Out on a maintenance run with the CO. Such a great day for it and just cool and windy enough to keep most of the muggles away. After a short search I spotted what I was looking for.
Thanks Gonefishen07 for the cache and the fun day
Thanks Gonefishen07 for the cache and the fun day
Found with my family - becca85, boo09 & chan02 as well as GemmaSistma & boys on a roadtrip for the school holidays. Sorry for the very tardy logging. TFTC
Found during our super fun roadtrip to Phillip Island with my Team Clarmensma family - becca85, GemmaSistema, neisha07, Adam & Lukey. We found lots of caches and saw lots of different animals- including a penguin in the wild! TFTC!
School holiday time once again which means Team Clarmensma is formed (myself+GemmaSistema+neisha07+boo09+Adam+Luke) and one lucky destination gets to host us.
This time it was Phillip Island and decided to make a 3 day road-trip of it.
The weather treated us fairly well and we enjoyed the many beautiful views and landscapes that we were taken to. TFTC!

In Philip Island for a few days of caching with becca85 and our geokids - Adam, Luke, neisha07 and boo09. Nice quick find. Surfers galore! Many thanks
Wife and me had fun working on this beautiful sunny morning too thanks heaps top spot
LOVE these caches .. Was a little stumped on the "consecutive numbers puzzle" .. But then - bingo - it came to me .. So off I headed to the GZ .. Triumphantly signed the log - happy it's a nice sunny day after the rain yesterday
Was out on a Philip island geoday to find a heap of caches on the island. Well we found some caches but not heaps as they seemed to be than a walk up but what some great views TFTC for all your efforts too.
A group of us planned a geocaching assault on Phillip Island today, seeing how far we would get in finding all of the approximately 120 available caches. We did aim mostly for puzzles, mysteries and earthcaches so it was no surprise that we ended the day with less than 20 finds... quality over quantity, I suppose .
A combination of observation and googling to 'solve' this one, and we were on our way to GZ. A quick find using the clue, and we signed the log as "P.I. Crew" to save space.
Thanks for the series, Hell+Back/Gonefishen07.

A big drive down from Geelong for a day out on the Island with friends old and new. A great day with mainly finds save for a couple of D5's. Perfect weather too which had to be happy with, despite the thick fog in the morning! Caches were logged 'The Philip Island Crew - 5/08/16' to save logbook space as a group.
this old sea dog has seen a few years! Another great view, cheers.

Interesting theme for this puzzle. On the day I inaccurately guessed the mood of the group here and came to this one while the rest of the convoy had other ideas. I shortly realised my error of judgement but found and signed before moving on. The others came back for a look a little later. Log was signed 'The Phillip Island Crew' as time-saving measure. Thanks Hell+Back & Gonefishen07!
Found it no problems but lid is broken and somehow it just wasn't staying on, popped itself off every time I tried to put it back in its hidey spot, hmm maybe it was cos I was rushing before a muggle group appeared oh well all good and not spotted - just!
Late afternoon find - container lid hinge has broken. Signed log and replaced. TFTC
Too many muggles today. Dropped hubby off for a surf and now off to try my luck with a few others
The calculated co-ords were spot on to find GZ. Thank you for an interesting puzzle cache.
Not Drowning, Caching - Flynns Reef was transferred from hell+back to user Gonefishen07
With the continuation of great weather, we went back to Phillip Island for some sightseeing
and to pick up a few more caches.
Worked our way through as many of the puzzles as we could, and a few traditionals as well.
Thanks to all the owners, for the effort that you put into the construction and the hides.
Many thanks for placing this cache, hell+back, for us and others to find.

This was the first cache in the series for us today where we were really bothered by muggles. As we drew close to GZ a couple were enjoying the view. As they departed another couple could be seen approaching. We certainly got a decently long look at that lovely view! The find & replace when we got the chance was like lightning courtesy of the hint which we utilised to our benefit.
Spent the sunny morning working out some puzzles and then spent the wet cold and windy afternoon finding them. Lovely spot this. Quick find with the help of the clue. Thanks.
Woke up to a dull & dismal wintry Wednesday; just the sort of day for geo-caching on & around the Island beaches. We decided to start on the northern beaches today and work anti-clockwise around the coast, hopefully finishing up at Shelly Beach.
Had to widen our search a little from the co-ordinates we'd calculated but cache soon found in good condition.

