Cache replaced . Please leave tied in place, and re-cover . Nearly flat with micro menehune waves today
Bit of a look around until I found it. Lots of muggles around 10am. Didn't get caught
We watched the surfing catching the waves, and decided to stay here tonight.
Lovely beach, and this is an amazing tree.

Great find! Beautiful place for a swing and left a local sticker for the next lucky cacher!
Beautiful day for a cache hunt. Found it pretty easy, had a go on the swing while on it.
Our first trackable here - Guten Tag from Germany. Will make sure it ends up somewhere with equally magnificent view.

Great hiding place. Manageable little scramble onto tree. Even the rain didn't spoil it.
A great picturesque spot a great surf break with a few boarders along with paddle boarders having a great time the house above had some dog roped to the tree all good here..tftc
We backtracked from Ngungaru to find some caches along this stunning coast that was part of my childhood. As we approached gz, we found a muggle and her two dogs very close by. She wandered off, leaving the two dogs (tied up). While we had the chance we found and signed the cache. Thanks for bringing us here SaltyCacheNutz
What a beautiful place to be! We sheltered from the rain under the pohutukawa branch... torrential showers every afternoon also sedm to be a compulsory part of the Auckland experience. There's a rope swing here again but we weren't game to try it.
What a fabulous beach. On a little tiki tour of the Bay of islands from the Bay of Plenty. Nice quick find. Log wet do have put plastic bag in. Cheers
As we're camped up close to here for the night, we're able to watch a number of muggles catching the waves.
Fortunately none down this end of the beach.
The container was easy to spot. Perhaps a little too easy, so I put a piece of wood to partially cover it.
Thanks for putting this here for us to find

Stopped to collect on way to Whananaki, but the tide was to high. Many hours have past, the water level is much lower, and I can now keep my feet dry.
A short walk along the beach, the light is fading fast, not dark yet, but not to far away. Luckily a quick find, and the log was found.
Thanks for the hide, and for bringing me here. Last find for the day

Freedom camped nearby, great views, nice & quiet with a few Surfers. No TB in this Cache unfortunately. TFTC
#11,505. I am on a northern road trip to finish off the latest geotour, pick up solved puzzle finals, virtuals, challenges and a sprinkling of other cache types that are close by. After spending the night in Whangarei I have quite a few things planned today before I stop the night in Kaitaia.
There were a few surfies out on the water when I arrived and more showing up. A reasonable set of waves were coming in but nothing much over a metre. But nicely spaced and good for easy riding. Bit less hair raising than the surf I saw at Raglan a week or so ago that was about 4-5 m in height. The tide was heading in today but I managed to skirt the rocky shoreline. Great tree and bach. A classic NZ summer hideaway. After looking on the wrong side at first I made an easy find on the right side of the tree. Signed the logbook and returned the cache where found. Thanks SaltyCacheNutZ for hiding it here.

Easy find....As it was empty and so big I added log paper and lots of tiny toys for swag for kids.
The surf has been pumping all week! Finally turned onshore, so checked on cache. Missing from original GZ, which is fair overgrown and a bit thrashed, so added some sunscreen and tucked it back in to it's nook.
No emergency supplies.
No surf.
No surfing.
Beautiful spring weather.
Left a TB from Ohio. USA.

Hadn't been put back well as we had to go quite far into flax tried to put it back according to hint.
Nice sized container, cache is sadly empty so we popped something in for the next person, please don't take it if you have got nothing to replace it with. Gorgeous spot on a lovely coastal beach.
Queen's birthday weekend in Northland. Enjoyed my walk to cache location. Congratulations on your first hide

Took a while to catch this wave, I followed the hint which lead to a obvious spot, but after a few minutes of not finding I readjusted.
Looked all around and spotted it about 3 meters further into the flax.
Was able to grab it, assuming it wasn’t mean to be almost unreachable, I left it tucked in it’s nice hidey hole as per the hint.
Thanks for the cache!

Nice walk and a fun find. Surprised to find no log inside. The inner container was empty as were the two plastic bags. I thought the big piece of coloured paper which I signed might have been the log but that only has muggle words on it.
Now back to the car park for another magical swim in this part of the country.

Great spot! And there now is a new looking swing again. Main problem was the amount of people on the Beach do had use the kids to look unobviously! TFTC

Nice hide. One of the most kiwi spots you could place a cache. Surf, sun and Pohutukawa. No log book but a cool cache all the same. Just some wet paper.
Due to the Covid 19 lockdown & the need for everyone to keep within their "bubble", same reason as playgrounds are off limits, so are physical geocaches until further notice. Try some cracking puzzle/mystery caches, and get find the finals later, when it is safe.
Keep Well everyone!

