TFTC, Out for a day caching with Cachefinders2 from Sydney, thankyou madstars for the series. Must have been a virtual as we didn't want to disturb the great warrior. Checked the obvious places but came up with nothing so took photo.
Travelling through the area and dropped in on this one in company with Team AJKW, took a photo but not sure how to attach it to this log.
not listed as virtual? note caches with additional logging eg photos are not allowed now? but thanks for the visit
this guy is popular thats for sure..

Pt. Stephens Invasion.3. At first I spent ages looking for a container, but then reading all the notes I realised it was not there and another photo was in order. Thanks.

Found as part of the the McWinTrexO'n team cache invasion tour of the region. A late night visit to a cemetry what could possibly go wrong.!!

As McPhan said, I had never heard of Les Darcy but I am now much better informed. An interesting and moving story. Found the location in the dark, late in the evening. RexTrex will provide a team photo, but his logging seems to be lagging even further than mine! Thanks MADSTARS.
To save the pride of Team McWinTrexON, I am pleased to provide a picture of our massed GPSr's furiously sucking in satellite signals, Les's highly revered last resting place, and an indeterminate set of McPhan knees. Choose whichever you like to focus your meditation on - as I felt like doing at this untimely hour of the evening - being long past my bedtime.
Loved the yarn and the hero MADSTARS, and did the other Les caches later on, thanks.

2172. My companions were not entirely aware of this other Australian icon killed by the yanks (and if you claim Phar Lap as one of yours Rex you will also have to claim Russell Crowe!) Okay it's a stretch to say they actively did him in but a pattern had emerged - Australian Champion expiring in the US of A.
The Bushwackers did a song about Les Darcy many moons ago but I don't appear to be able to find it online.
TFTC and the tribute. Photo requirement will be met by BigON and/or RexTrex as part of the McWinTrexON expedition.

while at the GZ we bumped into another cacher , strangly without a GPS... you see these people from time to time found with Tankengine, Tealby and Sol de lune on our Caching invasion from Canberra.
Part of our Newcastle/Port Stephens invasion from Canberra...
An interesting round of caches - well done.

This seemed like a fitting end to the series. While we were here we saw another person approaching with a sense of purpose & sure enough it was another cacher - I think it was missy18 who has been taking on the challenge of caching without a GPS which always amazes me (I have enough trouble with a GPS!) - it's always good to meet another cacher in the field.

Found as part of the Canberra Invasion to Newcastle/Nelsons Bay/Port Stephens and surrounding areas with Tealby, Tankengine and Mtrax. This one was day one and with our over night accommodation at Raymond Terrace, we hit Maitland on the way through.
The end of this series of caches, and of course we got sprung. Always good to meet another cacher in the field.
Thanks MADSTARS......a good fun little series.

A lot history around this cache.
We asked permission & received it to take our photo shot.

Once again, caught out by the trap of hunting for a container when there isn't one. Will upload the photos for Moneydork and I tomorrow when I get them off my phone. Cheers Gav [4015]
Took us a while to work out that this iks no longer a physical cache. Rediguana will provide the required info fro our visit
The final Round. A great tribute to a great Australian sportsman. An excellent series. Well thought out and executed. A bit punch drunk after all these rounds. I think it was the knock down late in the fifth that did the damage but made it to the final bell. Thanks Madstars. RIP Les Darcy
We found but not ! we have pics, log them from home, Thanx for showing us this place !
We live in the local area so we've been completely aware of the existance of Les Darcy's grave site for a long time now, just never bothered to get out and have a good look... so TFTC. Took pics as requested.
Finally got a chance to grab this one after we couldn't find it when it went missing yonks ago. TFTC
We drive past this cemetery on a regular basis but have never stopped before. Took photo as requested. TFTC
With this series of caches there will be more people remember Les than if there was none.
Well done MADSTARS on a fantastic series. (Now only got Round 1 to do and the series will be complete)

I had no idea that Les Darcy was a Maitland boy until we did these caches. Loved the whole series.
2134.
Found this one on the way around the area. A top series, I had no idea about Les until this one.
Thanks MADSTARS for the cache.

Found this "round" first -closest to home.Took photo but not downloaded .Thanks madstars for the Les Darcy series.I've worked near maitland for 10years and was very ignorant of this history.
Last in the series, but the second one for us. Second cache for the day with trains passing by.
Thanks Madstars.
Thanks Madstars.
Found at 11:50 - the first of my day's caching around Maitland with Gibbo McCool.
We decided to do this series because it sounded interesting (and was). We did do it the wrong way round though, but I don't think it made a difference (caching-wise, at least)...
Thanks MADSTARS

I am going on a Queensland Holiday and will not be able to replace this one for all the Christmas Cachers.
People can log this cache if you provide a photo of the Grave.
The more Arty the photo the more brownie points.
Enjoy....

After some serious praying to find the cache it was determined that the cache has been muggled out of the cracks. It is amazing how much we drive passed little things every day not noticing.

We spent considerable time looking around for this one after waiting out a massive downpour but couldn't come up with the goods. Thanks for the history and we'll keep tabs on the cache page and give it another whirl soon.
Cheers

Hi all, sorry for any confusion, I was just really excited to get this series up and running and forgot to proof read my final write-up. I have adjusted the write-up on the "SIX ROUNDS WITH LES DARCY" cache series as some stated "eight" rounds instead of "six". The series was originally going to be "EIGHT ROUNDS WITH LES DARCY" and I do plan on adding another 2 rounds to this series in the future. Thanks to everyone for the feedback on the series. MRS MADSTARS

This was our first find, 12:00pm P/H Monday pouring rain but the young fella was all excited because he was the one to find it. Thanks Madstars we'll be looking for the others soon.
16:01 Moments before a short spell of torrential rain put a dampener on my immediate hunting plans I did manage to make this find. No-one about. Interesting place, I love graveyard caching Signed log and ran back to car in the rain.

FTF!!!!! I thought it was unfair if I didn't leave it a couple of days before attempting list cache, seeing as I'm one of MADSTARS mates, and it would look suss if I posted it on the day it was listed. But, as it turns out I get the FTF anyway, wippee!!
I already knew the story of Les Darcy before MADSTARS laid out this, and the other 5 caches in the series, but I enjoyed reading the cache description and finding the caches all the same. Thanks for the cache mate.
Cheers,
Pensive
p.s. Good to see someone else using nano caches at long last.

Well that was nice of you to leave it a few days to find the caches Pensive...... but come on be honest..... you did beg us to wait until the weekend to publish them so that you would be back from your 'business trip' and try to clock up some FTF!!! Don't you remember..... MRS MADSTARS
1310 Ah! So it was Pensive Travellers, and Fattyacid that I ended up following around today. When I saw the caches pop up last night I thought I'd have a go, and maybe even get A first to find; but not a one! Ugh! The joys of living further away than some (and not being a premium member I suppose).
Took a 'few' minutes longer as I was kneeling for the wrong person. But there you go.
Brought through my Bridge2bridge Travel Ingot (yes, it would still fit in this cache); got to give it some miles and smiles
Thanks for the series; will there by 8 some day?
