It was a Saturday afternoon and I felt like I needed to go grab a cache, so there I was perusing the map to find something that I could do and this happened to fit the bill.So there I rode on a fine afternoon, enjoying the expanse of mountain bike tracks on the MTB on the way to the cache. No stacks today thank goodness. It was not too long before I neared GZ on the bike.Soon I diverted off the trail where the cache location was soon rather obvious, and there it is! Lovely to see such a large container! I've been missing these!Struggled for a bit with the lid before finally being able to pry it off. Then of course my puny ballpoint pen decided it would prefer to stop living right as I was writing my name... So log evidence attached sigh. Then back on the road to home as the sun fades! Thanks for placing this cache Fore!
We parked the car near the new treetop zip line course just off Majura Parkway and gradually made our way to the top of Mt Majura. We were not on any trails once we started heading up, but searching out a few caches along the way. It was great to finally arrive at the sealed road which heads to the top of the mountain. We found this one along the way, and it was certainly lovely to find such a large Hide in the bush. All safe and well here and our name is now in the log.We really enjoyed our winter walk today. Thanks Fore!Domsky
Muggle65 and l dropped in here to drop a larger trackable. Unfortunately a wee bit of water was in the cache which doesn't go well with a plush toy so we are off to find an ammo can. Thank you for the fun
Disappointed at this cache, had a trackable to drop and just unsuitable and wet inside container thanks to previous finder for not closing the lid.
Today, the Mega begins. After the "official" stuff and the event, we go geocaching. Log sheets as "9 for QLD" to save space and time.Interesting puzzle. It's amazing what one learns doing Google searches for cache information! Logs signed and caches replaced as found on 28th March 2024. TFTC, Fore!.
15:05Attending the Mega event from Qld and staying with family while in Canberra, have joined fellow Qlders for a fun day hitting the high D/T caches.Mr Google helped us sort out the scorecard and then with interesting numbers made our way to GZ. Log signed 9 for Qld. Tftc
Today sees the opening of the long awaited geobash. While it might not be the official opening it was good to get in an early start. I had car park duties first up this morning, it was nice to meet and greet the cachers as they came in. Registration done, bags picked up, car flag, check out the stalls and ok I'm ready for caching. This is just nicely organised and well set up. Pathtags will be tomorrow. I wondered off and did some of the gadget caches before I meet up with my team mates for the day and we worked out what we were doing.ok sorted and we are off, there were multis and challenge caches, a few puzzles and a few targets for the day. It was not going to be a huge day, well it is a late start and there is an afternoon drinks event and then dinner.A nice multi cache and a fun puzzle to solve.
Great fun and exciting day today where our group of Queenslanders swelled to 9 cachers, and hence, to save room on the logs, we are signing as 9 for QLD.It started to get quite hot for bush walking, but we battled on to pick a few caches up in this area.Thank you, Fore!, for the good puzzle and for the quick find at GZ ??
Out and about in Canberra with the view to collect Multies, challenges and suburban cachesCaching with and signing as the group 'o for QLD' and having a great day.TFTCache Fore!
Ball Fore!!2.5/2.0 Large Mystery Cache Signed 9 for QLD.Thank you for the cache Fore!
#4628 Nothing like a crash course in scoring. It took a bit of googling and a few recalculations here and there, but finally had a suitable set of coordinates.Roll forward a number of months and Im back to finish what I had started. The e-bike got me all the way and found the cache in good condition. Thanks Fore! for another puzzling lesson.
Parked and turned on the gps. Flat batteries even though I had recharged them in the morning. Fortunately I had my phone.
A 1.5 kilometre walk up to near the summit of Mt Majura. After fruitlessly searching for 20 minutes I thought I had better check the co-ords. Yep I had completely stuff up when entering.
Drove down to a different spot and then a short walk to gz. TFTC.

Heading home decided it would be could to finally pick up this recently solved puzzle. Took a hint to close the deal but with a good set of numbers it was time to smiley this one off. Parked nearby and hiked along, only had to dodge 3 muggle dirt bike riders.

This was our first Mystery Cache that we have solved and found. We worked together as a family to decode the baseball terminology, and came up with 2 sets of possible co-ordinates. At GZ, we looked around for awhile to no avail. Once I went back to check co-ordinates, we adjusted our search area and GeoDad made the find quite quickly.

