Logs

After alot of climbing, crawling, and bushwhacking. I finally made it to the cache! Very easy to find once at the coordinates

Found it, log a bit moist. Lots of scratches. Gos pretty accurate

23-Oct-23
Getting to gz required a bit of bush bashing through my favourite cutty grass but I took a different route on the way back and avoided most of it. Nice park. TFTC

#373First find of today. What a Dell-light to see the original logbook! Cache in good condition- TFTH

Great bit of bush whacking. We forgot a pen so well need to come back. Perhaps well leave a swap on the container.

After registering atvthe beach for tomorrow's ocean swim, I just had to grab a local cache or 2. Wow time flies. Lol I hate waste, so used my ancient GPS for years, and same with phones... Luckily I recently upgraded to a refurbished 2nd hand phone , so I finally have the convenient tech for a quick solve. What a lovely reserve! Once again, wore inappropriate footwear ( jandals!) for the bush bash TFTC!

First class today isn't until midday so I had enough time for a bike ride out to St Heliers and back, and a walk over to this cache after leaving my bike by the library.

I solved the puzzle on January 25th and had no problems at all. I guess these have become a lot more widely used in the 14 years since this puzzle was created.

Finding the cache today was a lot more of a struggle. I found my way in and noticed what might have been a geotrail leading off the path. Nothing at the first hint item I checked, so I had to go further in... and that happened several more times. Eventually, after checking EVERYWHERE, I decided that instead of searching for the cache, I would try searching for the "easy way out" that had been mentioned in a few of the logs. Looked up and around, spotted a path with slightly less cutty grass, and right next to it was the cache in plain sight!

I ended up with a lot of cutty grass scrapes (not a good time to be wearing shorts) and a spiderweb in the face after this one. But I also finally got to claim the find, and got to pick up a trackable as well (one of the main reasons for choosing to come here today), which I will move along soon.

Cache all good. Smile Thanks for placing it!

I worked out the coordinates before we left Brisbane for our short visit here to visit family. After a short bush bash, the cache was found in good condition. Last log was in January. Left tb. Tftc - my first Mystery cache in NZ.

Very nice village

I'm 21 January 2022 13:47 GSEL deserves the credit again for this one, he solved it, and had bush bashed his way to it whilst I was still trying to find my way through the cutty grass! Tftc SWW

#10,717. We had headed over this side of town to do the St Heliers Adventure Lab. I saw this solved puzzle final was not too far away so up we came to this reserve. Luckily the tools to solve this puzzle are more commonly available today than they were in 2008. We wandered down the path and then realised if you have survived hidden for 14 years in Auckland you are probably off the beaten track. And so it proved. A scramble through thick cutty grass, fallen branches and dense undergrowth and there in front of me was the cache. Signed the logbook and replaced the container where found and off we went back to the car. Thanks SWW for hiding it here.

23-Dec-21
189. Found the cache but forgot my pen! We went one way then thought we should go the other way but the original way was indeed correct. Then it was straight through the bush to ground zero. TFTC

Don’t be discouraged, this was just a matter of me not wanting ti go exactly to gz. I started bushwhacking but decided as it is lockdown to play it safe. Will come back after lockdown and give it a good go

Did this puzzle sometime ago so it was nice to get the final
Had sometime on our hands this weekend with EyespyBen after a Wet week Great Big walkway
Nice easy find thanks

Back up this way again with ABCDF4
Nice easy find

Wow that took a lot of bushwhacking to get there! Felt like I was on the run from someone. TFTC Smile

Solved this one AGES ago but never made it into the reserve to collect. Needed a cache to fill a dot day today and as I was relatively close with a bit of time on my hands decided to give the find a crack. Parked up and found the path I needed to be on but then realized I needed to go off trail...hmm looks quite dense there and it’s raining...oh well how bad can it be!

Wandered around a bit wishing I had my gps to be a bit more accurate but at the 2nd species that grabbed my attention there it was! Nice and dry and waiting to be found. Log signed and now to get out.

