We really enjoyed our visit to this cache. The lookout was excellent and the plaque very informative. We liked this idea for a multi needed to go and sit down nearby to concentrate on the calculations. Then it was off to find the cache, it wasnt quite where I was expecting but nearby and in an obvious location. We met a 16 year old Jack Russell here she was so frail but so cute.TFTC
Merging my accounts. Found this as Hoterini 22/5/11. Now tracking together with Ambers007 and merging the old finds.
In the middle of my 3-Day Launnie Trip, today i was on a mission to grab at least 12 hides up NW in the Tamar Valley from the Batman Bridge back to Launceston. Some high favorite point caches / some a bit on the old side and some already solved Puzzles plus a MultiCache from 2 weeks ago that i considered but had to take home to solve Exactly 2 weeks later, i returned to this one with it solved. I was about to approach GZ but naturally there was a Muggle pretty much on GZ, so i just waited it out nearby till he disappeared. That done i had GZ to myself which i was happy about and the cache was sighted and i was over to it in a jiffy before any Muggles emerged. Yes! So happy to find this one. Signed it at 13:04 on Wednesday 8 May 2024. A Favorite Point from me for not only this one's challenging (for my brain anyway, formula needed) but the location and Age (a Golden Oldie) and it's a Multi, My Favorite Cache type Nice container and size too.TFTMC michaels mob
[Wednesday 24 April 2024]I was amazed by the view up here but it was that plaque i wanted so i could solve the puzzle side of this Multi.I wasn't getting anywhere mentally so i took a pic of the plaque and saved it for solving with a clear mind at home back in Hobart. This one will require serious concentration for my wee blue birdy brain so next time i'm back up here in Launnie (two weeks with some luck) i will include this one in my finds Thanks for the homework that i look forward too and for the stunning views all around... LOVED it!
Scrounged around GZ for a few minuted and saw a tree had falln over and had my hopes crushed, decided to scrounge around the stairs and noticed a precariously propped up rock and found it! This was a good find TFTC
Today we explored some of the Tamar Valley region. After a few calculation errors, we came up with some sensible coordinates and the cache was soon in hand. Spectacular views. TFTC
Found with McAdies and Geo_Eddie.I am having a great time visiting Tasmania.Thank you for placing this geocache for us to find today!
Found with McAdies and Jelly_Bean14.We are on holidays in Tasmania. What a great spot and thanks for placing a cache here for us to find.
Found on our Trip to Tasmania. What a beautiful spot here.Quick find and nearly got blown away on the lookout! Thanks for placing the cache for us to find today.
Enjoyed reading the history in the area and doing the puzzle calculations. Cache found safe and sound. Thanks Michael's mob for adding to the great view from here.
My muggle friend and I worked on solving this and I was able to find the cache where our coordinates guided me to.

Day Four: Latrobe to St. Helens
Weather: perfect for geocaching.
This was way more maths than I wanted on a Saturday morning, and I’m terrible at simple arithmetic like this, but I actually got the coordinates first time around on this one. The cache was rather exposed, I have hopefully fixed that.
I feel sorry for Mr Brady, a sad series of events.
Thanks for the multi and the view michaels mob.

Over the years on various trips to Tasmania I've never had the opportunity to stop at this lookout.
Today I was in the area sightseeing and caching by myself so I made the effort.
It was well worth it too, the view from up top is quite spectacular.
There I found the info needed and after doing the calculations came up with a set of co-ords that took me straight to GZ.
The cache was found and all was ok with it.

Heading home to the north west after two hot and steamy days and nights in Launnie for Mrs rhubarbroad's birthday (read into that what you will). So plotted a forwards advance towards the Frankford Hwy, and accumulated 15 as far as Thirlstane. It took two brains (or old half brains if we're being honest) to transpose all the right numbers. But we got there and were pleased to lob right on top of the prize with not a muggle to be seen ! TFTC michaels mob

Decided to go caching on mums birthday and stumbled across this one, sat in the car for 2 hours doing maths in the end we gave up but after 2 days we went back for a look and we split up and will has found it, fun cache in good shape
We found our first multicache! We realised we got our cords wrong after looking at the hint, and then solved it again and got it right- to think we might have been searching in a random field for ages all because of one misplaced multiplication sign!
TFTC!!

