We looked everywhere but couldn't find any thing. The area has lots of over growth as we'll. very nice area we looked around for a while
Hi
Considering the content of last logs I think that it may be appropriate for the cache owner to check on this cache and advise that it is still OK or not.
I will be checking this listing again in 28 days.

John

Searched high and low. This one has not been seen for a long while. Think we searched well enough to find it. May no longer exist.
Pretty sure we were looking in the right place, but the family that was camping there decided to come for a ride up to where we were while looking so ee had to cut it short and make up a bit of story so it didnt look suss. Beautiful place and will definately be back to stay for a bit.
Very interesting place with lots of history and well set out information signs. We came across this on the way home from Eungella to the Sunshine Coast going the inland way. Great views also of the surrounding mountains.
We read all of the history while waiting for gz to be clear. There were a few other people around - unusual as this was so out of the way. ( seeing the other log on the same day, I guess other cachers were there too...)
Looked in the obvious spot and further afield but nothing to be seen.
It has been such a long time since anyone has found or even apparently tried to find this cache that I guess it's gone.
Please check on it and replace if it really is gone as this really is a great spot deserving of a cache.

Unfortunately we were unable to find this cache even though we searched ground zero and also the surrounding area over and over. We believe this cache has gone missing especially with the length of time since it has been found. It is such a shame as this is an amazing historical site we would not have visited without a chance of finding a smilie.
Would love someone to take on maintenance of my Mackay/Bowen Basin caches. There were no geocaches with 400 km when I moved here in 2003... Moving back south... any takers? Especially Whistling Dixie... It’s a long standing cache by Aussie standards. [email protected] for volunteers. Would be a shame to archive them.
Great place for a cache, would never had thought to visit the area if it wasnt there. TFTC
Found on a side trip on our way home from Lake Elphinstone.
Cache is in very good condition & full of good quality swaps.
Left necklace & fairy wand, took jetplane.

I'd been past the turn-off for Mt Britton a few times without realising what was there, so this made for a good excuse to check it out. Some amazing history - I'd like to have spent more time here. The creek crossings have washed-out so it might be for high clearance vehicles only for a short time (the council was at the 2nd crossing and looked like they about to start work on it). There had also been some burning off close to the cache, but everything was still intact and in great order. I really enjoyed this one.

Excellent location, was a little dissapointed when we got there and realised the scale of information that is availaible, we would have brought the camper and spent the weekend if we knew. This one really needs more info posted for cachers, the family would have loved to spend longer here but we were just passing through on our way home and had to get just one more before the end of the day, will have to come back with the camper and study that info.
Cache in excellent condition and overflowing with swaps. TFTC

Wow Love this history!! I enjoyed wander around this area - visit all.... Took: Unite for Diabetes Travel Bug and SL. Thanks freaky kwyjibo for organising for the cache and hunt.
Very nice cache. Cache is very full and was in plain sight. Replaced, hiding it on the same spot under a large flat rock.

... WHAT'S GOING ON FREAKY ?
2nd one of yours where I have managed a find without the coords ?
Another site I had ear marked for a cache but never got around to ...
saw yours pop up, watched it all week and raced out late Saturday afternoon on the way to Mackay to have a go.
Got out to the locale, and the gpsr' had me out in the sticks, scratching around ... after coming up empty handed ... started to have a think about it ... and quickly assumed that I was in the wrong place ...
climbed back out of the ravine, put my toys away and thought about where I would have put one ... drove back and had a look around ... picked an obvious site ... wandered over and 'hello' [^]
filled out the log and grabbed the FTF and a geocoin ... left a couple of other coins in its place ... and took a long extended fix on the actual cache position ... over 250m this time [?]
anyway top spot ... TFTC
