Stopped by with Grey-n-Red, OHSilky and DACooper. We were on our way to the Hatfield McCoy GeoTrail Mega Event in Kentucky. We all put our heads together on this one. OHSilky will be sending in the answers for the group. This one gets a favorite from me. Love these earthcaches.
Heading over to the Hatfield/McCoy Mega event with OHSilky, Matkatamiba, and DACooper, grabbing a few earthcaches along the way. I enjoyed the history in the write up on this one. OHSilky will be sending answers for our group. Thanks for placing the earthcache.
This has been a trip long in the planning, I contacted Grey-n-Red a couple of months ago, asking if he was going to attend the Hatfield McCoy Geotrail again, and if I could ride along. He informed me that Matkat and OHSilky were going to attend as well, great!! I was elated that I could actually make it! On our way there, while there and on our way back we stopped at many caches, including the fantastic work by Wendy with the pig art. We had a fantastic time and signed most of our logs with US4, Unusual Suspects 4 or with our individual caching names.
On Friday night we got the coordinates for all of the art, and decided we were going to go after dark. Turns out that was probably for the better as there was less traffic, only had one police encounter with a sheriff asking if we needed any help and when we told him we were find drove on away, never even got out of his car. That's the kind of encounter I like.
During our trip, we completed a bunch of the Hatfield McCoy Geotrail caches, but unfortunately didn't complete all of them, yet. We did several earth caches and other puzzles and just had a fantastic time.
Thanks to all the CO's and especially Wendy for the fantastic time and all the quality caches.

On a road trip with Matkatamiba, Grey-n-Red and DA Cooper to the McCoy-Hatfield Geo-event in eastern Kentucky and W. Virginia. Of course we grabbed caches going to and coming from the event and this was one of them! We signed most of our logs with "US4" for the Unusual Suspects 4 to save you log space and us time! Some we signed with our individual names.
Absolutely love ECs. This was no exception. Loved your write-up.

Out in the Tri-State area on business. Business complete and hours to go for my flight, what is a geocacher to do? Get caches in 3 states in one day, of course! First Ohio cache (and, therefore, my first Ohio earthcache as well). Email sent, picture will be posted when I get it downloaded.
Mayhem has been pulling 10 or more hour days this week and I was feening for a cache so I met up with my "other" better half from the Keetonfamily to do a little caching. This was our first stop. Answers will be sent in a bit....nice quick EC. Thanks for this stop.

I have come to Ohio from Savannah, Georgia for the next week or so to visit family and of course I remembered to bring my G P S'r so that I could change a few more icons on the Geo Map into smiles. Unless other wise stated the coords have all been relatively accurate and it has not taken me long to have the log in hand and defiled by my mark. Thanks for putting this together and for maintaining it. Remember, it is all about the miles and the smiles ~TFTC
I have come down to this area to cache the Hatfield and McCoy Geo Trail. I always look for the Earth Caches in the area. Thanks for putting this together! Cache On

Our visit to Portsmouth's corner of the state a couple weeks previous left us feeling we had much unfinished business. Today found us with some free time (well... we pretended it was free...) on our hands, so we made the drive again, certain we could do in the rest of the list. We were sadly mistaken in that regard, largely because we invested over an hour in each of three caches, but we still had a great day caching. I guess we will be back, because it seems we STILL have some unfinished business in the Portsmouth region...
Our fourth stop, this was the first piece of unfinished business we accomplished today. We had to bypass this one last time because of the library closing and we weren't able to get back that day before darkness fell. This turned out to be one of my favorite earthcache stops. I've never had the opportunity to see coal "native" and in conjunction with the other obvious layers, it was very cool! It didn't hurt that the ground was littered with ample samples of all the layers, and we spent a fair bit of time examining each type. Thanks so much for setting up this earth cache!
Find #1129. Longest streak - 366 days. Longest slump - 2 days.

We visited this earthcache on our trip down the Ohio River. Had a nice time trying to figure out the ores and layers. TFTC
First find for the day. Now finally heading towards Midwest Geobash. Of course we so took the long way to get there....but it wouldn't have been a fun/mad vacation/road trip without hitting tons of caches . Thanks for the fun and the smiley to help cover our map.
This was a nice little surprise that we were able to grab on our drive through. Who knows when or if we will ever make it this direction again. We took home a piece of charcoal that was on the ground. Taking it home with us so we can do little experiment at home and see if we can light it on fire. Thanks for a fun earthcache.

Finally the parental units are getting the kids caching accounts back up to date (wow what a pain.....should have stayed right on top of it). If information was needed for this cache, please reference the information from "The Ant Farm" who has already logged it. I'm a minor and my parents help log me and I don't have email.
Finally getting the kids accounts up to date. Back tracking is never fun when it comes to this. If it was an earthcache or a virtual cache, please refer to the email that was sent to the CO from the parental units "The Ant Farm". Our daughter does not have an email account due to being a minor. She did participate with all cache finds.
Left early this morning catching up with my Columbus geo friends Teambobcats, Trybble1 and Suburban Hillbillies for a geocaching trip taking us through Pickaway, Ross, Pike, Scioto, Lawrence, Gallia, Meigs and Athens counties. We found traditional, letterbox, virtual, earthcache and mystery type caches along the way. To save space in the cache logs we signed S.C.C. for 'Sunday Caching Crew'. This was one of our finds for the day. Thanks for the cache and the fun hunt!

Cool formations, reminds me of being in New Zealand and seeing a coal seem that was 50' high!
Got to fill in 8 counties on the day.
