While camping at Gordon Country we headed off to explore the local area via way of the nearby geocaches. Our camp spot was only a couple of hundred meters from here so while TG was relaxing there I went for a quick stroll and found this one.All was good with it. I had a few local muggle cows watching me near GZ but they didn't see where the cache was hidden. TFTC
Glamping here at Gordon Country. Collected.after a shoe removal exercise. Plenty of hidey places for it to be. Took a turn around the log to locate. Thanks for giving us something else to do here.
Nice one. Unfortunately the cache log book container is damaged and full of water. No spare with me. Used the back of a sticker in the collectables container as a log.
Were camping here at Gordon Country for the Easter long weekend. Had downloaded a few of the local caches before we arrived. Were heading off to 4wd today. Group of 5 4WDs. Nice easy one to grab at the start of the day. Found with Billy and AliOTFTC.
Always a good little show happening in the playpen, especially in the afternoons!Easy find, tftc!Found with Gorjess and Ali
Camping close by at Gordon Country at the Black Cockatoo, decided to cross the river climb up the embankment for some little bush bashing. We then followed the road up through the playpen to find GZ - was an obvious quick find with my caching brain.
After eventually finding the correct route to this cache, we were able to drive very close to GZ. Thanks for placing Cheers
After finding the right road to take in, we crossed the very dry creek and were stopped by a beautiful red belly black snake slithering across the path. Once clear we headed up the tracks and pulled up pretty close to GZ. Cache found without issue and we signed our names.Tftc GraKez
Tftc. This was a little tricky with the gps pointing us away, but got it in the end.
The Unseen University has gates of octiron, and single-minded Bledlows to perform the Ceremony of the Keys every night.
After a creek crossing, the high road was taken and we were at GZ before we knew it. Thanks GraKez and happy caching
Many, many times I have driven the Cunningham Highway and never explored just here to the north. I've heard good things about Gordon Country but nope, neglected it. Just 36 hours before the weekend, I made a snap decision to book camping here on a solo adventure and grab the little clump of geocaches out this way.
Having gotten my tiny hatchback very muddy getting into The Retreat campground, then up to Castle Mountain Lookout and back, I decided to tackle the two remaining of the Gordon series. This first.
I had no issues sussing out the entrance to the area. Catfish Cove crossing is close off the main road and I had a look at it. I am 90% sure my car with it's manual gearbox and short wheelbase, but road tyres and open diff could have made it. But I ultimately decided it wasn't worth the risk and the walk would be good too.
The car was left at the turnoff, and I wandered in. Shoes and socks off to cross the creek and I followed the packed mud trails getting towards GZ. The area was mega busy and I mostly wandered along through grass to avoid traffic. I climbed up the last little hill near GZ and peered into the Playpen. Oh my there was a lot of diesel, clutches and rubber being burned in there.
For a few minutes I watched folks testing out their assorted vehicles before growing more interested in the geocache a few metres away. Finding it was not hard, and tucked into the hole are now two containers. The original is long worn out, but the newer replacement going well and dry inside. Just before 15:00 I signed my name and replaced all as found.
On my way back, I found a dry-feet route across the creek. And then the herd of cattle arrived for a drink and to cause a traffic jam at the creek crossing. No issue for me as I walked on back to my awaiting car. Thanks for this geocache, GraKez

Another day out with Peppa and TMZ59 and have headed west to find a few caches needing a 4wd.
After navigating through the rough track for the other cache, we have made our way up to this cache. Certainly some erosion on the way in and didn't want to get stuck here. Peppa made the find. SL then returned as found. On the way out we checked out the camping sites for a possible camp for our 4wd club.
Found on 13 June 2022. TFTC, GraKez.

Patrol14 and I were coming back from the Sunshine Coast last night and were speaking to TMZ59 about going caching… we settled on today, and being in the Habernaro Sport a drive to Gordon Country and Warwick seemed ideal… well for me anyway…
There’s this crazy challenge cache in Brisbane that requires caches with a couple of attributes and the Gordon Country caches tick the boxes…
Being a Monday we couldn’t get a day pass so elected to visit anyway with a credit card at the ready should we need it…
One significant creek crossing and we were close to GZ… I got to see the Playpen before moving down to the cache… a quick find in the logical location…