Knew the general area I was headed in but obviously didn’t follow the same path in as it seemed harder on the way out. I can see how easy it could be for trampers to get lost in the bush when it all looks the same. Happened upon the path sooner then expected (always seems to be quicker on the way out) and raced back to the car as it was now raining harder.

Thanks for the puzzle and the cache!

01-May-21
A nice easy solve to this puzzle that I made close to a year ago.

Finally got around to collecting it today.

Area required bushwhacking to access, but I walked to the tree and spotted the cache straight away.

All good here, nice and dry!

Thanks!

Had help with the working out but bush bashed my way to the GZ today. Lots of cuts from the sharp grass but got there in the end. Nice size container so easy to spot at GZ. Thanks CO for the puzzle cache.

28-Aug-20
Solved this puzzle in may last year.Today we decided to stop by and see if we could find the cache.Parked up nearby and took a short walk down the path and into the bush. One of us knew which side of the path to begin the search whilst the other of us wasnt sure if they had it right or not as it looked very overgrown with no sign of any geotrail. We walked into the bush for sometime looking at various places but without any luck. Our Gps was very jumpy and we were now getting damp and muddy. We carried on our search a bit further and suddenly the GPS decided to be kind and the cache was spotted. It was in very good condition and we were happy to sign our names on this log.Now to find our way out.Think it might be slightly easier to get back to the path.

05-Jul-20
This puzzle was solved a long time ago, and not sure if we can remember how we solved it. Anyway we were in the area today, collecting a few caches before the forecast rain arrived. Thanks to the maps on the Cachly app we were soon close to gz. A short bush bash in a very overgrown area and we were soon at gz. A quick look around and we spotted the cache exactly where the coords pointed to. Glad to finally sign our names on this one, which is in excellent condition.

05-May-20
Out and about signing off some solved puzzles. I see I have overlooked logging this one. Had a wee stroll, bush bash and Gps jumpy. seached awhile and bingo cache was found. Algood here and nice easy way out to the path. thx for the smily.

25-Apr-20
Damn will try again

13-Mar-19
It’s been so long since I solved this that I don’t even remember doing it! But when I was in the area today, even though I was already late, I had to at least try to complete the formalities. I chose the right paths thankfully but perhaps not the best exit point off the path. I didn’t feel great trampling around in the bushes and got stuck and cobwebby a couple of times, but I kept moving towards what my phone said GZ was. So many hint items, so I was relieved to spot it after a few minutes searching. Cache still in good condition. Coming out was easier than going in and I was soon oh my way to seeing my friends, brushing off leaves and spiderwebs as I greeted them! Thanks for the dingly cache!

We came over this way with two plans - 1) if we managed to get on the boat going to Brown Island we would spend the day there 2) if we didn't we would seek out caches in the Mission bay area. To that end we had looked at this puzzle and spotting that it hadn't been found for a while decided we would see if we could solve. It took a little while as we weren't sure we had the right means with what we had to do it - that said we did and once stage one was sorted stage two and the co-ords were soon in hand
We had managed to join the group going to Browns and we also decided we would seek just this one out after. Having parked, the trail looked easy enough to start but as we got within 90ft of GZ we could not see the way t it - none of the paths seemed to get us near and having read previous logs it seems a bit of bush bashing was in order - not the easiest but we got to GZ and the cache was found quickly
Not found for 14 months so a *Resuscitated cache* Smile
We made our way back out on to the path and back to the car

This one was not so fun to find for me. Was a bit tricky going through the bush. My fear of spiders did not help as there were many webs of a large size. Did get it though, so not a horrible experience.

05-Nov-17
Well, it wasn't muddy, but there was plenty of bush bashing involved. Wrestled our way through from the wrong trail, but we didn't give up and eventually found it! Pretty proud of ourselves haha. Cache is black btw. Tftc Smile now off to find some caches that don't involve being smacked in the face multiple times by foliage!

