On the 26/09/2008 I placed this guy, gee that is a long time ago, can you remember that far back. This cache along with over a hundred and fifty others have been adopted out to other folk who I hope are happy to look after these guys as the ageing Bushfire has developed a health problem that will only get worse so a big thanks to all these great friends. Finally, I must thank my good friend Quickhealer2 for looking after this guy as it has got to the stage when I must pass it on and wish it good luck for the future. I know it is in good hands. And lastly, I will give it another favourite because I can now. Thanks for all the great logs that have been placed over many years.
Found today while I was lingering around Landy Fields, waiting for the geokid athletes. Nice to wander down this way and knock off another two Barwon caches with one stroll.
I found this one a couple of weeks ago, but didnt have a pen so I decided to come back. Took a bit of fiddling but got the log signed and put back. Pika 3/7/23
An extra find today on the way to tick off an Adventure Lab point along the Barwon River. Looks like the area has been cleared recently, but still a few spider webs across the GZ. TFTC Bushfire.
We've walked and cycled past this spot so many times... Often the grass can be precariously long but today we noticed they'd given the area a real clear out. The mosaics were all in their glory as the youngest members of the 5 seeked this one out. In good time we were signing the logbook and on our way. Thanks for the hide Bushfire
This was a nice easy find and I can assure you it hasn’t been washed away with all of the floods

Due to all the water that is around this guy may have floated away but when the water recedes low enough I will check it out. It should be still there but may be a little soggy.
Nice quick find for us today!

*River Bike Ride Waiting For Venturers To Arrive Adventure #3*
My Geoson had a Venturers event riding bikes from Fyansford to Breakwater. Good ol' Geodad had to do the pick up and drop off, of course. However, that was an excellent excuse to drag my own bike out and hit up a few caches!
An easy find, yet quietly sly as well.
Thanks heaps, Bushfire!

Found with dalerious on a wonderful trip to Geelong. The river looked awesome and we were wishing we had the kayaks with us; or even just our $25 dinghy which provided so much fun in the past, but sadly, is no longer with us as she came to her end on a cold rainy day looking to rectify a DNF on Nagambie Lake earlier in the year. We will be back to paddle the Barwon in the not too distant future. Was a lovely feature here at gz. Thank you Bushfire for your generosity to caching over the years .
Found and signed while on Christmas hol's with catnap777.
Our first Christmas together and we spent it chasing challenge caches and those needed to fulfill them like this old one that fills a slot in cat's Jasmer grid.
We also had a somber event to attend later in the day as we finally got to farewell dear Aunty Maz among family and friends, but we had plenty of time in the morning to pick up a cache or two which would honour her adventurous spirit. [^]
TFTC Bushfire. A nice place to cogitate.

Nice and quick find on this wet morning. I had to wait a while for the muggles to stop running/riding by but was collected easy enough. TFTC
After a lovely long walk with the CO near the Barwon River, talking about many things both Geocaching related and other topics, we were in the area and decided to wander down to find this cache. One thing we noticed about this cache is that you have to be quite wary of muggles suddenly appearing. Whilst standing with the evergreen Bushfire and signing the log, a muggle and their dog appeared as if by magic. Fortunately, they seemed more interested in a ball than what we were doing near this sadly neglected sculpture. We have great admiration for Bushfire's ability to find interesting places to hide caches and this is another of those places that most would not give a second glance to, but deserve a look. It would have been quite an impressive sculpture when it was first installed. Thank you for the great afternoon and this cache Bushfire.
Not too tight. Wandering around lab caching and finding some physical ones on the way. Nice
The feature was a bit overgrown, but the container was soon found in about the 4th place we looked. As the description says, retrial however was another matter. Finally figured out the correct orientation and the log was revealed. Returning it was just as fiddly, but all done and good!
It is that time of year for SKI Pair when we say goodbye to our Gippsland area and set off to do some travelling for an extended period of time. After last year when Covid restrictions saw us spent all of winter at home for the first time in many years e were looking forward to getting away again. Now overseas travel is still definitely out of the question so we decided to try doing some in Victoria before heading north. Mrs SKI has some loose connections with Geelong, so we decided to give the area a try and hope that the weather is kind.
After talking to Rebel Acts he decided that wasn't a bad idea and decided to join us for a few days of serious caching. Today was our first day, so after arrival we set off to see what we could see and find.