Found cache and signed log. Returned cache as found. Out with patrol14, and Peppa. Beautiful day for finding a cache or two. What a lovely area. May have to come camping here with our 4WD Club. Lots of fun for everyone. We have a list and we will follow it . TFTC.
Another good cache found with woolwood9 today.Enjoyed the fun drive around.SL *tm/ww NZ*
Armed with our day pass, we now had free run of the park and headed off along the 4wd track towards this cache. Just one shallow creek crossing before we parked up and took a short walk towards the cache. This countryside sure is looking beautiful and green at the moment.
Onwards to GZ and we quickly found the cache. As previously mentioned it has a hole. The logbook is quite sodden now (even our powertank pen was unable to write on it and just tore the paper). We came prepared with another container and log which we added to the existing one. The original logbook we left here in the outer cache - hoping it might dry out.
Replaced the cache back where it was and retraced our steps.
A lovely morning was had here before driving further on to the National Park.
Thank you GraKez.

Fangsoki, Radnoski and I were camping at Goomburra for New Years. Today was the day to pack up and head home, so after breaky we pulled everything down and loaded the cars up then headed to Gordon at Height before making our way to this one, our last stop before the journey homewards.
We parked the cars near the campgrounds sign suggesting only Gordon Country Campers could go any further in vehicle and disembarked to begin the walk. While Fangsoki waited on that side of the creek, Radnoski and I removed shoes and crossed the creek before donning them again and continuing the journey. We did approach from rather a round about way, and were required to do one more creek crossing first, however this one was dry. Then up and across past where it looks like the 4WDs just like playing some sort of rally sport games, before completing the journey to GZ, scaring a few skittish cows along the way.
Container looks like it has seen better days - there is a hole in the side of it, which is no doubt where the burrowing cockroach made its grand entrance, and logbook has definitely had periods of being soaked and is now a little brittle - however we managed to make our mark and replace. This one may need some attention soon however.
Then we headed back to the car, a much easier way - well for me at least, with one creek crossing and coming out not far from the car at all. Radnoski decided not to take the crossing where I suggested and from my vantage point back with Fangsoki it seemed like he was just going to continue trekking for an eternity. Finally he made it back to us, and we began our journey homeward.
Thanks for the cache GraKez.

Camping out here this weekend with family and friends. A few of us decided to do a little 4wdriving and thankfully the track past right by gz. Cache still in place but the container is cactus, split, leaking with damaged contents. In need of some tlc.

Found this cache with my Amazing Geo-Wife KaleidoscopeCass during our 6 day roadtrip starting off with the Geocaching for Newbies event held at Widgee, Qld. Cache was found and signed and logged, Thanks for placing this cache and being a part of our journey!
Second find of the day with geohubby WallabyTim. We didn't have reception to read the previous log, only the GPS to find it, otherwise we would have made plans for a new container and log. Just like the previous finder, we "signed" (or etched is probably more like it) the wet log. Photo attached for further proof as signatures probably won't last. Hope the cache can be fixed soon as it's magic country to visit. TFTC
Thanks for this one. Container had a hole in it, the log is very wet but was able to sign on the wet paper. To prove it I took a photo. Next person should bring another container and log to replace. Otherwise the cache owner needs to do maintenance on this cache.
Jess and I have taken the day off (no, we are not calling it wagging, lol) for some nature therapy and bonding time. We headed south to this area and stopped here for a wander.
What a neat area to go for a walk. Jess decided there were plenty of great photo opportunities, from bees on flowers to tree trunks to duck foot prints in the mud in the creek.
We made our way to GZ and I found the cache and signed the log while Jess was taking the perfect picture of something or other.
Thanks for the cache, GraKez!

After taking a walk around Cascades Circuit and Ridge Track with teamdfl, I decided to visit the three nearby Gordon Country Series caches on my way home.
I had some trouble finding the best way in to this area, but eventually worked out where I'd need to cross the creek, and had a pleasant wander out to GZ. The cache was a pretty quick find. TFTC, GraKez.

Up in Gordon country for the Easter long weekend camping with the family. This one was a very interesting find. The ol pootrol got me up the hills and bouncy rocky road with no problems. It's a very interesting 4WD course up here lots of climbs n stuff also watch out for bees there are some bee hives near the gz. Owner should check this cache log needs replacing tftc and for bringing me and the pootrol up here
While camping at Goomburra, my mum mnance101, my brother mazza151, my muggle Dad and myself decided to find this cache. Nice walk through the cold creek. My brother and I were a bit scared of the cows. TFTC!

