On such a beautiful day, it was a nice casual walk to GZ, where the cache was located safe and sound. I found it a little hard to remove the lid, but once the cache was opened up, I removed some of the old log paper, leaving behind enough paper for many more logs, but please, no long stories, just a date and name will suffice. This is a wonderful place to visit, so I do hope that future geocachers enjoy this one. As always though, take care in the area, and be aware that snakes may be living nearby as well.

I love squeezing every last second out of public holidays which usually combine with RDO's at work. So, with a 4 day long weekend in the offing, a few weeks ago I reviewed my adventure wish list and decided that a solo hike of Carnarvon Gorge and specifically Battleship Spur would fit the bill.Viko Cz subsequently messaged me to say he was back in Australia for business for a few weeks and had some weekends free for a geocaching adventure, and was also keen to visit Carnarvon. On Anzac Day, we travelled from Roma to Carnarvon and hiked out to Big Bend, visiting as many of the side attractions as we had time for including Boolimba Bluff. On Friday, we climbed Battleship Spur in the morning and then spent a lazy day enjoying the gorge at Big Bend. Yesterday, we got an early start and hiked back down the gorge stopping at the Moss Garden along the way. After visiting Mickey's creek Gorge, we finally hit the road, stopping at the Rolleston pub for lunch, before collecting some caches around Moura and Theodore, before an interesting Saturday night at the Cracow pub.We are heading back to Brisbane today, stopping to collect interesting caches along the way. I used to spend a lot of time in these parts 20 years ago for business. A quick stop here - great opportunity to stretch the legs. RIP Sweetsour thanks for continuing this one YOF. Pete#7,885

#5741 [10:38] our extended weekend with crookedpete is ending, the main mission "exploring carnarvon gorge" is over and now we're heading back to brisbane via a bit of side road to enjoy more of local country side and more caches Smile and this was one of them. thanks a lot of placing it here, it's always good to have some reason to stretch legs during long drive.

I pulled off from Burnett Highway along Hebbards Road, and initially pulled over at Binjour Range Rest Area. I started to walk to GZ when I saw the track option, so reverted back to the Prado, and then drove to GZ. The cache container was in good shape, but the logbook is starting to look tattery. I liked that the container had holes in the bottom to allow draining of any water that ingresses. Thanks weroamin for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------This 1.5 week trip, the purpose was the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster (QOGM) in Longreach, with its aim to encourage tourism and support in rural towns. Departing from Brisbane on Friday 15/09/2023, I travelled solo taking the northern route through Gayndah, Emerald and Jericho on my way to the event, and then returned through Blackall, Morven, St George, Goondiwindi, and Toowoomba arriving back on Monday 25/09/2023.My Longreach highlights included the two QOGM muster/rally days visiting Muttaburra and Isisford; the Qantas Founders Museum; Stockmans Hall of Fame; Silver Tails Rail Sunset Tour; and the general historical town vibe. Other highlights to/from Longreach included climbing Mt Scoria; Barcaldine's Tree of Knowledge and kayaking in the water park; Blackall woolshed scour; and the smaller intriguing and historical towns that I passed through.During my travel days when I was time-poor, I targeted geocaches that were older in age, high D-T, puzzles/challenges, and rare cache types. In addition, I added 7-8 visited LGAs to my statistics. The scenery was memorable with picturesque sunsets, and a diversity of flora and fauna. There were plenty of kangaroos and wallabies, emus, goannas/lizards, brolgas, hawks, and alas wild hogs, and goats.Today, a full travel day was pencilled, driving from Gayndah to Emerald via Biloela.I started the day visiting the towns lookout before attending the local parkrun. Well and truly warmed up, I closed out my Gayndah visit with a drive up to the lookout and then visited the [Upside Down Bridge](https://coord.info/GC8ZMQ3) in the town across the river - an engineering masterpiece!I tend to be far too slow in my travel days morning, perhaps stopping at geocaches more than I should, although I enjoyed my visits to various towns. Perhaps at the hottest time of the day, I hurriedly hiked up Mt Scoria, and the basalt columns were impressive.I had lunch in Biloela and completed the [Biloela My Home Town](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/af82ce36-2dcf-4ff3-ab59-75a503cad4f2) Adventure Lab, and then I decided to take fewer stops to then arrive in Emerald just as the light was fading. Post dinner, I tried to find a few more town geocaches, visiting the botanic gardens to the south, and more of the Emerald cotton geoart.

slept hereLooking for something to fill in time whilst not studying, it was suggested that I finally get around to logging THOSE caches long found but never logged. Some even have funny stories of being visited not only once or twice, but a few even have had a third or fourth visit before realising I've been there and done that. The date is as near to the correct day the cache was found. So, sorry for the generic and late log.JABs.The full story can be found here https://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=c74de4cf-b59f-4ee4-9b5a-63ff0fc061ea

After camping overnight in Kilkivan I headed north today and stopped to grab some caches allong the way. No problems finding the caches and once the logs were signed all were returned as found.

If a cache needed attention that was done too.

Thanks to the CO's for placing these cache for me and others to find.

Hi there weroamin. Today was a driving day, but a relaxed day was intended with slow driving and not a great distance planned. We had intended to stop in Gayndah but passed through and stopped overnight at the Binjour Range Camp Area. Geocaching along the way was a prime task and a handful of caches were found. This cache was a quick find after camping nearby overnight and the container and the log are dry and quite useable. SL, TN, LN. Thanks to weroamin for this cache - our find #6765.

On a weekend road trip with Pprime and Fangsoki and we were driving past the area on the way home and this one was on the list to find because of it's age.

Fangsoki had found it previously and he let Pprime and I head down from the parking spot. I looked in the correct spot but it was Pprime who did the extraction.

As my poor bf finished his last day at work I'm merrily making my way north to catch up with all the rellies.

All the years I've been driving this back road yet never known there was a rest spot. And such a pretty view. Thanks for the list.

My gps didn't settle very well on this one so it took the clue and returning to the same spot a couple times to find it. I thought for a while the cache was missing due to enclosure being used as a rubbish bin. Once I changed sides and my eyes adjusted to the dark it was a quick find however. It did have to be there after all. I'd already checked out every nearby location, disturbing spiders and sliding down hills as I did so.

Cache is in good condition. I've left a crocodile keyring for the next person. Have a lovely Christmas. tftc

I decided to pull over for this cache while heading west for the day.

I went past where the GPSr was pointing and drove up to the rest area. Despite there being clear signs about no camping - there was of course the token grey nomad who decided by-laws were not for him Twisted

I parked up and made my way down toward GZ. Some nice views to be had from here indeed. My GPSr told me to stop and I soon found a well-hidden cache. I signed the log. It looked like the pencil was dropped and not retrieved nearby. I collected the pencil and put it back in the cache and re-hid as found. It was in good condition otherwise.

A great excuse to stop and a nice place for a cache. TFTC weroamin Smile