After a weekend in torquay with the family, I met up with OZHockeyChick who was also in Geelong for a spot of afternoon caching.
Looked in a few obvious spots before eventually spilling the cache. Retrieving it was a different issue but I soon had the log in hand.
Thanks Bushfire for the cache.

It’s busy here during lockdown, so I’m also out during my 2 hr allotment on my new toy hoping that my daughter might actually be able to get married after two previous C word postponements.
Making my way back to my HQ, looked at one more hide. After a nice cruise along this side of the river, I came along to this hide. Hmm, a structure that had me thinking, especially from one of the previous logs, I though I’d have no chance as I have no TOTT with me at all. Do a cursery look around, here, there, under that, in there, in this, I give up, but hang on....., jackpot!

Tftc Bushfire. Speaking of which, I'm just being visited by the spotfire that is the propulsion method of a hot air balloon, literally flying over gz as I write! Such a beautiful morning. Off to get another.
A nice easy cache while we were in the area this afternoon. We are not sure if the cache is as it should be. Thank you for the walk along this lovely path. SL TFTC
The geo mobile is at the panel beaters after some misadventures in the Grampians over the weekend. However due to this virus the parts for the geo mobile can not arrive from Japan until 20th April. So anikano is l on bike for the foreseeable future. Have no idea how long can keep cache streak up now but going to try. A quick one on the ride home after boxing. Tftc
Bushfire has been over to Carnegie to collect a few of my caches and got a FTF if I remember rightly. Doing 135km Round the Bay from Geelong tomorrow. Staying overnight so went for a great bike ride down to the Barwon before heading back into town. Rode a bit further along the river past the Athletics track and stopped here to take in the river views. Chased a few wrens and egrets as well. Interesting GZ. No water needed. Found the sneaky hide. No 2 of 2 today. Thanks Bushfire for maintaining this cache.
As I emerged from the bushes after signing a few walkers warned me of the potential for snakes. Luckily I saw none. TFTC
This one took a while and a little perseverance but we got there in the end TFTC
Swing past here for a quick find as im slowly giving up hope that Nocturnal Wander will be found and one has streaks to maintain.... TFTC.

I knew the spot having ridden past several times, pity it's in such poor repair.
Took a bit of hunting and a good bit of manual dexterity to retrieve this one but got there in the end.
That makes 150 so I'm happy, but maybe a bit greedy too... Going after a few more before heading home

Nature is well and truly doing its best to reclaim this location. It was good to see this interesting piece of artwork that is still remaining. It is another nice walkway along the river here.
Thanks to Bushfire for placing this cache.

This took us some time to find. Probably doesn't help that it is rather dark at this time of the night in Winter. Shame that the artwork has been damaged.
Thanks for the cache and bringing us here.

Continuing our bike ride on a sunny afternoon, we came upon this colourful pottery ... and a cleverly hidden cache. SL at 3.44 pm Took some photos and continued on. #4536 TFTC Bushfire
I did not manage to park at the closest access point, but enjoyed the walk along the river. A friend phoned me and as the conversation continued I overshot the cache location and had to backtrack. Using the phone for this one led me astray until I used some of my geosense which resulted in a smile. Thanks bushfire
Quick easy find on a fab spring day...... def wouldnt do the one in summer with out gloves.

