Visiting the area from Australia with albida and mtrax during our 4 week US adventure.

Check a while for this one, but alas, it beat us. Been moved I believe.

Thanks anyway for showing us around the town......

After searching several times I am wondering if the youth that cleaned the park this spring cleaned so well they tossed out the Altoids can not knowing what it was. Park looks nice but grand kids had hoped to find this one! 8D

Hit the road from Mitchell, SD for another Geocaching adventure with my honey Ubergrue. We’re on a 4-day, 1500 mile Quest primarily to get the oldest active cache in the world; Mingo. She was reading the blogs about Mingo being muggled all the time and told me: That’s it! We’re going to find Mingo before it’s gone! Next thing I know, the #1 TOTT is loaded and we’re burning rubber out of the driveway! Off to Kansas and were grabbing caches along the way. Grabbed Mingo in Kansas last Thursday then headed back into Nebraska via Colorado. Touched Wyoming briefly last night and stayed in Scotts Bluff. Now we’re headed to Hot Springs South Dakota and grabbing a few more caches along the way.

Ubergrue somehow figured out which city park and where exactly this cache was and swooped in to make the find! Took quite a bit of Geo-sense but we found it where we thought it might be. She'll explain more in her log. SL TFTC!

Day three of a 4 day geo-romp, with the primary goal of logging Mingo. AFcacher has no idea why, he just knows that he needs to load the TOTT and drive. We were able to log Mingo on day one, day two was 4 states in one day, and today’s goal is Carhenge, page 60 of the SD Delorme and Battle Mountain.

The wind isn’t blowing as hard today, but it is still going at a good clip.

I read in the logs that the coords were off.... and there sure are. I figured out where the little park is, had AFcacher park nearby, put the GPSr away and started the hunt. Didn't take me long, geosense had the cache in hand in under 5 minutes.

"they" say that if the coords get you within 20 feet, you can find it. I'd hate to try that theory in the woods or on a train. Wink

The minute we entered the park and saw how unkept it was I didn't think we would find anything. I was right.

No luck on this one. Doesn't help that the coordinates are ridiculously far off and take you into the alley.

Grabbed this after Hoppin Balls. What a great little park! The apple tree that is in full bloom smelled heavenly! And I was lucky enough to smell it for quite a while, cuz I couldn't find the cache! Finally was about to bag it and I made the grab. Well hidden! SL TFTC!!!