I had a great day attending to unfinished caching business on Mt Majura with Contesta today, climbing from the very bottom on the eastern side to almost the very top (due to a puzzle solution error - all good in the end) and back down again. Superb fun, great company, lots of roos and all the sought-after caches located.
This cache was tricky to solve, though it was located quickly at GZ once we were in fact at the correct one (we sought clarification from a previous finder who was mercifully quick to respond and set us right) and was in good condition. Thanks, Fore!

Lockdown has bought a totally different approach to caching with the introduction of homework! Much time for homework in fact. Therefore many more puzzles solved, both as a solo and collective effort. Thanks to my fellow geo buddies for assistance when needed.
And in between there are still some traditionals, though not nearly as many of them left these days
Logs all in good condition unless otherwise noted.
Thanks to Fore! for putting out and maintaining all of these caches for our enjoyment!

So cool to pick up this oldie. Have had it solved for ages but just never got out this way to pick it up. All was good with cache and awesome to pick up a large one.

A nice outing with Aquilus1, a spontainious one finding some location for a a bit of huff and puff we both felt we needed after too much work latley. This turned out much worse terrain that we would have imagined (not just the altitute gain and steepness, we sort of knew that but the undergrowth made the walk tricky) but we definatly got our excercise from it and it certainly felt like an achivement.
I had a first go and DNF on this cache about 9 years ago. I had calculated the wrong coords. I then got some help and better coords but it took a long long time for me to come back to the area. Too long.
Today finally I got to the the large container and even though it is not in perfect shape anymore I can see the great theam from the cache continues here in the container, well done.
Thank you Fore! for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Struggled with a few of the interpretations of the score sheet, but using all the information at hand gave me a good set of numbers.
At the gz I realised it was a fairly busy mtb spot. Should have brought my bike!
My numbers where a little out but enlarging the search gave up an obvious spot.
Love the big large bucket!
Great spot for a cache. Thanks again fore for the fun.
FYI. the cache contents have been a little wet in the past. some of the balls are a bit moldy but all good.

I had very limited time and I wanted a bit of exercise and to pick up my cache for the day. Tankengine was very nice to keep me company during my walk.
I've had this in the solve list for some time now and it was nice to be able to come out and pick it up finally. I was very surprised to find GZ still well intact and such a large cache. Tftc Fore!!!!

I tried this one last weekend and discovered that my solution was wrong and didn’t have enough battery to resolve and make it back to the car. Today I returned with revised coordinates and parked on this side of the mount. Much easier walking in and quick find. TFTH
Found with CBRCHIC on a beaut caching walk around the back of Majura. I had one coord wrong so it's gr at to have help from your mates who have already found it. Tftc
Found with Kitty Katch. Whay a great day caching and a walk in the woods. Had fun getting here from a previous cache.

I've been putting off this puzzle but gave it a go a couple of nights ago. I did manage to solve it with a bit of research. But when I checked my answer with a previous finder to confirm my answer, I had made a couple of mistakes. Once corrected all looked good. Cache quickly found once at GZ. TFTC.

I have picked up and put down this puzzle numerous times over the last 3 1/2 years or so, but not being familiar with the sport at all I always seem to have troubles and I always doubt my numbers are correct and don't bother coming out here to check!
Recently I wrote a note on the page and the CO thanked me which seemed like a good time to a ask for a little bit of confirmation
I sent my values and indeed my assumptions were correct and I had a mistake! So with the mistake then deeper researched and re-read I finally had it all sorted out and the coords have been sitting in my bank for a few months now!
Today I decided to finally come and pick up the final cache, as I have let this large size sit here for too long unfound. Out of 26 Large Caches listed in the ACT, this was my 6th last! The next one being 25km as the crow flies away from home!
Thanks Fore! the impressive cache, the balls were a bit old and damp and the lid was very hard to lift but the logbook was in good condition which is all that matters!
Lots of demolition of trees nearby! [:o]

Thanks to my awesome geocaching secretary this one has been replaced with a slightly smaller container (still large though), slightly less balls and a new log in a ziplock bag...there’s no pen/pencil so bring your own...it also takes a bit of effort to make sure the lid is on properly...cache on!

