We were heading home from the Mega base camp (a day early) and I was following a very slow driver down the hill. Seeing this cache on my gpsr, I pulled off the road to put some distance between us.
I walked up to the less than salubrious GZ where humans have wrought a terrible carnage of waste and destruction. What a pigsty! I was about to leave when I saw the cache lying broken with contents strewn amongst the rubbish. Putting the bag with a card (which I signed)back inside and reconnected the sistema lid and base. I rehid the cache in a stump that seemed to give it some protection.
Now I read that the cache has been archived there is no need to post an NM. Thanks for the cache happychappies, Im sure it was once a beautiful spot to bring cachers to. The view is still fab over the reservoir.

01-Jul-17
The environment here certainly isn't what it used to be, so not really something to draw people to. We'll archive.

01-Jul-17
The amount of rubbish was horrendous - people are terrible. As others have said log is very wet

26-Jun-17
Found this afternoon. Log and cache water damaged. Looks like there has been a party nearby lots of empty bottles. Tftc.

18-Jun-17
On our way to Alexandra to catch up with friends, quick stop on the way, log saturated, couldn't sign, TFTC

10-Jun-17
Great clue. Sad to see place full of rubbish. Be careful of black berry vines. Cache very wet and mouldy. Carved name on last page. Might pay to bring a bigger more waterproof alternative and zip lock. Love the view sad that park next door has been destroyed by wind. TFTC

30-May-17
Bit confused as apart from one comment in April that the log book would need replacing 'soon', I can't see any problems indicated with this cache in recent months. Sure, a few reports of rubbish being dumped in the area but that's out of our control and more of an observation than a complaint.

We'll drop by next time we're swinging by, but it doesn't appear to be out of sorts currently.

30-May-17
Cache maintenance is a cache owner responsibility and includes regular visits to the cache to ensure it is in proper working order, especially when a seeker reports a problem with the cache.

Based on a couple of the previous logs, perhaps it's time for the CO to make a visit to this cache.

23-Apr-17
Great lookout! It's unfortunate that this area seems to be used by locals as a bit of a rubbish dumping area but it didn't interfere with my caching. The cache is in good condition, but the log book is almost full and will need to be replaced soon. I was pleased to see another Happy Chappies cache I didn't know about! TFTC Smile

Easter Sunday and looking for a great place for a drive in the mountains. Beautiful scenery and a cache or two... today's trip ticked all the boxes!

Our last find for the day as the sun set over the water, such a beautiful view.

Thanks to Happy Chappies for maintaining this cache.

Mrs Welder and I wandered over to Healesville today for a late indulgent afternoon breakfast.
After a wonderful meal we went looking for our cache of the day. I was actually quite surprised that there weren't too many caches available close to town. Still, this one fitted the bill nicely and had the added advantage of a gorgeous view over the reservoir.
On arrival, a few muggles were fiddling about with their vehicle near GZ, so Mrs Welder and I took the opportunity to work on our very amateurish photography skills until they left. With the scene then at my full disposal, I ventured down to GZ and followed a vague trail into a landscape strewn with dumped rubbish that seemed to have accumulated over some years. I can't believe I actually walked right past the hide! And yet, I couldn't believe it had endured here for nearly a decade. While I signed in a few more muggles arrived parking their vehicles right on top of my position. I felt somewhat vulnerable but they were oblivious to my presence. It took me longer than it should have to replace the camo to a satisfactory level. By the time I was done, the nearest muggles had left and the remainder were conveniently preoccupied enabling my exit.
Thanks, Happy Chappies, for inviting us to check out this gorgeous view.

Thanks for the find! Shame about all the rubbish. We left a trackable Smile

I was driving to Eildon from the eastern suburbs and wanted to stop and stretch my legs before hitting the Black Spur for the first time. I had been given the impression this was a difficult stretch of road, so really wanted to give myself the opportunity to get my wits about me before heading off into the unknown. Nice view here, but that wasn't my mission just yet, first I wanted to find a cache. Off I went, past a pile of rubbish, hoping the cache wasn't amongst it. Nope, it was further on. Good. Quickly found the cache, and with signing duties done, I returned to the car to take in the view. Upon my emergence from the scrub I noticed a car had pulled up in my absence. A group of young girls were there, taking selfies. I assisted them in capturing a nice picture before they piled back into the car and headed off. I followed suit not long after, and found that I was through the spur before I realised it! Pfft, that wasn't so bad afterall [:p] TFTC, it's a nice spot!

04-Nov-16
Out for a fantastic caching weekend with some very special friends. This was one that we found on our travels. Many thanks to all the COs that helped make it a very happy caching trip.

04-Nov-16
Found with Zobo04, Hearse068, BorisB&Natasha and Bounty on our way to do the Lake Eildon Geo Tour. we were trying to do as many caches along the way so I could get in front of KTCvic, whom we would meet up with later. This is one of the caches we found along the way. OMG it look like a tip here some people are just feral. TFTC

04-Nov-16
Log was stamped as Geo Nerds consisting of Gonefishen07,Borisb&Natasha, Hearse068, Zobo04, and myself Bounty Trackers.

Gonefishen came up with the plan of doing the Lake Eioldon Geo Tour before it was gone, so we all agreed, Lets get up there and do it.
KTCvic was straight on to booking a place that would sleep 10 people in Bonnie Doon for our 2 night stay.
Gonefishen Borisb&natasha and Hearse068 and myself all meet up in Pakenham so we could cache our way up while DeJaVu and KTCvic where coming up later as they had to work. BorisB&natasha gave the keys to the Prado as she wanted to be a lady of leisure and be chauffeured.
We laughed all the way and just had a fantastic weekend away with great friends, cant wait until the next adventure.
signed log thanks for the cache.

