Out on a maintenance run with the CO and Zobo04. Such a great day for it and just cool and windy enough to keep most of the muggles away. After a short search I spotted what I was looking for.
Thanks Gonefishen07 for the cache and the fun day
Thanks Gonefishen07 for the cache and the fun day
Far easier than my last attempt at this one. Coords I had actually worked and after a bit of exploration I actually found it quite easily. Signed log and returned it to its home.
Got distracted by a red herring, but it helped us find the right prize. With Surefoot24. TFTC
Once I had closely re-read the clues I soon had the puzzle solved. Went to GZ on a very windy day with ICW. The awful weather kept the muggles away, so I was able to retrieve and return the container in peace. Tftc.
So there are a lot of caring youths out there when we are sitting in the grass 3 young men stopped to ask if we were ok lol may of been the look on our faces tftc
This is a puzzle type I've not completed before. Not in a geocaching context anyway. The cache was found mercifully swiftly; there were an awful lot of people about today, though slightly fewer at this precise time because of what seemed to be an AFL final-induced lull of a couple of hours duration. Thanks Hell+Back and Gonefishen07!
Found with my family - becca85, boo09 & chan02 as well as GemmaSistma & boys on a roadtrip for the school holidays. Sorry for the very tardy logging. TFTC
School holiday time once again which means Team Clarmensma is formed (myself+GemmaSistema+neisha07+boo09+Adam+Luke) and one lucky destination gets to host us.
This time it was Phillip Island and decided to make a 3 day road-trip of it.
The weather treated us fairly well and we enjoyed the many beautiful views and landscapes that we were taken to. TFTC!

In Philip Island for a few days of caching with becca85 and our geokids - Adam, Luke, neisha07 and boo09. Another quick find here which was nice as I was tiring! Fab views yet again! Many thanks
We had solved this puzzle a few weeks ago & decided to head down quickly to GZ tonight, before the rain was due to hit. Found relatively quickly, although geohubby found it on the ground. Opened up to container to find everything damp. After signing log, placed log & clue in bag and sealed, left trackable & placed back with a little more cover than how he found it. TNSL left trackable. Thanks for the hide!
Found this one pretty much instantly. A great cache and place. None around apart for a few in the carpark. TFTC
Fantastic hunt for this cache series, thanks so much for preparing them, some really tricky clues. This one took us ages because in our excitement to solve the puzzle we missed a critical hint in the clue, after we picked that up it all started to come together.
The skies were grey and the Surrfies Point location was a little windy. Found after a short search. TFTC
Thank goodness, first one found for the day after two we couldn't find!! Thankyou
This is one of few mysteries we managed to get right first try. Cache was located on the ground so we propped it up underneath the boardwalk where we think it should have been. Thanks for the cache and the stunning views. Garfield loved the view
Searched yesterday but couldn't find. Did score a twisted ankle scrabbling around under steps. Silly to do on a cold wet windy winters day.

With the continuation of great weather, we went back to Phillip Island for some sightseeing
and to pick up a few more caches.
Worked our way through as many of the puzzles as we could, and a few traditionals as well.
Thanks to all the owners, for the effort that you put into the construction and the hides.
Many thanks for placing this cache, hell+back, for us and others to find.

After solving this puzzle last night (I got really excited when the words all came together!), the geohubby and I parked in the convenient car park and headed on down. As we approached gz, I read out the hint and unbeknown to me, it's a song. A really annoying song. Especially annoying when your husband knows it and proceeds to sing it, off key, all the way to the cache. Ugh. Anyway, I was rewarded for my patience as I dived under the platform and spotted the cache first, making the geohubby perform the extraction. TFTC hell+back
Another day of caching on the Island with the family....another day of changeable weather. Great excuse to be out and about. Fairly quick find once at GZ. There were a surprising number of muggles out given the weather. TFTC
Found this with the familiy. Mum and Dad worked out the puzzles then we all went to find them together. Thanks for this series - it's been great fun!
We did a good bit of research and solving of these puzzles at home during the summer months but the Island was like mugglemania so we decided to leave the searching until the winter. This morning dawned cloudy & dismal, just the day we thought, but those keen & hardy surfers were still on all the beaches. Thank goodness they were interested more in the state of the surf than watching us.
We found this one straightforward. The cache was found in good order.

The surf improving in the morning, many out & about. Found easily so a good start to a few more NDC caches.

