This was fun while it lasted, but was probably a little too complicated to survive for too long. Maybe a new spot will present itself for a new version.

30-Dec-09
Time for a spot of maintenance.

26-Dec-09
Think this one needs checking. Didn't find cache or mint tin. I'll add this to my watch list until I get confirmation. TFTH!

13-Dec-09
After impersonating a monkey climbing two trees in thongs (not a good idea), the Coasters can also report the whole cache has gone to Muggleland. Had to climb the tree as the metal cache retriever became wedged. Also was a good way to confirm the cache is no longer there. Loved the concept, but hard when lots of muggles are around enjoying the surrounds of Lilac park.

13-Nov-09
Found this ones first clue, then eventually found the magnetic lid down in the mud....think its stuffed!!

13-Nov-09
Not there but great spot!

01-Oct-09
We found the mint container with the long white elastic band, but no cache. Do I need to try harder or is it gone? I even climbed the tree and looked down the hole, but no luck.

01-Oct-09
We are from California in the area visiting our daughter who lives in Beeliar. We have enjoyed finding some geocaches in areas that we would not have known about otherwise. We are just geocaching our way around Western Australia. Thanks for this cache. Although we didn't find this one, we found the string and metal but don't think the container is there anymore. If it is would you please email me. Or if you would let me claim the find as we spent a lot of time climbing the tree and searching. Thanks for the fun and what a nice park.

1622 - Work trip in WA with time to cache....

Last of 48 finds for this trip. I thought this was going to be harder but - still - made the find ! I liked the concept !

TNLN - TFTC !!

Cheers....

Found this one this arvo. Reas easy to find. I prefer coordinates rather than following an arrow. SL/TN but left another of my International figures; an American Indian woman in full dress. TFTH.

26-Aug-09
Easy find with nikitak wot thatgrumguy rifus lab_mouse and co. I don't think the description is accurate any more, as the tree is now hollow all the way up!

26-Aug-09
Found with a bunch of others, but as Devar has stated, the tree is now completely hollow.
Makes it easier to get! Smile

26-Aug-09
Found it with devar, rifus, wot and a bunch of others. No longer 3m up as the tree is completely hollow so the cache fell to the bottom hole. Gorgeous spot, wonder if I could fish from here...

26-Aug-09
Found with thatgrumguy & co.

First cache with some friends new to geocaching and what a great start, Altho we couldn't find the higher cache the lower was in good condition and well hidden. TNLN SL TFTH

14-Aug-09
Found it on a bikeriding through the area. Easy find on a rainy day.
Thanks, hwodv - NL

09-Aug-09
found.

06-Aug-09
I hadn't read the cache listing until I got here and found the cache and then understood the purpose of the magnets. Liked the TB so picked it up to move on.

Thanks for the cache.

25-Jul-09
Have been here many times, its a nice spot. As others have stated, the cache is now in the lower hole, it was partly visible, so tried to conceal more effectivley.
TNLN (I have moved this TB before, so left it for the next visitor)

19-Jul-09
Thanks Bear_Left for this cache. I have often driven past this park but never stopped. Sadly this was only a brief visit between rain storms. Yes the cache is now in a lower position than described in the description.

Left Nebbiolo TB, sorry little guy this is a close as I can get to a winery.

Took TB, SL.

While we fished for the GC, some young fellows were doing some fishing in the river! Lovely spot T Generic Geocoin, L TB

The cache is now readily accessible and in such a lovely spot. Thanks Bear_left

13-Jun-09
Found! Seems cache has been moved to a slightly more accessible position. Location still valid though.

Saw a dolphin while in the area! Very unexpected.

09-Jun-09
Well - I've done drive-bys before - but this was my first ever paddle-by. Given the lower location - it might have even been possible to retrieve without even getting out of the boat! A very nice day for a paddle - lots of birds about on the river too. TNLN - Thanks.

08-Jun-09
No shower of gladdies today but even better no showers of rain. Nice easy find unlike our first visit when we would have had to get wet feet to get to the cache. Lovely area. TNLN. Thanks Bear_Left

24-May-09
This is my 1st cache outside Malaysia. The cache easy to find and located 1.5 m from the ground. The view of the river is very nice during the sunday morning. Took a toy and replace with Malaysian Keychain.