Taking this one offline until I (or should I say, allrounder) can replace the container and log..hopefully this will happen within the next week...
Research puzzles would be my favourite. A bit of Google and found a good site to help with this one although did take a bit to get my head around the system even with the clear information I'd found. First one of the day and went easily to the right location with an eagle overhead being buzzed by a heap of smaller birds. Nice sized container but the broken lid has let in a lot of water and log is no longer in any usable condition with the water damage to it. Will add a photo as proof of find. Thanks for the cache Fore!
During a roadtrip from Melbourne to Sydney to meet up with CT_ZA I enjoyed some sightseeing and obviously a lot of caching along the way .
After about 10 days great sunny days in Sydney it was time to head back south. After overnighting near Goulburn it was back on the road at dawn heading for Canberra.
With the solution in hand I enjoyed the short walk to GZ. Don't know if I had the right solution to start with or my GPSr wasn't settling, but I had to widen my search radius quite a bit to find the cache. Fortunately the hint helped me narrow the search. A lot of kangaroos around this morning.
Thanks, Fore!

Have been collecting a bunch of large containers this morning (before work) and this afternoon (after work). Fun solve and learnt something about the scoring system. Easy find, but tipped out about 4lt of water from bucket, as lid is damaged. TFTC Fore!
I enjoyed walk . Am catching up on caches solved and found. I enjoyed doing this puzzle. Signed the log.

Back to finish the other half of the Cycleway series after work today, and figured we should grab some nearby puzzle caches while we were here.
This one has been on our Solved list for a little while. Chris did the hard work solving it, and Saf did the signing at the other end. A fair trade!
We tried to replace the lid as best we could, but it really will need replacing soon. The contents seem ok for the moment.

With a bit of research, managed to make sense of all the squiggles, numbers and spots and come up with a set of coordinates. Today we were exploring the area on bike. Arrived at GZ and we were a bit concerned as there looks to be a lot of clearing been done. eventually we checked the size and read past logs and realised the coords were a bit out. Trusted the geosenses, like others before us, and we weren't led astray. Thanks Fore!
After solving this cool puzzle back in December 2012, and then failing to find the cache a month later, I was determined to come and have another look. Came to GZ without the coordinates but a fair memory of where it could be. It was straight to it today so I don't know how I missed it last time.
Thanks Fore! Found a couple of days short of my five year caching anniversary!
Cheers

Plans were set in place with AngelG27 to jump on the bikes and go for a spin down the Majura Cycleway to nab all of the caches we'd yet to collect in the series as well as a couple of puzzles nearby to finish off.
Perfect day for cycling-it was overcast and quite cool and we were impressed with just how smooth and reasonably flat the cycleway is-so that made for quite an easy ride
After knocking off the cycleway, off we went to collect the puzzles we'd both solved on the way back to the 1st car.
Puzzle-I have no clue about this game so I had to put my research hat on for this one. Didn't take long to come up with a plausible GZ.
Cache-After a bit of a wander up we arrived at our calculated GZ and had a look around but nothing. But like others have stated, the cache wasn't too far away at another spot
Signed log and replaced whats left of the lid and camo and back to the car we went.
Thanks Fore! yet another!

Went on a geomission this morning with Specimen X to collect the Majura Cycleway series and a few extras. I ended up finding 27 in all - not a bad haul for the morning. Specimen X had her black, cool mountain bike - I had my gold, fold up town bike - which did just fine for the Majura Cycleway ones! It was lovely and downhill all the way from #1 to #19 (all found as described), then a few Guard caches, a couple of extras on the way and finished up with a couple of puzzles - a lovely way to finish the morning. Thanks to all the cache hiders for their different hides and to Specimen X for her excellent company!
#26 for the day, and one that both Specimen X and I had solved before heading out. If truth be told, I got one of my colleagues who plays baseball to help out A quick jaunt up the hill. The coordinates seemed a little out, so we relied on geosenses, and found it easily. Great to have another large cache in the bag - so to speak! Thanks Fore! the cache!

