A very cool spot as we came in from the road and bush bashed 130m to the cache. Still in good nick here.
Headed North today with cravo10 and ooh yeh to Yanchep National Park and a couple of caches in the alkimos area. Bit of a later start today, some good hides and enjoyed the National Park which has a few activities going throughout the day. Thanks to the local COs for some fun.

Last minute decision to go out caching with Barnzy12 and cravo 10 to pick up a few caches. Fantastic weather to be out and about and all caches except one were found. Thanks to all the CO,S for placing these caches
With today being the first day of school holidays for the kids but the wife still at work, I took the day off and headed to Yanchep.
Been years since I was up here. Remember rowing a boat out on the lake. Not much water here nowdays!
Anyway, this was our first stop. Had this saved on the phone for years. Although archived cache is still in good condition. TFTC

I have been looking for a chance to come up to Jurien Bay and surrounds to claim some of the older caches in the area. I mentioned my very rough plans to jinta29, and before long we had set aside this weekend to make the trip.
Well we decided to bush bash our way in, and having not read the description until now (3 hours later), we had no idea about the cave here. Until jinta29 realised he was standing on the edge of a very deep hole. Then we became very aware of how large a cave it was. We idled around it without a hitch, and jinta made quick work of the cache. A great spot to put a cache, and great to find another archived one.

Mischief's Crew, I found your cache Mal's Journey to the Centre of the Earth on 8/07/2016.
This is my find #2829 and find #6 today.

I nearly ended up in a big hole at this one . Not the best cache to do at night
I have been quite actively seeking out archived caches lately as it is quite a thrill to find caches that are off the radar! This was one that was handy to the area I was in and I thought I would have a wee look to see if I could find it. Yep, still there and able to be signed. WOOHOO! .

Decided to track this one down as I was in the area today and enjoy findng these old ones. Quick find here and I had a laugh reading the story of how the cache name came about. Glad Mal was OK. I didn't find the spot where the action occurred.

Found it easy enough but the son sat in a monster ants nest just there. Needless to say we left in a bit of a haste. We did hide the cache where we found it though.
Great location, took the easy way via the path then trying to reach it faster from the road. No falling to my demise.
This was another find in Western Australia while crossing Northern Territory and Western Australia from Darwin to Perth on Gibb River Road through the Kimberlys. During this 8500km journey we've met many nice and friendly people [^], visited countless marvelous places, saw lots of interesting local wildlife (and plants), took some 2500 pictures home and logged some 300 Caches .
The nice little cave we've discovered before reading the hint [:o)] the box we quickly found afterwards .
Thanks for the cache, we've enjoyed it very much [^].

The family has become obsessed with caves and there for caches at caves.
So I found this one and of we went for it.
Fairly quick find after me and minininja had explored.

Visiting the national park with the family for the Anzac Day service. Then hitting the trail afterwards trying to log a few hides.
Approach this one with the geo daughter as geo sons little legs had given out on him,
With only the one kid and lot less noise managed to spot several kookaburras along the way
Nice quick find at gz

Great walk out here on Easter Monday. A quick grab of the cache and we enjoyed exploring the nearby cave afterwards. TFTC

We came out to this cache while visiting at Yanchep national park. Left the $100 for the next cacher.

Found it, came in from northern side, track OK, but I am on walking stick, so not so OK! Mr D found the cave, it was all I could do to stop him checking it out. I thought, maybe I could hit him over the head with the walking stick.
In the mean time, I turn around, find the tree, and the cache.
Not much to swap, so took nothing, but I left a smiley face and a one hundred dollar note.
Location great, good to not have to pay to get into the national park, but still be in the national park. Great story.

Out doing a spot of Dry Caving with our friends at W.A.S.G. and spotted this nice little hide as we were crawling into the cave. Took a while for me to get back onto Geocache site and find the name of the cache to log our stumbled upon visit. Nice hide.
Found it.
A fairly quick and easy find. I came from the national park from the north, which I found no more difficult than your average bush trail.

Found with croi. Mummy and baby kangaroo resting just off the path, what a beautiful day and location. Thanks.
Think we went the hard way (bush hacking) found it.
Had a quick look in the cave..
Brilliant.

Managed to avoid Mal's fate.... Didn't fall down but did take the difficult route rather than the easy route with Mr JELSH.
Out hunting with Bert's Cachebusters. We went the back way like everyone else. Avoided the 8m fall and found the cache no worries.

Well of course we didn't start reading instructions until we were doing the bushbash off the park entrance road.... Then suddenly stumbled across Mal's cave from the opposite side....and saw the track....over the back of the open drop. Made our way carefully to the gz and had an easy find. Good adventure for the day.
It was a nice find but me and my friend we went on the bush bashing side and then we went really to the edge of the cave without falling in it looks deeper then 4 m it is about 8 m down and in the photo you couldn't be able to see the whole the whole is much more bigger if you don't see the cave and it is black and all you could see black!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it means you are in the cave inside the cave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! from dajaki
Mr O, hell bent on replicating Mal's journey started clambering on trees in the cave entrance while Mrs O and her broken arm kept saying 'I make it over here'. In the meantime Grandad O is stood there with a grin on his face and cache in hand. His first find. Nice one Grandad. TFTC and the amusing anecdotes.
Came up to Yanchep National Park with the geodaughters who attended their friends wedding at the park. After the ceremony at the lake I headed off on my walk around the lake which is very low on water.
A nice walk to the cache site and no bones down that cave hole as far as I could see.