Spending some more time up in the North and North West today and in between meetings and non geocaching related things also made time to search for more of the outstanding and previous dnf geocaches that we are yet to find in the area.
This is such a great look out you could never get bored of the views from here. We collected the info and solved the coordinates to this multi a few weeks ago. Today was an ideal opportunity to pop back and find, log and replace. Good hiding spot and nice sized container. Took a travel bug. TFTC

Found with CybergranV and her MuggleHubby.
This was my first visit to catch this view but not for my companions.
Mum had to bear a blue smiley on this one until a returning visit to the island where together we managed to turn that frown upside down.
TFTC michaels mob.
The well stocked cache was found clean, dry and in excellent condition. [8)]

Last time I was here I did the first part of this cache and was pleased to come back again with our family.
Son dalerious retraced my steps and calculated the final coordinates and this time we were both able to sign the log.
The scenery below has changed since our last visit with a new vineyard down there.
We loved the views from up here and were pleased to have returned.
Thankyou for bringing us here twice for this cache, so pleased to have replaced that blue sad face on my map with a happy one.

Decided to hit this one after a day of caching with nataliec1234, our last one of the day and it was definitely a good one to stop on really enjoyed the view and the puzzle at the top and the cache was a really nice size thanks for an awesome cache
out and about with 1 Lil Rafa caching in the Low Head and Georgetown area, this is the sixth find for the last day of the weekend we had in this area. West Tamar now, after stopping at the bakery we stopped her to devour the coffee and work out the maths. took to goes with a little typo, that put GZ in with the cows, re worked the maths and found GZ closer. TFTC TNLN log dry, nice views, good to see improvements at this lookout since I was younger, everyone stops here and the ladder over the fence was not a good sight.
Thanks for the multi michaels mob.
After a couple of nights staying at Low Head, RLD4963 and I were making our way back to Hobart. We decided to stop and see if we could work out this multi - it was a nice sunny clear day and the views aren't too bad from here.
It took two attempts to get the maths correct - our first attempt had us in the middle of a paddock - and we then made a quick find at GZ.
Thanks for this multi - this area has been upgraded since my last visit a few years ago and it is now clean and the viewing platform has improved visibility up and down the river - so we were glad we stopped here.

T-Tech and I are down from Brisbane for a meandering holiday around Tasmania. We flew to Melbourne where we picked up the campervan and spent a day caching there, then took Spirit of Tasmania I to Devonport. Tick that one off the bucket list!
Today we are travelling from Port Sorrell to Kelso via Launceston and Batman Bridge! The lookout caught our attention so we headed up for the walk. It sure took some hard thinking to not get confused and to make the numbers work. We liked our finals so took the walk over and quickly made the find. TFTC, and for showing us the view, michaels mob.

Another one of many on our travels through Tassie [^]
Nice puzzle (No irrational logic like "it's aliens because purple" here )
IolantheK worked through the calcs like a well trained computer and soon we had some co-ords [^]

Suscoe was enjoying our last day in Launceston.
It turned out to be a mixed day weather wise with cloud, drizzle and sunshine later on.
There was also a decent breeze as well.
Good views from along the river.

