete it and all of the other caches along the trail in just over 4 hours. What an awesome weekend! Thank you to all of the owners who contributed, but especially hell+back and The Three Geo Amigos (you know who you are)!

Another legendary night caching run by TDC (The Demolition Crew) + 1. A sensational 78 find run to Phillip Island and back with the usual TDC members - myself, TrailRunning and Quasar3671 and one other, the legendary "Roostaman" from Wagga. The trip started in the Dandenong area, and progressed around Westernport and all the way to the other end of Phillip Island. There were several foci for the night, those being the powertrails up the middle of the island, as well as the Drowning, Not Caching puzzle series. We didn't get all the puzzle series done, but we did smash the powertrail. A sensational night, great company, chicken rolls, and an impromptu stop at an abandoned lounge suite on the side of the road, which made for a great "chicken roll" break.
Another one down in this great series. Another quick find on this one. TFTC.

Well it was another Monday night, and it was time for the Demolition Crew to get out and grab some caches. This time the Roostaman joined us for a night fun in the area of Phillip Island. As Quasar3671 had already done many on the Island, he joined Blacklegend and I in the wee hours of the morning to collect those caches he had not yet done. All in all it was a fun night with cheerful banter, chicken rolls and the odd refreshment. While we were not able to clear out the whole island, we grabbed as many as we could, with only 2 DNF in 80 caches. The run started in Dandenong, with a few caches for Blacklegend, but we soon found an area where all of us were happy to collect the smilies. A quick walk to a quick find. Thanks.

Another neat puzzle, and today was the day to come have a look for the cache. There was a freezing cold wind, but certainly a great view. The weather kept the muggles at bay, so there were no interruptions on that front and thanks to good co-ords the container was quickly retrieved. Then a dash back to the warmth of the car. Thanks hell+back for the cache.
12/05/12 3:35 PM Find #988 Whew! Its windy! Today Square Pegs and I are on a Phillip Island Caching Mission and we found this one. Thanks for bringing us here.
Right where it should have been, no need to leave the boardwalk to find this cache. TFTC.
Back at 'home' and ready for breaky, I realised that I'd forgotten to look for this one . So, it was back in the car and off to GZ, which was like Bourke Street on such a glorious morning with a beautiful off-shore breeze to put a smile on all the surfers' faces .
Timing my search between the passing parade, I finally had the nicely hidden stash in hand at 09:50.
TNLNSL noted clue. Thanks for all of your caches on this trip Hell+Back .

DNF - Straight forward puzzle, searched and searched along the structure… eventually gave up as the rain and lure of the other caches in the series beckoned. A passing muggle asked whether we were searching for mutton birds… gave him a big grin. TFTCSF.
We wouldn't have found this one without the Walenators as all our technology did a nose dive. The Chief had a meltdown because all his files of mystery solutions disappeared off the GPS and laptop, argh! Would have quite happily drowned the computer here. TFTC
Puzzle was solved ages ago for this cache but we have only just had the opportunity to get here to attempt it. The kids loved the waves crashing onto the beach but still wouldn't get out of the car to help search. TFTC and remembered to grab the clue....SL.....TNLN
Find number 2500. A trip down to the Island gave me the opportunity to have a go at some of the 'Not Drowning , Caching' series. As with most of the puzzles in the series I had this solved a little while ago with a bit of research. Had to read a few logs before I could really narrow down where the cache was hidden and found shortly afterwards. Nice hide and TFTC.

This was a bit of a tricky cache to find. Even though the location is easy to reach, the cache was a bit trickier to grab as it had slipped down a bit. This might need a quick check to avoid a smiliar incident rendering the cache unreachable. Another great location to come to though, so we really appreciated that.
Took nothing, left nothing.

My third go at this one. The first was over 2 years ago when three of us did the series. The next was this morning, when I got muggled out. On the third go I had to wait a few minutes, then could get stuck into it.
I crawled through every inch (or so I thought) and still didn't find it. Finally, a little comment from a previous logger about potential erosion gave me an idea and I finally got the beast of a hide. The last of this series for me at last!

Thanks for the heads-up - when I checked the slightest brush with my fingers sent it careening out of reach! Fortunately my trusty side-kick was on hand to retrieve it.
It's now more securely stowed at the same location.

