It's time to lay this one to Rest. Murch Getaway has gotten away in the current floods. Roads are closed to this location. I really don't cache much these days. This one has lasted quite a while. Has seen floods and has return. Great spot for camping and fishing. Thanks to all that have been out here and found it.
Finally! I can't remember how long it has been all up, waiting to sign this log. But there have been a few attempts over the years, but certain forcesof nature have kept me from signing until today .When this cache went missing in the floods, I messaged the CO and assisted in a small way, to try and get this cache back in play .I am so grateful to Allan_b for agreeing to keep this old cache in play.
Was heading to this one but came to a flooded part of the road and decided to head back..I shall return once the water subsides.
Long over due return for this cache since the floods late last year. GZ looking a lot different after things had dried up. Cache is back!! The area by the river is very wet during winter. It can be a bit boggy and slippery on the vehicle tracks. Take care getting around here
River area closed due to recent flooding. Water pooled in some places. Lots of mozzies. Will re assess in 3 weeks
With the Goulburn River peaking some weeks back this area is inaccessible. Tried to get there last week and couldn't. Still a lot of water about. The cache my of drifted from its location. Not sure and not when the area will be accessible again.
Distracted by lots of possibke hidey spots n lots of bottles n beer cans until i read actual description! Great cache! =)
Found with Crafty Dusty and the geopooch Pippa on our road trip from Sydney to Victoria. Lovely spot! Thank you for the lovely walk, we parked at the cemetery and walked in. Much enjoyed by the pooch, and the river at the end was gorgeous,so favourite point from us . TFTC!
Found with tassie expat while exploring this nice area. Hidden away very well. Had a quick fish while we were there. Tftc
frmen1 and I were in the area when frmen1 noticed a double opportunity (geocache + chance to wet a line). A bit rough in (not for a low 2WD), but our geovehicle managed easily. There was a family just leaving when we got there as one of their kids had decided to have an impromptu swim. The child looked wet and pleased with themselves. GPS took me to a spot that I circled twice with no luck. Then it took me elsewhere, then even further afield, then back to spot #2. frmen1 initially was also directed to spot #2, but after another check of smartphone, went straight to where I'd circled twice and found it quickly! TNLN TFTC P.S. We're ordering take away tonight lol
Lovely spot, stayed a couple of nights in the van nearby, thank you for bringing me here
TFTC.not far from the Ossario we detoured down the track. The Suzi could have driven the whole way, but Linda was still a bit tender after shoulder surgery. I walked the last 100 meters fro a quick grab. A lovely spot on the river.

Would have been interesting getting in here if we had any more rain overnight! Still firm enough for the geoPajero though and we were able to make this one a park and grab. Great hiding spot, well away from muggle eyes! Thx Allan_b ftc here, looks like a great camping spot. Cheers

After checking out a replacement for the Geowagon in Shep I decided to take a few back roads home and see what I could find.
A great little spot along the river just out of town and I can see why you spent a bit of time down here camping, fishing and relaxing.
The boat ramp could be a bit scetchy at times though.
Thanks Allan_b TFTC.

Too right, sure encountered steep dips enroute and boat ramp sure is steep. Cheers & thanks for bringing us here
After paddling around Lake Nagambie yesterday, I needed a break, and with high winds, it added to my decision not to go back again today. So I headed to Whroo and surrounds for some terra firma caching. This is a lovely quiet spot. Found the cache without any trouble. Those two boat ramps are the steepest and bumpiest I've ever seen.
My thanks for the cache, Allan_b.

A great area here, we enjoyed our brief visit. Left a TB (Geo Ring of Fire) to cool off for a little while.
Thanks for bringing us to this spot.

Today we are very happy that it is mid week and not a public holiday of any type as we feel that we would not have had the place to ourselves. Looks like a great camping spot. SL TFTC
We met Derek, from Derek's Car Carriers. Nice bloke. Full of local information. He lives in the mudbrick house at the start of the track in.
His missus has the general store in town.
Must pop in next time we're in town.
Found with +Wife, in the fading daylight.
Thanks for bringing us here and for highlighting this great little camping spot. Thanks also for the cache Allan_b

On the way north with 6hinemoa2 and 08151605 to complete the Whroo series and this happened to be my last cache in Romsey to find. 6hinemoa2 managed the track magnificently. Lots of fisherpersons out today. Thanks Allan_b
Found on a fun caching expedition with sorceysal and 08151605 today. It wasn't too hot at the this stage and we drove to GZ after negotiating that entrance. Plenty of muggles fishing in this popular spot.

People were camped by the river nearby, but they couldn't see me as I made the find. TFTC allan_b.
What a great place to find a cache here along the river, we were almost tempted to camp here overnight but the water pump generator was just too loud, disturbing the ambience of this lovely spot.
Thanks Allan_b for the placement here for us and others to enjoy.

Stopped past this one while on the way back to Melbourne. GeoSon directed as GeoDaughter followed behind happily taking photos of puddles and poo
Quick find, kids enjoyed doing some swaps.

