This being such an old and historic Cemetery, we had this hide on our radar for a long time, particularly because of the most unusual tin headstone.
Although it has been archived just recently, the log and container were still fine, and we wanted this one at least for our own records.
Thanks HDSpringer

Incredible spot. We always make time for a cemetery cache. Thankyou for bringing us here.
Interesting location
Before the end of the year I wanted to get some more caches done to boost my stats a little more and to finally get out there and grab some boxes after having had a bit of a break the last two months. In fact, I would like to clear most of the caches I have not found so far in Charters Towers today. Thank you very much HDSpringer for placing this cache. All caches around Charters Towers have a nice little rural spin to them and I really enjoyed driving around and seeing a lot of nice things today. Thanks for the cache and showing this area.

I love old cemeteries and it’s good to see a bit of care going into this one. We didn’t even meet to enter the cemetery itself. A nice quick find.

Spending a few days in Charters Towers. After breakfast, I decided to head out to Ravenswood. On the way, I detoured to this cache. It was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
Found on our way to Townsville after 3 days of caching in CT (need to come back as didn’t have time to find all caches in CT)
First for the day, love cemetry caching, thr older the better. Thanks for placing it here. Tftc
It's not anymore in orange colour.
We have arrived in Charters Towers. Beautiful winter weather, lots of caches as we weren't cacher yet during our visit in 2014.
Sorry for the generic text.

Staying nearby and this was a straight forward hide. Thanks for hiding and giving us a reason to explore.
A quick stop on the way home from Charters Towers caching. We have drive. Past this and didn’t e en notice the cemetery here. Such a peaceful location with lists of history. TFTC
What a lovely spot. Thanks for bringing me here H D Springer. I was unaware that this place existed
Another older cache on the way to CT. I really enjoyed finding this one. I think that this is the prettiest cemetery that I have ever laid my eyes on.
On our one year trip through Australia we are now in Ravenswood, Charter Towers and then to Emerald. On the way we found several Caches. Sorry for the same text. Every Cache was great and make us a pleasure.

Caching in and around Charters Towers and surrounds we picked up a few caches and this was one of them.
Cache and contents were in good condition.

Hi there HDSpringer. While on holiday in Queensland we found this cache after a short search - and the container and log are in good condition. TN, LN, SL. Thanks to HDSpringer for this cache - our find 7266
Despite driving past here numerous times, have never stopped to learn more about the Pioneer history of the area. Despite some lives ending way too soon, this area sits quietly on the hilltop.
A brief search and had the cache in hand. Returned to its hiding place and then back into the car for the trip back to Townsville. Container too small for a drop so TB visit. TFTC SL TNLN

Even the traffic noise can’t break their peace.
Roadworks happening at present. Made it trickier but i guess that’s why i parked where i did

With Fangsoki and Crew153 in the mighty Canyonero, we hit the outback in search of the oldest and finest Queensland has to offer. 6000+ kms in 8 days - an epic journey. Day six and we are here. Road works right here made the parking aspect a little trickier than expected, but once off the road all was fine. Took us a few moments to find what is not orange anymore, although in one of the many obvious spots. Always love a good old cemetery, and caching never disappoints if one is available.
Thanks HDSpringer for entertaining me at this location.

When Fangsoki and Pprime (P') mentioned about a road trip to get the old caches in outback Queensland I jumped at the chance to see some of our great country. The 8 day tour covered some 6,000km and a day on a boat in the Whitsundays. I wouldn't have missed the adventure for the world.
There were roadwork close to the area but we managed to find a pull off spot that took us close to the cache and out of sight of the workmen. It took a few minutes to locate the cache. Pity we didn't have time to check out the graveyard.

