After three replacements (over three plus years and 190 finds) its time to give in to the volunteer gardeners who are great at collecting caches!
Met a lovely lady who let our girl feed the fish with her. She told us that the bushes and gardens had been trimmed and tidied recently. Maybe that's why we didn't find it.
Lovely area. Enjoyed the fish in the lake along with a local lassie, all the time sizing up the gardens... then a quick duck in the right direction did the trick.
Enjoyed the last log's story - at least no alarm bells went off for us. TFTC

Another quick grab whilst I was in town and on my lunch break. Did stop by here a few nights ago but the alarm on the building next door was pretty loud and didn't want to attract attention of the security guard doing the rounds by hiding in the bushes.
Nice day today, with no one around made for an easy find after taking a peak at the hint (to avoid trampling the garden)
TNLN, Cheers.

After spending the night in Matamata I decided that it would be a good chance to clean up a few caches in the area before heading north. Arriving near GZ I was able to find a car-park within a few metres from the cache, and from there it was a very easy and quick walk to GZ. Managed to find the cache in the first spot that I looked, what a nice spot for a cache, thanks for bringing me to this lovely spot, have visited Matamata a few times before and didnt know this spot existed, so it was great to finally discover this spot, thanks for placing a cache here and bringing me to this lovely spot, TFTC TNLNSL (3555)
Found with Joshtait. Cool hide. went for this one at night as we were just down the street and decided why not. Both of us didn't have torches but the light from the GPS was enough for us to find it.
Fun in the dark haja.
Found it with gavin. Was doubtful as to our luck with finding it due to it being dark+we had no light source apart from my car haha!
First day of GeoCaching .

Spent a long weekend in Cambridge and decided to drive to Matamata to drop off a a geocoin that wants to visit LOTR locations. Nice location for a cache, Mr newkiwis made a quick grab whilst Mrs newkiwis engaged a muggle sitting in the nearby bench in conversation (she's good at that), so the muggle remained none the wiser . Whilst in the area we found a discarded sistema container which we may well recycle as a geocache in the near future. TFTC!
After my failure to find "Hobbiton", I saw this one was close by. The cache name is the same as my favourite episode of "the Mighty Boosh" so I walked down and found it without problems. TFTC
Found after a bit of looking around on the way home from a weekend in Rotorua. Nice fountain...TFTC
A very nice fountain - but mis-named - the elder EU Crew still having less energy than the younger EU Crew! TFTC
Spitting with rain... the youngest Turtleback found this. A lovely park even on a damp day. TFTC
Another lovely park - had to wait for couple muggles - bet they were wondering what I was doing in the bushes lol TFTC
Found on a glorious spring afternoon. Lovely spot, and the Centennial Drive is always beautiful. TFTC!
Found new cache same day it was placed there. Can finally cross this one off. TFTC
Very quiet this morning so could scratch around pretty safely. All i found was the top of film canister so maybe it has done a bunk
Searched everywhere.. Hands, knees, sticks, stones, and eventually left empty handed..
Found it uncovered so recovered before we left. Looked like some 'gardening' had been done. TFTC
I think Another cache fallen victim to council garden trimmers. No sign of anything in a 'drive by'.
A little confusing as our GPS is getting old. So sad we couldn`t find the cache but will go back and see if we can find it another day.

Nice location to have a break, a couple muggles around , manage to find after a bit of a search. TFTC
Took us a while to find this one as the old iphone is just not accurate enough Luckily we bumped into a fellow Geocacher (our first time) who had a more accurate GPS. Thanks Miles and very nice to meet a friendly cacher! TFTC, the 2nd on Mr Pukekos 40th birthday.
Took a wee while to find as it was a bit busy with muggles when I arrived.

A quick cache before visiting Hobbiton. A place that looks like from a different world. T4TC and greetings from Switzerland!
Spent quite a lot of time searching for this one - the hint is misleading now. As stated, you do not have to enter the gardens, as we inadvertently did because the GPS told us to It was a pleasant spot to have a morning coffee.
Tried this one ages ago - DNF. But today bang on. One less on my list.
Nice little spot to stop and having a break - and walk the furry caching partner

Fitzy and I are visiting New Zealand for a week to do some caching and have a look around.
This was our twelfth cache on day five our adventure (New Year's Eve).
Another nice quick find to help us on our way to Rotorua. and I wish there really *was* a fountain of youth .

Found with Shell-A at 10:40 a few minutes before our Hobbiton tour. We wished we had more time to explore this park or go on the heritage walk. TFTC.

First find on our way down to Rotovegas for the weekend. Furbies introduced us to this addictive world of geocaching...
Easy Find, on our way to Rotorua.. With a huge weekend ahead, we appreciated the serenity of this little garden. TFTC.
Nice sunny Saturday afternoon.
Mrs Toffee is on crutches so can't do much exploring so lucky most in Matamata are 'drive bys'
TFTC
Mr Toffee claims this one.

DNF. A few things seemed to fit the description, but alas, no treasure. Enjoyed a drive through the beautiful park, had no idea it was here!! Thanks.

Found on 2nd attempt, chose this time to ignore the obvious big and small thing and choose another big and small thing, then the cache was located

Son found it straight away. Glad I had him with me as I may have missed this one. TFTC.
Not being a fan of micros, I don't normally go after them. But when I found this and realised it was a micro, I am now glad I have a micro under my belt.
This was one of those clues where you go "Of course!" when you see it.

18:10 Last time I came past here, the cache was in a different location and the place was stacked with muggles. On benches, in the hedgerows...
A big 'what?' was the order of the day & Xmuggle did the 'duh!'. Cool hide. Erratic really Cheers, GC.

Quick find which was a good thing as the rain was starting. Seem to be following Stu4 around today! TFTC
Dropped by for a quick find in the new location. Fountain looks good in the day as well. TFTC
Cute place Mr UGTME was annoyed by the small driving path through, found it while Helefant was still wandering around looking for it (new gps toy is still getting used to it) tried signalling. clearly need to brush up on these skills as there were a couple of muggles around, in the end decided the waiting game would be best. TFTC
Had to log a DNF last time here as had been muggled. Glad to be back in area to be able to find. Found with daughter & UGTME. TFTC
Called in to check this out. Had been buried a bit with bark, so made it a bit more accessible.
I suspect the local council parks and reserves staff have disturbed this cache...heaps of fresh new bark has bee placed everywhere and trees and shrubs heavily trimmed over the last week. Thanks for bringing us here.
Quick easy find at GZ. There were a few options but only 1 really fitted the hint properly. TFTC
Found it as indicated by the clue. Not the gardeners fault, they actually helped. TFTC

droped in late at night and went for a crawl around the clue. suspect an overselious garder may have over trimed this cache ?? or maybe just a two longer day on the road for me. Neat park late at night.
Gorgeous fountain and lovely area with all those huge trees and pretty flowers! However we could NOT find the cache container even though we searched for 1/2 hour. There are branches cut off very recently on the bush near GZ so wondering whether it might have gone missing? Will check again later on before we leave the area. Thanks for bringing us here anyway.
Was looking around when the junior cacher had it hand nice and quick. Left a small smiley face rubber. TFTC
7.30pm. We came here with fish and chips for tea and sat on a nice looking seat with a view. Then went back to the car for the coords for the cache that must be somewhere around here. Realsied where we were so didn't need the GPS for an easy find.
Thank you. David and Noeline.

Quick find on our way to get the tourist photo op at the Hobbiton sign. Was here with Tromelin while on vacation from Canada. TFTH