The holidays were coming to an end now and I needed a few more finds to meet my goal of having less than 1000 caches to find in the ACT. I was looking at the map and noticed that the Majura Cycleway series and surrounding caches looked good. I had about 2 hours to spare so I wanted to try and grab some quick finds. My goal was to get 25 finds for the day.
As we drove over to the start point, I had a couple to collect. Those two caches were The ever changing face of Canberra and Guard Diciannove. We arrived at the carpark and unloaded the bike and I hit the trail. Just as I was about to get to the first cache, I saw Pacmania and LiamL. I had a quick chat to them and then continued on to the first cache. I had no problems with the series, breezing through the first few caches until I met up with TheSkype and Green Martian who were heading my way. I had a good chat with them, discussing all manner of Geocaching-related topics, before continuing on to the next cache.
After that, none of the caches took too long to find and I was soon at the most northern cache, ready to head back and pick up a couple of extra caches. I met up with TheSkype and Green Martian again at Stormy Raceway and asked if they wanted to join me to find Ball Fore! They did and we headed off to find the nice and big container! After that, we finally parted ways and I headed off to grab a couple more, meeting up with my dad afterwards. We collected Canberra VOR-DME on the way back home.
Thanks to all the COs who hid caches and sorry about the generic logs!

#1184 After bumping into Cankid with the Green-martian, we found this good sized cache, but only after Cankid did all the workings out. Credit to him. Thanks for bringing us here Fore!
Had no intention of doing this one but after having bumped into Cankid who solved the puzzle, me and TheSkype tagged along and found the cache. Thanks Cankid, you certainly gave me a newfound respect for your caching abilities, all I can say is keep caching. Tftc.
#947. 50 days in a row.
I went out to grab another couple of Large caches after my training ended for the day. I'd solved the puzzle for this one after I found out that I needed more Large caches to qualify for the Rev Heads challenge, so I went to grab it today. I drove out and parked, then had a short walk up the hill to GZ and a quick find.
The container lid is damaged, but the log book is protected in a ziplock bag and the trade items don't look like they'd be severely damaged by water, so not worth me noting it as needing maintenance.

A short walk in the evening to make the find. I took the TB 'Berlin-Ball mit Hund', which was a very appropriate TB to be found in this cache. TFTC Fore!
Found with Decrypter. I'd solved the puzzle and then checked my solution with D and we agreed. Today we went for the find. We arrived at our calculated GZ, but had to wander some meters away to find a spot that fit the hint and had the cache. Maybe we made a slight error? Unfortunately the container's lid was broken and the container had water in it. We took everything out and set them in the sun for some drying time. TFTC
Wonderful how geocaching broadens your mind, now I know a lot more about some particular ball sports I never actually played![^][^][^]
We needed to know the actual cache location of Ball Fore, so that we could safely plan locations for extending the Majura Cycleway series. I started to work out the puzzle and then found out that Trodectus had also been working it out. We conferred on results and I agreed with Trodectus.
At our calculated GZ, there was no place for a large, so we widened our search. Soon Trodectus found the rather large cache 16 meters away. Unfortunately the container lid had deteriorated and was working more as a funnel to channel water in than anything else! Fortunately the many balls it contained had kept the log above water level.
As it was a warm sunny day we squeezed the balls that held water as dry as possible and left them all basking in the sun while we went on to do a nearby cache. When we returned we gave them a while longer to dry. I found that my ball catching and throwing skills had deteriorated somewhat with age.
I then constructed a water resistant 'roof' that should keep the cache dry if people replace it carefully.
Thanks to Fore! for an interesting cache. This gets a favourite from me.

(519) Was keen to find a puzzle today for the souvenirs . So off I trekked, swatting away roos and wallabies as I approached GZ. No trouble finding the cache. Part of the lid came off as I was putting it back on. I think the plastic is starting to perish in the conditions. I forgot to bring a swap with me, so I just had a look at all the different spheres in the cache.
I think this is only my 10th large cache. They are so rare!
Solving the puzzle was very difficult for me. I did a lot of research and found that there are several conventions for scoring in this sport and the closely related other sport. In the end a friend who knows more about this than I do provided some assistance.
Interesting idea for a puzzle.

