No fooling...this one is gone Sad. The location is no longer suitable due to the VERY nasty thorny plant that has grown since the cache was hidden. I will be locating an alternate spot in the vicinity to keep this nutty cache going. Will remain disabled until then.

27-Mar-13
Yet another DNF for me today. Having fun though. Found the much logged thorns Smile but no cache. Better luck next time? TFTC

09-Mar-13
Couldn't find it. Got stabed by thornes and gave up. Sad

21-Jan-13
Oh no our second DNF in a row... Lots of searching through spikey things and trying not to look too suspicious while a nearby resident kept peering at us while pretending to mow the same patch of grass for the third time... we eventually conceded defeat and moved on. Was fun anyway so thanks Smile

We were in a bit of a rush to meet co-conspirators at another cache across town, but we were in the area, and MissGeosie really wanted to help me find this one today. After the GPS couldn't decide which feature it wanted me to be at, and many of said features having spiky thorny plants around them (a couple of which bit me), we reluctantly called off the search and continued on our mission. I'm sure it's there somewhere.... maybe next time. TFTH, svn07.

30-Dec-12

I spent a fun few hours today down on the southside with this CO and her geoson on our first caching adventure together Big Grin After I dropped them home I headed off for a few finds on my own. Of course I had to make sure I collected all of her caches [^] Cool

I have been called nutty on many occasions, and there were a lot of laughs and silliness during our adventures today Cool so this cache was very apt. And as I was trying to work out my new GPS device, who should show up again but the CO on her way to collect her daughter Big Grin Yet another lesson was gratefully received for the new technology. Finally I got organised and headed in the right direction. As I got close to GZ I could see where the cache name came from, then at GZ it was a very short hunt. TFTC, svn07 and for a great day Big Grin And my favourite kind of nuts are almonds.

11-Aug-12
Out and about again on the dark side of town to collect some interesting caches on this mild and wonderful day and this was our 14th cache for the day. Loved the name of this cache and now understand its name. What we really liked was a house opposite which have owls around their house and one hugh one on their antenna. Thanks for bringing us to this little area.

Thanks for the cache. It is dry and in good condition.

I was on route a hopeful FTF in the area, and decided to stop at this cache, I am trying to make my map in this area ll smilies! Arrived at GZ and GPSr was pointing me to the bridge at first and I jumped to the conclusion that it was on the bridge. My first thought was I hope not as the water was not touching the underside of the bridge. I looked back at the GPSr and it was now pointing me in another direction PERFECT!

I walked right passed the cache and turned on direction from the GPSr and I could make out the tell tell sight of expected GeoCache. The cache was in good condition and the logbook was dry even in this wet weather.

I did not find the Geocoin in the cache, but again maybe I was been a typical male and not looking close enough as I was trying to get out the rain.

Quick find for today, even though my gps needed to calibrate. Mmmmmmmm almonds!!!!!!

20-Nov-11
Found during a visit to friends at Birkdale today. They were impressed with our speed in finding it, but after I explained some of the finer points of hiding it from muggle view, shelter from rain, placement of camo etc etc, they saw how it all works. All is fine inside and out; I see there have been other visitors today as well. TFTC svn07!

First for the day on our way to Wynnum for a bit of caching and lunch. Nice quick find which didn't send us nuts! TFTC svn07

11-Oct-11
After hunting in a couple of likely spots I noticed as I approached gz. I decided to trust gps and had cache in hand in seconds.

07-Oct-11
Oh yes, very funny indeed. Reminds me of a suburb near my place where it is divided into three sections, and each is themed for street names. Constellations, native flora and Australian birds. As for the cache, I walked past it while reading the description, but once in the right area, found it quickly. Wandered over t watch the little creek flow for a while after that. Good and relaxing after work. TFTC svn07.

23-Aug-11
Nice easy find while we were in the neighborhood today. The cache was quite exposed, so i covered it over a lot better before i left Big Grin. Which, by the way, is when the name finally hit us Razz TNLN. Thanks svn07

20-Aug-11
Parked the car and as it turned out we couldn't have been closer to the cache. Followed the gps and we then spotted the cache a bit exposed. Made sure it was well camo'd when we left. All's good with the cache. Had a laugh to ourselves when we got back in the car and THEN we noticed the relevance of the cache name. LOL! Thanks svn07 for placing the cache here for us to find.

On a small drive I found this cache. It was a nice easy cache, only to find there was no pen in the cache, so a short search back in the car and the log was signed. I now get the title of the cache.
Thankyou

08-Aug-10
Arrived here with Ms Wig after lunch with the wounded Gum and the SA herself.

Saw a likely spot, but as I went in to check, I felt something sharp in my back... oh no... was I sprung by the SA Surprised

I turned around to find it was just a thorn in the nearby plant... how kind of the SA to place a cache near such a plant Razz

Signed the log, then back to the Nut mobile... I mean the Wig mobile!!

Thanks SVN07 (Enjoy your time in the 700s btw)

09-Jul-10
Was loosing patience with this one but then tada Smile Nice hide in a nice area
Lots of muggles and recieved a funny look by the locals across the road as we got in the car. Made sure nobody saw us rehide the cache though so it should be safe.

Checked every hole and every log and there it was! Big Grin
Lots of muggle kids around on scooters and bikes which made this find quite challenging.
As tempting as that geocoin looked desided to not be greedy as I already have a TB to find a home for.

04-Jul-10
After spending the morning hunting with the "Nutty" owner of this cache, I headed inbound to hunt one of hers once she had headed home... Wink

I thought I may have been muggled out by a couple of ankle biters playing across the road but when I approached GZ and spotted the container in its lair, I was out of sight and free to conduct secret caching business... [^]

The container was a little exposed so once my sticker was in the log, I packed up, tucked it away and coverred it up with plenty of natural camo... Twisted

I left a coin that I brought up from Adelaide.

Cheers Svn07.

Go Nuts.....I did...and the fellow from the house opposite gave me a weird look! I was heading towards GZ when my normally trusty GPS died....n'er a sign of life Sad No GPS....really time to think like a geocacher. Focusing in on the last image I searched here...and there....and there.....and....well to cut the story short....I eventually found the cache dry and in good condition.

Thanks SVN07 Smile

Take care near the cache as there are some very sharp thorns on vines growing there. Some of the thorns are at eye level.
Thanks svn07.

Don't worry about the nuts what about the name of the street that gets you here - BYNG St. Did another cache later in the day that were named after wines - shiraz, resiling, etc. TFTC

Gee whiz the council must have run out of inspiration and resorted to the nuts for the names of the streets in this area. Don't think I would like tolive on almond or walnut street!!! Then the other thing we would like to note is that all non-geocachers definitely think we - geocachers - are all nuts. Just try to explain caching in a few words - and see how many nutty looks you get. Thanks for the cache - the lucky coins came out in a geocaching kids hand and we put a teddy bear and some games in . Dropped off a travel bug.
