This was our first day of Geo Adventures. We were with a veteran group and neither of us could find this one. Sad to say but it may have been misplaced. Great spot though.
Well, this one has us beat - after 4 separate attempts, each time doing our best to avoid the hordes of muggles, we came up empty-handed. After viewing all the previous logs and looking at the photo gallery, we're pretty sure we were looking in the right spot, but alas no cache could be found. Thanks all the same for bringing us to this beautiful location - it was a real treat to see the black kites soaring above the hill. Cheers from Bindair Dundat and Princess Madelyn.
Found with Shockley and sharp eyes - unfortunately did not have a pen thanks for the cache!
Lots of muggles up here today , it
took longer to replace it than find it. Enjoyed the fresh air & the view. TFTC.

So many people around but thankfully they had no idea. PS the hint worked well. Crusher 63.
Very clever hide had to come back to put it back muggles everywhere

We were checking out the "ghosts after dark" so I decided we should look for the world too.

We came to see ghosts but we also saw the historian, several tourists, a few wallabies, the sun setting. the wind was blowing but not too bad. well worth the visit. Mum made the find we had a harder time replacing it before the show.

So, I decided to go for a drive this weekend.
Headed out from Mackay on Saturday and headed for Clermont.
Not enough so went to Charters Towers and stayed the night.
Done a few caches in Charters and then headed for Townsville.
Stayed the night and headed home on Monday.
Glad it was a long weekend.

We have been spending a week around Charters Towers and grabbing a few caches while enjoying the city and it's surrounds.
This place is muggle central on a weekend but Geohubby spotted the cache immediately and waited for the appropriate time to grab it when no one was looking. Unfortunately there was no log inside. We wondered if it blows away when folks access the cache??
We took it to the car and taped a tiny ziplock inside the container and added a new log sheet inside the bag....hopefully that will stop it disappearing.
Some very nice views from here....many thanks for bringing us here HDSpringer[^]

Day for a trip to Charters Towers to have a look at the town and to do some caching.
Did not clear CT of caches completely, realized that I would not do all the long multi caches today, on top of that I had some DNF's.
Good view from up here, took some time to learn the history.
Found the cache holder but there was no log to be found, signed a piece of paper, but I fear that this might be lost too given to the position of the hide.
Thanks for the view

2:15:00 PM. Came to Charters Towers for a day out. A busy place up here and had to out wait muggles. The better half found it and I retieved it. Signed log and returned just before next car load arrived. Loved the history lesson and the views. Thanks HDSpringer for placing this cache.
Quickly found with mile high RnC. A great spot for a cache.
Signed and returned. Log pretty full . TFTC.

Great view up here, we had a long period to enjoy it whilst waiting out several muggles. once on the hunt we got lucky fairly quickly, then had a wait to return it. TFTC
Took the 6 geoferals up the hill to find 2 geo's up there. After a quick find with the 'towers hill' one we looked for this one it proved Little bit tricky at first but just had to get down to it. Good find by geomum while geoferals played on the seats.
Good hide, at the beginning it looked daunting, but the clue made sense and cache was soon in hand. TFTC!
Young geokid found this one. Helps to be close to the ground!

Aaah! There it is.
On holidays from Canberra. Took me a while to understand the hint but once my brain was engaged, this was a quick find. Hopefully, next time I can be here for the movie.

I was granted leave to stop in CT for a couple of caches on the way home and thought the historical aspect of these tower caches would make it more interesting for Mum and Dad. They enjoyed reading the info, we enjoyed finding the cache, and great views on a beautiful day. Popular place though! Thanks HDSpringer
Found on the North Qld leg of our Round Aust Trip, see blog - mrlocks.tumblr.com
On a big drive to Townsville today and Stopped for lunch in town and noticed cable to caravan had broken off and was now just a bunch of wires hanging on the ground.
Well that put an end to our travels for today, we have booked into a workshop for Monday to get it fixed so we will be here in town caching all weekend

That 's very clever cache hide! Thanks! We soaked up the views while we waited for muggles to leave. Luckily it didn't take us long ( this time) and it was back in place before the next wave of muggles sightseeing. TFTC
Found OK. Clever hide. Lots of muggles around
Dropped some TB's in for a visit

A look around gave us the right idea but Mr M checked and didn't find it. Mrs M followed suit and found it straight away. It's usually the other way around!! Clever hide, thanx. Great sunset views as well.
Parked the caravan at the Burdekin River, to cache around Charters Towers.
Cache was placed to give us a great view of this part of the world.
Thanks for the cache, HDSpringer.

