Spent 40mins giving this a very carefull search. Pretty sure I was able to pinpoint GZ--no sign of the cache. Checked every likely and unlikely spot. This needs maintenence or archiving. Note also, that the track is currenly closed due to slips (though I didn't encounter any coming in from the south).

02-May-11
Will clear the area for new cache placements.
Thanks for visiting - if you've found it.
Sorry for those who couldn't find it.
But is't a nice walk anyway Wink

14-Feb-11
Confirmation that it still exists needs to be placed. Not a cache in this vicinity

25-Dec-10
Four of us searched for about 30 - 45 minutes. Zilch!! Nothing!! Nada!! Either it is VERY well camouflaged or else it has been muggled. I assume it is up the bank. Confirmation of its being there would be great. Thanks for the exercise on a beautiful Christmas evening anyway.

15-Dec-10
3rd time down there this time at low tide. I wandered up and down the mangrove flats pin pointing the spot up on the bank. All the angles I tried all led me back to the same spot. Nothing to find! After a few emails back and forth with the last few people to find it and I'm certain I'm in the right spot. Can we get a note saying yay or nay to it being there? cheers

07-Nov-10
Had a good search with bjarni1 behind every tree within 7m of the track and came out empty handed. The tree that looks most suitable had a bit of a walked in track leading up to it? Walking all the way there and back with nothing to show for it is a little annoying Razz Will try get some more clues for a future visit.

Our third Mangemangroa Reserve cache this afternoon. A very hot afternoon, and it was incredible to see so many people running up and down the steep stairs - they did not look and sound like they were enjoying themselves! The tide was out, exposing the mudflats at the boardwalk. No trouble locating the cache at GZ. Thanks.

Nice walk. TFTC.

13-Dec-09
Had a nice walk.
The clue was helpfull.

06-Dec-09
It was a bit surreal walking on the boardwalk with the tide right in. The tide level came up to the boardwalk joists so it seemed that you were walking on a floating walkway.

In: Geocoin.

Cheers for the cache.

Geocoin drop.

lovely walk

Got really close before cover & cliffs made my GPS go all over the place; estimated where it was pointing when it was pointing, and found it easily. I covered it up a little better.

A lot of people were doing really hard work jogging up and down the hill.

Left the Jeep Safari TB, took the yellow/purple Jandal, which may become part of a travel bug (if I can find my unused TBs).

11-Oct-09
Had the grand kids out for the day in the camper and walked down from the school . whew tough climb back out of the track but lots of people on the boardwalk today.easy find when the 7 meter limit is scaned.

20-Sep-09
Struggled to get my very old GPS to work under the bush canopy so it took longer than it should have. Left a YELLOW RABBIT. Thanks.

What a walk. No fun with kids as you need to carry them back up all those stairs. Out dice in rubber spider. TFTC

Think we must have taken the long way for this one Sad but a quick find when we finally made it to GZ. Interesting walkway however it was now bucketing down and we were wet through by the time we got back to the car so this had to be the last for the day T4TC.

The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Not perfect but close. In and out with the support of the local barking dog.
Thanks KiwiLeon for the cache.

Always a pleasant walk this one, with some decent size puriri trees and lots of bird life. Love the the way that the walkway curves out over the mangroves (you can see it on google earth). Did it from the northern end this time. Took the Ireland Geocoin.
Thanks for another good one Leon.

First to log, but not first to find. No problems with the cache co-ords. Was really surprised no one had claimed this one earlier, bumped into the FTF party as they were leaving GZ, Well Done to M@ and team.
IN: Ireland 2007 GC
OUT: Castle Man's Traveling GW5 Sunburst Geocoin
SL, TFTC

An easy find, GPS pointed straight to the cache although when I marked the co-ords there was a difference to those posted, but obviously not enought to worry about.

The hard part of this cache is getting back up the hill.
