Tanks for guiding us here. Cache is in super condition.Greetings from Hanover and Bonn /Germany. Team m-u-t
Another stunning location, as we made our way on the trails between the casuarina’s, the mangroves and the paper gums.
What a beautiful walk, for us, the only downside was, we forgot the mosquito repellent, and decided to keep moving quickly to keep the bugs at bay.
All good at GZ.
Thanks Herbz

I nice spot out here on the edge of the max flats. The lid was on tight. Thanks Herbz and happy caching
Took shoes off before exploring through the squelchy mud area, didn't see the croc. When I found the cache didn't think I was going to get it open at first but just had to try harder. Didn't see anyone on the way in and though it might have been a nufas opportunity as already had the shoes off. Might have to visit balancing rock for that one though
Thanks for the cache Herbz

Brought the bike for a ride on the flat tracks here.
Plenty of kangaroos and wallabies around.
This one doesn't get many visitors
Thank you Herbz for hiding this geocache

Finally got the whole set. Yay! Now to run the gauntlet of all these blasted mozzis again

After cleaning up at a CITO up the road earlier, Fangsoki, 1MinnieMoo and I headed here to cleanup the caches along this trail. After coffee (of course). A gorgeous area, complete with hordes of 'roos, and muggles, but so much space to spread out that largely we all kept to ourselves. A good quick find here after we bypassed the croc on the shoreline.
Thanks Herbz for entertaining me at this location.

Having attended Captain Terror’s Quarterly Cleanup #2 this morning, followed by a coffee with some of the attendees, Fangsoki, Pprime and I then headed here to complete Herbz’ HNT trail. Picking up our paces, we made our way back and around to this one and as we neared GZ, we realised we could forget about the drop bears. It was more a case of “look out for crocs on the shoreline”!
Thanks for the cache Herbz.

Cleverly hidden at the end of a nice trail. Quite mosquito ridden! But a lovely walk.

Quick easy find took us longer to get the lid off than to find it. We didn’t over tighten the lid so should be easier for the next finder tftc
Finally made it to this cache. Found easily but my arthritic hands could not open. Have taken photo. Still more of this series to find so will be back will check to see if I can open next time. TFTC.
On a weekend walk around Coombabah reserve, I decided to find all these caches again.
I found the cache , all was well.
I found the cache , all was well.
TFTC. Enjoyed this bike ride passing kangaroo's, wallaby's and even a little echidna.
Decided to check all the caches in Coombabah Lakelands today. This cache was present and the log book was fine.
I was out on a caching day with Selva Girls and Mr & Mrs RoddyC today exploring the wetlands. A quick find here thanks to the hint and we added our name to the log. Tftc Herbz
Out for a day of caching with storigirls and RoddyC. What a better place than the wetlands to go for a walk. There were lots of fun caches to be found here, along with a great variety of wildlife to watch. Again, my phone had me some distance away from where Mrs RoddyC found the cache. With our names added to the log and the cache rehidden, it was time to start the walk back to the geomobiles. TFTC
We came across your cache, Herbz, on a Saturday geocacher day in the company of Selva Girls and Storti girls.
"Shore" thing the longest walk belongs to Herbz! Nice sized container easily spotted from the 'road'.
Log signed and cache replaced at 11:30 AM on June 23, 2018. TFTC.

Tftc. With the hint there wasn't so many possible places for GZ. Few kangaroos were waiting around GZ when I arrived to area.
Friday 24 November 2017 - a glorious sunny Spring day in the high 20s although a bit breezy making cycling a but more of an effort than it should otherwise have been.
Found 12 from 13 caches (11 trads, 1 letter box) after cycling over 12km around the reserve in approx. 3hrs. In total I cycled 30km over 6.5hrs to and from north High Street Southport, where MuggleDaughter lives, stopping off in Habour Town to pick up few things on the way home.
Loved the boardwalk trail best of all and the change of scenery between caches. Also should have heeded the previous cachers warning re: mosquitoes. MUST TAKE INSECT REPELLANT NEXT TIME. A favourite point for this series will be placed on the 'Gordon' cache - my favourite
This cache was one of the few easy ones to find. While the treescape was spindly, sad looking and deserted the cache was easy to locate AND without fear that a snake was hiding or slithering nearby. TFTC Herbz.

