Found by Mary & David at 1430. Not much fun in the pouring rain, but could still appreciate the great location. Filled in the log under an umbrella but no exchanges made, as our rain gear was inadequate and we were getting soaked and wanted to be quick. Back in the car we wound up the heater to dry out and went looking for a late lunch. Lucked out, as the weather meant few tourists in the park, and the cafeteria was closed!

Mary & David thought we might have had just enough time to do this one on our way in to Sydney after passing on Mermaid because of the lengthy walk involved and our tight schedule. For future reference please note the gates shut at 4pm from April to September. We were 10 minutes too late. Maybe another day.

I nearly opted for the short highway approach to this cache, but in the end I parted with the cash and drove as close as I could. Just a short stroll up the garden path and BINGO.
Exchanged the tape measure for a puzzle and party poppers.
The highlight of the afternoon was seeing my first Wollemi Pine. These trees are thousands of years old and only grow in a secret location somewhere in the Wollemi National Park. They are a spectacular tree up close.

Yes a very nice park indeed, but beware the killer mozzies. Anyone doing this cache would be well advised to put on the repellant *before* approaching the cache. I nearly got eaten alive. A good cache from Fast Action Response Team, keep them coming. [^]
[br]Swapped in a sunglass/GPS case & some Chaoticas for a cake of soap. Enjoyed a nice lunch at the cafe and said hello to the Wollemi Pine.

Snifter and I enjoyed a nice dinner at the Kiosk after finding this one. Mmmmmmm...Ice Cream We were then pleasantly surprised to find that our entry fee was actually refunded as part of the cost of lunch. We love to see wildlife of all sorts on cache hunts and during this hunt we met a very stubborn fella playing chicken on the road. The bunny holes at the cache area were intersting too. It would be interesting to be here at night. Exchanged a cap for some camping size detergent and chucked in an Angry Ant and another item I can't remember but it's in the log. Watch for the prickles. Good one FARTs.

Nice place.
Found the co-ords were pretty close, I got 056 and 592
Coverage is lousy though, get a fix in the open area and take a bearing.

Took space blanket, left coax cable.

Avoided the entry fee by being late enough in the day. Found the rabbit in the bush after wandering for a while. We found the cache at .062 and .597 but the scrub cover made for some inaccurate readings so its worth persisting.

Some of the Gemonkeys also live close by.
At 5pm we were the only human inhabitants of the entire park.

Enjoyed flying our kite at shoulder height. Cool

This cache was made for Tangles, close to home, we are members of the area where it is hidden allowing after hours access and the name relates to another interest of ours. We found the cache at 7:30am it was a great way to spend a Sunday morning. The area is a nice place to go especially now in spring, the flowers are divine so take a camera with you. Great first cache by Fast Action Response Team.