North Qld 2013. Day 7 was Clemont to Charters Towers. With only one muggle couple reading the signs I was able to wander around and poke in peace. It was not hard to find so I did not have to be very creative. Thanks.

Found at 1:37 PM GAFF1. We were wondering about that screen - nothing was showing even though there were about 6 people sitting in front of it waiting for something to happen [|)]
We were so relieved to have found the cache in the second place we looked as there were quite a few people up here. The view was kinda flat, so it was hard to take a photo to show em back home what CT looked like from above!
Thanks HDSpringer.

Nice views and, going by the number of muggles present, we are not the only ones. A fortunate break and we made the fond. Not sure, with that sort of container, that it's in the right place but we put it back there anyway.
Thanks for bringing us here.

1410 - While exploring the history and sights of CT, we found this treasure. way too many muggles for comfort. very nifty hide. took longer with all the challenges walking around. excellent hide and all o.k.. T4TC.
My drive up the hill to find this and another nearby cache up the hill, turned into a walk up the hill when I saw all the cars lined up at the entance gate.
The thought of all those disapproving stares from the locals walking and even cycling up the hill while I drove past was too much to think about [:o]
So off on foot I marched
Damn glad I did !!
There is so much more to see and enjoy.
The fresh air to breathe and the kilojoules to burn [^]
And on top of The World, a feeling of achievement, that those who drive shall never experience
BUT ....
THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH !!! [:o]
But it is such a perfect place to hide...a cache.
And if you search enough,
Together we can take the world apart...my love [:X]
TFTC and history and exercise and views [^]

On a trip down memory lane, we both went to boarding school here too long ago to admit but now in another life collecting smilies is more fun. We had to wait for several muggles enjoying the view to leave before Lady Avago could grab this one,
Thanks HDSpringer

Sneaky use of this cache type. The log nearly blew away today when we retrieved it. Think you for brining is to this very interesting location.

A quick weekend trip to put some miles on one of my lease cars was in order. Blackwater, Clermont, Charters Towers, almost to Townsville, Ayr, Mackay, Nebo, Dingo, and home again. About 1500km over 2 days.
My last caching visit to CT was about 5 or 6 years ago. Back then, I think there was only 1 or 2 in town. One was up here. How times have changed, Lots in town these days.
Muggles were an issue today, but I managed to evade them, make the grab, sign and replace. Found at 1555 hrs.
Cheers

Muggles are a problem but mostly they don't stay long especially if it's windy.
Our second visit and the third feel in the right spot. Eventually H, as is usually the case with difficult ones, found it. Can't believe it's been 4 months since the last signing.

TFTC HDSpringer. Found on our day trip out to Charters Towers. Really enjoyed this one. I went in for the cache at GZ by sitting down and scribbling some notes until all the muggles were up the other end of the lookout. I then went in and made my grab which took some skill and alot of planning. Back at the car SL and then put together our RTC plan. I wont tell you about Bob's diversional plan but we opted for the camera happy couple plan instead. Great views of the vast open space that we call Australian bushland. I am always in awe of just how beautiful our country is.
This was our 13th cache in our caching run today - and we found it at around 13:39.
(So this is our 4734th total find.)
A really nice quick find, once the muggles had departed.
Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Thanks HDSpringer for the hunt today.

Looking down on this lovely villageit is hard to imagine the buzzling city it had once been. The view was great today, we even spotted some rock wallabies. Thanks to the hint the cache was quickly detected together with Bambi&Klopfer.

# 253 Despite reading the part about the cache not being under the deck, we spent at least an hour searching the rocks around the structure. We were very near quitting when Champs spotted the feature mentioned in the hint. Until that point, I was convinced that the rocks standing upright fit the bill.
Once the feature was located, the cache was found quickly. Luckily, all the muggles were down the other end of the deck so we hide behind and signed the log.