Our last cache on the way back to Melbourne, this one hidden near a popular rubbish dumping area. This one is a bit of a shrine amongst the bush here.

A fairly easy find here - thanks Happy Chappies for the placement here.

Good spot sad people are so wrong with there rubbish wife found it first

29-Aug-16
Was fairly quick to find and then the muggles appeared .. Signed the log quick and then walked out the other side - probably looked like we were dumping rubbish - it's disgusting how people have done that

28-Aug-16
Quick find. The rubbish is not fantastic but Adventure-Naut2 quickly had cache in hand.

26-Aug-16

With Zedaycee and Angelique Anja.

17-Jul-16
The geofam decided late last night that a trip to the snow was in order so we got up early(ish) and set off to Lake Mountain, the goto spot for those that aren't that into the snow but like a toboggan and a snow fight and/or snowman. I had picked out a few caches that I could drive by and collect that I had missed on previous trips and this was the first. I had stopped by for the view before caching and it remains a nice spot for south east lovers to stop on by. tftc

**Big Grin Smile # *3765* / Traditional # *2920* Big Grin**

The geo family had planned a trip away a few weeks ago so it was up to me to notice a few caches along the way for us to grab. This was the first stop in the morning. A great view, cold, crisp morning with the sun trying to break through. This cache gave me a little trouble in finding. There was so much rubbish around, tough terrain and a GPSr that wanted me somewhere else. I expanded the search area and finally locate the container. Signed and replaced as found.

**Thanks for this trad cache, Happy Chappies** [^]
**Cache container and log good in good condition**
**Took Nothing, Left signature**

Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! We are currently at the end of the first section of our journey, which started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island, before heading to Melbourne (where we are at present) via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier, Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, having crammed in as much as possible on route. From Melbourne we will be heading to Tasmania for a few days, then back to Melbourne before setting off to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. After a visit to Sydney we will travel on to the Gold Coast, then after spending a few days in the nearby mountainous birding hotspots, followed by an overnight trip to Fraser Island, we will fly from Brisbane to Cairns, visiting yet more good birding sites. We will then drive up to Cape Tribulation before heading back south again to Port Douglas and a day out on the Great Barrier Reef. We then return to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs, where we will hire a 4x4 camper and set off for a week on the circuit to and from Kings Canyon and Ayers Rock. We then fly to Darwin from where we will spend the last two weeks of our holiday making our way to Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Emma Gorge, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!

The clue made sense on arriving at Ground Zero and helped us home in on a nice quick find. Thanks so much for the cache.

06-May-16
It's a bit messy here with illegal and lazy rubbish dumping, but I scrambled down to it. What was the cross for, does anybody know?

25-Apr-16
After a morning in at the shrine I wanted to make the most of the day so we headed up to Marysville for a day out. On the way i stopped in here to grab this cache found pretty easily TFTC

25-Apr-16
Found it! Second find for today as we headed out on a bit of an adventure with Vanessa&Aodh and Lukie1987. We arrived at the lookout to find it totally deserted meaning we wouldnt look to sus during our search. As Luke had previously found this one a few years ago he occupied himself by calling out hints that as there were 3 of us looking were somewhat confusing as we didnt know he he was calling out to. Finally we found it after we found the cross, glad to finally get this one as we have had a couple feeble dnf's on it in the past...TFTC...

25-Apr-16
Beautiful views on this gorgeous autumn Anzac day. We went down to look for this, and lukie1987 had found this before and gave hints. I took a bum steer and went back up again, and Mark&Kelly soon made the find on a cache that they'd DNFed before. Huzzah for us. Onwards now, thanks Happy Chappies.

24-Apr-16
ziggiau read out the hint to me and I worked out where to go pretty quickly. A bit of rubbish about but still safe at the GZ, I've been to far worse.

24-Apr-16
A lovely lookout but no lovers about today, just a few muggle tourists taking photos just like us.

24-Apr-16
Thanks for bringing us to this beautiful spot.

23-Apr-16
Love stopping at a good look out and having a cache to bring us here. It was great weather and a prefect place for a leg stretch. Hint made short work of the find. Visited TBs. Thanks Happy Chappies.

17-Apr-16
Great view from the carpark. Cache spot unfortunately shows the worst side of us humans.

17-Apr-16
Tftc. Great view from car park but not where cache is.

13-Apr-16
Cruising through the area we decided it was time to stop and stretch the legs so it was a quick glance on the phone to find our closest cache and this happened to be it.
Wow what a great view! Think we picked the right one to stop at - we took a few photos that'll go straight to the pool room Wink
Unfortunately GZ wasn't so pretty due to filthy humans dropping waste!
If only the muggles would leave caches alone so we could put them in the pretty parts....
Thanks for the fun Happy Chappies [^]

Due to a lot of rubbish in the area including household furniture and broken bottles and cans it would be a good idea to relocate the clue and cache to a more suitable location in the same vicinity.

19-Mar-16
On a road trip to Marysville and what is a road trip without doing a few caches along the way. Despite a lot of rubbish in the area this was a little more challenging and I think the hint was strewn by Mugglers which did not help. Fortunately the cache itself was very traditionally camouflaged which made it an easy find. Maintenance request to be sent to owner to relocate the clue and cache to a more suitable location in the same vicinity. TFTC TNLN

TFTC. The hint said this stump is cross, is it cross because this pull-off and parking area is a rubbish dumping area for the locals. Found the cache amongst a heap of rubbish. Great views of the dam. Cheers.
