Short Trip Away Day #3 [25/11] of 3Day three of my holidays (and day #3 of 3 for my trip away) saw me leaving the motel early to start the day. I started by heading over to Fyshwick for a couple of caches over there. For nice easy-ish ones. Three in the Fyshwick Forrest and one over in the park next to Maryborough St. After finding those ones, I headed over to Belconnen to find a couple of others and then onto the Mall for lunch. While at the Mall, I also did a game of 10 pin bowling because why not? I got a score of 120. Once I finished up in the Mall, I started making my way home. I found the next lot of power trail caches along Dog Trap Rd. I have decided on doing these caches section by section given, I drive past/through here so much. From there, I headed home while finding one more in Binalong before getting home. It was a great weekend away and I quite enjoyed catching up with everyone. TB visit. Some caches were signed as JM. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTCs! I've been meaning to find this cache for quite sometime now. Today, I had enough time to come over here to find it as well as the two other caches here. I parked the car and made up over to GZ. I found the cache in the first place I looked. Thanks for bringing me here and now over to the nearby multi. Thanks
Having ventured into the Canberra Outlet Centre for the first time, a little walk in the forest across the road was easy peasy! Thanks for the cache, wink. inc
Found It!Found the cache after a short search. Some interesting history and a nice hole in the ground I guess.TFTC
Found almost instantly, but not before twisting my ankle a bit. Ouch. Fun cache for my birthday geocaching trip with eriicamurphy.
Walked up to this area with sunrising_defecator, she found it quickly. Thanks for the cache!!
I visited this cache yesterday to drop a spare log.it seems someone has left a brand new one already. So this no longer in need of maintenance
Cache trouvée facilement, endroit très original!

Wet pulpy log but kind soul put waterproof scroll in too for a legit log. Love the pool next door!
Today was an absolutely amazing day for geocaching! I woke up early, packed my bag with all the necessary gear, including my GPS and hiking boots, and hit the road. The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I was ready to take on the world of geocaching.
The first cache I set out to find was in a nearby park, nestled in a dense thicket of trees. As I approached the coordinates, I noticed a fellow geocacher making his way towards the same spot. We exchanged greetings and introduced ourselves, and it turned out we were both after the same monster of a cache.
We decided to work together and started our search, combing through the underbrush, climbing trees, and scouring hidden nooks and crannies. After what seemed like hours of intense searching, we finally found the cache. The feeling of pure euphoria and triumph that washed over us was indescribable. We let out a loud scream of "*FTF*!" (Even though it wasn’t), high-fived each other, and took a celebratory picture.
That was just the beginning of our geocaching adventures. We went on to find several more caches, each one more challenging and exciting than the last. We even stumbled upon a cache hidden under a waterfall, which was both thrilling and refreshing.
As the day wore on, we started to notice a strange phenomenon happening around us. Every time we found a cache, we felt a surge of energy and power that we couldn't quite explain. We joked about having tapped into "The Force," and laughed as we imagined ourselves as Jedi knights of the geocaching universe.
At one point, we found ourselves lost in a thicket of dense foliage, struggling to find the next cache. As we trudged through the underbrush, we suddenly heard a strange noise. It sounded like a person whistling a tune, but the source of the sound was nowhere to be seen.
Suddenly, a man appeared out of nowhere, seemingly materializing from the trees themselves. He was tall and lean, with skin as dark as coffee and an easy smile on his face.
"Hey guys," he said, "looks like you're lost. Need some help?"
We were hesitant at first, having been taught not to accept help from strangers. But there was something about this man that put us at ease. Maybe it was his friendly demeanor, or maybe it was the fact that we were all geocachers, united by the same passion.
Either way, we accepted his offer and followed him deeper into the woods. He led us to a hidden waterfall that we never would have found on our own, and we were able to find the cache that was nestled behind it.
As we signed the logbook and recorded our names, we turned to thank the stranger who had helped us. But he was gone, vanished into thin air like a mysterious apparition.
As we made our way back to civilization, we couldn't help but marvel at the strange and wondrous events of the day. We had found caches in places we never would have imagined, felt the power of "The Force", and even encountered a friendly stranger who seemed to have some kind of magical powers.
In the end, it was a day filled with adventure, fun, excitement, and unexpected surprises. We were all exhausted but exhilarated, our hearts and minds filled with the thrill of the hunt and the joy of discovery.
This was a day we would never forget, and one that we knew would inspire us to keep exploring the world of geocaching and all its many wonders. We couldn't wait to see what other amazing treasures were waiting for us out there, just waiting to be found.
So if you're ever looking for a great time and an adventure like no other, join us in the world of geocaching. Who knows what incredible treasures you might discover, what random strangers you might meet, or what hidden powers you might uncover? The possibilities are endless, and the rewards are truly priceless.