08-Aug-17
I had tried this puzzle a few times and not got anywhere with it, but recently came up with a new idea, which others have tried but when I had a go, it didn't work! Tried 2 sites too and my cellphone! So in the end it was the PAF option that got me success. So today was chosen to come and pick up the final. Another little reserve I haven't been to before and I thought it was really nice! You can see evidence of past flooding down in the valley, but it was quite dry getting to GZ. I found the closest trail to GZ and I only had to bush-bash uphill 15m or so which was a piece of cake. Had the cache in hand very quickly. Thanks for the cache.

11-Mar-17
This was in our solved puzzles list for a while and today seemed to be a perfect day to find it. We headed to this part of Auckland just to find this one. We parked up at the Parkside Street and walked. Once we passed GZ while walking on the track, we were bit confused, what..!! is it in there. Phewww bush bashing..!! yes we eventually made to GZ and found the cache. but then as usual, we also found an easier way back to track. tftc.

05-Mar-17
Solved this one ages ago but I don't really have reasons to come this way so didn't get around to picking it up. Today I was helping the team run the Round the Bays event so was down here for the end of the race. All finished up and since this was sort of on the way home came to look for it. I went past what looked like and definitely sounded like a pretty epic post race party in the dell, if the renditions of old Exponents hits were anything to go by.

At GZ took a harder way than I needed to but it still wasn't bad and after walking in and turning around to assess my options could see where the cache was likely to be. Sure enough, there it was. The listed TB is not there sadly. Good fun, and back on my way home to head out for lunch. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

02-Mar-17
Another cache I solved a while ago but haven't had the time to grab when nearby. Today presented a good opportunity so stopped and walk through this reserve I had never been too. I managed to hit the right track but found that I needed to do quite a bit of bush bashing to get to the final; it is quite overgrown at the moment. Cache is in good condition. TFTC.

Team BOP ( myself Philip.Perry and TNXPRO ) have a few solved puzzles in Auckland so planned a trip to Auckland to collect the puzzles. This was a nice walk down to the cache and a hard walk back up to the car as we were still tired from the day before caching and the V hadn't kicked in.
Tftc

30-Jan-17
With a bag full of solved puzzles around Auckland, I teamed up once again with Davidson clan and Philip.Perry. Team BOP were reunited once again to gather as many solved puzzles as we had time to find in the two days we had allocated.

Its has taken me a couple of weeks to get my head into logging these and my memory is fading, so am relying on a combo of field-notes and the other logs from Team BOP...

I hadnt had a chance to solve all the puzzles on our list, including this one, but as I was along for the ride and found the log book, I can log the find. I will be trying to solve this in retrospect though.

Was a nice reserve with a good bit of history to read about.

We took the path down there together, but I followed the GPS arrow back to the carpark and bush bashed a direct line up the hill and had to wait a few minutes till the others caught up.

Thanks for putting out the challenging puzzle and TFTC.

30-Jan-17
Team BOP have descended upon Auckland with a pocket full of solved puzzles. I wish I'd checked the terrain on this before we arrived - I was way to tired to take this one on but we were motivated. Although it did take a little bush-bashing we got there in the end and now the only thing left was the trek back up to the car although I'm glad I took the path - TNXPro took a..... shortcut Smile Cheers sww, TFTC.

26/01/17 - Solved this one last night and managed to pick up this morning. Went round and round until we found an appropriate way in. Now, chilling at the beach and remarkably close to original puzzle cords tftc Smile

29-Nov-16
I parked a bit past GZ, then walked in on an unmarked path. I joined a main path, then had to double back to get close. I ended up bashing to GZ about 10m. I worked my way though GZ, then spotted the obvious hide once I turned around. TFTC.

27-Nov-16
Had a very quick solve with this puzzle this morning, and a nice walk to get to the location. The coordinates were pretty spot on for me, and I managed to get to the hiding spot on a path of least resistance. Looked around a bit and saw the container before extracting it. Everything in good shape. Dropped off a geocoin. Thanks for the puzzle and the hide!

19-Nov-16
Quick solve but not so with the find, we had a walk along a few tracks that were not required to find this cache, should have read the logs as I wasnot expecting bush bashing but never mind wet and dirty from the last cache, at least the rain stayed away. Found at the end of an interesting caching day with suppernanny.

