#6275Travelling from Casino to Tweed Heads today and grabbing some caches as we went. This was one of them. Thanks for the geofun.
Started on the rail trail at Bentley. A nice 42km ride. Stops for coffee and cake, as well as lunch. Surprisingly I found every cache I looked for today. 18 caches and two ALs. On my last visit here it was really really wet. I may have not wanted to do the swim leg to get to GZ here. Today it was a long hunt having started just shy of the right spot and completing a full circuit to get back to GZ. [:o)]
Found with gamboofaty. Don't give up you will find it eventually just like we did just watch out for them farmers friends
With the motorhome into the countryside of NSW.Our destination was a cycle tour along the new Northern Rivers Rail Trail. We parked our motorhome in Bentley Car Park and then cycled along the Northern Rivers Rail Trail to Casino and back. On the way we had a lot of fun with the interesting signs, the great nature, the adventure caches and all the other caches.Afterwards we searched for many more caches in Casino. Thanks to all owners for showing us the interesting locationssayTeam sissifalke
Found the GZ readilySpotted the cache in its spotWas a bit of a challenge to retrieveHad to improvise a retrieval tool.Still removing cobbler's pegs from the dog!!
Needed one for the date. Daylight saving means I can be here at 6pm 8n full daylight. Recently mown so a very comfortable approach. Easy find. TFTC
Went the long way before figuring out where it actually was. Hint, don't go through the scrub.
While staying in Casino for a few days with my geodog Scruffy , we just had to get out and find a few caches in this beautiful country town ...All Good .. TFTC ..
Cache is temporarily out of action. Will replace 2nd week of July when I am back from Tasmania.
Ive found this before, but i brought a friend here to find. The container is no longer waterproof and the log is damaged. Needs maintenance.
I was in Casino for the day with Ravenclaw2480 and my sister, so we decided to grab the few caches in this area. We went on the golf course side at first, but got to the right spot soon enough. I spotted the cache and my sister retrieved it for us. Thanks for the cache!
I went for a drive to Casino today with my daughters. Ti.e for a spot of caching to earn a souvenir. It's always interesting visiting somewhere new and checking out the miniature railway. MoogieChew found the cache and log dutifully signed. Thanks for the cache warren9981

Took a while was about to give up and log as dnf until I looked at another cachers log and claimed as a find. the lid has fallen off. Also saw some snakeskin and I thought that was it.

Updated the description regarding the presence of a snake. Unusual for one to be in this location but not impossible.
Heading off through the rather long grass and reached the structure. Was just about to commence my search when I looked down and saw SNAKE!!!! Think it was only a python but I hightailed it outta there! Hate snakes.
I dropped by to find this cache today but it all seemed quite familiar. It turns out I was here back in august last year but I forgot to log my find. Guess I can make sure I do this time. I recall that I was dropping a mate at casino station for a train but we had time up our sleeves and sat at the nearby picnic table finishing up our takeaway coffees. The cache was found pretty easily then and even more easily this time round.. funny about that.
Cheers to the CO for the fun on this and the smiley. Pretty cool little spot.

Just checked in on the cache and the area has been recently mowed so it is easily accessible again.
Been to Dayboro from Cairns to attend the Mega, quick trip to Sth. Australia now turned tail and heading slowly back up north. 4 June 2021 3:06 pm Tyfc warren9981 total caches now 2151
This weekend, I headed south to NSW to Lismore and Casino on Saturday, followed by Springbrook National Park on the Gold Coast on Sunday, meeting different geocaching groups on both days.
Today, I started finding a few geocaches in Lismore before joining Beardman75 and georode in travelling to Casino. Our focus today was the *Ferg Loves Puzzles* series, and we managed to find a few others in and around the township of Casino, before departing around 15:00 hr back to Lismore. I then took the solo journey to stay the night at Robina, travelling via Goolmangar, Coffee Camp, Nimbin, Blue Knob, Mount Burrell, Uki, and Murwillumbah. A long day out and about!
What cool sculptures here, and it is unfortunate that they have felt so out of the way and growing in amongst the weeds and grass. This geocache took a while to find as the three of us circled the sculptures, looking at various heights and what would constitute that elevation for the CO. Eventually, it was georode who made the find, just as I was about to make the find! The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks warren9981 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

We searched around in a few different spots before Georode made the find. But Davidwazza was about to find it. Thanks for the cache
Taking a little jaunt over the border, turning a few caches into smilies along the way. Touring Casino before heading back north, finding a few solved puzzles and experiencing everything this lovely town has to offer.
Boy the grass was long, head high in places and completely wet due to the dew. Took quite a while to find, meantime I found a snake tail sticking out from one of the totems. Found after a bit if searching.
Such a great sculpture, shame it's left to rit rather than be cherished.
Find #10940 @ 07:48
Thanks warren9981 for giving us a reason to visit.

Not so much a DNF (as we got to the edge of the really really long grass), but a did not try, so just writing a note on this cache. The grass was above head height and I was happy to dive in, but the water from yesterday’s downpour had everything totally flooded and made what was listed as T2 turn into a T4. We decided to give in early on this one and leave it for another day. Loved the obvious structure that the cache must have been near though and would have loved to have got up closer to it.
A few environmental concerns here with long grass, water a plenty and a snake phobia. Glad it wasn't my turn to go bush. Thanks warren9981 for maintaining this hide.
My chants may have kept away snakes but it was also so ESCR could have a guide. She was below grass level!!!! Interesting structure. TFTC
A fun cache we found over the weekend trip away with friends to save space we signed as The 5. Which consisted of myself JACS Team, Gcoven, TeamARF, EatSleepCacheRepeat and Ardom.
The grass here went over my head! gcoven was doing some weird movements with her arms and chants that sounded quite tribal.. apparently this was to keep the snakes away it worked! TFTC

Parked close by the picnic spot land wandered off what we tought was the right direction, however the GPRs swung aroound and we were on the wrkng side of the tracks. Not to be deterred we walked back and headed in the right direction and soon had the cache in hand.

Had a great time with a friend!! Her first time geocaching! Got her hooked!! TFTC
A beautiful location for a geocache and we stopped here this morning to make a find on our drive through casino.
The paper is a little damp after all the rain but the birds nearby seemed very happy.
Thanks warren9981

In town for SES training and thought we’d take advantage of an early finish and snag a few caches. TFTC
Good find. But jammed in tight. We needed a stick to manoeuvre it out of it's hiding spot. TFTC!
Something in the nearby swamp made a big splash and scared the heck out me. Water rats? New log needed, sorry I couldn’t help. Thanks for bringing me here.
We loved finding this one today because the trains where also going around. They were great to watch.