Amazing what you learn while researching puzzle caches esp who features on popular bank notes. This is last NDC cache today as ranger warns us of gates closing soon. Beautiful sunset too, also saw` a couple of penguins at some of the GZs so that waqs our bonus penguin parade.

Having an enjoyable cruise around the area, we happened to be very near so of course I started..."Let's check it out and go for a walk"
I knew the cache was here, so we walked to the end had a look and took a photo or two. On the way back I piped up "Oh wow, look at that there's a cache right here!" This one was just lying in the ground in plain sight with the lid open After signing the log it was returned it making sure it was back out of sight. Thanks for the fun!

Found with Gonefishen07, Lazzal and Liz and Bruce. I was very lucky to be able to log these caches as I was picked up from school instead of getting the bus home. I was glad that they picked me up as we had lots of fun finding these caches around the Island. Thanks Hell+back for hiding them. TFTC
We have wanted to do this series of caches for a very long time and finally our travels have bought us close by. A fine day and awesome scenery made this a caching day to remember. We ventured from spot to spot, occasionally groaning at yet another set of steps and another walk through the sand but then the incredulous comments about the shape of the rocky outcrops, the changing colour of the rocks, the changing sea or the way the sea looked like waterfalls coming off the rocks. As the day turned into night we experienced an amazing sunset with the hues changing to soft and calming colours. During the course of the day we saw Cape Barren Geese, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Sea Eagles and penguins. Our company for the day LazzaL, Gonefishen07 and when school finished Zobo04 joined in the hunt, we could not have asked for better. This was one of our quicker finds. Thanks to hell+back for the enormous effort in organizing this variety of caches and for showing us the beauty spots of Phillip Island.
A very big day doing this series of caches with Liz and Gonefishen07, some very challnging walks to the caches and some extremely beautiful scenery. This is definitely at least a 2 day exercise to get all of this series. Home at 8pm with pizza for dinner, the rest will have to wait. Thanks to hell+back for hiding this cache.
7th cache of the day with Mr G, before heading to meet the pinguins.
Thanks for the riddle. We won't try to get the whole beach series as we are here only for one day, but riddle was fun...

Very windy and slightly wet, but we are here with a purpose, so we ventured out to experience the magnificence and grandeur of the elements. We took a few strokes in this series about three years ago and with extra workouts and training at home and straining against the wind we had a win here today.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt hell+back.

Good clue made this an easy find although at first wasn't too sure what I was looking for.

This morning we cached in and around Wonthaggi. This afternoon we returned to Phillip Island. Yesterday we found some of the caches in this series and today we wanted to see if we could add to our collection. We had solved this puzzle before leaving Tassie. This was our seventh and final of the "Not Drowning, Caching" caches for today. It was a short walk to GZ but and we were able to make a very quick find. The cache and it's contents were in good condition. TFTC hell+back. Another cache in the series completed - we were looking forward to the task for the final cache.
Pulled up to do this cache closely followed by another vehicle. They had recognised the GC symbol on the back of our motorhome and our numberplate TNLNSL. We took some time to chat and eventuated in a joint find. A few weeks solid work had seen us work out a number of these caches and this one was a lot of fun. Enjoying the challenges hell+back

My regular caching partner SedgwickDave has left me for a holiday in Western Australia, so I decided to head out to an area he had already covered and find as many caches as possible. My main target was the hell+back Not Drowning, Caching series, which I had managed to solve most caches some time ago, but it was not until today that I had the opportunity to go and find them. As it was going to be a very hot day, I was keen to head out early when hopefully it was a bit cooler.
I used the hint for this one, and at first thought the cache was missing. After the waiting for a passing muggle and a closer inspection, the cache was found.
Thanks to hell+back for the cache. TNLN

Found on a final drive to the end of Phillip Island while staying for a few days.
Another interesting history puzzle solved and then off for a look.
Another very safe hide and quick find at GZ but alas no whales for me today, I found penguins later instead.