The cache was totally full of water due to a hole in the outer container. I emptied the water out. Unfortunately we didn't take another container with us to replace it. I added another piece of paper and signed it. However this piece of paper will probably end up drenched too unless the cache is replaced.
The current goal for Kestal and I is to fill in our calendar which is getting a little difficult locally so being a weekend and both needing today we decided to take the opportunity to go for a drive. Kestal has been itching to clear out the last few caches in this area. We left Tba bright and early and were treated to a stunning sunrise. With a fair bit of water lying around and a light drizzle still persisting we decided to head for this one first taking the long way in. Very quiet in the campground with the wet weather and at this hour as we skirted around the campsites, along the creek and then across. Dozens of bee hives presently in the vicinity of GZ and the air was thick with the smell of honey and we could hear the low buzzing of the inhabitants still in the hives. Quick find and we were on our way. Thanks GraKez.
Headed to the area after a change in plans and then deciding the weather wouldn't stop us. This was going to be our second stop but with rain sprinkling we changed goals and headed to this one first. With the maps not loading properly we were just following the compass point. Eventually we got there and made the find. Have to have a smiley here and another calendar day filled in. TFTC GraKez
Fairly easy find & not as strenuous as Gordon at Heights. Got it on the way to camp - a 12km round trip.
Camping at Gordon Country for a week. What a great area! Out on the mountain bikes to nab this cache. TFTC

Fangsoki, Sweet_bee, La Kedi, Dosshell and I took a drive in the country this fine day, and for reasons I never quite actually asked about we drove to here. It's not far from home. Really. After some earlier walks we were happy to let the Powerful Purple Paj strut his stuff for us.
Having shown off power, the PPP now turned sniffer to find the right way in. "Bull Hole" didn't show on our radar (till on our way out), but we did eventually find a track to GZ and a quick easy reveal awaited.
I took a good look at the log and decided that it was as solid as concrete stairs, I didn't notice Dosshell, he's quite.[^]
Thanks for placing this cache, GraKez. Found in good condition.

After locating the correct camping site and doing another impression of the Leyland brothers we parked closed to GZ.
I was silently praying the dodgy log I was standing on would collapse to freak out fangsoki, alas it did not occur...

La Kedi, Sweet_bee, Pprime, Dosshell, and I tackled this one next.
We approached from the wrong campsite initially. Thankfully Prime had this all sorted.
Crumbs - the roads in here are very average. I didn't need to engage 4WD but I certainly had to pick the right paths to get to GZ. We parked up and lumbered out.

What a wonderful camping area Gordon Country is. This cache was hidden a mere 4 minute stroll from where we were camped. The kids can claim the find on this one! Thanks for the cache GraKez. TNLNSL.
This one did it's best to not be found, but pig headed determination won out.
First issue - a rather rocky and maybe a bit too deep creek crossing. The little lancer was not up to this one sadly. Even worse it was a wade through the very cold, knee deep creek for me to be able to get to GZ.
Not too far to walk thankfully, but then 150m to go and the batteries on the GPSr go flat. [:o)] Sigh.
Okay I was heading directly towards GZ. Start to pace it out. About 50m from where I estimated GZ to be I spied a likely spot. Phew, there's the cache. I did ot want to have to go back to the car for batteries and wade the creek an extra two times.

(Sorry, it appears my original, well crafted and witty log that I published has disappeared into the ether).[:(!]
After a few wrong turns we eventually found the right track to GZ. Always wanting to take the direct approach I negotiated my new Prado as close to GZ as I thought it would go. Unfortunately I found myself on a 4WD playground track and in an attempt to extricate myself got myself into a small but challenging little descent for a novice 4WDer. Swellerfungus was having a right old laugh and made sure he positioned his car right up my clacker so I couldn't back out. After getting out safely I decided to park up and just walk the rest of the way to the cache. No problems with the find. TFTC.

Found in a group outing. We had quite an adventure at GZ with seffnjarah taking the more challenging (and unnecessary) option in his new 4WD. 'Twas somewhat sphincter twitching, but the safe result provided fuel for lots of laughs afterward.

