While the regrowth looked quite green, I could see evidence of fire around GZ. Along with past 2 logs, assuming cache may have been destroyed. CO may need to cheek.
With the recent fire and with the cemetery workers looking on, didn't spend a lot of time here. Visited Ikey, may he rest in peace in this idyllic location.
Fairly sure I was in the right spot but a recent fire at site which was still smoldering may have destroyed the cache.
Tftc. Our last find of the day on our day trip to this area. Took a toy frog, left a Simpson's poker chip, signed log and headed home.
On the trip from Newcastle to Nelson Bay, we could find some containers and log. This cache was also there and he could be found well. [^]
Many thanks to the owner for the care of the containers of the Moorhelmi's from Germany.

A quick find on the way back home. Really liked the personal touch to this cache. TFTC
It was a quick find after refueling across the road but a long long time leaving. TFTC SL
Found while out here buying a used car. We found a nice variety of caches today, mostly nice bush walks or wonderful views. I was mostly trying to clear my fifty kilometer radius from home. I ended up finding nineteen of the twenty one I wanted to find. And only one DNF.
After BillHill531 left for his appointment I decided to find a couple on my own. This was my last find for the day. A short walk and a quick search in the wrong spot, before making the find. Found a TB I could not leave behind.
Thanks for the quick cache!

Quick find after an investigation of who lies where and when. RIP.

A nice easy find on the way to Nelson Bay to visit Great Nana!! Geodude (5) spotted this one as it was quite exposed. Found, signed & swapped. Covered with a bit of leaf litter so it wasnt so exposed to passing muggles. TFTC ?
Found this one easy enough. Liked the photosame of I key, may he Rest In Peace.

Found easily and all dry inside despite the rain yesterday. Said hello to him for you - tftc
Took a little time but got on the right "track" eventually and then was quick.
Couple in cemetery kept coming for water but they did not seem to be phased by me.
Picked up travel bug to move him on.
Did not leave one of mine as it is 20 days since last log. Left a little something. Will find a cache with a bit more activity happening.
I am Mum of serving Army personnel so have have a connection with Grub Fred.
Rest in Peace Ikey.
TFTC Grub Fred.

Found with 'the neighbs'. Being Mother's Day, we had to move quickly as the cemetery was getting plenty of visitors . TFTC.
A quick find with 'sesblocker'. The cemetery was a hype of activity on Mother's Day. Left TB. TFTC
On our way to the beach and dunes today, dropped in on Ikey today. Cache was found after a short search, we bush bashed more than needed in the end, as usual! A nice sized container, everything dry. We stopped at the wall on the way out and found Isaac, said g'day and left.
Thanks Grub Fred
Thanks Grub Fred
We went for a drive to Anna Bay to do some caches today, TFTC!

I had been GC'ing up in Nelson Bay area, when I spotted this on the map and decided to stop and pay my respects.
There was a travel bug in the cache which had not been logged (Colorleo - TB2Y9TD. I have grabbed this from Tripoli and will relocate it some where in the UK.
TFTC.
Great pictures of Ikey.

Catching up on some caching I did back in early 2016 as a relative newbie. Problem was I haven't logged online because of using too many apps to cache with a problem I have recently rectified.
We did some surrounding caches after we finished the Mount tomaree power trail which to date is still one of the best trails I've done. Such a beautiful place and look forward to returning the Bay later this year as Mount tomaree is still one of my favourite places to visit in nsw

Ikey sounds like a great bloke. When we stopped here for the cache we tried to picture him; nice final resting place.

my uncle, omi and opa (my grandparents) are buried here but i'm not someone who visits graves as I believe those who have died are in our hearts not here in the ground, so I haven't been on previous visits to the bay. I enjoyed many memories of these lovely from coming here and found some flowers for their graves. Thank you for sharing your memories which has given me the opportunity to relive some of mine. cheers, all was well at the cache today Grub Fred.
FootyFanatics and I were on our way to Salt Ash and beyond to clear some caches in a previously unvisited area. I hadn't done this one before. Parked close by and had cache in hand. TFTC
We have travelled up from Sydney to Port Stephens, camping at the Lemon Tree Passage Big4 Koala Shores caravan park, for our annual summer holiday. Today we were targeting caches around Nelson Bay and Corlette, and a couple of extras enroute. This was the 10th, and last, find of the day, 21st find of the holiday.
After finding "Arthur's Anchorage" we visited the Salamander Bay shopping centre and then headed off back to our campsite, but stopped off enroute for this one. Parked the geomobile at the entrance to the cemetery and strolled down to the ashes wall to pay our respects to Ikey.
After finding Ikey's final resting place, and then also reading a few of the other memorial plaques, we headed back up through the cemetery to GZ. And a quick search of the scrub soon had CIH. It was nice to see a picture of Ikey inside the cache container, in WWII Airforce uniform, for us to put a face to the name. It was a nice touch. TNLNSL and then replaced as found.
Thanks Grub Fred for introducing us to your beloved father-in-law, and for the cache.

A quick park & grab while heading home after a long weekend stay at Shoal Bay with the geo-widow and family/friends. I enjoy exploring cemeteries in order to locate a cache, but here that wasn't necessary. Thanks for the cache Grub Fred and for including some photographic memories in it ... which added some meaning to the find.
When it comes the there locations Salem always wants a stop. There was also fuel and air we needed so the muggles begun that while we explored and found a cache. Paid our dues and then begun the long trip home. TFTC
I always stop at cemeteries. I like walking around, reading who when and why. Pay my respects and well grab a cache as well in this instance. TFTC.
Left Nelson Bay early morning, well, before 10 am, where we have been during the long weekend and headed towards a few more caches before entering the queues on M1 towards Sydney.
A quick stop, a quick search, a quick found - exactly what we needed this day when temperature was close to +40.

Nice cache. We took a walk around the graveyard, a very peaceful place on a sunny day. Like the location of the cache, coordinates are spot on. Tftc
Quick find with tassie expat while up from Phillip Island. Now on our way back to the airport. Tftc
Thankfully we had a hint as our gps units were out. frmen1 was the lucky spotter. TNLN TFTC
Found Isacc , he would have a lot to argue about today between Abbot , Shorten and the Greens. Easy find TFTC
Headed back to the Nelson Bay area, to pick up a few more caches.
We visited lots of lovely beaches & bushland, where we found a good variety of hides.
Our last one for the day, cache was found in the second place we looked.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Grub Fred, for us and others to find.