22-May-09
We weren't prepared to get wet feet to get to this one today. We will revisit. Thanks Bear_Left

12-May-09
This one I found after a 500m or so walk from the motel. The cache is no longer 3m from the ground, but only about half of that. It was found by a muggle on the 24/4 - "acidentaly found while drunk and fishing and looking for a place to put my wisky".
Thankfully he had placed the cache back. Picked up the GC to move on.

Enjoyed the walk, very peaceful at night. Cheers.

12-May-09
You don't have to fish it out and its now at the bottom and in easy reach of Muggles.I looked in the hollow and it looks like there is a chain in there it might have been connected to the Cache at some time. TFTH.TNLN.SL.

09-May-09
Went out early with Mum this morning. Beautiful time of the day. Thanks for this wonderful cache. Was a bit dissapointed we didn't have to fish for it

03-May-09
Too many muggles have to come back another day.

21-Apr-09
Quick find while enjoying a walk along the river after work. Cache is now in the lower hole as kept falling down. Hid it well so hopefully won’t get muggled.

T: Travel Trol Coin
L: Nothing

21-Apr-09
Set out to get this one on another day and had to come back as the tree seems to be a popular muggle fishing spot.

Had a nice walk by the river the second time and was able to grab it.

TFTH!

18-Apr-09
Found it! Another Bear_Left one under our caps. You may want to come out and check it though - the cache wont stay in top hole, just drops straight through to bottom one, which is where we found it.

TFTC. TN, Left GC, SL.

Good location, plenty of room for the kods to run around. Need to check the cache, cache falls through the hole and muggles are leaving rubbish in the cache's hole. TN LN

17-Mar-09
WanderingAus wandered by after visiting the nearby Guildford Guns. I was one of those who was "only reading this for the first time with the GPSr saying 'you're here' ", so I had to make use of the supplied equipment. It was still a bit of a fiddle, not knowing where in the hole the cache might be, but eventually there was a satisfying "clunk" and I was able to make a GAFF 1 find.

My find No 1303, LCC, TNLNSL, grabbed Skippy the Bushkangaroo TB (ref = TB1R6G1), dropped DiePienaars 10 Hides Geo-Achievement Coin (ref = TB1NZYP), also dropped Mr Sticky TB (ref = TB1RJVF), Mum's Dreams TB (ref = TB2AAZQ) and my WanderingAus Happy New Year 2008 Gold GC in for a visit before grabbing them back again.

found tree easy but had trouble locating cache finally got it with young Geones on my shoulder ,another nice bush park on river was a good spot for skippy TB,TFTH.

[A short and easy stroll to the river! Plus Little Stroopid found some playmates.]

Found cache but had fallen from upper hole into lower hole and it was in plain sight. Only had 3 small exchanges in it and a beer top so may have been raided. Left it in upper hole vicariously balanced on piece of bark.

[Took dice and left stickers, ball and frog toy]

We've went past this one a couple of times already and today we finally stopped. Quick spotted but had to climb a little bit to get it. Nothing for small people Wink

I came looking for this one on the weekend but there were muggles fishing directly under the tree in question!! an easy find today. I poked it with my stick and it came down the shoot and out the hole on the other side. Tricky to get it to stay back up there on return.

Took blue car. Left green frog. Thanks! Very Happy

30-Nov-08
I thought today would be a good day for fishing, so armed with the necessary equipment I tried my luck. Many castings later a fish was finally caught. My angling skills leave a lot to be desired.
TNLN Thanks for a hunt with a difference, Bear_Left.

23-Nov-08
found it and took looey on the loose TB

10-Nov-08
I can pass this way on the way from work to choir practice, so I dropped in to see how it's going.

The branch it was originally hiding in has been broken off a bit, so I left the cache in the bole of the tree where the Sharks put it and changed the description a little.

I also took the helper sub-cache from where it was buried in the spider-infested woodchips and put it back up onto its magnetic mount above the hole.

The cache was a bit heavy, so I retrieved a couple of geocoins to lighten the load on the magnets a little!

08-Nov-08
Had lunch on Saturday with mum (Shonalea) at the Rose & Crown so decided to pop over to this one for a post-meal stroll.