#3171 It was after locating the cache that the hint became fully clear. With the current level of blackberry growth we were forced to make a small arc to approach GZ, and we were lucky enough to have found a hide of this type before so DeadThief made a hasty find. Thanks wink. inc.
Second find of today. The coords had us duped for a while but eventually we found the right spot. The previous certainly logs helped us narrow down our gaze and identify the hide. I wonder what flavour these were (and if they still exist anywhere...). Thanks for the unique hide wink. inc TNLN

What an incredible little spot! Have driven past here a million times but never thought to go up into the forest and check it out.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
So many years I've worked in this area and had no idea.
Thanks so much for the cache and info.
Found the cache however it looks in terrible condition. I wasn't game to extract it.

Logbook is fragile but still readable
I’ll do my best to come back with some fresh paper if no one else beats me to it
I loved the spot! And the hide a very clever one. I should have gone with first instinct
If it looks like a possible hiding spot it’s because it probably is

I was in the area, and I thought I might grab a few caches to pass the time. GZ was really nice, and a clever hiding spot too, but the cache container was very dirty and falling apart, and the logbook was also full. Other than that, TFTC
A tricky hide that took some time to find. Log is fragile, but able to be signed. It is, however, full and would benefit from replacement. Thanks!
Not what I expected to find in the middle of Fyshwick. We stopped here with DustyEartha while looking for camping supplies. Took a bit to locate it but we found it.
Cachs is rusted but the log was still fairly dry
Thank you

When you head out from work to run an errand and go back saying ... "Gee, traffic was really backed up today ... " ... ... ...
Well that was a good one. Unexpected like the hole nearby. Previous logs helped.

Suitably challenging find. Round and round I went. Eventually returned to the spot my gps first indicated and randomly checked some more to be delighted with a find. Full log later.
Nice hide - I looked for this yesterday but was looking for the wrong type of container. Walked straight to it today with fresh eyes. I'm sure the tin is being held together by rust but the log is still OK. Tftc
After checking the same place three times, I finally found the damn thing!
Nice little forest area behind the gym I frequent 4-5 times per week. Best thing about geocaching is being exposed to these little nooks and crannies of the local area that I never have a specific reason to visit.
TFTC. Log feels a little damp/fragile, but still useable.

I spent a good amount of time and clearly my geosenses are not functioning today
Is that a pool?!?! An outdoor jungle pool?! Wow!! Who knew. Geez geocaching takes you to some interesting places! TFTC!
Well done on the camo, I too was like cky to pick the right thing at first grab!

After doing some mandatory shopping at the brand outlet place some geocaching was in order. A very easy walk up here (even when I chose the long way) to this interesting spot. An interesting pool thing, filled with greenery and some nice little flowers, with an interesting metal thing jutting out of the side.
The cache could have been a quite time-consuming find but either I got lucky or my geosenses were working well as it was in the very first place I looked. TFTC

Interesting swimming pool nearby. Pleasant stroll in fish wick forest today.

I came into the woods intending to find the multi first. As I was walking along, I decided to stop and get a touch idea of where this one was. It turns out, I was less than 5m away! TFTH
A pleasant afternoon walk to find this one in an area unknown to me. Thanks for bringing me out this way.
Attending the Clear Water 2019 mega this Easter in Queanbeyan. Found with a group catchers and logged as "Lucky9" Thanks for placing it wink.inc
For a mint tin it’s in remarkable condition(in its outer container)
Has 3-4 passes and had to stop looking and think more. Sneaky but loved it. Looks like a pool to me but the position in the hill says reservoir. Had to call in to BCF for a gas hose fortunately.