Mr Stormcatcher having played a bit on junior Baseball in the States really enjoyed this puzzle! I remember how great it was to play on beautifully groomed fields and the smell of the game, had a lot love for the game, but never actually scored it! Didn't take long to work out the scoring and had a some good looking coordinates.
We drove and parked near the new Majura Parkway overpass that provided nice access in. Mr Stormcatcher initially hit a foul ball as we discovered a slight error by getting the North and South scores around the wrong way! A shortish back track and we soon hit the Home Run and had our names on the log.
We love a good large cache and the contents had Mr Stormcatcher drooling lol If the skies weren't about to open up he probably would have started some juggling and throwing.
The cache is showing its age a bit with the lid beginning to disintegrate, everything is still looking okay inside though and the logbook nice and dry in its sealed bag.
Was great to do another cleverly constructed Fore! puzzle. We really enjoyed this one and deserves a favorite point for sure

Part of a 10 km walk around and over Mt. Majura picking up some solved puzzles and other nearby caches.
This took a bit of solving. I used to play baseball, but never scored it and have scored cricket. Neither helped out much here. After much reading I slowly managed to make sense of the score sheet and get some coordinates. The bucket lid is a bit perished, but everything inside is still dry and in good nick. This was my 27th unfound ACT puzzle.

Thanks to two different colleagues for assisting with the find and the solution. Dropped off another ball, the cache is getting very full and also damaged due to the elements. TFTC.
#661 - 14:50; Got expert assistance to solve this one. Basketball is easy by comparison! Polished off a nearby puzzle and another cache in the works zone while tools were downed and things were quiet in the area. A real ballsy puzzle and cache this one . While I wasn't sure of the solution, once at GZ, it was pretty clear I was in the right place and the cache was easily found. The lid is starting to deteriorate, but still quite serviceable for a while yet. TFTC Fore!
Darn it, I jumped the gun on this one and should have checked it myself.
My thanks to mcktcj who advised me that the cache is still in play and uninterrupted by the logging going on, as the area of logging doesn't extend to this spot. Needless to say, the last DNFs were because the puzzle must have been incorrectly "solved". I'm wondering if I can get this "unarchived"?

We think this cache needs checking due to tree clearing work in the immediate area of GZ and after extensive searching all over the area. Good luck, Ball Fore!!
After determining that we didn't need to make sacrifices to work out GZ (thanks Fore!), Cleared For Takeoff aznd MajuraHathi came to GZ this morning to find the whole area devasted by tree clearing. We looked and looked in all places that were left, but couldn't make the find. We wonder whether it was been spoiled by the tree clearing work. Might need checking?

1412.Grabbed this one on the way home from work on a lovely spring afternoon.
When I first saw this puzzle, I immediately thought "what the"? So it was phone a friend time who gave me a quick lesson on all the in and outs. I was very impressed with all the information that is and can be recorded on one of these things. After the phone call, with my mind racing, I started to question myself as to what my "paf" had actually said in regards to the specifics in the questions. I formulated a set of numbers and thought if worst comes to worst, it should be a nice walk anyway. I was so happy to find a container full of balls at my calculated coords. I wasnt prepared to trade the balls I had on me, so took nothing, left nothing, only my log entry.
TFTC.
I would pay for a ticket to be a spectator at a rematch

Woohoo! Have wanted to do this puzzle for awhile now but I needed some help with the scoring. With some help, the coords were punched in and we headed for the GZ. Came up empty handed at first but I guessed the coords must have been only slightly off, so we widened the search and the cache was soon found. GC is still clean, dry and full of balls. Geoteen did a swap, left a red handball with watchful eyes and took another hand ball. TFTC Fore! A favourite point for this one!
Hm, must have made an error when deriving the solution to this one. Dino and I were in the area today to pick up some caches in the forest and once we got to my calculated GZ we searched far and wide without any success. Will have to see were I went wrong and if we will get a chance to come back here again.
Jim and I went for a lovely walk through the pine forest, hoping to find brambles and mushrooms too so we were well prepared with a couple of buckets in hand. Only found a few mushies but the bugs had alrady got to them so no good for picking. Saw lots of mountain bikers and can't believe how fit they are! We also managed to find the cache after i had some help from work mates in solving the scorecards - had four answers but just could not get the final two...google was not very friendly at the time! Anyway, found cache and it matched the buckets we had in hand already, so when muggles cycled past it would not have been obvious to them what we were doing. Swapped a carlton brewery soft ball for a small defence jobs one - cool idea. Geohound Cougar would have loved this - he's a typical lab who just loves balls. TFTC Fore and the chance to learn about more about something new to us - we really enjoy your caches which are always challenging and interesting
With a cooler day here we decided to grab a few more caches from Majura (as Anslie is closed) so headed off for a lunchtime walk to grab this puzzle cache from the solved list.
Not too much activity on the way to GZ except for a few roos and the odd butterfly and we made a quick grab at GZ.
Thanks for a nice sized cache and the walk Fore!