Another challenging puzzle and lovely beach that I've not visited before. Thanks for the great sight seeing trip hell+back
Having solved the puzzle a number of days before while on a scientific expedition, it was pleasant to be able to stretch the legs and collect a few caches along the way. There were a number of surfers enjoying the break at Flynn's Reef, fortunately GZ was muggle free and I was able to quickly locate and retrieve the cache. Thanks hell+back for the cache and the history lesson.

This one gave our brain a real work out as one question we had many answer but we finally worked it out. Found cache in the right spot as cache owner had just done maintance two days before. Collected the clue signed log. Thanks Hell & Back for the challenge and the cache.
Tagged along with the Bounty Trackers signed log Thanks Hell & Back for the cache.
new log placed in cache, which had undergone a bit of vertical creep - now back to where it started
Woo! First puzzle cache. After some initial error with the coords it was found. Cheers!
Well this one was painful...many hours were spent on this mystery cache working it out and then after 30 minutes of searching we couldn't find it. We did find a likely place but no luck.... Oh well
We will watch this cache intently over the coming months before we come back and eventually find it.
Still a very beautiful place...thanks for bringing us here hell+back.
We reckon we have found more of your caches than anyone else's...will have to check stats on geocaching aus.
Thanks for another great adventure.

Yet another one bites the dust! We're down to our t-shirts one a lovely sunny winters day and really enjoying the sunshine. An added bonus to find a caching buddy has been here before us and left their calling card. Good to see KI Bug!

This is an admirable theme for this cache, and was interesting to read some more of the history. The location had a different pathway that looked really nice in the sunshine today. Caching with abl973, we waited for a few kite surfers to shuffle on past, said g'day and then started looking. The container was found soon after. Thanks for the cache.
15/07/12 12:29 PM Find #1110 Its back to the island for myself and Square Pegs. Our day started with clear skies and a crisp breeze which developed into rain and strong wind. The elements certainly tested our resolve but it was amazing. We saw contrasts of colour in the sea and surrounding environment that is the sort of thing most people would never see as they opt to stay indoors.
Well the kite surfers here should have a good time as its certainly windy! They pass us by on their way to the water and it was an opportune moment to seize the cache, sign the log, note the clue and return before the next kite surfer arrives. A quick hello and we're on the way to the next cache. Thanks Hell+Back.

Another TDC assault on Philip Island. The members of the team (myself, Quasar3671 and TrailRunning) together today, for an attempt at a final clean up of the area. We didn't quite get them all, but almost all of them... We did see some whales, that was awesome. Very wet and miserable, but our team spirit was still great with some laughs and jokes along the way.
Great to see some whales here. I have seen them many times at / near Warrnambool over the years. And a cache find as well. TFTC.

The members of TDC gathered together for a quick trip to Phillip Island. Marshy was in town again, and Marty took the morning off work. He was soon to return once he had collected the caches he needed, leaving Marshy and I to continue to the western part of the island to gather the caches not available during the night due to road closures. The island is now close to being complete. It was a wet and miserable day, but a few jokes and laughs lightened the spirits and the whale watching off Flynns Reef. the kids loved this one as they were able to watch the whales from teh beach while we looked for the cache, a nice quick find. thanks
#2870 Another in the series & quite a poignant puzzle - we have been advocates for a great many years following our years of outback travel. It was a lovely walk toward GZ this morning with a shady avenue of shrubs. Spot on co-ords had us where we needed to be and the container located - the logbook is nearly full. Thanks for another puzzle and cache in the series, we're slowly getting through them
After a full school term with exam after exam, I didn't get to do much caching. This was all going to change however when I started to plan an assault on Philip Island. I started to think of which town would be best to assault to raise me from the dead after my abysmal effort in the earlier months. With 3 different series, a power trail, and a handful of other caches, Philip Island was the place to go. So I started solving the puzzles and making a few phone calls so I would have the best chance of finding a heap. I solved most of the puzzles, however some of them required a bit of a nudge or someone else to realise my error. I started to think about my route in a way that would get me the most finds possible. We ended up with 55 in one day, and 87 for the whole weekend which was a fantastic effort . The weather was very on and off for the whole weekend which made some journeys quite unpleasant, however on the whole it was awesome. The Nobbies was a definite highlight for me. We started off the day with the 'Pathway' and managed to complete it and all of the other caches along the trail in just over 4 hours. What an awesome weekend! Thank you to all of the owners who contributed, but especially hell+back and The Three Geo Amigos (you know who you are)!