19-Nov-16
Solved this easily last week .....and today I was able to get a ride out with urbangypsynz as we had free afternoons and a few puzzle finals and a couple of trads to collect .
I felt confident here as I had the tracks on my phone ; but I soon led us astray ! My phone didn't like the tree cover ! So luckily urbangypsynz was there to save the day with her GPS !
We ended up walking up and down several tracks uneccessarily !
Then it was a matter of a lot of bush bashing ....direct route !
Still no sign ,,,,,, I was just about to call off the search as I had Grandma duties at night ; when urbangypsynz called out "found it ! "
And I thought I had checked that tree !!!!!! Now where is the track out to the car ?????
Phew ...... Good to tick this one off !!!!

I can imagine this puzzle was a bit harder back when it was originally set, but those codes are a bit more common now so easy enough to solve Smile I knew immediately by looking at it what needed to be done first to solve it too, so first part done nice and easily.

I used Google street view to work out which entrance I should take into the park, and parked at Selwyn College to run down there - I needed to pick up my son from a course there so figured 35 minutes would be enough to run down, find the cache and come back again.

But! I took a wrong turn on the way down and ended up entering in the wrong entrance. Once I'd got to the bottom of the path my GPS was telling me to start bush bashing, so off I went... much bush bashing later, I ended up on the path I should have run down, and popped back a little way into the bush and found it pretty quickly. If only I'd gone down the right path in the first place it would have been all so much quicker... still, only about ten minutes, but I managed to get a bit scratched up. Fun though!

Then a run back to pick up my son; I was only about two minutes late and he'd only just got out when I came back. TFTC. #152

Solved this puzzle quite away, out having coffee with a friend in Mission Bay and decided to stop by to finally collect this one. Far more bush bashing than I thought for an urban reserve. Picked the hardest route to GZ. Coords accurate and cache found with relative ease at GZ.

12-Jun-16
The last time I had been in the Dell was over 20 years ago so it was great to be brought back here to enjoy this lovely walk. A bit of a bush bash to get to the cache but I was rewarded with finding the co-ords were spot on and a quick find was made.

Found just as it turned dark and while the tuis and a moreporks were heard at the same time. A gorgeous park that I hope to explore in better light next time. Cache a decent size [^] and in good order. thanks!

19-Feb-16
Nice quick solve here and what an awesome reserve with great quiet bush walks. Got near the GZ and the Geo-Radar kicked in and soon noticed something that looked like a cache hide....and yes it was. TFTC and find # 888 for me.

17-Jan-16
Another puzzle solved at the beginning of last year, and today making a special journey to collect. A lovely walk in the late afternoon. Someone is playing a saxophone nearby, and love is in the air!

Luckily I am able to navigate myself fairly close to GZ before I have to go off track, and that is when the fun starts as the GPS is bouncing around a bit. Its not a long search until I locate the well hidden cache, and the log signed. Because of the meandering route that I took to GZ, where exactly was the path? hmm roughly knew the way to go, and then back in familiar territory. Thanks for the hide and the puzzle. It had me for awhile, a few red herrings, but eventually knew what to do. Big Grin

Much more fun looking for this in the dark with torches and oingkiwi. Heard a ruru. The mozzies had some happy sampling too. TFTC

#10547. We had to work for this cache! After an initial recce, we had to hurriedly drive the short distance to the excellent loo. Feeling more relaxed, and having established a bush bash was needed, we returned to GZ and this time managed to located the cache. Phew! TFTC.

