Not realising this cache was temporarily unavailable, we had a ferret around and quickly found it near the logical hide / clue and GPS co-ordinates. Apart from the log book being wet, all is OK with the cache. TFTC.
I looked for this one for about 15mins before reading the logs and saw the string of DNFs. Perhaps this one needs checking?
No cache here for me today despite a good look.

Hmmm, despite good weather and GPS signal this was my first holiday DNF. The garden area/roadside have been very heavily trimmed, GZ according to my GPS was under a pile of trimmed branches. Looked like a car might have hit the fence too. I had a good search around the agapanthus, but found nothing sadly. Quite a pond of water restricting access too. Cache owner may want to check this one.
Took a bit of searching but managed to unearth GC. Interesting area. Log aa bit damp but ok to write on.
Have driven past a few times but not stopped, interesting development on the coast

Easy find with clue on our way from Wanganui to New Plymouth on our NI holiday. TFTC TNLN
Found after a bit of searching that resulted in wet feet. The area was a bit of a pond today, not sure if it's caused by the nearby water trough or by yesterdays storm. Interesting to come and have a look down here.
#722 Round day trip from NP thru Hawera back to NP with The Rambling Duo. Quick stop. Will take some time another time to do the Earthcache. Sure to be interesting. Quick find. SL. TFTC.
Easy drive by find. Nice to have the time to do some caching with Darby& Joan visiting from Auckland

Good view of the oil production station. Quite impressive flames at the top of the funnels. Parked at the side of the road and found cache after a wee search. TFTC and for showing us this place.
Another quick find. Cache fairly wet, couldn't do much to help - run out of sealy bags.
Patched up as best a we could.

Took me a while to suss this one out, the fact that it was pouring down didn't help TFTC
Have waited two weeks, but haven't received a reply from owner, so have decided to go ahead & log it anyway.
Took us a lot longer than we expected to hunt down all of the clues - even then we weren't sure about a couple of them. (hopefully there all right). Really interesting place to visit though. Thanks for bringing us here.

The cache was sopping wet. We emptied everything out, dried what we could, and threw away almost everything but the log book. We put the wet log book back into a new, dry baggie. We put in several trinkets and a new pencil and new geocaching instructions, all in another zip lock baggie. Then we put a plastic bag around the cache and put that into a zip lock baggie. I hope the cache holds. The log book really needs to be replaced or dried out.

Pulled up in carpark near helicopter pad and was about to begin our search when we got muggled by a friendly worker from the plant who then proceeded to give us a very detailed explantion of the workings of the plant and the associated Maui fields. No need to visit the visitors centre if you get muggled by this boy as he'll tell you everything you need to know and much more besides! Finally shook him off with the need to walk the dog and soon had the cache in hand. NINO, TFTC
Good view of the refinery. Quick find. Cache a bit wet. in kiwi badge, Out Souvenir spoon

Found it after we have had a look at the production site visitors centre.
Thank you for the cache and greetings from Germany, kesteri

Nice journey beyond where we would have gone. Thanks for that. Needs maintenance. Soggy. Maybe the container is a goner? TFTC.
Just down the road from a lovely earth cache. BookwormMum, Kayaknkiwi, Indiana Jill and I drove past this one and had to turn around. Indiana Jill had her caching antennae on and found this one quickly. TFTC!
In NP with Indiana Jill, Seattle’s Best and Kayaknkiwi for some caching and other fun. Were nearby getting info for earth cache - I hardly managed to get out of the car for this one before IJ had it in hand. No helicopters around - pity! TFTC!
Found with the team after doing the earth cache near by. IJ came up with the goods on this one. Thanks for the adventure on this one. Log wet. TFTC!
Impressive and a bit freightening scenery here. But a quick find and the logbook was reasonably dry.

Wow, this brought back memories. A few years ago STOS was one of our clients and I helped them developing some of those plans that would be used Knew the names of a lot of their sites, good to actually get out and see MPS today Thanks. Cheers Gav [4715]

Pheww! We were glad of a quick find on this one after taking our time to find the info for the nearby earthcache! The hint was spot on and helpful for finding this one. Wonder if all those poor cows will get evacuated if there is an emergency?

After searching for quite a while, we gave up on this one. We couldn't make sense of the clue either.
Nice easy cache after spending over an hour looking for clues in a very hot visitors centre for GC1G4TP. GPS and clues bang on. NINO TFTC
JDSavannah strikes again! Well, in conjunction with TreMichLan. [8)] A lovely day of caching in Taranaki
A windy spot today, but suspect it might be any day. Good to see an attempt to beautify a small area so close to a huge industrial site.

Got an email about that: they can arrive at anytime but workers spend two-three weeks on the rig in shift rotations so not that common to see the helicopter on the pad, much less flying overhead. Id you do, snap a photo and post it here! ;P
This cache was orginally layed by a member now no longer residing in the district. I now have administrative rights for both Oaonui caches. Signed the logbook in error, and have deleted my entry after SouthernAugurs brought this to my attention. Apologies for any inconvenience.

No choppers interrupted our hunt today. We didn’t attempt the nearby Earthcache, as the information centre had closed for the day. Many thanks for bringing us to this interesting spot.

Very quiet Sunday morning with no helicopters seen and even better, no wind! Nice quick find and a great spot to view the nearby installation. Gotta watch the parking alright, a very blind corner.
No swaps, TFTC.

Easy find; bit of a dangerous spot behind a blind corner, watch for traffic, especially the local farmer who lives at the bottom of the road. Helicopters fly across this road as well, so caution is the watchword. TNLNSL

Well, not oil, but cache gold! A very straightforward cache competely after the mental agility demanded by 'Natural Gas Naturally'. It was super windy today (isn't it always) so the weekly Helicopter was nowhere in sight. TFTC.