It's been just over two years since we were last here and this one beat us that time so with so many caches on the island now it was time for round 2. Found by Mary & David at 0830. Our GZ was a little off, so we had to look in a few places before we spotted the cache. Luckily only one dog walker to disturb our peace. Our thanks once more to Hell+Back.

It was quite cold and windy in the exposed locations along this section of the coast this morning - although it didn't seem to totally deter the muggles who seemed to pop up now and then (although they don't tend to hang about in such conditions). Anyway, it turned out to be a quick find for me and I was soon back to the warmth of the car.

We thought we'd have to give up on this one but eventually patience paid off - we found the cache and signed the log. TFTC.
Looking back over the cache notes, I well remember that there certainly was a 'trick' to gleaning the correct answers. Anyway, with a history of dnf's by some well experienced box finders, I must say I was quite proud of myself when I found this one! I'll admit it took me while to find, complete with posing as a tourist taking photos whenever someone passed by. A tidy hide indeed, with the cache being bigger than I expected. TNLN & SL at 3:55pm. Thanks again Hell+Back for the cache. Regards, 38degsouth.
It is very sad to see that, with a collective found count of over 11 thousand, three experienced cachers couldn't find one 400ml sistema container.
It was still there when we looked.

Thanks, Robmc.

Thanks Hell+Back for the cache.
Thanks Hell+Back for the cache.
As the others stated we searched here quite some time and even came back for another try but I think this has been muggled.
This was the only disapopointment for the day, We were confident of our solution but despite a thorough search by three cachers we came up empty handed. We made several phone calls and got some good information on the hide but still no find. therefore have concerns that this one has gone.
We were sure we had the puzzle correct and after the three of us pored over GZ we made a series of phone calls to previous finders. Returned for another go without luck.
We found our 18th Hell+Back cache at 2:40pm as the 19th of 32 on our Phillip Island "Magnum P.I." trip with Cold Freeze, Team Rubik and Acts2YouthGroup. Cold Freeze made the find here with all of us hunting in different close by locations. Thanks for the cache from D B-A.
I made note of the previous logs, notes and clues when solving this one as it appeared it could be quite tricky. Once at GZ the cache was found without too much trouble much to our relief, I don't know where we would have had access to other information if we hadn't found it.
Thanks,

Nineteenth of Thirty two cache finds for the day and seventeenth of the not drowning series, the cache was found in the company of Rabbitto, Rubik and Cold Freeze on our P.I plunder day. No surfies here today but Pyramid rock was still looking good, the bike roar was fading at this point. Thanks Hell=Back for the cache.
Found at 3.35pm GAFF3 in the company of The Grovers.
Once again we found ourselves being forced to look at the hint to work out what to do. We nearly gave this one a miss when we realised that we didn't have the right info and there was no way of checking it here - even after a couple of calls! As a last resort, we decided to work on a couple of options and the second one worked - thank goodness as it was getting cold out there and we still had to have our lunch.
Thanks Hell+Back.

Managed a FTF here. Woo hoo!! Had a little trouble with this one as others have too apparently. It's a matter of getting the correct info really. More great sea views and surfers braving the heavy surf. I noticed that most of the surfies are old blokes like me too. Just like most bikies these days. Where's all the young ones? Too slack to get out of bed in a lot of cases I suspect.

These are a great collection of beaches, with a bit of nasty weather threating the muggle count was low, but it doesn't stop the dog walkers. Thanks goodness for a digital camera. No one thinks it is weird someone standing halfway up the stairs taking photos.
Nice little puzzle, caused a bit of trouble if the comments at the cache event were anything to go by. You would think that all these cachers living here would know their Australian history a bit better
Good for Chewin' - a FTF!
Fortunately, if you have the wrong answer, you are miles away
Another one bites the dust.
Thanks, Robmc.

For those of you struggling with your Australian political history, and if you have gone as far as reading the clue, and your GZ is a looonng way away from the Beach Sign, I would suggest finding another list (one without photos).

We had a set of co ords that turned out to be useless when we arrived, so we headed off into town to see what we could find. Armed with some new information we headed back, unfortunately these were of no use to us either. We tried the where would we hide it routine with no luck and decoded the clue which seemed to head us back in the general area we had searched, another quick look and we decided that this wasn't going to be ours today. We will have to return another day