Bit of a bush bash to get to GZ. Thankfully nothing as bad as Mal's journey. Thanks for the cache.
Navigated our way through bush to GZ....KB made the find...thanks Mischief's Crew
Bushbashed our way in from the road and almost went the same way as Mal Saw a couple of bobtails on the way back to te road. Dropped off Appalachian Trail coin found in Amsterdam. TFTC
OMG!!! How funny is your description! I told hubby the name of your cache and he jokingly says that we haven't got time to travel there, so it's lucky I read your description as we came in from the north side (which was fine) and he literally walked right up to the cave. Retrieved the cache safely and all was good. No caving for us. TFTC and the warning. Don't think I could have saved him if he fell in.
Hope Mal has fully recovered and is staying well clear of caves. TN left Ms Vampira Bean as we thought she may enjoy being near a cave.

Came here as part of my route to gain the attributes needed for '60 Attributes'.
My TomTom had me parking to the north. I came in on that route, climbed over a fallen tree and traversed another, not easy at 120kg. I then had to go back the same way, all the time resisting the urge to fall in the mine.
More caching scars on my legs, thank you for bringing me here.

A lot easier walk than the one we just did to Dave's Cave. Didn't get too close to the hole. Thanks.
We had a big day out at Yanchep National Park introducing our friends to our new and exciting hobby - Geocaching! We did the 5 larger caches hidden around the lake and were heading home late in the afternoon but could not resist this one....mainly due to the description!
It took us a little while to find the track but once we did we had such an enjoyable walk with the kids through the bush. We saw heaps of kangaroos and the scenery was pretty. We also LOVED the cave. We managed to find the cache, did our thing and felt really happy with ourselves having such a successful and fun day. This was the highlight of our day! Glad we made the effort.

[:(!] Went for an afternoon of caching with Mrs GrumpyBump, arrived close to GZ and parked the geocar on the side of the road and then walked the 200 odd meters to the cache, we went the hard way, discovered an underground cave and finally the track we were supposed to be on to reach our gold, within minutes we had the cache in hand. Lol! We went the wrong way.. Ended up on the wrong side of the hole climbing over logs to get to the other side. Best Geocaching Adventure I have yet. Awesome caves and even better location tftf.
On a flying visit from over East I had planned to find some caches in this area. After reading the great story around this cache I put it on my list. As usual things dont go to plan, weather was poor, my GPS died, and time was short.
But, after a bit of an intro to WA scrub and spiders I tracked down the cache and the cave using my handy I phone GPS app and then handy i phone torch app.
Although this was the only cache for the trip it was well worth it for the cache and the cave.

Geo husband did the right thing and read the previous logs about where to park for this one so kids could have a fairly easy walk in. So out of the National park go we and find a place to stop. Head off along the walking trail and at GZ in no time. [^]
Geo-hubby then decides to climb down into the hole of death in search of cache, leaving geokids and I "up top". Geoson does not want to miss out on Caving adventure so he goes down after dad . Lots of yelling, cursing and head bumping noises filter up from below whilst geodaughter and I wait patiently.
I pick up GPS out of an ants nest and find it pointing about 2mts away on other side of path. Curiosity gets the better of me and we go off on our own search. Cache located quickly and while geodaughter is almost wetting herself with laughter, she calls the intrepid explorers back to the surface. They arise from their adventure feeling very red-faced but having their own story to tell.
Geohubby thought he was searching for a 10Lt white bucket he had read about in one of the logs... Wrong Cache dear [:X]

Grumpy geoson is not a morning person, but we found this cache easily enough, first for the day. Left blue cow, took pen and bath gel. Thanks
Approached this cache from the road leading into the National Park so we had to bush bash our way through some thick undergrowth. We discovered the hole first and had to back track as it was too hard to get across the gap. ( Mum and three kids didn't need or want an injury at the start of the holidays. )
Found the cache and the easy track in but decided to return through the bush to the car. Lots of spiders, scratches and prickles but we all had a heap of fun. There was no way we were going to give up on this on. TFTF.

After reading the description, I hesitated doing this but was glad I put it in. And NO, we didn,t fall in. Nice hide and a good walk. Thanks Mischiefs Crew....Silky Seekers Brisbane.
Found at 2.25pm GAFF1. We had a bit of an adventure as well. We stopped the van on the side of the road just 130 metres from GZ and then walked across the burnt bit and then it was thick vegetation. Found an animal track (or maybe it was previous cachers) right next to the orange electrical cable that went snaking into the bush. There was a bit of a drop off and we were hoping to see the cave, but there was no sign of it there. So we just kept on going through the bush until we found the proper track and then the cache was exactly where the co-ords said it would be. Someone has scratched their name and date on the top of the cache - maybe muggles?
Thanks guys and thanks for the amusing story - Mal must be upset though that after his adventure he still didn't get the number of the cave.
ps: Jules Verne's Journy to the Centre of the Earth is one of our favourite stories!

5th cache for today. Walked down the track from the previous cache and saw the cache from a distance as it was not fully covered and quite visible from the direction I come. The position that I found it doesn't seem to match the spoiler shot so it must have moved at some time. Signed log and covered it a bit better so it is not now so visible for walkers coming from the north.
Thanks for the cache.

Found at about 1:33 PM. I loved the story of this one, it got a good laugh from both of us. The area has been cleaned up and the hole is a bit more obvious these days.