Found while on a quick trip to the area, thanks for the fun and great scenery 'hell+back'
We have wanted to do this series of caches for a very long time and finally our travels have bought us close by. A fine day and awesome scenery made this a caching day to remember. We ventured from spot to spot, occasionally groaning at yet another set of steps and another walk through the sand but then the incredulous comments about the shape of the rocky outcrops, the changing colour of the rocks, the changing sea or the way the sea looked like waterfalls coming off the rocks. As the day turned into night we experienced an amazing sunset with the hues changing to soft and calming colours. During the course of the day we saw Cape Barren Geese, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Sea Eagles and penguins. Our company for the day LazzaL, Gonefishen07 and when school finished Zobo04 joined in the hunt, we could not have asked for better. Thanks to hell+back for the enormous effort in organizing this variety of caches and for showing us the beauty spots of Phillip Island.
A very big day doing this series of caches with Liz and Gonefishen07, some very challnging walks to the caches and some extremely beautiful scenery. This is definitely at least a 2 day exercise to get all of this series. Home at 8pm with pizza for dinner, the rest will have to wait. Thanks to hell+back for hiding this cache.
Found with Liz & Bruce and Lazzal on a perfect day for caching. I was very lucky to be able to tag along with these teams today and gather knowledge from them. These teams carry a wealth on knowledge. It was also a pleasure to be able to show them some fantastic local sights. It was a fun filled day with lots of walking, talking and laughs. Thanks for helping me show them around the island. Thanks to hell+back
My last morning staying in San Remo, so I got up early and headed out across the bridge to try to find a few more caches. We had had a good time over the last few days with shopping, karting, eating out and experiencing the wildlife. And finding a few caches.
I parked nearby and wandered over to GZ. I hadn't had a lot of luck over the last few days with these hides but was determined to find this one. There was no-one around and hopefully no-one in the nearby houses with a view. I searched and eventually came up with the cache.
Great views this morning.

Again, finally ticked this off, it's been a long time coming and we managed to get this one despite the muggles. Emily is under there saying "But Daddy, it fell through here and i have to find it". It is always a great diversion and she can get away with a lot of stuff.
Thanks to H&B for the great hide.

Fun little puzzle, we used to do these as kids. Found easily as there were no muggles on this particular day. TFTC

We ventured out into the wind and rain on another cold and bleak day. We took a few strokes in this series about three years ago and with extra workouts and training at home, our wish to return has become a reality. The weather radar application on the mobile proved its worth as we timed our cache gathering in between breaks in the rain.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt hell+back.

We had started to find caches in this series over the weekend and had made a small number of finds. With only this afternoon and tomorrow available to us, we made a concerted effort today. It was a wonderful winter's day and as the sun set, the weather remained quite mild. It was so mild that we were able to cache with torches until 7:30pm before it started to turn a little cool. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find of this cache in the mid to late afternoon. The cache and its contents were in good condition. Thanks for the puzzle and cache hell+back. We are getting closer to tackling the final puzzle.
Happily worked on the puzzles at least 8 months ago and today we were spending our time in the ccool to search for as many as we could.
We were surprised as to how busy it was now winter has set in. No mugles around so we enjoyed a quick find here.
The puzzle wasn't as quick to work out though.

Finding these is the easiest bit and that's not always easy. Oooh the challenge of getting them done before we arrived. The weather was looking ominous, but we manage to get back to the cachemobile as it broke. Well done on a great challenge hell+back

Bogonghazy and I didn't get to solve all puzzles before our trip down this weekend, so we'll be sure to return again for the remainder at some stage. This was a great spot and views, even with the chilling winds we experienced here today. Thanks to hell+back for the cache and the series.
Team Mornington, Hazey1, Biger12, MrMcGee and Saulman1010. Having solved this awhile ago, time to actually go collect some on our way out and about. TFTC
Team Mornington, Hazey1, Biger12, MrMcGee and myself on an April Fools day caching run on the island again today.
Grabbed a few and finished off others.
Nice day, for a few caches, looking for one of the new "TINY" caches
Much work done in past to solve most of this series, now is the time to start picking them up.
Really enjoying this series.

My regular caching partner SedgwickDave has left me for a holiday in Western Australia, so I decided to head out to an area he had already covered and find as many caches as possible. My main target was the hell+back Not Drowning, Caching series, which I had managed to solve most caches some time ago, but it was not until today that I had the opportunity to go and find them. As it was going to be a very hot day, I was keen to head out early when hopefully it was a bit cooler.
I was able to spot this one from the path, but even with my long arms, I had to leave the track to retrieve the cache. I had to wait for quite a few muggles to pass before the coast was clear.
Thanks to hell+back for the cache. TNLN

Loved the puzzle challenge and the great location. It's the first time I've been to these beaches. Thanks hell+back
Oh no the wind was so strong that it blew the lid into the dunegrass and we had to leave the board walk as briefly as possible to retrieve it. tftc
Only 5 more to go and then we will have finished this series. Sure has kept us busy, especially with the diversions we have taken to find other caches on the way.
Thanks Hell+Back, you've sure had us busy!