Pprime, Crew 153, and I were heading to the Coast. We had this one on our list because it is an older cache.
We overshot the actual entrance and had to make a bit of an "unholy maneuver" at some nearby roadworks to back tracks ourselves.
This took us a considerable amount of time to spot. I had looked at GZ from one direction but was not able to spot it. However, Pprime spotted the beast. It was in good condition. A nice peaceful graveyard and a good excuse to stop. TFTC HDSpringer

Very old little cemetery which is being restored. Times must have been hard last century judging by the many young children who have been laid to rest here. Cache was a nice quick find. TFTC
Stopped off for this cache and discovered history also were discovered by local historian who was very enlightening

MummyPenny found this little cache safely tucked away. Apparently black is the new orange. One of the local pioneer descendants, who plans on resting here one day, pulled up and shared several interesting snippets of local history with us. Thanks HDSpringer.
Our travels continued today towards Charters Towers and Townsville. We just picked up a selection of caches along the route. Each one had its log signed and was replaced in position before we moved on.
This cache was well tucked away with local camo, but was still an easy find. Thank you to HDSpringer for putting this cache into play.

Happy to found this one...The cache is A1 . Favorite point for the location. At last one more smile in Australia ! Thanks for the discovery and greetings from Montréal Québec
I do like visiting cemeteries and learning a little about the people from the area but it us sad to see some have fallen into disrepair over the years.
Staying a few nights in Charters Towers this morning we visited the library to learn about the archives section to hopefully trace some family history here from the Pioneer days.
Lunch at the stock exchange cafe then off to explore some more of town.
Loving the history in this town.

TFTC. We were camped at Macrossan Park and spent an hour exploring the local caches. This was a quick find in the cemetery. Glad to see that there is some maintenance of the place happening.
Cleaning up a couple of more caches before leaving town, particularly multi's as they are with more tokens in the Geocaching Pirate hunt this week we then headed towards Ayr caching our way along.
It's a shame when you see palces like this falling into disrepair but the Lion's club did do their bit in 2012 and did a lot of work around the area but again it looks like the funding has ran out for that as the area isn't looking quite as good as it could. It's still a great place to pick up some history of the area and also to hide a cache which fortunately didn't take too long to find and our name is now in the log.
Thanks HDSpringer for the cache and for bringing us here.

Nice old cemetery. We pulled in for a look before we realised there was a cache here! Container is not orange its a grey film canister. TFTC
Walked to this one from the Duck Caravan Park. Not a great walk along the highway but good exercise. Tftc
Loved visiting this little cemetery, passed it many a time and didn't even know it existed. Found by geokid's eagle eyes. TFTC
George spotted it quickly and then we visited the cemetery. The Cemetery is in excellent shape. The fence appears to have recently been painted white. The grass is mowed throughout. There is a new paved walk to a shelter showing the names and date of death for all the residents on record. - Zeke & George of Hot Springs, Arkansas, USA
Late log
just not enough Mc Donalds around these parts.

Good to see the site is getting some TLC now. We checked what we thought were obvious possibilities only to find it was right in front of us. TFTC.
GeoTM checked out the sign and the graves while GeoAJ found the cache. So sad to see how many little ones were lost in the early days. Visiting cemeteries is a great way to learn about history. TFTC
An unusual cemetery. Quite well maintained but a lack of marked graves makes it look all wrong. Thanks, a quick find made here of a film cannister and not the orange container we were expecting.
With Solving4X. Fascinating bit of history here. Container is not orange, but is is small. TFTC!
Today we arrived into Charters Towers
A variety of caches found as we geocached around the area.

love these old places, not much here to see though. a lot of old graves with no headstones but it was good to see that the names were in the rotunda.
found a cache, it wasn't orange, it did have a log book so we signed and moved back to camp.

We have been spending a week in Charters Towers and grabbing some caches while we tour around.
Today we decided to cache around Dotswood so we found this on the way. We had a quick look around the markets at the Burdekin Duck Roadhouse/Caravan Park too
The signage at GZ is very good but the poor cemetery looks like it could do with a bit more TLC
Thanks for bringing us here HDSpringer[^]