Black Bunny decided that a luchtime walk was called for so we decided to grab a few caches from Majura.
This was a pleasant stroll to GZ and a quick find at GZ. Loved the cache size as I am sick of micros in the bush.

Cool bike riding with geoson #1 this afternoon. TN left geocaching badges and a highly sought after Newberys pathtag for the next cacher. Loved the huge cache, thanks Fore!
Almost forgot to thank Tony from work who is a baseball nut and did the sums for me.

Out for a days caching with Steeba and Hoojar. This was one of a few finds we made today.
Having cleared out one side of Mt Majura it was around to the other side to tackle that part. Baseball isnt one of my frequent past-times but I have to a few baseball games in the states.
Thanks

Found with The Rats and Hoojar on long days run through Canberra.
An interesting puzzle to solve and with some learning involved!
Continuing our walk we grabbed this one. TFTC!

Another puzzle tag-along cache. You'd never guess why this was called the ball Fore!. The biggest container I've seen so far. TFTC!
I had to spend a bit of time googling various scoring systems before I stumbled across one that told me almost everything I needed. I struggled with one of the scoring types and luckily sent my proposed solution and workings off to the owner as I had one of the important numbers wrong. A bit of a nudge in a different direction and I believed the solution to be out. I certainly hoped so anyway as ArcherACT, Elvis and I trudged up the hill. As we closed in on the proposed GZ a fwe obvious spots emerged...then a HUGE container.... Righto.... looks like it was correct then! Elvis salivated at the balls... a little...OK...not much at all really. He's not that kind of dog. I believe this was ArcherACT's 250 also! Well done!
Resorted to some help from a friend from the US to find this one. Eventually got around to talking the required walk today. A fun find. TFTC
Now this was my last today. Had worked out the puzzle awhile ago, and can say yup up with your evil ones there Fore. Got to gz and made a quick find. Opened the lid and had a laugh. Research on this one was had as just couldnt find what was used in the puzzle. Enjoyed the walk and TFTC Fore
After a frustrating morning of searching among GPS-defying pine trees it was a major relief that this one was fairly straightforward. The puzzle-solving task brought back memories of childhood sporting endeavours - TFTC!
Did the sums along time ago with the help from a friend. Was only today that I finally ended up out this way to pick it up. Word of warning for future caches to this site - The Spiders are HUGE.
I solved the puzzle ages ago, but sometimes it takes a while to get to the actual cache. This was pretty cool, it's been a while since I fiund a large cache. In my favour, the MTBers all seemed to have gone to the other end of the park, so I had peace and quiet at GZ. It was quite pleasant.
Thanks Fore!

We decided it was just too nice to stay indoors today so it was a decision which direction for cache and which mode of transport? JJ wanted the bikes and since we had already solved the 2 in Majura Pine Forest we thought great lots of people ride in there it will be easy.
We didn't realise the steepness of the hills in there and so the bike was pushed most of the way and clambering through the trees was a little difficult. We found the cache and then road back to the gate. This was extremely fun as it was all down hill and on a mountain bike track.
TFTC
JJ will not be playing baseball if I have to score again!

Yesterday I did a great wander around Mt Ainslie and left in the logs the round trip of caches for others to follow. Today I am leaving a 'What not to do' list - 3 caches, Mt Majura, and there has to be an easier approach than the way I found these three:
Majura Madness
Fore! Ball
Fore!seeable Anguish
Fore! Ball - I had solved this some time ago using my US gained softball scoring knowledge from my 2-year stint in California. A quick email to Fore! confirmed the co-ords were correct and so I included it in the plan.
It was an easy walk from the previous cache to this, mainly because trying to get down the Mt was so hard but also because the tree's had spread a little and the dogs were easier to follow.
At GZ got a little confused - Sol de lune had mentioned a Fore! cache on Mt Majura that required some assistance due to the height of the cache, but there was nothing around GZ that met that criteria. Read the clue and realised I had tied the dogs to the cache hiding spot without even realising it!
Grabbed two tennis balls as a reward for the geohounds, however they were more intersted in trying to pull me after the roo's.
TFTC, cache is still 2/3 full of balls.