21/12/19 down visiting from Qld doing a day trip of the area. Stopped here on our way out of town but could work our how to solve this mystery. Decided we take the info and solve the problem as we drove and come back for the cache at the end of our driving trip. I love a good multi so I was a little annoyed at myself for not getting this one quicker. Once I re-read the instructions I set to work to solve the coords. I soon had a set of coords that looked accurate. On the way back to home base we stopped and found the cache and also a tassie rock which we’ll place again soon. TFTC

Saw that it was a multi but my geo-sense’s had me in an area I thought might be a good spot and a bit of fun.
Worked out the numbers and I was right there

Today was spent pottering around the Tamar valley, visiting some interesting little places and grabbing a few targeted caches along the way. The weather was fantastic after quite a bit of rain overnight. I’m glad I wasn’t in the swag!
This was a nice little multi and great views from near GZ.
Thanks michaels mob for the cache.

Took a while to plug the numbers and get some co ords, last time I must of stuffed something up as I had it in someone’s yard. On arrival I thought it would be where it was. Why did I spend 20mins solving the co ords? Oh well. Good hide and a nice spot.
Today I made the short drive out to collect 3 caches, the multi at Brady’s and 2 up at Grindelwald. Growing up around here it was great to get back and have a look around places I used to go on a regular basis.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 5000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 70 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

On a quick holiday to Tassie. This is the first holiday with my Muggle Fisher Husband without kids.
Day 1 at the Salamanca Market find a few caches along the harbour
Day 2 Tahune Air walk and Mt Wellington do a few caches there
Day 3 drive to Strahan find a few caches on the way.
Day 4 Gordon River Cruise
Day 5 drive to Launceston find a few caches We thought we would do the Mole creek cave tour and see the glow worms. Well worth the windy road trip.
Just checked in to our hotel at Launceston and off to find a few caches. Muggle Hubby actually found this one. Nice hide.
Day 6 explore Launceston then Fly home To Geelong. My Muggle Fisher Hubby promised I could find a few Caches along the way. But it wasn't allowed to take over the whole day as it was his holiday too. TFTC

In Tassie with family doing a short trip around this lovely island. We saw some amazing scenery, wildlife and visited some beautiful places while touring around in our motorhome. I took the opportunity to stop and grab any caches when we could stop. We only had a few DNF's and made some good discoveries and clever hides during the trip. We had some fun and laughs along the way.
Stopped to gather what was needed to do this little multi. After some head scratching and calculations, a likely set of co-ords emerged. Once at GZ it was a relatively quick find. Loved the view.
Thanks michaels mob for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

I had to come this way due to there being a crash on the Bass highway, pleased I did to.
I had stopped for a quick break and discovered there was a cache here so after taking in the view I worked thru the details and soon had GZ and what do you know an easy find.
Picked up a trackable that i'll move on soon.

Sounds easy, but you really have to be concentrated when calculating GZ . My result didn't show any "forbidden" digits, so I gave it a try..... Approaching the final location I first inspected the wrong side, but shortly after I was able to grab the box from its obvious hiding spot . Thanks for bringing me to this nice spot and of course

It wasn’t the substitution of numbers for numbers that had me challenged (although perhaps just a little at times) it was the mental calculation of fractions I got wrong. However thanks to the hint I knew I had to recalculate. A quick rejig and all was well. Cache in hand. A great view. Thanks for encouraging me to stop here and TFTC
I came up with strange coords and it was starting to rain, so we took a photo of the sign and were heading back to the car to rework the solution when I spotted a likely spot for a hide and presto, there it was. TFTC
Found this cache but i think we also accidentally found the old cache that used to be here its empty but its a pretty obvious geocache container a good one at that!
Added a heap of swag to this container as it was looking a little sad & empty

Hello michaels mob thank you for the cache.
Junior EeePees was in Launceston doing some refereeing at some soccer games over the weekend so EeePees asked me if I wanted to join him for the weekend and see if we could find some caches while J.E.P. was refereeing. Of course I jumped at the chance to spend the weekend with such a great mate and find caches in and around Launceston.
This was my 16th for the day and the 18th for the weekend.
Well I'm glad I had EeePees here with me to help with this multi cache today.
EeePees was write the required information down as we waited for a group of tourist and there guide to leave before starting to get the work out the cords. As we were work out the numbers a very friendly little girl and her mother came to have a look as mum looked at the views the little girl was very interested to see what we were doing and t have a talk. After the numbers were converted into cords we headed off to GZ. for some reason i headed one way and EeePees went the other. after a lengthy search EeePees had it found about 30m from where I had been looking.
I ended up with 28 caches today and 55 caches found over the weekend and one DNF.