We've been coming to Phillip Isaland for many years, but never stopped at the beach. It's beautiful. Thank-you
Well Emily and I had to hit this series again, armed with our new stamp. Sorry for stamping little logs with a big stamp but try explaining the mechanics of this to a 5yo. We are determined to have our map of Philip Island full of smily faces before the end of this year.
After doing this cache we went home for lunch, then decided to find a few more, couldn't find gps anywhere so decided to head back to the last place we had it, sure enough the caching gods were smiling at us that day, it was on the fence where we left it, still powered up and all good/.
Thanks for a great series.

We found this cache as a part of a non-stop 24 hour caching run with Marcus Vitruvius.
We logged 207 caches in the 24hr period, and this was one of them.
This was one of the many "Not Drowning, Caching" puzzles we were able to solve and log whilst on the island tonight.
Thought we may have been searching for a while being a micro, but spot on coords had the cache in hand in no time. Nicely hidden.
Many thanks hell+back for a great series of puzzles and caches - quite enjoyable. TNLN SL. Cheers.

This was another find today as part of a 24hr caching run that yielded 207 cache finds with Haveanez. Enjoyed the little wander to GZ in the dark, and being a micro we expected to search a little while before it was found, but luckily we pin pointed the right spot as soon as we arrived, and found the cache nicely tucked away out of sight.

This was my second attempt at this one with the first attempt using wrong coordinates (not confirmed) which had me about 1km up the beach, that was about a year ago now. With the planning for this run down at Phillip Island I redid the puzzle and realize the mistake I had made earlier, I simply misread one of the questions. So today with coordinates confirmed by evince made for a quick find in between the muggle traffic. TFTC Hell+Back & the puzzle, clue noted.

I was on the island today and was going to finish what I started on the Monday - an island caching run. Enjoyed doing the research for the cache final GZ coords and learnt a fair bit about a very important service provided to the Australian community. No one about at all today so had a nice quiet stroll to GZ where the cache was quickly found and the log signed. Thanks for the hide.

Considering the perfect weather, I was amazingly lucky with muggles today - I got to GZ for this one and quickly located the cache using the clue (I think it may not be in quite the original location though) and moved away to log it. While doing this, a muggle came up and loitered around for a minute before heading away and I quickly replaced the cache and was just heading back when two more groups approached from different directions.

Thanks once more Hell+Back - this one's starting to rust a bit.

Had a little bit of trouble with the puzzle on this one as there were a couple of sites on the internet that had conflicting information, glad for the evince!

Found by Mary & David at 1550. Children paddling, surfers further out and quite a few muggles, so this took a while. Pleased to see the revegetation areas doing so well. Yet again, our thanks to Hell+Back.
Found @ 1415Hrs
What a Great spot for a cache on such a Great Day. In such a Great part of the world.

Found on our way down to Nobbies Place.
Took In the Views & the Fresh Air & one of my Pathtags.

Enjoying a great day and these wonderful caches. Yet another great location. #15 for the day and also the spot I think I lost the memory card from my camera. Noticed a car at tihs location we ended up seeing many times this day. TFTC.
As a last minute break to Phillip Is became a reality, thought I'd have a go at some of these puzzle caches. This was the first and it was with relief that I actually got it right. Thanks Hell+Back for the effort you put into all these caches. TNLNSL
An enjoyable puzzle - and quite topical, with junior38 having recently completed a school project highlighting John Flynn and his achievements. A quick cache find in the first place I looked - an indication of good co-ords! SL at 1pm. TFTC. Regards, 38degsouth.
Found at 3.50pm GAFF2. A good amount of Googling, some memory work and the satisfaction of working out the correct co-ords was imense. Once again we arrived at a beach that we had not really explored - and we have been coming here for nearly 45 years! Thanks Hell+Back.
Had to do the slealth thing here while the surfies were hanging about but apart from that no troubles. Thanks for the helpfull clues though.