5 out of 6 for the day. Lucky the puzzle didn't include what the squiggly S type thing meant, as I couldn't find a meaning for that. GPSr had me buried in the wrong natural Fore type hiding place - then I spied another likely looking one - Holy Moley, yep, that's a Fore container ! Spent quite a few minutes rehiding the cache - lucky no MTBers came by
I was quite expecting that cache container. I thought there would be plenty of very small balls, not some largish ones. As it happened I didn't have a ball to swap anyway. TNLN.

Oh, I loved this one. Thanks to Polliwogs for decoding. As I am geo-kidless the chances of ever needing to score baseball are low (Geo liddle tiny baby hounds do not play baseball . nice walk thru a lovely spot, even on a cold day. Took no balls, left no balls
Thanks again Fore for another clever cache. Learnt a bit about scoring that i will never need to know but interesting never the less. I will never complain about being asked to score at kids netball or soccer again! We headed into this one not very confident with our coords but what do you know, there's the cache!!!
Swapped a couple of balls for a couple of balls.

Here's a hint for caching players. Trust the arrow and distance and don't think that you know where the cache is. Otherwise you will find yourself scrambling under a fence only having to scramble back under the fence 30m on because you are an idiot.
That's gotta be one of the biggest containers I've seen. Oh and I'm sure I could here firing in the distance...perhaps the army was training today.

I was rather hoping when I saw the title of this one that it would be another golf cache as I think I am okay at those. Alas a sport that I don't know as well but the internet is a fine teacher and I soon mastered the scoring.
A nice walk to the cache on from another on a fine Canberra morning.

Another one while the morning was still morning. It was the cache after this one that really brought out the sweat though.
Thanks again Fore. (I'll get all this logging done eventually)

Boy, what a lot of balls!
The score sheets looked enough like baseball to be annoying, just not quite right.
We walked up from the Maze in the early morning cool.
Thanks, Robmc.

735 - Knowing nothing about this scoring system I didn't try to solve this one for a while. Then a bit of research came up with some likely coords which SDL and I visited this arvo. A nice big cache as well !
An enjoyable puzzle - thanks Fore!
TNLN - TFTC !!

Looked at this for while but couldn't get the low down on the co-ords. Back home after a few weeks away and AusCan had managed to 'walk' out the required info and today it was off to try for GZ.
A pleasant stroll through the area and we were soon at GZ and had the cache removed from it's hiding spot in around 5 minutes. There is still quite an assortment of balls in the cache, although I did take one, but left a TB.
Thanks for yet another interesting cache Fore!. And just for the record...............as a younger bloke, I unfortunately struck-out more often than this score sheet.

First of 2 finds after work this evening.
Finally got around to figuring out the puzzle, or more to the point making the time on the internet to get the relevant info. A very pleasant walk to GZ with a nicely hidden cache. Thanks Fore!

Played a bit of softball in highschool many decades ago, so had a stab at this without research, and got to within 36m of it. Just wish the short term memory was as good. Excellent haul of goodies the Sprotsmans Warehouse would be proud of - you did well to find a hide for it. TNLN.

1400. A double whammy milestone. My 1400th GC overall and 500th combined this year.
Now to my theory. Baseball was invented by people who weren't cluey enough to remember the correct rules of the game of cricket. The same applies to American football (gridiron) in relation to Union. Of course there is an exception to this rule for invented games - Aussie Rules. This was an inspired game developed to keep Cricketers in shape and therefore the pinnacle of the footballs. Of course none of this has anything to do with this cache, other than I'm obviously as poor a batter in this game as I was in cricket!!!
Took a while to solve the puzzle but was it worth it? A resounding yes. Not only for the location and the walk to get there, but also Fore! the size of the container and the contents.
TFTC the scenery, setting and pre-work walk.

Lots of people riding bike in the forest today. My first time in from this side and I know there is at least one more in here somewhere. Thanks.