After heading off the track to the GZ, the distant ubiquitous object for cache hiding was easily spotted. Cache was otherwise well hidden by bark and sticks within the hidey spot.
Nothing taken, nothing left.
Nothing taken, nothing left.
Cache was pretty exposed today. Filled out log with pen provided and did my best to make him less visible. TFTC
Next up on my bike ride around the nature reserve was this spot. I followed the wrong trail initially but then got on the right one and arrived at GZ. Its beautiful here, and reminded me of my recent trip to Coles Bay, Tasmania where there was a similar looking wetlands reserve.

Having reached the shore, I first admired the different growth here and the impressive colour. With a snapshot taken, it was time to commence searching for the cache. Counting down the needle to near zero, I couldn't see anything , so started circling around, in larger and larger sweeps. Just as I was about to call a DNF, I saw something on the ground in the distance that looked very cache like. As I opened it up, it was definitely the cache and I added my name. Where I discovered it, there didn't seem any location that matched the hint, so it may have drifted with the tides. I placed it back inside a stump, right next to where I found it and took a photo of the location if the CO would like me to send it through.

Just putting an owner maintenance log on as we forgot when we changed the coordinates.
Massive cache and some massive kangaroos guarding it. Thanks for placing
Headed down to Bris for an over night stay from Toowoomba hoping to build a few numbers to complete a goal before an interstate trip. This area was the goal for before breakfast on day 2 and this was stop 10. Last grab for me in this area, I will need to come back for the others another day. I managed to make a wrong turn and headed the wrong way before realising my mistake and turning around. Once back on track it wasn't too long before I spotted the hide and signed my name. TFTC Herbz
To make a bit more of a walk for us we took the Jabiru Track out to this one from the Stone Junction. It is so beautiful in this reserve. So peaceful and lots to see and do (and many caches to find!). Mr EMC found this one from a distance. We were so lucky today to have seen a wild koala whilst we were at the Boxing Kangaroo Letterbox Cache. Mrs EMC had said she could smell a koala and sure enough when we looked up there was a cute little bundle nestled in the branches. The kids were very excited. No koalas out here. We had a rest stop here and downed two tins of baked beans between us. We have walked 9.7kms so far, it was 2 pm and we still needed to get back. Thanks for another great cache location Herbz. Find no. 13/19 for the day.

Original tether holding the container in place at original GZ has rusted and cache must have fallen to the ground and floated to where it is now. It loos like the container is OK so we have adjusted the coordinates accordingly and will check it asap.

Wow. Very sloshy and lots of water everywhere. Lucky we were on bikes so got to the cache without getting wet. Well a bit wet once we located it. Forgot the pen today and too far to go back so took a photo as proof. Only Herbz would put a cache in such a location. Lots of fun. TFTC Herbz
The tide is coming in! Whoa! Glad the coords are spot on. Quick find. Fav point for this.
This was fun finding this cache with E:) as tide was coming in and gum boots were required. Luckily I bought a spare pair of socks for the trip home, TFTC
I think I may have been lucky and timed this on a low tide, rode the push bike to 5m from cache, not sure if this fills with water at high tide, another good one .TFTC.Herbz.
All the way from the UK. Had to walk over a lot of wetland to get to GZ. Quick find, great container. TFTC
Back in 2012 I did indeed try the challenging way to get to this geocache by canoeing to it. Sadly it was missing then. Nevermind, I'll be back. Then last month I tried to get here from 'Shores 4 - Estuary' but a high tide meant that was not going to happen. Alas, it sat a while longer on my very short list of geocaches that I really want to find. Chasing as many Herbz hides as possible has become a thing for me and this is the last of the non-walky such geocaches left.
This weekend, Gaz'n'Kab, Pprime, Net88 and Herbz themselves and myself were camping out west and having climbed Mount Barney, we had my pushbike on the roof which had been used to ease the length of the hike yesterday. Net88 and I left the campgrounds and some 90 minute drive away from here with a few hours to kill, she suggested driving from there to Coombabah so I could find this one. Sure enough, we did just that.
I parked us opposite Mason Field, lobbed the bike off the roofracks, put it together and told Net I'd try be back in half of the suggested hour timeframe. I launched into the Lakelands as fast as my aching legs could pedal. She took the car to find fuel and lunch for our rendezvous.
Many visits to the area have meant I feel I've seen a good deal of the reserve here. However, today it was full speed and no sightseeing. Pedal, pedal, burn, pedal, burn, burn down the Koala Track I went. The metres whizzed by a lot quicker than the minutes and averaging about 20km/h I was near the geocache within 15 minutes. Along the way I even had to dodge kangaroos lounging on the track and not in the least bothered by the human on the metal steed making all manner of noises.
I had not timed the tide well. It was muddy, wet and i didn't want wet shoes. I decided to just ride to the geocache location. Despite the mud and water I successfully pedalled in low gear to the trees with dry shoes. I spotted the geocache some metres away and not a place I could get the bike to. I leaned in a tree, removed shoes and barefooted the last dozen or so metres.
Everything in great condition here. I had forgotten a pen, but the one inside worked. Signing this geocache means I am now the top finder of Herbz geocaches - 113 of 135! From here it is more mountains, long hikes or Yamba. I also note the longest log on a Herbz geocache is one of mine: http://coord.info/GLHV2FC6
Now with muddy feet I chose to ride barefoot back to the carpark. More speed, more pain, more roos and another 15 minutes had me meet up with Net88 once more. Bike back on the roof, lunch munched and we were off to Brisbane for another little meet up. TFTC Herbz - a most enjoyable ride and hide