28-Dec-15
We had just had 4 DNFs in a row and just one find for the day so we were very keen to turn this puzzle into a smiley. After finding a close by parking spot on the narrow road, we headed down the track. Now which way to go? We turned right, instead of left and ended up walking much further than we needed. The GPSr never counted down to less than 15m and we didn't like the look of the bush bash, so wondered if we had the wrong co-ordinates.
We then needed a "comfort" stop, so during the down time I did some log reading and discovered that a bush bash was required. Back to the parking spot again, and this time we took the "right" route and after some bush bashing, the cache didn't take long to turn up. Phew. Score is now 2 Smile, 4 Sad. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

07-Jul-15
Cool reserve nice walk through, tftc

08-Feb-15
Parked down at sea level then had to decide, which path to take? Murphys law suggested we take the other one so after a scenic journey we eventually found the cache & signed the log. Swapped a large trinket for a smaller one

Solved this puzzle cache at the weekend after looking for some I could do following the Puzzled??? event on Saturday 10th January. Today took the opportunity to take the puppy for a walk in a cool area as it was another glorious Auckland summer day. After a few attempts and me realising I had entered the wrong co-ordinates on my GPSr and had gone bush crashing for no reason at all, we ended up back where we started!! How did that happen? so confused with these paths! Left my daughter with the puppy in the shade, then after a couple more off track adventures, my son and I finally found GZ at which point I realised I had left all writing implements with my daughter!!!!! Such a big container and no pencil inside, arrrggghhh. Hopefully the log photo is evidence enough and we will do the writing bit another time. Took the lovely geocoin inside left by the PeLeFiKa Team. Oh, and then we got lost getting back again, now after a spot of late lunch I think it is time to adjourn to the swimming pool close to home Cool January 14, 2015 13:32
Thanks for the puzzle and the hide sww, one to remember.

#1011; @1145. Unfortunately today is the last day of our 3 weeks holiday in NZ and Auckland. We liked it a lot, but it is time to return back to Europe. Just before our departure I wanted to find this mystery cache that was solved right after we arrived and been recovering from the flight on the St. Heliers beach. First attempt to find the cache was unsuccessful due to the time shortage. Today it was better. The environment has been very wild, GPS reception shaky but not beeing under the stress I found the container. Had to walk through the bushes few times but have done it. Left my SWG in. TFTC. Ďakujem za kešku. Greetings from Slovakia. Pe.
Found and logged on my HTC/c:geo

04-Jan-15
@0655. Not successful in the dark jungle. Was jogging around and did not want to spend much time with searching. Thanks for showing the place anyway. Maybe I will come again with all our team. Pe.
Didn't find and logged on my HTC/c:geo

I solved this one about six months ago, but never got around to collecting it. Driving past this location after collecting another cache, I decided to quickly swoop past and collect in. This was a nice and easy find in between the rain showers. TFTC!

Our 5,000th find. We wanted a puzzle in a natural environ, so this was it! A favourite point from us for all sorts of reasons.

06-Oct-13
We had solved this puzzle a little while back, just as we were starting to get the hang of this puzzle caching thing. Unfortunately, we attempted it in the dead of the night, and with the darkness and an uncooperative GPS, we had to call it quits.

This time, we brought alpenmilch80 along for the trip, as she had solved this puzzle also, but hadn't yet logged the find either. It definitely is a lot easier, and not as creepy in the daylight, and the find was a lot more straightforward! Thanks for the nice puzzle cache. Smile

06-Oct-13
After completing some caches in the area together with Vamber they informed me that they heading of to do this puzzle cache. I checked my notes and I must have solved it already earlier this year as well. I joined them for the hunt and we were rewarded with a fast find. TFTC

Desperately needs a new container and logbook.

#603 Solved this one last night while on a puzzle spree trying to transform East Auckland into smilies. Great little puzzle which was solved quickly and then it was the first one we ventured to this morning. Found our way in but the GPS was not going to settle! It was jumping all over the place and we were going around in circles for ages without any success. Many bad words were said but we wouldn't give up- not on our first cache for the day. Looked around all the obvious hint objects and then went further afield, ignoring the GPS completely as it was being useless. Spotted the cache in a spot which didn't match the hint and it was inhabited with all kinds of little critters. This cache could really do with some TLC, sorry I didn't bring a spare container and logbook. Replaced where we found it and left feeling satisfied. TFTPC!

Fairy tricky to find, lots of tree cover confusing the GPS (and us!) but managed to locate it Ok. No pencil and we didn't have one with us - rookie mistake! Smile

Thanks for setting this up.