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
*We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.*
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!

Quite a lot of surfers but actual hide area is a little out of the way. I liked the clear instructions in the hint.

Great find. Thanks. Classic day weather wise. Am taking my German gf to Russell along these awesome roads her tour bus wouldn't take. She's over the moon. My note to all: can we please use the paper log pages more efficiently. Thanks.
After a short airbnb break in Paihia we are making our way home via a slightly longer route than absolutely necessary. Parked and wandered along the beach to where we could Cache a Wave. Walked up the tree and soon located the container. Great spot, thanks.
Three years ago our daughter and son-in-law had walked past here as part of the Te Araroa Trail. Today there are a lot of walkers around, and when a couple of them asked for a lift up the hill from here, we had no hesitation in paying forward some of the kindness that had been shown to ours.

The tide was still pretty high as I headed along to GZ but I kept my powder dry. Onto and up to tyhe cache and all was good here, T F T C SaltyCacheNutZ.
Day 2 was the first day with Kaela going to work so to help out I offered to drive her in and bring her back. It gave Ed a chance to get the kids ready for the day and me to maybe grab a couple of caches and do a little grocery shopping, good deal all round.
Me and mrs capperz are up in Northland visiting our son, his partner and their four kiddies under 3 years old! Should be fun catching up and seeing how they've come on sice we last saw them 5 months ago in Australia. We headed up via re-locatable car from Wellington to Auckland Airport, via Whanganui overnight at daughter's, then swapped into our own hire car from Saturday until we head back to Marlbro next Wednesday evening. Not too many caching targets, but a few possibilities and hope to get the Virtuals as we pass them.

Great find on a sunny day in Northland! Surf conditions were okay, but just right for beginner surfers
Was just taking a morning walk on the amazing sandy's bay beach and decided to see if there was a geocache near me so i saw this one and took a look it wasnt hidden very good by the last person any one could have seen but great geocache thanks ; )
Lovely Beach walk. Don't know anything about sure conditions but due to there being about 30 odd out there would say conditions are ok. Not seen anyone get a totally awesome ride though. Tftc
Bit of a climb for a 77yr old, great cache, and a lively walk along the beach.
Dismayed to find cache was missing! Then glad to discover it had been hidden in another spot nearby. Not sure if due to muggles, or the last finder needs educating?
Anyhow, the cache and a back at original GZ

Had a nice surf, a run on the beach & a peep to check on the cache. All good. Haha, should have waited a couple more days to wish the cache a happy 10th birthday!
Cache replaced. Hopefully this one stays dryer & cleaner. The old Sistema seals don't do well with sand & moisture... Beautiful day; flat conditions so had a nice swim.
Stopped by between surf sessions & dropped off a new pen, a travelbug & a painted rock .
Yay we found it not to hard but not to easy. Soo much fun. Can’t wait to find our next geocache

Super cool hiding spot! Found right on a magical sunset. Sandy Bay is my favourite place in the world since childhood so this was a super special find for me. The amount of times I have been a metre from it!! Thanks so much for this cache
-tb +fridge magnet sloppy little onshore waves today, spoiled yesterday with decent fun size swell & offshore wind!
Just visiting to drop off a TB that we've had for too long without having time to do much travelling.
Out for a beach walk today in much better weather than yesterday, but surprisingly few muggles on the beach. Was quite surprised to find such an awesome cache in a relatively exposed place, but it's all good at present. Was tempted by the path tag, but as I already have one, left it for another lucky cacher. TFTC
It was a beautiful day to combine geocaching and sunbathing on the beach. We had a hard time to find this cache. Because we didn't know wat a flax was, but in the end we put our names on the log.

Nice quick find with PHILBIRDBOYS after a two hour surf lesson. Gorgeous beach. TFTC.
Checked on cache after a surf, added some zinc & removed 2 TBs to move & keep safe as this cache doesn't get visited often but also gets a few muggle kids this time of year
Just visiting again to drop off some TBs that we've had for far too long; they need to be moved on please. Hot day and a crowded beach down the other end. TFTC.
Whangarei Day2.
We spent a delightful day in the outer region of Whangarei, driving through the rolling country side then onto the sea side where many surfers were enjoying the waves.
A great variety of locations & hides were found. Worth a favourite point for location.
Thanks for placing this cache SaltyCacheNutZ

Just popping back as it's been nearly three years and some TBs fancied a visit. Contents all in good shape. Trying to upload a photo. TFTC.