All I can say is thank God the tide was on it's way out, cause it sure was damp and muddy as we neared gz. Someone had forgotten to change into old shoes so it was up to me to head into the unknown to grab the cache. Made a change to leisurely sign and replace cache as no muggles around all morning. Took nothing, left a couple of trinkets. Apart from cobwebs, cache in good order. Mission accomplished, wasn't looking forward to the cycle back to the car. Hadn't been on my bike for many months and my um, derriere was already quite sore, sigh. Tftc Herbz
After a very pleasant ride and adventure around the forest, it was a humid smack when we found the lakeside. Centering the coords was easy in the open, and we spotted the large cache easily. Excitement was dulled by the lack of contents, so we added 2 nice items and took nothing but photos of me blowing bubbles heehee.
Come on guys, bring some more nice things for this cache, it can hold heaps and quite big items...a flash pair of earrings awaits the next finder. Thanks CO.

Having just completed 'Shores 4' I decided to make my way over here. A lovely peaceful walk to the shore along the koala track.
Then at the shore I saw what I needed to do. I hadn't considered the tides for today's little mission so didn't know what to expect here. With runners on my feet I wasn't sure how this would go. All was well, nice and dry until 8m from GZ. Oh no!
Mmmmm nice cold muddy water. Haha. The things we do for a cache. TFTC. TNLN. SL.

Slopped across to GZ in my well-worn hiking boots and spotted the cache from afar. It was my job to do the retrieval and brought the container out of the lake so we could go through the contents together.
Nurseyjulie took B.C.'s pathtag and I took a beautiful birdie geocoin to move on.
Back I go into the mangroves to put the cache back on its perch
Careful with the vegetation when walking across here
TFTC Herbz! Bit of fun, this one!

A wander in this lovely trail to this one over the mud-flats to the GZ. Must have the tides right today as I was in the running shoes and didnt get wet. Ms Maddy went in a little further to the GZ itself and retrieved the cache. I took the pathtag. Oh BC had been here yesterday! All good with this one. The last on the trail today and a long walk back towards the cars. TFTC
Another day and another cache to find to continue my streak.
A new cache in the Herb's Nature Trail series. This gives me an excuse to go get that last one I missed right out at the other end of the reserve. That would be this one.
Almost 3 km's from the car park I made it all the way out here on a beautiful sunny winters day.
Maybe I should of checked the tides though. A little damp under foot over the last 100m but I made it. [^]
I left a TB and a pathtag for the next adventurer.
Thanks for the cache

Thought we would spot a koala here no koalas but found some lost germans. Directed them on the right way and lent them some mossis spray.
Have just read Aussiemates log and that's not what happened at all. We got lost!! and ended up 100 metres from this cache, but the rest of us were so tired we had to rest while Mrs Aussiemates went to find the cache. Then I realised I was out today working towards my 500 so I ran over too and found the "koala". Clever cache. The boys actually found a football out there and played for a while as well.???
Thanks for this cache.
Thanks for this cache.
I think Goodlookerz may be a bit delirious at this stage. Just ask Mr AM. He knew exactly where we were... And as for the football????
Oh, I've just checked with the Micromaster and he assures me there was a football and it did get kicked while I was on my search. Ok then