Hi there allan_b.
We found your cache **"Murch Getaway"** today. (This makes our find count 19246).
We are staying in Shepparton for a few days to pick up some caches. We battled with city/town traffic and parking meters yesterday, so we decided to cache further afield today and found some that took us out for a tour around the countryside. This place would be a great spot to camp, but we may not be able to get our carvan in here.
We found 16 caches today (DNF'd 0) & thoroughly enjoyed our cache raid. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
***Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book is in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Just taking this one offline for the moment. Access to this area by vehicle and foot is blocked by water. once the water clears it will be slippery and possibly boggy for vehicles . The river is up and slowly rising but this will not affect the cache. Probably give it a few days. Its kinda warmish here atm and things should dry up quickly
Out on another adventurous family road trip to Mexico, now with geosis along for the ride.
Not a DNF but a did not look. I don't think the campers appreciated us driving through their camp at midnight, we didn't appreciate them being camped right at GZ.

A lonely spot today and a quiet walk to the river which got a bit hectic as my phone was running out of power. I managed to find the well hidden cache and signed the log. Thanks Allan b
Long drive today so stopped for a run! XC exploring to find cache in nice habitat Thanx
we found this cache full of water, we drained it a put our sticker on the lid. this could do with a log change, unfortunately we didn't have a spare one with us. TFTC
Heading to Ballarat for a weekend of birthday celebrations with family. Taking every opportunity to grab some caches along the way. An easy enough find once at GZ.
Thanks allan_b for placing & maintaining the cache for us to find.

Interesting getting in here in a Hyundai Elantra at this time of year.... took a bit but found it in the end. TNLN TFTC
Muggle partner, Brodie and I had to do a mad dash to find some curtains.......since it appears that 15 year old Brodie doesn't like being home alone and he'd unkindly shredded the curtains where we are staying
So we went to Echuca but ended up in Shepparton and then, after finding almost matching fabric which i'll now have to spend tomorrow sewing up, I decided to try and complete Cybergran V's Cockney alphabet series.
We returned to our acommodation at 11pm after finding 17 caches , sadly also having 2 DNFs but thoroughly enjoying sightseeing around the area while doing so
Unless mentioned otherwise, please know that your cache and log book was in good condition.
It was dark by the time we got near Murchison and so I drove Harry in, enjoying the odd puddle and the twists and turns
Saw trhe sign that tried to scare us off by telling us that water levels can rise unexpectedly and quickly here however that didn't stop us from finding this cache in this great little spot

After doing the cache A Long Way From Home, I headed down the track beside the cemetery, which is not the wisest choice I've made. Driving to GZ was quite an adventure. A caravan was all set up on the river with generator lasting away and spoiling the ambience of the area. I made a quick find and continued out on a much better track than the one on the way in Thanks for showing me thi what should be a peaceful area and the cache allan b
Found with geonps for our Kids Matter program...2nd find for today, good day for a swim in the river, but just a little mud sliding for one of the kids.
Found it with A-team122 for our kids matter program took a little time to find it but with a little scouring our second find today
Our trip to Nagambie for camping with a few cache stopovers, of course. A fellow geo cacher helped us look but it wasn't where he remembered so maybe missing?
What a great location for a cache thanks for bringing us here. I wasn't sure if my car was going to be suitable for the area but it was all good in the end.
I am so glad I didn't ave to drive my little Corolla in here, very thankful that I was chauffeur driven. This is the last cache for me to complete this area. It looks like a delightful fishing spot but I would be very wary of wriggly sticks in the summertime.
Thanks for the cache. Took nothing, left a signature.

What a beautiful hike into the bush. After some searching (gps all over the shop) we finally found it! Left some swaps (bubbles yo yo bouncy ball and stickers) for NTF
A beautiful place for camping and fishing but, even better place for a cache. Such a quiet, peaceful position. Found with misschief18 and Bentley TB

This is certainly the place for swimming, camping and fishing if you like that sort of thing! Couldn't find a "good" road to get to this one. Found with taurus1955 and BentleyTB. Left a small racing car. TFTC
As there has been a fair bit of rain recently we were glad we were in the Prado as wee drove to GZ for our fourth stop of the day. Of course we could have easily walked in if we weren't so lazy. What a great little camping spot this would make. We spent a few minutes hunting around before we located the the cache. Signed the log, re hid the cache, and after a last look at this pretty spot, we are on to the next . Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
A business trip to Murchison allowed a few spare minutes to find this cache a bit tricky as Gps was everywhere then it settled and the smiley face was ours. Thanks AlanB
Great holiday spot, loved the river swing Nice hide - took a snake for the SSSSnake SSSSwap cache, left a few new things and signed log. TFTC
Well I'll be....
How is it that I have camped and fished up and down this river for so many years, yet I still had no idea this beaut' little spot existed[?]
No doubt I will be coming back here some day soon with boat and family in tow.
Well..... at least a boat.

In Nagambie for the Australian and Oceania Canoe Polo Championships with some spare time to have a look around and grab some caches. A lovely tranquil spot by the river. Saw the biggest snake I've seen for years near the bridge - very fat and healthy looking! TFTC