Hello michaels mob, thanks for putting Matthew back. I've been visiting this lookout since my childhood, although that's a few generations after my convict forebears were transported to Australia on the 1st, and 2nd fleet. Seems Matthew Brady followed a little time after that. We enjoyed a well constructed multi, and whilst gathering the required information, we chatted to some visitors from Qld with their local tour-guide, and then to a young mum and child recently relocated from Utah. Shame the overcast conditions spoilt the views a bit. Thanks for a well considered hint, although we got the maths spot on first time; enjoying the plethora of brackets. Took a little while to find the cache, I'll blame trees, clouds, and shy satellites! Pity the keyrings are all but gone.
A great day out caching with AlbyDangles. We'd travelled up from Hobart last night, dropped off geoTeenRef for his duties at the junior soccer tournament at ChurchillPark at 8am this morning, decided to lunch at the Exeter Bakery, and needed to fill in some time in between, and then again after lunch, before retuning to the soccer later this afternoon.
#666 @ 1220hrs, Saturday 23rd September, 2017.
.
Footnote: One of the tourists was sure he could see a Tasmanian Devil in the rocks below; coincidentally, this is my find number 666 - the devil's number.

Once a year I spend four days in the Tamar Valley area. It is my annual girly time with muggle Mum. We eat, we shop and she watches me get the occasional geocache. Visited the place yesterday morning once the fog had cleared and took a pic of WP1 to sort out later. Admired the views and went into town to do our bit for the local economy. Solved it at afternoon tea and we cruised back up for the desired find. A few muggles and one disguised as a chook (see previous logs) but couldn't find it. Chook pretended not to understand English and was no help at all. A few more muggles were turning up so abandoned the search. Back at the B&B in Rosevears, I realised that I'd got numbers confused (didn't convert one, took it at face value). Reworked the numbers and had another set of viable numbers that fitted the hint (again). Found myself in a different wooded area and no muggles around. A quick find. Love them. Swap contents are a bit light on so left an owl key ring as intended by CO. TN SL TFTC and reminder of local history. BTW...whenever a question comes up re bushrangers, my answer is always Brady. Mainlanders have never heard of him.
This cache is at a beautiful lookout but had me going for a while. I had to wait for the muggles at WP1 who had just had a successful marriage proposal to move on. I then sat enjoying the view whilst doing the maths required. When I got to WP2 I then had a chicken to contend with! A lovely spot for a cache. TFTC
Nice multi at a great lookout.

Nicer cache and nicer facilities than the pit stop I made last night. Solved and found quickly startling some wallabies along the circuit. Tftmc
We decided to head north again with deercheetah for a couple of days caching just prior to Christmas. We must confess that even though we have been to the West Tamar area many times before, today is our first visit here but it certainly won’t be our last – what fantastic views. A multi and a GA history cache at the same location is quite a bonus. deer and aus did the sums while enjoying lunch in the BQ area and then deer and cheetah retrieved the cache. A bit of frisby thowing (very carefully) by the young ones finished off a very enjoyable hour here. Thanks michaels mob.
What wonderful views at this lovely little reserve you have brought us to. Found the info we needed and whilst having lunch worked out the co ords. A quick find was made at GZ.
Thanks Michaels mob, very enjoyable.