Wow!it took some time to locate but got it in the end Smile great cach

24-Mar-13
Solved the puzzle yesterday and our last cache of the weekend, hoped for a quick find, particularly as it hadn't been found this year. On approach to GZ we split up, thinking the gps would be all over the place. Only a matter of minutes until those 2 words were shouted out 'found it'! Cache in good condition, signed log and hit the road back to the Shore, happy not to have too many cutty grass injuries, tftc

28-Dec-12
Solved back home ready for the next trip to Auckland. Got a huge surprise to see TheWranglers, another Christchurch cacher, had signed the log the day before! Small world! Another nice day of Caching in Auckland, and another neat park I've now visited! Thanks for the hide

27-Dec-12
Took a bit of searching and hacking to get the required coords for this one. Recognised what was needed quickly but the usual tools didn't recognise the item. Got it in the end. GZ was great, went for a dawn walk and had place to myself cool history of this spot, lived the name. Took a bit to locate. Not used to this sharp grass got a few cuts across the knuckles. Minor inconvenience since cache was found and log signed. Thanks for the puzzle and cache. Day 91 of our streak.

Solved this puzzle ages ago and decided to head out here in my lunchbreak to close this one off. Before leaving for my lunch, i familiarised myself with some of the previous logs, hoping that i would have enough time to walk in and find this. I parked at the designated parking coords and enjoyed the lovely walk through the bush to GZ. There are many paths to choose from, but the maps on the GPS guided me all the way to GZ. Arriving at GZ, i had a good hunt around as the GPS was going crazy under the tree cover. This way, that way, checking out all the likely hiding spots. It wasn't until i started heading back abit, i spotted the cache, partly exposed and fill to the brim with water. The hole in the side of the cache is not helping to keep the water out and the log is completely saturated. I found an old business card in my wallet and wrote my name on the back of that as proof of visiting. This cache definately is in need of maintenance! I drained the water out as best i could. Made it back to work in just over an hour. Thanks for the adventure, puzzle and the cache! Big Grin[:D}

I looked at this cache a while back, coincidently after I placed a somewhat similar multi-cache near where I live, but I never sat down to solve it. I decided a trip out to Mission Bay sounded fun this evening so I pulled it up and used some apps on my iPad to get the coordinates. I like the twist on this one...very clever. I read the logs as I was walking to GZ and was prepared for a long search, but after about five minutes I turned from what I thought was a likely hiding place and spotted the container. Thanks for the puzzle and TFTC!

Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.

Solved the puzzle easily the other day, came to find it today, walked around in the bush for quite a while with a bouncing gps, almost gave up when we stumbled across it.

Thanks for the cache

Had no problem knowing what was needed but have only recently had the necessary equipment. The puzzle then took a twist which was soon solved. The cache was found after a rather embarrassingly long hunt and as others have indicated it was almost a case of giving up and then stumbling upon it. The hole in the outer container, as claimed by a previous finder, is not actually affecting the contents. NINO TFTC

GPS was all over the show today, but after a decent search I stumbled across it. Cache container is broken and needs replacing.

# 5541 - 5570
Found during the last day our vacation in North Island, on a day dedicated to find and claim the mysteries solved prior our trip to NZ.
It was a great day for caching in Auckland and around.
No problem knowing what to do to solve this puzzle but it took us a few tries to actually find the box on the GZ!

Found it finally! Stopped looking too hard and there it was! I may have gripped the container too hard and it now has a nice hole in the side. Log book is still safe in its baggie. Very sorry.

Finally can tick this one off as a find with a hint or 2 from Sonia and with the added help of Caboose014's eagle eyes! I am pretty sure we have walked right past this several times!!! TFTC

Solved this one last month at work. Yup... that's what I do at work when I'm 'working'... but then again, who doesn't? Was a bit confused at first, but quickly clicked.

Added it to the list of 'I will pick this up puzzles'.

But, yesterday I brought a car. I now officially have motorised transportation!!! Smile So, I had fun going for a drive, picking up caches along the way. Am attempting to clear out all the solved puzzles, one at a time, and this was the first.