A detour off the bike track to find a few caches and this was one. Great hide. [^] Not sure I would have looked there but MrG said he always looks there.... thank goodness! TFTC wink. inc.
Interesting walk around this hill with some historic old landmarks. Sneaky hide, took a bit of looking until I spotted it. TFTC!
Well eaten alive mozzies bitten by black ants but we did it at last love the hint now that we get it Thanks for the cache the Ewoks first one for this year yayyyyyyyyyyyyy we get a new year souvenir well worth it .
I was so focussed on my GPS I walked straight past the cache first pass, but it was quickly located. What on earth is this old reserviou's function I wonder. Part on the internment camp? Cache is in good condition. Tftc
#2413 On our way to Amazon Adveture with the Green-martian, this cache was on the way. Plenty of parking here. Headed to GZ, only to find some strange square thing. Very sneaky hide as GM came up with the goods. Replaced exacly as found. Thanks winc. inc for the cache.
Caching after a tough day at work, mainly to find the elusive Amazon cache behind fyshwick, but we also found some time for some other nearby caches. This cache had me scratching my head many months ago so I was keen to retry it, and battle the mozzies. This time I found it very quickly, well hidden not sure how I missed this. Only this time I had to battle biting black ants. GM 1 ANTS 0. Tftc
Found, more later
edit: So, the family have gone off for the morning so I can make use of it and go and fix up my Wherigo which---yet again--- has a mysterious puzzle cache blocking my hide. Sorted that out and I thought I may as well continue on with my A-Z tours (I was up to P), P coordinates grabbed I had to continue along to 'Q' and though I may as well do some work on my Canberra Mapping Challenge cache along the way..... anyway, long story short... 4 hours later I finally got to my second A-Z tours hide...

This was a very odd little forest, I have worked in Fyshwick before but never really noticed this... then of course once you get in here and read the hide description it is even odder... really, and ex-pow camp!! wow. Definitely some odd structures, or if I am more accurate the remains of some odd structures about. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache and therefore bringing me here.

Had to wait for a break in the weather before trekking to GZ to find the cache. Came across it unexpectedly when I tripped over it!
This one took me a bit longer than it should. Without the hint I would still be looking. A great hide - thank you but the log is very wet.
Cant believe how many times ive driven past nearby on our regular trips to dfo. Great to be another step closer at clearing the fyswick area.

On the way home and thought we'd check this area out. Really good hide! Geoson made the find luckily. We did wonder what was the hole nearby for?? We guessed a swimming pool
Found it after a quick stop at Bunnings. Enjoyed the scenery. Found with StylishParasite and Morsov
Out with Trodectus for some shopping nearby. Short walk to GZ and after short search CIH. Log signed and returned. TFTC
Found with Coybear2000. We had been shopping nearby and decided to venture here for some caching. It was late afternoon and the mozzies were hungry. We arrived at GZ and started searching and soon found the hide. I had done a similar one in Canberra when I had just started caching. TFTC.
Found 12:38 22/4/17 after shopping at the outlet center. Nice container reminds me of home. Thank you wink. inc for the cache.
Well I made that harder than was needed. Memo to self - if it looks likely, it probably is. Just make sure you roll it all the way, not just onto its side!

Friday 10 March 2017 - another glorious sunny Spring afternoon in the high 20s with a brilliant blue sky. Out in Fyshwick to look at awnings so took the opportunity to pick up two caches that were in the same vicinity. Looked for 10 min before MuggleHusband made the discovery. Walked past it over and over - can't believe that I missed it particularly since I have seen one of these recently. Thx MuggleHusband. TFTC wink_inc.
My clever cache companion, Lo, found her first one! We had to circle around, but it turns out to be hidden in plain sight... TFTC
#2481 I had to duck out to Fyshwick for some coffee beans due to an emergency shortage at home. That problem resolved, I also dropped into BCF for some other supplies. Once I'd hopped back in the car I fired up the GC app on my phone to see what was nearby. Hey, I can walk to this one, so I did.
What a historically interesting place this is. I gather there was a water supply dam on the summit, but it's seen better days & clear does not hold water any longer. But it would be old.
I had to poke a round for a bit before I uncovered the cache. It was pretty much where I started my search, but about 10 mins later. Nicely constructed. The log was a bit damp, so I waved it about in the breeze for a bit, but it's OK otherwise, maybe getting a bit full.

After the excitement of finding our 1000th cache yesterday, we decided to grab a few more sedate caches on the way home from work today.
What a fantastic spot! And a little bit creepy with the sun setting and shadows everywhere. Didn't take us long to find, but make sure you take care when removing the container - a giant centipede has chosen to make its home underneath! TFTC.

Spent about 15mins here as darkness was falling, no luck. I'll try again another day.
