17/2/2024 Find #6853Fangsoki had planned an event at Cherbourg so along with a number of others, our small group of Fangsoki, pPrime, Captain Terror and I drove fromBrisbane to attend a rather enjoyable event. Once that was over however, it was time to make an indirect journey home. Of course older caches are always on the radar and those of us who did not yet have this one were all keen to change that. We pulled in and I began heading in one direction, but Captain Terror wandered only slightly away from the car in the other direction and made a speedy find. Ummm what?Ok so I was looking at an old listing I had of the cache and hadnt seen that it had been moved. Just as well, considering there was nothing more than a slight hole where the cache used to reside. Thanks for the cache Garfield69au.

Finally, I'm back! Given my DNF a few months back, I was watching and super impressed how quickly the CO acted and replaced this geocache. I've been keen to return ever since.Today I'm out for about 10 hours of driving and geocaching through South Burnett and Cherbourg with Fangsoki, Pprime and 1MinnieMoo. We'd headed north from 06:00 up the highway, but after attending the event we were aiming for, we came home via Kingaroy, Nanango, the D'Aguilar and arguably, a much more interesting collection of roads.Between the four of us, there's always a bunch of assorted geocaches to find. Likely already found by one, two or three of us. But hey, stopping and revisiting places is hard to argue with also. I had added this to our list for the stretch between towns. An oldie and a blue face on my map.Arriving here, it's clear there's been a lot of rain. In late 2023, the area looked like a tinderbox. Today, lush and green and lovely. While the others seemed a little lost and got confused by either the hint, or looking at the wrong listing, I wandered over and made a quick find. All in great condition still, so logbook signed at 12:30. I'm a really happy boy to have found this now. Thanks for the geocache, and prompt maintenance, Garfield69au Smile

**Found Saturday 14-October-2023 at 16:07 Smiley #2281**Wow, I have slowly just been finding caches, signing logs, logging drafts and simply forgetting about these and never actually logging them. My sincerest apologies to the relevant CO's, especially if I found issues with them and didn't do anything about them.Unfortunately my drafts were also designed to jog my memory about the cache to assist with the logging process. Doesn't work when some of them are over 2 years old. Here comes some generic comments. Once again, I apologise SadGood condition. Nice easy find. It was so ridiculously hot that day. Doing a big loop from Ipswich, up the highway, Blackbutt, then Crows Nest and over the back roads back to Ipswich where I was staying.Cache logs are either stamped, signed with Rogersclan13 or just RC13 for space. Thanks for the cache **Garfield69au** Big GrinRogersclan13 Cool

I'm off for a weekend away camping at Lake Boondooma. With my tent and bike in the back, intended for a side-mission along the BVRT, I have a handful of choice geocaches to collect and this is first on my list. Getting properly away from Brisbane feels like a boring drive, but as the D'Aguilar crunches the kilometres, things feel much wider and nicer. Rolling into Moore, I recall last time I visited, years ago was October. Two missions while here, this geocache, then sort out best approach for the BVRT bit that I wanted to do. I rolled into this cemetery and amazed I hadn't attempted this geocache before. I had the place to myself (as far as the living is concerned) so parked up and got out for a stretch.Quickly, I began looking about but no geocache. A muggle pair appeared and left while I was looking under and inside all sorts of things. No geocache. I read throughly past logs and comments, looked at photos and matched the satellite view. But no geocache. I even did a check of the ground in case the council mower has collected a fallen geocache but no.Looking about, a couple of trees have been recently cut down here and mulched. Perhaps in the last month or so. And it makes if council were removing dead or stumpy trees, that this geocache could have been in one. Indeed, GZ had me right on a dirt and mulch patch where a tree once was.All this considered, I'm convinced this geocache is gone, and needs the owner to come check it out. Either way, a nice stop for me today, and a patch of quiet to plan my next move. Maybe next time!

# 8752 Find day 13/20 the current souvenir season.
Today, iPlod65 is running in a 100mile - 160km event along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. I'm part of her crew, so grabbing caches as time and place permits. It would be great to ride the BVRT and get the rest some time. Always love a cemetery cache. Took me a little while to find the one.
Thanks Garfield69au for the hide.

Found this one on the way to my parents place in BB. A great little cache and a great little cemetery. Sadly the youngest daughter was quite distressed in the cemetery and we had to make it a relatively short fast stop. Still great to tick off another cache - this one now on the list of the oldest 1000 geocaches in Queensland.
TFTF garfield.

What a beautiful cemetery this is . It was my husband who spotted the cache and then we had a look around . Thanks for taking us here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy

Another quick find today while out for a drive. Tftc

Lovely quiet old cemetery, with some fascinating history of early settlers. Did indeed hear the birds and the cows, and got within a foot of a hare hiding behind a gravestone. Not sure who was more surprised, him or us!