Had to wait for the geobub to go to sleep & a bus load of abseilers to move on before I could tackle the maths, but must have got it right as I was led straight to the cache. Only one keyring present & I didn't come prepared, so that's how it remains. Such a beautiful spot, thanks for making it even better!
We stopped here for the view, a GCA history cache and this multi. We collected all the information for 1-11 then sat down and carefully worked out all the calculations. The first few numbers came out nicely so we knew we were on track. I put the new coordinates in and realized there was an error somewhere as it would have been at least a T4 to get to my coords. Double checking, it was just my typing that was messed up not to coordinates. We soon got to GZ but struggled to find the cache until miss J had a quick look and found it immediately. I have to say its quite a nice picnic/BBQ spot at the lookout. must remember that for the next visit. TFTC
It was cold windy day that I had to sit and work out my maths, and hopefully get the right numbers and I was spot on as was the cache. Unfortunately no keyrings, I will start collecting them and add them back to the cache in the future. Thanks for giving me the run around michaels mob, it was great fun! TFTC.
So my brother and his children have joined me on a trip to Tasmania from Mount Gambier in South Australia. My niece and nephew are getting very good at this treasure hunting.
Thanks to all of the hiders for bringing us to so many fantastic places.
We wouldn't have stopped if not for the cache.

No problem in finding the cache. Cache dry and in good order. We enjoyed the view and learning about Mathew Brady. The 2 TB's listed in cache are missing. Maybe CO would like to list them as so to remove them from the cache. TFTC Dooghan
This has been the most spectacular lookout we have visited in Tassie so far. We were able to take some great photos. Transferring the info to locate the cache however tested my maths skills to the limit. Unfortunately we had to move on as we had a deadline to meet. It was only sitting in the Spirit on the way home, that I realised my mistake. Too late! I guess they won't turn the boat around and let me go back and look for it. Never mind, next time! I will have to return....
Even though I didn't find the cache I am giving it a favourite point for the awesome vista

Dropped in here last night and obtained the required numbers for the puzzle. Sat in the car park for a while trying to crunch the numbers on the phone but struggled. Times like this you wished you'd paid attention in maths classes all those years ago. Luckily the better half is a wiz with numbers and between us we worked out the coordinates when I got back home. Came back to the GZ this evening and quickly found the cache with the accurate coordinates.
Pretty awesome views especially at sunset and sunrise.

A great view from the car park and although not as good from the lookout, the boulders below it were quite spectacular. Matthew Brady sounds quite a scoundrel who's probably grinning at having a lookout named after him. After collecting the info and doing the sums (twice) we located the cache safe and dry. Thanks michaels mob.
I enjoyed the view even from the car park, and found the view from the lookout surprising with those marvellous rocks. We collected the information and The Marble did mental calculations but we noticed a number in the finals that ought not to be there. As it was raining a tad, we decided to finish reading the sign about the dastardly Brady (who now has a lookout named for him - I'm going about getting famous the wrong way, methinks!) and headed for the shelter shed to recalculate. Naturally, it was only the very final calculation that was out, and not by much, either! But with those in our GPSrs, we headed straight for GZ and The Marble found it within seconds. It's in very good shape but no TB was seen. Overall, quite enjoyable so TFTC, michaels mob. =^.^=
Quick stop off on our way up to Beaconsfield
Trying to do the maths in the head gave us the wrong numbers however a check of the clue sent us scrambling for the calculator
Second attempt proved successful
Many thanx for the cache

Travelling around Australia and now in Tasmania!
Headed out from Loira to tackle a few more caches in areas we have yet to explore.
Beautiful sunny day 19degress so it was just lovely alongside the Tamar River.
Calculated the sums then set about finding the box. Seems an animal has been a bit hungry as there was a hole in the lid We removed the whole container back to the GeoCruiser and put a new lunchbox size sistema out with new swaps for any geokids and added the logbook that someone else had placed previously.
Cache is now super shiny and ready for others to find. Great spot for a cache so pleased to keep this one going.

The cache has been extremely wet at some time. The cache is full of key rings, unfortunately they are extremely rusty.