The tree was located without any trouble but it was from here that things started getting difficult. I found the mint tin in the expected hole but was horrified to find two large spiders residing within. After shrieking girlishly and tossing the tin like a hot potato, I inspected it a little closer and realised it was an "Extra" mint tin, not the "Eclipse" mint tin mentioned in the listing (seriously, what are the chances of there being two mint tins in one tree hole??). So I girdled my loins and braved another fossick in the hole and was relieved to find the correct tin the second time round. More importantly, there were no spiders lurking inside!

From there it would seem the retrieval was going to be a formality as the cache was just visible. However, as I was lifting it out, the connection broke and the cache tumbled an alarmingly long distance into the depths of the main trunk and proved irretrievable from the top despite several efforts.

It was just when we were thinking we'd have to give it up that and idea occurred to me and I had a look in the lower "mint-tin" hole and peered up into the tree trunk to be rewarded with the sight of the cache wedged about halfway between the two holes. A quick jiggle with the stick and the cache plopped into my hands. Certainly not retrieved the way it was intended but retrieved none-the-less!

I put the cache back in a slightly higher position to where I found it so it should be comfortably retrieved the correct way in future!

Left GC and TB.

Thanks Bear_Left!

Accompanied WoWpower for her find and while here we dropped off Lydford Locators' Admin Brick GC.

Bit of a stretch to reach the cache but managed with a tall bloke and a tent peg.
This is a beautiful park!

What a wonderful way to start the day - with a spot of fishing down by the river! Brought our own stick but used the thoughtfully supplied tackle. This was a lot of fun. Thanks Bear_Left.

Hello Bear Left. Going well since you helped me get started. This was a neat find and a beautiful day for it. Thanks for the hunt.

20-Sep-08
Amazed it was still there as it was hanging out of the branch for all to see, and with so many muggles in the area, would have thought it would have been spotted yet

Second find for the day. I was with The Cache (plus one), they did all the work of retrieval. Well done team. Who was the man with the dog?

Bit of an adventure today for this one. Came by around midday but there were too many muggles/fellow cachers (not sure which) to get a chance to have a good look. Saw the likely hiding spot so decided to come back after checking out other caches in the area.
When we returned we were able to sneak in and make a quick grab, retreat to sign the log and then wander back to replace the cache. No need for any extra materials when you're not vertically challenged!!
Didn't see the TB so I'm assuming it was picked up by fellow cachers earlier and hasn't been logged out yet.
Thanks for bringing us out to this great spot, Bear_Left.

Very Tricky! We thought we were going to loose it, or one of us, to the depths of the Swan, but the magnets held while we held our collective breath. Thanx for another interesting cache Bear_Left. Left Colorado Golden Girl2 TB.

[Australian Branch] Hilarious retrieval of this cache...should have seen us searching in the wrong tree and trying to fish it out of the wrong hole. Easy once we found the right one! We left a really long stick in the nearby area for future cachers. Moved on the Sacramento 08 Geocoin. TFTH.

FTF @ 5:30pm. Only 5 minutes from my house, how could I resist stopping here on the way home? A new cache - just the thing to cheer me up after a long day at work!

I found a suitable iron thing and 'string' in my car on the way here, and made short work of retrieving the cache. I thought that getting it back into its hidey hole would be more tricky, but surprisingly it wasn't too difficult.

I took only the FTF card, and left a Crop Circle GC.

Upon my return to the car I thought my eagle eye spotted PBL sitting in his car nearby. I tried subtly to get his attention by waving my GPS and FTF card around, and then dismantling my iron/string rig, but he seemed very focused and didn't look in my direction; and I wasn't game enough to approach the car in case I was mistaken.

Great cache, loved the idea and had a lot of fun. Also a lovely park, thanks for the hunt!

STF 5.50pm Alas I just missed R0gue by 15 mins or so. Saw PBL’s geos/wagon as I approached to park my car next to him. Came and knocked his window saying hello. He was busy with his geotoy Wink Knew R0gue would be FTF for this cache as she would normally do that on way to home from work after I looked at wristwatch. Saw the cache up there - tried to fiddle with stick to get off. Hard to put it back so I returned to fetch my little tool from my car. Climbed up and placed it - eye on where I stood - ensures that I do not fall into mud and river Lol. Consider it to be 3 stars for difficult if you do not have any tool with you. Took: Chelmo’s Crop Circle GC. Left: nil except Twisted Kitty TB is destined to next cache. Thanks to Bear_Left for the great cache and fun.