A very delayed log since it's been sitting forgotten in my drafts pile for a couple of years. We were on a Christmas camping trip to the nearby and wonderfully named Camp Duckadong and stopped at this lovely, peaceful cemetary on our way back from a day trip.

27-Dec-21
I scratched around the obvious spot for a bit before I found it. Thanks for the cache

05-Nov-21
My BVRT ride is taking longer than anticipated as i keep running into friends and camping with them!
Loving the ride and geocaching.

We stopped by this quiet place this morning and spotted the two containers and opted for the easier one to retrieve and signed the log and replaced as found. Sat near GZ and listened to the abundant bird life. Thanks for the cache Garfirld69au.

After visiting Linville I almost forgot to stop and collect this cache on the way back to the highway…

Lucky it’s hard to just drive past a cemetery these days…

No problems at GZ… replaced the snap lock bag and returned everything as found… tftc…

Thank you for the cache

Picking up some caches whilst on my way to attend QOGM 2021 Paroo at Cunnamulla.
Cache found without difficulty, in the expected area. I quickly saw the something that was just not right, just a little out of place. Cache in good condition.
Such a peaceful spot, with plenty of birdlife. And the absolutely magnificent bouganvillia nearby!

I wasn't sure whether to do this cache or not, being in moore where the famous 'swoop brothers' lived.
I'd planned on just hammering it past town lest i anger those pesky penguins.
Yet when i was passing on the rail trail today, i'd yet to be attacked and there was a pefectly good opening in the trail to duck over for a look here.
Enroute i surprised two monstrous black snakes copulating. Amusing.
I found the cache after a bit of awkward planking.. i should have taken a photo of the log, interesting the only name in the logbook was hippydonna who replaced it! Not the other seven geople who also apparently found it. So confusing.. mebe there is actually two caches there. *shrugs*
I found the vitamin container in the stump. Not that hard with a bit of effort, although a ladder would've helped.
Thanks garfield for hiding a cache in this lonely cemetary so many years ago.

Day 4 of 10 – Moore to Benarkin – Uphill - Cache 1. I decided to duck off the rail trail and drop down to do this cache quickly whilst everyone continued on. However, there were council workers in the cemetery working that morning. I rode to close to GZ and tried to not look out of place. I wandered a little here and a little there before a council lady comes over and asks me if I was studying trees. I had actually spoken with her earlier in the free campsite we had stayed at overnight. I had to tell her I was geocaching and right at that moment I spotted the hide and the cache inside. She was most impressed and happy the cache was there. TFTC.

Beautiful resting place. We were both out looking for this one! Had to have a good look but found it! TFTC

Unfortunately there is nothing in the stump and it has eroded somewhat as well. We even grabbed ladder and grabber to have a better look in.
We have replaced the cache with a vitamin container and rite in the rain paper.

All good to go again Smile

Some new mulch around GZ had us worried initially but the cache is still there! Quick find as we pass through on our way to Nanango.

14-Aug-19
Found with Touchstone7 on a trip out west of Brisvegas. We were up visiting my father and decided that a little side trip around an area I haven't really been to could be fun.

And of course, there were caches.

Thanks for the cache and sorry for the late log. Sometimes life gets a little hectic Smile

14-Aug-19
A quick find on our 3 day trip in the area behind the sunshine coast. Genghicat is having a one more cache day. Just when we think it's our last cache there's one more in Moore. Moore seems like a sweet country town. We had grab one to be able to say we'd been here. It was in good condition. Tftc

Nice hide Logs go back till 2008 don’t think I’ve ever found one that old. Very tranquil little cemetery. TFTC

Doing a northern meander with some friends picking up caches on the way, this one was a very easy one to find even if we did look in the obvious place first which proved to me never count your caches before you find them.

This little cemetery proves that different areas have individuals with different mentality, it is not often that you can see so many china and silk flowers protected protected by glass domes and even the wire mesh cages to protect them intact.

Left in peace.

THanks

11-Jul-18
No more, maybe

In the area to do some caching & we noticed that the cache here had been disabled & replaced. Puzzled because we were the last finders & it was well concealed & we had returned it as we found it. We stopped by on our way past and located the cache where we found it at gz back in January (spot on co ords). We have attached a pic for CO to go back and get it should they wish, given the new hide is here. We located the new hide as per hint as it is not at listed co ords. Shame we don't get two smiles for our 2 finds here. Signed log of new hide since we were here & found it. xo
Thanks for placing & maintenance on your caches garfield69au

Visited the site today but it does indeed look like this cache is in fact "no moore!"

I couldn't find a suitable place to hide a new one with the containers I had available so will find something more appropriate and return!

Aww nooo! A DNF

We scratched around the obvious features and got our hands dirty but came away with nothing but tears. I even lifted my wife up for a look in the big stump, and spent time lifting the same rock and fence post. I did not want to let this one go but had to admit defeat. We took a walk through the cemetery as I find them fascinating but left with a tear in my eye. Thanks anyway.