Now I know the mission of finding a park. Was looking the whole street, but it was too thin, ah, and here we go. And within 100m too! Smile But then came the bush bash. Nothing too bad, had I not being so eager about going, that I forgot to change out of work clothes, and I forgot to put normal shoes on, I only had jandals.

Had a bit of a mission searching around, but on the second loop round, the cache was spotted! Heck, I must have pretty much just walked straight over it before!

TFTC and the puzzle!! Smile

We have been looking for this tricky little cache 3 times so far, we are sure we are in the right location but just can't find it, gps is jumping all over the place which makes it even harder, anyone care to give us an extra hint!?

Solved the puzzle last night and headed out this morning to collect. Nice walk to GZ and then spent a lot of time looking - very close to giving up then came across the cache - scratches and cuts to prove it Big Grin. A little unsure how the clue relates to the cache Big Grin. TFTC

Finally found it. A lengthy route was taken to solve the puzzle (no modern gadgets for avoyager) until finally got a result. Off to GZ on a rather dismal overcast day a few weeks back left us empty handed and a DNF. Had searched everywhere - well clearly not everywhere... Back today with renewed vigour as we had taken a hint from Lost Course. The hint put us in the general area but coords were well out for us so the GPS became an extraneous item. Nothing for it but to do a grid search to find the needle in the haystack. As time passed frustration then set in with the likelihood of another DNF looming. Just couldnt find it. Lost Course's hint was quickly becoming a lost cause for us. But, knowing the cache was there somewhere, a lot of to-ing and fro-ing was undertaken, plenty of mutterings, and heavy sighs until Big GrinBig Grin it was found. Such relief. TFTC, and the puzzle. Learned a lot.

Well, this completes the set. All sww hides have been collected. This one has been outstanding for many months. I had no problem working out how to solve the puzzle and what the steps to a successful solution entailed, I just could not find a tool to perform one of the required functions. Anyway, team avoyager mentioned that they had solved the puzzle (though not completed the find) and had used an arcane way to complete the missing step. Using their method I was soon able to convert the data into coordinates. Stopped by the Dell today in hopes of completing the formalities. Gee this little bush has a lot of paths. After playing an extended game of pick-a-path I was at GZ. Easy find today. I think I got a little lucky, as I could spy the slightly exposed cache from some distance away, despite the undergrowth. Coords did seem pretty good, however. Signed the log and applied a little more natural camo before departing into the maze of paths. Cheers for the puzzle and the cache!

Nice one. Solved the puzzle a little while ago. I have seen similar codes used before but it took a little while to work out the extra added dimension to this one. A neat little walk to GZ too. No problems with the find that a teeny little bush bash couldn't fix. Cache exactly where it should be and coordinates pretty good considering the bush cover. TFTC, Biggles.

GPS all over the place for this one. Spent 45mins hunting, couldnt even find the hint location so a DNF for this one. Was like looking for a needle in a wet haystack. Will return when next in the area, so on the watchlist for now.

The puzzle took a LOT longer than the find. Just beat the rain. Big Grin TFTC

puzzle solved really quickly, GPS all over the place, but when settled at GZ we couldnt find what the hint was referring to, (as per other logs). widened the search but too many flighty-bitey things around to linger too long.

Have not come across this form of encoding before. Managed to get a set of co-ords after a bit of research. Made the find today in an area we have not explored before. Cache hide needs attention, as it is no longer able to be hidden as per the hint due to a few changes at GZ. Thanks for the puzzle and TFTC.

This took a bit of head-scratching to work out, but it wasnt until I took positive action that it all made sense. The cords and the hint were spot-on and the cache was an easy find. Thanks.

We have been there and found nothing. I think this cache is probably dead [xx(]Sad.

Nice to be able at last to sign this cache off at last

after solving it ages ago. I well remember this park

as I used to orienteer here at least once a year when

I lived in Auckland, much to the consternation of one

of the locals who always used to come down and remove

the controls that were placed at this end of the park.