We Had to clear alot of the plant away or never would have found it. Could barely see the actual clay water things before. but found my mcdougall crew will be back with the kids and some prizes to do a toy swap.
Found this one on our second attempt. Not sure why it was tricky the first time. Tftc
This took longer to find than it should have. After searching for a while and thinking it may have been sabotaged. I changed my focus and tried something else. Sure enough, the cache was safe and sound. The feature has seen better days unfortunately. Thanks for bringing me here Bushfire.
Neville_devil and myself where over this side of town cleaning up a few caches that have been on the to do list for quite some time.
We just never seem to have had a chance to get this little guy. Anyway today we got here. The coordinates had us in one place but that didn't agree with the cache note or our cache senses. We were looking for some time I asked Neville had he checked in a particular spot and he assured me he had. Anyway more searching more searching and more searching. Then I checked in the spot I had asked about and yep I saw it. I bit of a twist and a turn and it was in our hands. The log was signed and all returned again. Thanks Bushfire for bringing us to this little piece of art along the Barwon

Out and about hunting today, and figured we'd try this easier one after not attempting the nearby Ice and Fire hide...
Bumped into some fellow treasure hunters and had a good chat nice to talk about common interest in the game!
Always a buzz when us noobies get a find before some more seasoned hunters ;p
Great hide in another great area along the river

Tftc. This cache was awesome for two reasons. First is because ive only been down gravel pts rd to go to Grants Wreckers so i always thought this area was a dump. But now thanks to this Cache ive found a diamond in the rough. Wow what a beautiful location. Second i got to meet new caching people and they are very nice people. Thanks goes to them for finding this cache. Thank you BushFire for this Cache.
Met with some fellow cachers today which made looking for this one a bit easier.. TFTC
Found some fellow caches along the way and helped out. After a quick look had the cache in hands. Tftc
A quick find after ignoring the GPS and relying on some geosense thank for the hide Bushfire
Out for a walk with the dog this arvo and thought this would be a nice quick grab.
Unfortunately it's a DNF for me. After a brief search and thrusting my hand amongst the bushes , I came out with red hands from berry juice.
That'll do me... Maybe another day. It's 26/02/2016, 17:45 Find #1211
quite overgrown here, so maybe it's in deep somewhere.
Cheers

Found this cache while on a rise with the the parents. Took a bit of searching and was about to give up when the cache was found. Clever hiding spot. TFTC.
Out for an afternoon cycle along The Barwon River with Poppet_93 and muggle husband and decided to collect a few smilies along the way.
Only problem we didn't have a pen.
Will need to revisit and sign log book at another time.
Second smilie for the afternoon. Pouty this hiding lace no longer works as intended. We spent a while searching for this one, but perseverance paid off.

Found this one after a bit of look around. Turned out the gps was almost spot on, it just took me a while to work out where it was. It's a pity this isn't working as designed anymore. TB is missing. Tftc.
Finally found this guy on my sixth attempt!!!!!! Armed with a hint the cache was located but retrieving was another story!! 20 minutes later and cuts and bruises on my hands a certain tool got it out. Nice size as well signed log and replaced were it should be easier to access but stilling the same spot

Signed the logbook and was happy as that is one more Barwon cache found ( only a million to go) relaxed by finding 12 munzees on the ride home

Still cant find this guy i have no doubt it is there though i think i have to admit that urban caches are my strong point but yes i will be back ti attempt this guy for the 5th time!!
After another DNF I returned again and yes the cache is still there and I could see it but it now hidden the way it was originally. The pen and log book are all as should be so it is still good to go. I do agree that the vandals have indeed spoilt this watering hole which was intended to look after our four legged friends.
I spent quite a while searching but came up empty the area is very overgrown compared with the pics in the gallery and the structure is almost unrecognisable as an h20 dispenser. Lots of broken bits which is sad. I wish I had seen it new. Enjoyed the walk along the river from Landy Field. Thank you.
After a couple of DNF's I went and checked this guy today and all is well, pen works, log book OK and most important is the container is dry inside so replaced and it is waiting for the next finder.
Did not notice the traveller though.

Tftc. Nice find. After hunting all around. Put my normal glasses on instead of sunnies and can see it better. Yes watch out for the ants and spiders. Love the spider webs.
Geodog came in handy when nearby worker was wondering why I was trampling through the trees (looking for his lost ball). Autumncs made the find and got covered in ants (I HATE ants so that was lucky). TFTC bushfire.
Tftc bushfire. Finally got this one. Like the cache but to other cachers beware of ants.