We'd reached #6 of the Nature trail and decided we were so close to Shores 4 we had to do it. We weren't sure how to get there so Mr AM (aka the Code Master) took control and we blindly followed. He had the trail map but no GPSr and no idea where the caches were. I had the GPSr but zero satellite reception. Goodlookerz had her GPSr and satellite reception - don't know what happened there. So - off we went. We hadn't gone far when I got reception and said "he's taking us towards Shores 3 not 4", but we kept on going. Sure enough we got to the end of the trail and we were 100m from Shores 3. Oh well. We won't be back here any time soon so might as well do it.
Quickly had the cuddly fella in hand - MicroMaster said he looked a bit ill, a bit green.
Thanks Herbz for another smiley

Out for a wander with Aussie Liahona I collected all 9 caches in the HNT series, plus the 2 extras on the way, and added Shores 3 and 4, so it became 13 finds on a walk of 10kms over 3 hours today [^]
Number 7 on our walk and my GPS batteries went flat Ooops, no spares AL had a laugh at that... Not to worry, I've got the smart phone, uhhh... no signal Good thing AL was with a different carrier Finally I have nav, but then it got very soggy underfoot here and by the time I got to GZ I was standing in ankle deep water Good thing sneakers are washable And the mozzies were beginning to get unpleasant [:(!] Glad I had the 80% Deet on, but the buzzing noise is evil Better find that cache quickly.... Ah, look, there it is Phew! Mmmm, signal's back so a quick download of nearby caches, and all is good again. Onward! TFTC, Herbz.

Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area - A hidden gem indeed.
I must admit we were really impressed with this area so close to Southport. If you wanted to introduce someone to geocaching then this is the perfect place. Easy walking / riding with wildlife galore. We watched one mob of around 30 roo's relaxing and feeding their joey's from only meters away - why pay to go to Lone Pine?
Topped off with an interesting array of clever but not too difficult caches. Well done Herbz!! Definitely a favourite series for us. Some fun riding out to this cache - Lucky the tide was out!!
Only minor problem - mozzies - take plenty of repellent, you've been warned
Containers and logs all Ok.
TFTC.

Well, silly me... Last time I was in here, finding all the other caches in the area, I missed this one. Don't know how, just didn't see it on the map. So, it cost me an 8+ kilometer walk today. Not a problem, it was a pretty cool day, but the humidity was high, and the mozzies were insane. Used half a can of Aldi's tropical strenth repellent. The Aldi's stuff is pretty good, and it kept them at a distance, well a little distance, and allowed us to complete the walk.
Went with my wife, and two kiddies, Natasha, my 4yo, and Riley 2yo, in his pram. The tracks were well suited to a pram, so I ended up pushing that, and piggybacking Natasha for about 2 km of the walk.... It was pretty funny.
Took a lot of pics on the way, and thought looking at the Satellite images, that I would be walking across knee deep swamp near GZ, but pleasantly surprised, about 90m out from GZ, knowing that I would be able to walk across with Natasha. So we did, and soon found the find in squishy stinky swampy ground, but at least our feet stayed dry.
A top location, great walk with lots of roos, wallabys, and entertainment for the family we had there on the day. TFTC, and a fav point.

We looked for a while here last year, although in a totally different spot, but the cache was gone. As we did the HNT today we decided to make the little detour here again. Found it today without any problems and with dry feet as well. TFTC Herbz.
This was a great day!! We were going for our 900th!! The weather was perfect!!
We had all the crew together Geo Mum, Geo Dad & Geo Girls!!!
We borrowed some bikes as ours were old and rusty or stolen, don't leave things in the front of the house without locking them up.
We had planned our run so that we could hit "Shores 3 - Koala" at low tide.
So here we were 80 metres to GZ and luckily I had read previous logs and came prepared.
Geo Mum & Geo Girls were happy for me to grab this one while they rested on the dry track.
The going was quite easy with the gumboots and low tide and I found an even drier route on the way back from the find.
GZ was quickly found and I spotted my prize so all was perfect.
Thanks Herbz TFTC SL TNLN