# 637. Luckily I had solved quite a few of these puzzles before leaving home. Called in with the CO and Robmc and found the cache container had decided to drift from its original hiding place. TNLN, Thanks H+B.
Looked in on this one with a friend & discovered there'd been some creep - returned to its original spot.
After a full school term with exam after exam, I didn't get to do much caching. This was all going to change however when I started to plan an assault on Philip Island. I started to think of which town would be best to assault to raise me from the dead after my abysmal effort in the earlier months. With 3 different series, a power trail, and a handful of other caches, Philip Island was the place to go. So I started solving the puzzles and making a few phone calls so I would have the best chance of finding a heap. I solved most of the puzzles, however some of them required a bit of a nudge or someone else to realise my error. I started to think about my route in a way that would get me the most finds possible. We ended up with 55 in one day, and 87 for the whole weekend which was a fantastic effort . The weather was very on and off for the whole weekend which made some journeys quite unpleasant, however on the whole it was awesome. The Nobbies was a definite highlight for me. We started off the day with the 'Pathway' and managed to complete it and all of the other caches along the trail in just over 4 hours. What an awesome weekend! Thank you to all of the owners who contributed, but especially hell+back and The Three Geo Amigos (you know who you are)!

#2788 Well it seems that we were overly ambitious with what we could accomplish today, unfortunately we did not get the opportunity to tour the island as we would have liked. So it means we will just have to return -perhaps at a time when it is not a long weekend. A few people were enjoying this location but were far enough away not to be bothered by us. Our thanks to hell+back for the puzzle and cache, looking forward to returning [^]
Another legendary night caching run by TDC (The Demolition Crew) + 1. A sensational 78 find run to Phillip Island and back with the usual TDC members - myself, TrailRunning and Quasar3671 and one other, the legendary "Roostaman" from Wagga. The trip started in the Dandenong area, and progressed around Westernport and all the way to the other end of Phillip Island. There were several foci for the night, those being the powertrails up the middle of the island, as well as the Drowning, Not Caching puzzle series. We didn't get all the puzzle series done, but we did smash the powertrail. A sensational night, great company, chicken rolls, and an impromptu stop at an abandoned lounge suite on the side of the road, which made for a great "chicken roll" break.
Another one down in this great series. Starting to enjoy boardwalks on this series. TFTC.

Well it was another Monday night, and it was time for the Demolition Crew to get out and grab some caches. This time the Roostaman joined us for a night fun in the area of Phillip Island. As Quasar3671 had already done many on the Island, he joined Blacklegend and I in the wee hours of the morning to collect those caches he had not yet done. All in all it was a fun night with cheerful banter, chicken rolls and the odd refreshment. While we were not able to clear out the whole island, we grabbed as many as we could, with only 2 DNF in 80 caches. The run started in Dandenong, with a few caches for Blacklegend, but we soon found an area where all of us were happy to collect the smilies.
Found on a fantastic night caching run around Phillip Island with Blacklegend and TrailRunning, joined later by Quasar3671. Another find just like the other ones, then we were on the road again. TFTC,

There were a few surfers out down below, and one windsurfer flying along out to sea. Thankfully no surfies about nearby, so we had the area to ourselves to locate the hide. This series is certainly highlighting some great spots. Thanks for the cache.
12/05/12 4:17 PM Find #990 Today Square Pegs and I are on a Phillip Island Caching Mission and we found this one. Thanks for bringing us here.
With a trip down to the Island in the offing, I made sure I had a few of this series keyed in. On a glorious evening, this was second closest cache to 'home' so after crossing the closest one off the list, I mosied on down here for a nice easy find at 21:20. There were no views to be seen at this time of night but I made sure I came back in the morning to see what I'd missed .

You should redo this one as Roadkill - something very unpleasant has occurred here. Had solved the puzzle some time ago but a GSAK disaster precluded a search. Have now found some of my notes - unfortunately not all of them seemed to have been checked with evince before I loaded them. My bad. A great spot and nice and quiet today. TFTC
We found this cache as a part of a non-stop 24 hour caching run with Marcus Vitruvius.

I needed to work around a group of 3 muggles here - after they passed me and headed down to the sand, I managed to locate the well-hidden cache and do my logging, but I had to wait until they'd passed me again on the way back up before I could replace it. Luckily, in the cold conditions, all muggles seem to move a lot faster than usual .