Watching the Prado take to the hills was so funny. As the driver extraordinaire faced up to the hill he had a gleam of mischievousness in his eyes, followed by a look of 'oh god, what have I gotten myself into here....'. I am sue there is a need to get those seat covers dry cleaned (or indeed replaced) as those stains aren't going anywhere.
A nice easy stroll up to the cache, with the cache visible from 30 meters away slightly out in the open. We hid it a little better before leaving.
Thanks GraKez

Had a nice wander up from our lovely creek side camping spot. Our first trip to this lovely spot and certainly not our last. Well worth the drive. Found the cache containers out in the open but unharmed. Rehid in the obvious spot. Thanks for bringing us here.
Thnx for the cache

Headed over to GZ in the 4WD and within seconds the cache was in hand. Nice easy find here in the beautiful Gordon Country. What a day! Love sunny Qld this time of year. Thanks for the cache GraKez
Found by Sunshine Toledo, Her Majesty, Dawso, Burger, Scampy and Turtle at 10:45am while staying at Gordon Country. The cache was found quite quickly and it's in good condition. What a great place to camp and to do some 4 wheel driving. We were driving round these rocks and the quarry just yesterday. TFTC
Doing a spot of 4WDing in the playground and this one was real close by so grabbed it. TFTC
After camping in the car over night nearby it was time to go caching again. After I got the ice off the windscreen.
I have heard about this area but never visited it before. It definitely looks like some awesome country to go camping in.
After a little rock hopping across the creek I walked over to this one. A quick find.
Thanks for the cache. It is dry and in good condition.

After finding the cache, which is in good condition, we watched some folks who were determined to break their perfectly good 4WDs by launching them up the nearby near vertical rocky ramps. Looks fun, but Mrs Herbz wasn't too keen on me giving it a go, so I wussed out and just watched.

Introduced some friends to cacheing after an enjoyable walk through the bush and along the creek. Kids really enjoyed searching for this one.
Found on our last morning at Gordon Country - the cache is being guarded by a metre long black snake no wonder it is in such good condition. Thanks
Nice easy find, and a great introduction to geocaching for the Callaghans who joined the GeoLads and I for this hunt.

A great way to explore this fabulous camping site. Found the cache safe and well, guarded by a large Brahman bull. TNLN, thank you for the cache!
Should have taken the Prado up the difficult section of the quarry for 4*4 practice, but thought better of it with family on board. Cache is in good condition.
Woohooo!!! 200th cache found today whilst camping at Gordon Country.Crossed the creek by foot. 10 inches of rain in this area has made everything slippery and muddy and there is more water in this creek than they have had in ten years (Mr Gordon said so) Mr Straddie Heaven and myself decide not to drive as it would only chew up the tracks. Whilst walking we saw Crimson Rosellas, Black Cockatoo, little wrens and wallabies and a tree fell down and almost fell on Mr Straddie Heaven. Chester the Geo Border Collie braved the chilly creek for the first time and then spent the rest of the weekend pretending he was a duck. Thanks GraKez will come back camping and grab Gordon at Height next time.
Found at 1020Hrs. Cattle were wary of of me walking in to the cache but didn't bother me and I dont think I bothered them. TNLN.
However, on reflection I think that the cache is on private property, which raises some questions:-
1. Have the owners given the OK for this cache?
2. Is this cache promoting a business, ie. the privately owned campground? and
3. Are cachers being encouraged to trespass or to become customers of the campground to hunt this cache?
Over to you GraKez

Logged from my phone using the Geocache Navigator by Trimble. Loved the 4WD access to this cache. Sideways action in the muddy hole is always fun for the Princess and Wildlife Ben...GeoMummy was a bit worried but Timmo and his Xtrail prevail....Loved this hide. The princess (7) was into it like a Wombat up a hollow log. Cache in hand...Too cool...Next time we bring the Hound and a tent.
Thanks for showing us this awesome place.
Took nothing but could not locate the TB. Perhaps you need to check on this one again..

It is amazing. No one visits this cache for over 6 months and then two of us turn up on the same day and someone two days ago. Something about MAY!. This is a lovely part of the world and a special place we wouldn't know about if it wasn't for geocaching. Found the 4wding a breeze - we had just been in Sundown NP over the weekend and that is rough!... TFTC...eatmorchikin & Stigglepot
Second to find...Yay!
Simple find, however, the signs to this area state that you are trespassing unless you are camping at Gordon Country... What is the story behind this. Do the owners know about this cache and the others in the series?

It was covered in claw marks

ByronBabe was here, and I have collected my FIRST First To Find Certificate - Yay. I enjoyed the drive out here as I had never heard of Gordon Country before. Fantastic place. Great spot for camping. Quite a hike to get to GZ. TFTC. T - Uncle Sam's Bear TB, L - The Real McCoy TB (but forgot to note its number, so it still shows as being in Lakeview cache at Esk. Hopefully this will sort itself out when "Sylvester" moves on).
